Sila Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Electrical

We had a heater installed about a year ago, and needed to have someone come for an annual cleaning and inspection. Sila has performed work for us before and I have always been happy with their service. Communication was good and the technician arrived on time and was very thorough. I wouldn't hesitate to use Sila again. Thank you.

I called Sila and talked about the charge which is too much and let they know that I am the member of angieslist.com but they ignored me.

The service turned out fine. There were some scheduling issues, but other than that, it was fine. They did not seem to understand what the Big Deal was for. We reserved two separate services at two separate times and there was a lot of confusion between the schedulers and the people coming out as to whether they were doing both services at once or doing two different services and it was frustrating. The quality was fine.

Technician was punctual, efficient and courteous, Was a good deal for $39.

The first time I called them, I specifically asked if it's possible to schedule a Saturday service. The representative replied yes. So I followed their suggestion and purchased the deal on Angie's website. I did not get a call back the next day. So I called them back to make sure they're on it. This time, I talked to the manager. He explicitly told me he had never assigned a weekend service before and asked me who I talked to when I first called. I did not remember so he went back to 'investigate'. After a while, he called me back and 'ensured' me the representative had NEVER said Saturday service was possible. I do not want to make a judgement where it went wrong but I knew I did get a yes when I asked the first time. Good thing is the refund from Angie's is a breeze.

Provided service as advertised. Tech was on time, courteous and very knowledgeable. Also, we both noticed during the servicing that my water heater drip tray had some water in it and appeared the tank was leaking/rusting from the bottom. Also has Sila replace that for us. That was a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and they were very prompt in scheduling and completing the job. Also used a very good Bradford & White water heater along with an expansion tank so I feel like it was worth the money. Have and will definitely use again.

Great! Everyone that I dealt with at Sila was friendly, helpful and professional. They were on time, replaced the old systems - heat, air conditioning and hot water heater quickly and cleaned up the areas. They were wonderful to deal with on this project. It's a lot of money for me to spend, but I feel confident that I will be comfortable and happy that I decided to replace the systems before the winter.

No shows , no emails or contact

Sila was recommended to us by our handyman when our AC stopped working in August. They took 4 trips out to our house to figure out the issue, each time leaving saying that the system was working correctly and then it would stop working ten minutes after the technician left. The first technician to come made a diagnosis and then ordered the incorrect part. This part was then put in the next day by a different technician who did not realize the part ordered was incorrect. He installed the part and the system shut down again after he left. Finally, on the 3rd call, they sent out their "best guy" who realized that the part ordered was incorrect and ordered the correct part. The cost for all this was $1000 with the labor charge seemingly way out of line with the amount of time actually spent performing the service. However, Sila seemed to have a good reputation so we had them come back out when we had a gas leak and to perform annual furnace maintenance. The cost for the repair of the gas leak was $100 over what they had originally quoted us. The kicker was the $1200 of additional work that was recommended by the technician. This was the same technician who ordered the wrong part when our AC stopped working. Wanting to get a second opinion, we had another Angies List highly related HVAC technician come out and evaluate our system, without telling him that we had already had the system looked at. He found nothing wrong with the system (except that the filter needed changing, which the Sila technician didn't mention). When I showed him the quote for repairs from Sila, he was astounded at the estimate. I asked him to specifically looked at the problem areas mentioned by Sila and he indicated they were in fine working order. I recognize that Sila is very highly regarded on Angies List. There is the chance that our system will indeed shut down, as predicted by the Sila technician, in which case I will be happy to rescind this review. But it's hard to imagine that two different technicians could come to two very different conclusions about our system. As someone also in a service industry, I am inclined to not trust the company that made a mistake and is charging seemingly very high prices.

It was good. There were no additional charges. Their price could be a little lower. Everything was pretty good.

The maintenance check went great. The provider outlined multiple issues with the system. The pricing for such issues was not worth it. The best option was to consider a brand new system. The only concern that I had was that the pricing for the recommended repairs was not very clear. I couldn't tell what the price comprised of (parts? labor? or both?) and how much each portion cost. In addition, the actual recommended fixes wasn't clear either.

He not only cleaned the boiler, but also left a new log for repairs and tagged water and gas lines heading in and out of major appliances for me at no cost. Nice guy.

Everything went fine. He did what was expected. He also added coolant to the unit. My only complaint about Sila is their constant calling to see if you need service. Once in a while is okay, but I think the number of calls from them was excessive. I had him take my phone number off the list, and to use my e-mail address instead. I will call them again.

I found the Rep, Shawn, to be very professional and efficient. I was very pleased with the experience and would recommend Sila to other members.

The sales call and installation went wonderful. But the home office .. a mess got wrong rebate forms?wrong day we local inspector to review it. And so on. My wife so fed up ? we decline any other service calls from them.

Everything went extremely smoothly, Sila did a great job with the install and showing me all the functions of the new boiler. Very clean and neat installation. Will definitely use Sila again on future HVAC projects.

Nice salesperson, not pushy, knowledgeable. First company we contacted. After receiving other quotes, realized Sila was significantly overpriced. They sent the deposit back, no problem. Just way too expensive.
