Great experience. It was very easy to schedule next day service. We were called the morning of the service to confirm and explain what time the service tech would be on site. I would recommend using Unique for Heating/AC service.

I had a good experience. I would contact them again, but they are a little expensive. They were honest enough to honor the discount pricing without my sending in the coupon.

I live in a Stone home which does not work well with the traditional A/C install. I had heard about High velocity - went to Space Pak website and got the name of this company. Called them, had a sales person come out - young guy, seemed to know his stuff. I originally had planned to get one unit for the entire house, and then decided to get one for the first floor and one for the second. Also got super HEPA filters on units for allergy reasons. They installed it as planned - took 5 days - two installers were professional, no issues. Within one week after the install, my first floor unit stopped working. They came out and fixed it, after calling in a few specialists. About two weeks later, my second floor unit stopped working - it actual froze up like the old freezers did! To make a very long story short, these guys were completely incompetent. I found out later that I was only the second install that they did of High Velocity systems at the time! And, based on subsequent discussions with other HVAC companies, I have since found that they installed it incorrectly and sold me severly oversized units. As a result, I have to keep the velocity of the second floor unit turned up high so that it doesn't freeze up, which means that every time that the air comes on on the second floor, you can't hear the TV! After $23,000, I am stuck with it now. After the fourth or fifth call to report that the units were not working in the first 3 months, they stopped returning my calls. I threatended to sue them, and they called someone from Unico to tour my house to see if they could fix it. Never fixed it - 5 years later, still have issues. Oliver Heating and Cooling took over the maintenance of it after I gave up on having Unique fix the ongoing issues, and Oliver has been able to keep them running reliably now. But, I will never be able to resolve the oversizing issues until it's time to replace them And, to show you how stupid they are, they even put my name on their reference list! I had people calling me to ask about their service - are you kidding me? I told them to run screaming. I would NEVER use this company again.

The were very responsive and knowledgeable, and provided us with a number of options for the replacement. We ended up using a different company for the replacement, but Unique's estimate was a close second. I would call them again if I had to repair or replace anything else.

I scheduled a time for Paul to visit my home and assess the layout. He arrived later then originally planned but was courteous enough to give me a call before the scheduled time and let me know he was running late which I appreciated. After the visit I felt much more confident that I was making the right choice and that Unique would be a good company to use to do the job. I really liked the responsiveness and educated answers Paul provided to all my questions which ultimately sealed the deal. I was given a final quote for the job that day and I scheduled a time for the Install to take place the following week. On the day of the install two workers arrived earlier then planned to get a look at the job at hand. The foreman arrived on time shortly afterwards along with Paul who was PM'ing the project. Once the job was discussed the two workers were left to handle the work to completion. Both workers were very polite and non disruptive and worked quickly to complete the job on the same day. There were a few very minor hiccups during the install that were immediately addressed once pointed out but overall I was satisfied with the job. After the work was done they cleaned up afterwards and I was left to enjoy the new AC system. It took about a day for the new system to cool down the house to the desired temperature but now it is working very well maintaining my set point. So far I am very impressed with how efficient and quite the system operates. You can't even tell it?s on inside or outside the house, even while standing near the outdoor compressor which is very impressive. I know if I had went the other way and added onto my existing forced air unit it would be a different story altogether in terms of sound levels. There haven?t been any overly hot days since the AC system was installed but so far with the one 88deg day we did have the system operated very well. Based on the observed indoor temperatures on the second floor being cooled by the one smaller 9K btu unit in the bedroom I may not even need to add additional units later like I originally expected but will see how it works next summer. Overall I was very impressed with Unique?s combination of responsiveness and on the job work ethic and would certainly use them again in the future.

We had a very positive experience with Unique. We researched several a/c companies and chose Unique because they seemed to have a great deal of experience installing high velocity air conditioning systems in older homes. We have a 1924 home, and did not want to install large metal ducts given the plaster walls and small closets common to older homes. We were very pleased from the start to the finish. Adam was our sales person, and he was very responsive and pleasant to work with throughout the process. He gave us a firm price quote and answered all our questions prior to the sale, and showed up every day during the installation to make sure things were going well. He also ensured that we got a very experienced installation team on our job. But the real accolades go to the two installation technicians, Huang and Lam. They did an excellent job installing the system and duct work with minimal disturbance to our walls and ceilings by utilizing existing access panels and squeezing themselves into impossibly small crawl spaces. They were even able to install vents in a sunroom with difficult access -- a room that another company had said they would not be able to do. They were punctual, very hard-working, quiet, and pleasant. At the end of each day, they cleaned everything up and vacuumed up any dust. Best of all, they were able to do our second and third floors (about 4000 sf) in just four and a half days, much faster than other companies estimated. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering installing a high-velocity system in an older home. The system is quieter than the conventional a/c system we had in our last home, and keeps the air drier (which reduces the need for cooling).

I called Unique at 2:30 and someone was at my home by 4:15! I called two other companies before Unique and they could not guarantee any service before Wednesday. Needless to say, I am completely impressed with Unique's response time. The technician, Greg, found the cause of our problem quickly - and unfortuately for us, it will require a total system replacement which is not unexpected in a 22 year old home. Given the 90 degree weather Greg offered to have someone drop-off window a/c units for our use tonight and although I declined, I was impressed with the offer for relief. Within a half-hour after his departure one of their sales associates called me to set up an appointment for a quote tomorrow. So far, I'm very pleased with this company. I hope I am equally as pleased with their replacement quote tomorrow.

Today I called about 4 pm with a problem. We had a service rep come out within 45 minutes and diagnose our problem (air but no cool) as a failed capacitor in the electrical system. Fixed it quickly.

Our central air conditioning was limping along quite poorly. We called Unique and set up an appointment to determine the problem, and repair it if possible. The first visit had to be canceled, as a giant rainstorm took out all the power in the neighborhood (and thus the HVAC...) but they gamely re-schedule once power was restored. This was, by the way, in the middle of that heatwave we were having. The service technician was terrific - on time (actually early), professional, and quick. He started with a filter change and some advice on that front, then he went onto the roof and tested the main unit. Diagnosis was quick - we were very low on coolant. He asked if I wanted it filled up - I agreed - he went to his truck, brought back the tank, and filled us up. Within 10 minutes of the service being done, our house was notably cooler, and has been ever since. When prompted, the service tech told us that, indeed, our compressor is a bit small for our building, and that the ductwork was, as I have suspected, terribly configured; he told me that he could have a follow up call made by the company (they did it via mail) if we wanted. All in all, a very good visit that's gotten us through this terribly sticky summer.

They were professional, timely, and they cleaned up great.

The installation team was very professional and did a great job of cleaning up when they were done. The workmanship was excellent. One of our soil pipes was accidently damaged during the installation. The damage wasn't apparent at first but, when notified, Unique promptly reimbursed us for the plumbing repair. Some may consider an accident like this to be a negative, but I generally think a company's response is more important. Accidents/mistakes happen all the time during renovations. But, in my experience, it is rare to find a contractor who is willing to take responsibily for them. Unique demonstrated excellent customer service in this regard.

I had a geothermal ground loop heating and cooling system put in my house in 2004 to replace my oil heat/hydronic and central air system. I did it in anticipation of rising oil costs but at the time there were few companies I could find who were familiar with and installing these systems. I eventually found a company to come to my house in Abington from Mechanicsburg and over the course of 4 days the system was installed for $22,000. The company is too far away for service calls. This year the system developed a freon leak at one of the compression fittings and after having the freon topped off by a local company, the high pressure switch broke disabling the whole system. I found 2 companys on Angie's list that seemed appropriate and called both for estimates. The first company came out, identified the leak and promised to investigate the system (it was not one they carried) and get back to me. That was the last I heard from them. The second company was Unique Indoor Comfort whom I had used the previous summer to install a new central air system in an apartment and had a good experience at that time. This time my contact person at the company was Corey and the serviceman was Mario. Mario came out on the day I asked and reviewed and tested the system - finding the defective switch the first company had missed. Corey contacted the manufacturer to get the necessary techinical information to repair the system and again Mario came out on the day I requested for the actual repair. First he reclaimed (for recycling) the 44+ pounds! of freon that were in the system. He then cut out two compression fittings coming from the compressor as well as a crimped right angle copper pipe and brazed in all new pipe. He then installed a new high pressure switch with an updated model which will be easier to replace in the future should it ever be necessary. Next he pressurized the system with nitrogen to make sure there were no other leaks and finally pumped the system down into vacuum to remove any contaminants and recharged the system. The job was completed in the time frame specified. The system is currently working well and the work area was left clean. As an ADDED BONUS, both Corey and Mario informed me that I am eligible for an RH electric rate from PECO and told me how to go about getting it. Thanks to them I made one phone call and my electric rate from Oct-May has gone down from 15cents/kilowatt-hr 7.4cents/kilowatt-hr. This cuts my electric bill in HALF! I feel very comfortable recommending this company.

I searched for contractors through family, friends and work and got three estimates for replacement of an existing heat pump. My brother told me about Angies List so I signed up for a year and search for contractors. I found Unique Indoor Comfort and contacted them for an estimate. Of all the contractors to come out and give an estimate, they were the only one that did exactly what they should have to calculate the proper tonnage for our house. I had done extensive research before contacting any contractor so I believe I had a pretty good handle on exactly what I needed. Unique Indoor Comfort matched my requirements and calculations exactly. Each of the other contractors essentially looked at the old unit, quoted their brand of heat pump and that was it. None of the other contractors measured square footage of our house nor even asked about it. None of other contractors calculated surface are of the windows. None of them calculated air flow loss. Unique Indoor Comfort came out and estimated everything in one visit. They arrived when scheduled. They completed all the work on the same day and when they said they would. I called them back for a minor issue and they arrived the next day and promptly and took care ot it. On top of all this they were professional, friendly and they cleaned up after themselves.

Pretty good. There is still one vent missing. The crew was professional and courteous. They had their work down to a science. It took five days.

It turned out well. They came in on time, and they did a good job. They did what they said they would do.

The system that we got installed is basically for people who use radiators and don't have ducts. They put through closets instead of putting in ducts. There is a big square vent that comes into the room and there is also a pick up vent. These vents are small so that they don't take up as much space in your closet and other things. So, they used a high velocity system with smaller vents instead of the traditional vents. It also provides better cooling throughout the room. They did the job and sent Michael Gill who was the service representative. He was outstanding. He came out and explained everything to us. He spoke to us and also set up the system. He always called when he said he would and didn't try to pressurize us by trying to upsell. He came on time and was also willing to wait outside till we got ready. He also waited while we checked other places out. They weren't necessarily the cheapest, but we happened to get good discounts from them. It was supposed to be upper seventeen thousands. We got $1000 off by getting it in September although they were kind enough to let us go into October before it was done. I called them on the last day in September and told them that I would get the work done only if they gave me the deal. So, they came within a week and it took them 3 days to get the work done. They had 2 guys who were working long hours. They not only cleaned up after themselves, but also dealt with 2 relatively large hyper dogs in a nice way. They didn't wait till the end of the day to clean up and cleaned up as they were doing the job. They vacuumed during the day too and they also had booties on their shoes. They were nice and answered all our questions. They seemed pretty quick too. They also gave $1500 off on top of the $1000, as their business is a bit slow in September. So, they were offering discounts to everyone. The system wasn't energy efficient and some of the companies install the more traditional AC and get it through in $1500 to attract more people. We got a good reduction. We didn't even do too much of comparison, as one guy came to take the measurements and never got back to us. We didn't even try calling him back, as we thought that we wouldn't use his services. They also asked for feedback of their company and I gave them good feedback, as I liked the way they worked. They were nice and I got friendly with them too.

Neil came to our house and did a very detailed assessment of our house and air condition needs. We got the estimate right at the time when he said we would (1 week after we had met with him). He explained to me why his estimate used which size unit and why that is superior or all we need (we were comparing estimates of three other companies). Even though I was first turned off by him being so sure he'd be the best and he'd be getting the job....we went with him because he WAS the best estimate. The workers he is using were great. Quiet, friendly, very clean. I think our house was cleaner after the job than before. I was expecting to have to do some major repair work such as repainting, cleaning, etc. But no work at all was needed. They finished as predicted after the third day. Now we just have to wait for the next heat wave to test the system.

They were responsive and professional throughout the job, which began as an emergency repair to the old boiler system, and ended up as a total replacement. They were sensitive to our budget concerns, and helped us to find the most efficient and affordable system that would qualify for tax rebates and Keystone HELP financing. They made a very stressful experience much more pleasant, and we are very happy with the final product.

I was a great experience and I would have them again. The servicemen cleaned up after themselves and were very cordial and always on time within the time period. The first time they came for the initial service, they were on time. They looked at the problem and tried to fix it. I used the coupon from Angie's List (which was also on their personal website) so that helped defray costs. They gave me options and I said I would get back to them. I felt I needed to research the costs differences between getting the pump fixed and getting a new statement. A few days later, Paul(?) came and looked at the furnace and gave me an estimate on getting a new furnace (regular or high efficiency). I then took a couple more days to decide that I wanted to only get the pump fixed. The repair guy did a great job. Very clean and he had a good attitude. I paid with my credit card with no problem. One thing I didn't do was to get multiple estimates. I felt like the reviews were good and I didn't need them, also it was getting cold. So I was very motivated to get the work done.

I have mixed emotions about them. They are very professional. They missed a lot of things; however they did come back and make it right after I told them. I had to take time off of work and have them come back out a couple of times. I was not satisfied with the original installation so I had to call them to come back out. They came out and fixed something?s and then they forgot a sensor, but now everything is completed up to my standards. Their price was the most competitive of the five estimates that I received.

We got the referral to this company from Angie's List. There was only a short lag time before the technician came out. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and effective. The coupon from the Angie's List site also helped bring the price down. I believe that we got good value for our expenditure.

The technician arrived on time and was professional and pleasant. He answered all of my questions.

It worked out extremely well in the terms of work they did. I thought it was perfect! I thought the price was very reasonable.

I was extremely pleased with their work. Everyone was friendly and the installation went very well. The air duct went through our closets and they trimmed the shelving to fit around the duct and put everything back the way it was. The system works great and we are very happy with it. There was only one minor issue. The winter after the installation, a pipe froze and burst in a section of our house that they had worked in. I spoke to them a few months later, and they came out and fixed the pipe and re-insulated the area for an extremely minimal cost of parts only.

Service was good and I would use them again.
