This was the second time we used Stone Masters to install granite in a kitchen. We first had them install granite in our kitchen in 2010. We were so pleased with the whole process that when we purchased our new home we didn't consider going anywhere else. Carol in sales was very knowledgeable about the granite in stock. When it came time to have the template made, Brandon came to my home on time and had many suggestions to make the final product look incredible (which it does). He took the time to answer all my questions (of which there were many). The installation also went very smoothly. John and Mike were also on time and did a wonderful job installing the granite. They worked quickly and efficiently and there was no mess in the home after they left. I wish every home improvement project went as smoothly as this one did. I would recommend Stone Masters to anyone looking to purchase/install granite in their home (they have other types of countertops but I'm not familiar with them).

and pleasant. Later that day I got a call from our designer that Stone Masters had made a mistake on their estimate and the actual cost was $1200 more (20%) higher than their "checked" estimate and we would have to pay that amount (cash or check; due in two days) before they would come out and install the countertops...of course they said if we wanted they would just cancel the contract and we could begin the process with another installer. Kitchen was demolished without sink or stove...I felt cornered and taken advantage of. Ultimate bait and switch. This is not what we expected and it doesn't seem very ethical. I wouldn't go back or recommend them to anyone. If you can't trust their estimate, why bother even trying to do business with them. I understand someone making a mistake but they were given a chance to check their work and confirmed the estimate was right. They didn't even offer to split the difference...felt like I was paying a ransom to get my kitchen back. The work crew and installation crew were terrific but there is a problem with sales and management.
Description of Work: Provider installed new kitchen and wet bar countertops. Template and installation was very professional and well done. The problem was with the estimate and management. We chose this contractor because of their estimate was lower than competitors and they were local. Estimate seemed low but we double-checked with them that they had included all the areas. Stone Masters confirmed the estimate. We contracted with them and began work. Kitchen was demolished. New floor was installed. Countertops, stovetop and sink were all removed for templating. Initial template cancelled due to snow but then templater came on a 2nd date and completed his layout. He was very professional

Stone Masters can only base the estimate upon the sketch your designer provided. The sketch your designer provided was to a completely different job. We can not check accuracy until we come to your home. As soon as OUR employees measured your kitchen we notified your designer of the square footage differences. Your designer has told you a story that has incorrect/incomplete information. We do apologize and are sorry about the snow and rescheduling but are very happy that everyone of our employees and the finished product is good.

I saw their web page and I visited them...I was impressed with their showroom. They have the granite on sight and you can actually see the whole slab. You can walk out to their work area where they can cut the slab. I was really impressed with them. The turnaround time is quick...from the time they do the template.... to the time it is submitted... to the day it will be installed is within seven to ten days. I am more than pleased with them. Just an update to say how pleased I was with Brandon who did my template. He was prompt, courteous and answered my questions. John & Mike did a great job with the installation of my counter tops. They too were courteous, prompt, cleaned up when they were done and answered my questions.

Raquel We visited the showroom and the sales person was helpful. Ann Marie also assisted and answered all our questions. She also suggested good ideas. The guy that came for the template was professional and explained everything. Within a week Jim and Mike came over to install the granite counter tops and do the plumbing. The next day Tito came to do the back splash and spent a good amount of time installing the back splash. I'd highly recommend them and we chose them over other contractors because of their professionalism.

I selected StoneMasters because they were the only company that offered a backsplash tile included in their package deal. Unfortunately, it was that very backsplash tile that ended up being the source of the contention with the company. Worth mentioning is the fact that I decided to visit StoneMasters despite a friend's warning that the staff was remarkably rude to her during a visit. Figuring there were two sides to every story, I visited the showroom and found that the staff was quite friendly. The selection, scheduling and countertop installation went fine. During the installation, the workers brought in the packaged backsplash tile (which I had not elected to have installed by them). I inspected it while they were installing the countertop and found the quality to be shockingly low. The display tile in the StoneMasters showroom was pocked and pitted, but the holes were filled with grout and had an acceptable rustic appearance. The tile that was delivered, though, was cracked and chipped. Some tiles had holes as big as a quarter in them. Some crumbled in my hand when I lifted them. None of them were represented by the sample I had been given. When I showed them the tile I had to reject, the installers assured me that they had enough tile on the truck to make up the portion of the tile that was not acceptable. After a cell phone call to StoneMasters placed from their truck, however, the tile on their truck mysteriously did not exist anymore. I was told that I would have to go to the showroom to make the exchange. I did so a day or so later, with my tile contractor accompanying me to verify that the tile was low-quality at best, and not usable at worst. After waiting in the lobby while staff members peeked around walls and held whispered conversations, I was met by an employee who brusquely told me to follow him to the warehouse and led me to a pile of tile cartons. He told me to replace all the tile I found objectionable from this pile. I thought this was a perfectly acceptable solution. Unfortunately, he said it in such a curt, contemptuous way that I was left feeling that I had been insulted rather than accommodated. I did not even have the time to thank him, because he was already walking away. He left me to struggle with the heavy tile through the huge, abandoned warehouse and load it into my car, while the StoneMasters staff watched from their office window. "People may not remember what you say, but they will remember how you made them feel." I will always remember how StoneMasters made me feel, and it wasn't good. I find it particularly revealing that the installers gave me a flyer offering to place me in a drawing for an iPad- but only if I gave the company an excellent review. I notice that they reply very positively to perfect reviews, but should any customer dare to voice a complaint, they respond the same way, whether on Angie's List, Yahoo, or Google: with thinly veiled contempt and snide remarks. When I outfitted my master bathroom with granite, I chose a different stone supplier. I will never go back to StoneMasters.

We are so sorry you felt that way and certainly did not intend that. When you voiced the opinion that you did not like the tile we immediately allowed an exchange or any and all tiles or a refund of the $99 at your choice. You opted to and we allowed you to hand select them to ensure you got what you wanted. Travertine is a rustic porous tile that does look completely different once it is installed and grouted. The quarry that we get the travertine tile from is exactly the same as is on display. We are happy that you had no complaint about the countertops that we fabricated and installed, hope they bring you many years of enjoyment and we will be cutting a check for the $99 that you paid for the self install tile as a gesture of good will. We honestly thought that we addressed your concern, immediately and without any hesitation, allowed an exchange or refund and gave you exactly what you wanted. Clearly, we were wrong and are issuing a $99 refund regardless. We are sorry you felt that Travertine tiles should have looked different than they did.

They were a perfect company to deal with from the very start of the project, to the very end. John and Mike were the installers, and they were far and away the best service people that I've ever encountered. Brandon first came to take to take the measurements and he was very helpful and courteous. I would definitely recommend this company to all of my family and friends.

Terrific! I would recommend Stone Masters to anyone. After visiting with and speaking with a number of countertop providers from independent stores to big box and big advertisers...we visited Stone Masters...friendly, pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. They provided us with samples and after viewing them at home, we returned a few days later to make our purchase. They delivered on all promises. We chose a slab, an edge that was slightly more costly than the standard edge, also selected an expensive coating to seal the granite and opted to meet with them again to do a computerized layout of the slab also for a fee. (One third payment at this time) The template was done when scheduled - on time by Brandon who explained everything he was doing, made some suggestions and when finished called Stone Masters to arrange for an appointment to do the layout. (Second third of the payment at template time). The slab was in the manufacturing facility, under different light and all defects (inconsistencies in the natural stone) were circled. We used a computer screen picture to maneuver the template onto the slab, avoiding as many of the inconsistencies as possible. Once done...installation was scheduled...a week later. John and Mike installed the counter and the table tops - very professional, patient, extremely careful moving the heavy pieces around also answered all questions we had. They sealed the seam, coated the granite and table top, installed the sink and cleaned up. We made the final payment (the final third) and have a new counter.

I am taking the time to write this review because I am really disappointed by the service we have received. It is unfortunate, because the countertop installed in our kitchen looks great, and the people at the beginning of the transaction (sales, templating, and installation) were all great and professional. It was also performed quickly - Brandon did the template that same week and the countertop was installed the following week - so we were pleased with the promptness of the service. Our problem has been after the countertop was actually installed and all the money was paid, when we wrote with a concern about a crack in our granite - now they have disappeared. The day after our countertop was installed I noticed that there was a crack along the edge and all the way through to the other side. You can feel it with your finger and it is visible to the eye. I took a picture of it and sent a very polite and detailed email to Stone Masters with a question about what needed to be done about the crack. We were concerned because it is on the edge, all the way through, and right above the dishwasher which will have more vibration, a door opening and closing, etc. I received an email from the owner the next day which said the crack was a "fissure." The email included disclaimer language - where you agree that natural stones have imperfections, cracks, fissures, and other issues. I work with contracts in my profession and I am well aware of what it meant that she sent me a disclaimer. But, we were not asking them to replace the counter top - we just wanted to find out what could be done about the crack. Her email invited me to contact them again if I had any further questions. I did, so I wrote back the following day asking if there was anything that could or should be done to make sure that the crack did not continue to grow. I explained again that we were concerned because of where it is located and because it goes all the way through. At no time did I suggest or imply that I expected Stone Masters to replace the counter top. I was just asking whether there was anything such as epoxy, sealer, etc that could be used to close the crack. I never heard back. After 10 days, I wrote to another contact I had at Stone Masters, and again to the owner. Still no response, now over two weeks. I think that is a poor way to run a business. Even if there is no solution to this crack issue, we should have received a response. For us, $4000 was a lot of money to spend on this counter. I've been waiting for it for years. As stated, everyone involved on the front end of the sale was great. I gave this company high marks in those categories to be fair. Its the customer service after they have your money that is the problem. So I guess you should just cross your fingers everything goes perfectly! Additionally, they promised me a $50 referral fee (I was referred by someone so we were both supposed to receive $50). My friend received her referral but we have not. I've reminded them of this a few times and have never received a response.

Thank you for your review! We apologize for any delay in getting back to you. Your email dated September 28th talked about 2 concerns. One was if had you in fact received the 1/2 bull-nose edge you paid for and that you were concerned about a fissure. On September 29th we responded to you in writing by e-mail with a photo example showing that you had in fact received the correct edge and addressed the fissure as being a natural part of stone as you were made aware before we began any work on your counters. Our response was one business day later. We did ask you to inform us if the fissure got any bigger or longer and did document your concern in your file. We are happy to come out and do what we can to make the fissure less visible and fill it with epoxy. We do not believe it to be a structural issue, but did document it for future reference if it should ever become one. The referrer received her $50 reward at the end of the month of September 30th and yours is scheduled for the end of this month on October 31st, 2013. While this has not happened yet, it will, and I will personally see to it. We will contact you today to schedule a technician to come out and look for the $50 reward on the 31st but not before then as it is not scheduled yet. Again we apologize for any delay and remind you that we did respond in writing within one business day.

Stone Masters just completed installation of our countertop yesterday and we couldn't be happier with the end result and the whole process. It began when we visited Stone Masters' location and our sales person, Ashley, walked us through the showroom/warehouse showing us all the different stone options and thoroughly explaining the whole process, from picking the stone to installation. We couldn't make up our mind on which stone would work best for our kitchen so Ashley put together a to-go bag with samples of the different styles we were considering. We used the samples to decide which color/design worked best for our kitchen and continued to shop at other places. We found Stone Master's to have the best price for what we were looking for and based upon other Angie's List members reviews; I knew we were going to get great service too. We contacted Stone Masters with our countertop selection and set up an appointment for the template. The template guy (Brian?) arrived exactly when they said he would and he was very professional and courteous. He was willing to figure out for us whether we had enough stone in our package to create a table top too (which Ann Marie suggested for us). Based on his calculations and input we decided to go forward with a granite table top for our kitchen table and it looks great with the matching counter. After the template appointment we set up the installation for a week later. John and Mike arrived during the appointment window time and worked fast and clean. John and Mike were very professional and courteous and made sure I was satisfied with everything they did (which I was). I would recommend Stone Masters to anyone looking for a great quality product and great service.

I really liked them. It really seemed like they were hi-tech. Everybody seemed very specialized at whatever task they were doing. I was very impressed at how they measured everything. When they came to take the measurements, they measure by hand but they also had a computerized machine. The granite came in about 2 weeks ago and everything was pretty much the way they had schedule things. They were very meticulous. All the pricing and everything was upfront and very meticulous. They had you sign and check every little detail. We did end up buying our own sink because we wanted a double sink and they did not have one that was the right price for us. There was a small problem with the plumbing which was quite obvious the next morning and we called them and they came right out. Everything was very upfront and everything fit perfectly. We also had to level and strengthen the base. They didn't do that but they had someone that did that for them and he did it very well. They

These guys rocked and greatly exceeded our expectations. The measurement process went very smooth and the lead time for installation was very short - 5 days. The installation went very smooth and both installers did a very professional job installing the counter top. If you didn't know where the seams were you would not be able to locate them. Overall we couldn't be happier with the counter tops and I don't hesitate recommending Stone Master's to anyone in the market for counter tops
Description of Work: We purchased a granite counter top as part of our kitchen remodel. Stone Master's price and selection of counter tops exceeded others that we had visited and it made the decision to buy here very easy. Once we selected our counter top we scheduled an appointment for them to come to our house to do measurements. We were able to get an appointment within the window of time we were looking for as we had a communion party at our house and our timeline was pretty tight. Once the measurements were completed we were able to schedule an installation within the week.

The individuals are very professional, knowledgeable about their business and very friendly. When the job was finished ... wait for it ... in less than 3 weeks, we actually missed having the team around! They were amazingly professional, careful, tidy, and skilled at what they do. Led by owners Ann Marie and Dan, and designer Jason Morris, everything we picked out worked to create a beautiful dream kitchen. Know that this group does not just do countertops ... but gorgeous cabinets, sinks ... everything. They referred us to contractor Michael Civitella who was equally amazing. His install was perfect. We are so grateful to everyone at Stone Masters and we recommend them without reservation.
Description of Work: Stone Masters completely renovated our open kitchen area. This involved removing existing flooring, backsplash, cabinets, Corian counters, sink and all appliances. The project had to be done very carefully as the room was open to our family room, dining room and living room. Also, we were donating our old kitchen to a charity, so it could not be ruined during take-down.

Description of Work: We had granite countertops installed in our kitchen and we had great service from the beginning to the end of our project. We initially went on a Saturday and we were warmly greeted in the main office and then brought to the warehouse by a sales person to help us pick out a granite that matched our cabinets and floor nicely. We were talking with one sales person, but then another came by to help...I never did get their names. The second sales person actually helped us pick out the granite that we ultimately purchased. We went back the next day to re-look at the granite since the day before was cloudy and we wanted to make sure that the granite didn't look too different in sunlight. The second sales person was there when we went back. Once we were sure, we came back during the week because we could choose between two lots of our granite choice. The guys moved the slabs around for us and were very patient while we were trying to figure out which lot to choose. Both Ann Marie & Sarah (our new sales person) were a great help that day. We picked the granite lot and then sat down to sign the contract. We bought our sink and faucet from them as well. Our measurement appointment was the day of Hurricane Sandy, so it had to be rescheduled to the following week. Once that was done, we went the next day for our design appointment with Phillip and Ann Marie. A wonderful step since we were able to minimize the look of the seam on the long piece of our counter. We were able to tweak the design a bit so as to play down the veining of our granite. Ann Marie gave us a tour of the facility so that we could better understand how our granite moved through the system. We then got a call to schedule our installation and the following week, our counters were installed. We received and email from Natalie the day before installation to confirm. Our time slot was 12-5pm but I called at 2:40pm to reconfirm our appointment since we hadn't heard anything from them in the afternoon. I was told that the installers were on their way and would arrive shortly. John and Fedo did our installation and they were great. They were very polite, everything was cleaned up before they left and our counters looked awesome. They told us how to maintain them and some dos and don'ts about maintaining the counters.

Stonemasters has a beautiful showroom and a pleasant knowledgeable staff. When we decided to finally upgrade our countertops, I found them online. We were interested in soapstone and they had a lot of it. As a matter of fact, they have a huge granite/stone polebarn that is loaded to the gills with beautiful slabs for you to view and touch. They use a state-of-the-art system where they take high res photographs of the slabs you select. They then do a digital template of your kitchen and overlay it on top of the actual photographs of the slabs, so you can approve exactly where the cuts in the slab will be layed out. They also offer package deals that can include sinks and faucets. We decided to go with Stonemasters because we were impressed with them. I mentioned the company to a contractor friend of mine. He told me he had issues with them. He said they were not very good after the job was completed. He had a problem with an appliance not fitting after the top was installed. He said it took arguments and a lot of time to get the issue resolved. We went with Stonemasters regardless. We were sold by then. The scheduling went very well. There was little lead time. They sent out the fellow to do the template. He was on time, clean, smart and polite. He was very good at what he did and very thorough. We then went in for the layout. I sat with them and we layed out the digital lines onto the stone and I approved. Time for install. The install went without a hitch. The guys were clean, polite and knew what they were doing it seemed. After they left we were able to take in the new look our kitchen had taken on. It was then I began to notice the issues. The hole for the cooktop required two strips of soapstone, front and back. For some reason they put a piece up front that was a markedly different shade of green than the piece in the back. It stands out like a sore thumb. I wished they had put the back piece that matched perfectly, up front. I also noticed on the long countertop where the sink is, they spliced it right in the middle of the sink. This is normal practice. The splicing and seem was good but the countertop top rises going up to the seem and then falls going down the other side. I can live with that cause only I notice it. Next comes the sink and this is the thing that really got my Wife and I upset. We decided to go with the sinks they offer in the package deal based on what we looked at in the showroom. The actual sink they installed in our kitch had an entirely different finish than the one in the showroom. It was horribly rough. So rough that when wiped with a paper towel the finish actually had fibers in it from the paper towel. Now comes the problem we had with Stonemasters. I went up to the showroom on a Sunday to get a tub of soapstone wax that they were supposed to have given me when they installed it. The owner of Stonemasters was there. I asked to speak with him about my issues. The very first thing he said to me was "I'm not supposed to be working today but go ahead, what's the problem" I first mentioned the color/shade issue with the piece in front of the cooktop. Long story short he said it was my fault because I approved the layout. The fact is, they never zoomed in close on those strips when I went in for the layout. Additionally, when they actually went into fabrication, I would have hoped, being they are experienced with these things, that they would have alerted me and suggested a change. That did not happen.Dan, the owner, did not make me feel comfortable at all about this issue and finally said.. "OK if you want us to fix it we will, but I can't guarantee we can make it better". I said forget it. Then I mentioned the finish of the sink. He actually began laughing and went into an explanation about how China makes the sinks and ships them for less than we can buy the material here in the US. So the US imposed big tarrifs on those companies. He said now they only stamp the sink in China and send it over here for final finishing to avoid the tarrif. I said... how does that help me? He said if I wasn't satisfied that I would need to call Artison myself and he gave me the number. TAKE NOTE: So far not once did Stonemasters offer to come out to my house and have a look. I was getting the impression that they were aware of all of this so there was nothing for them to see that they haven't already seen. So the story goes. I called Artison. They requested pictures. After a few days Artison offered to send me some "cream" to apply that would make the finish look better. I refused the cream and insisted they replace the sink no charge including labor. They finally agreed and asked for my address so they could send me a new sink and have Stonemasters install it. A strange thing happened. The next day Stonemastered called me in the evening while we were out to dinner and said the sink was in. I said... how could it? It was only sent yesterday and it was being sent to me! They said no they received it as it only takes a day from NJ. So I emailed Artison to verify where they sent it. They confirmed it was sent to me. I was totally confused. I received the new sink UPS from Artison. It looked much better than the first one but nothing close to the beautifully finished sinks they display in the showroom. Stonemasters came out and installed it. They wanted to take the sink i purchased from them back. I refused as this was the sink I paid for, from them. I said the only way I would give it back is if they installed it in their showroom so people would see what they are really getting. I will never contact Stonemasters again and will always tell anyone who asks, what happened. Stonemasters customer service is absolutely horrible.

Thank you for your feed back! We appreciate it a lot. Artisan & Stone Masters replaced the sink. We gave you the $39.95 soapstone wax for free, you neither ordered or paid for it. You positioned and selected the sink pieces exactly where you wanted them. Since you expressed remorse with your selection we offered to replace it for free. Stone Masters un-plumbed and re-plumbed your sink for free, with no hesitation. Your refusal to return the "unpaid for- extra sink" so that we could actually see the issue and resolve it internally with manufacturing is as peculiar as the fact that in 6 years with Artisan this is the ONLY instance of a sink finish even being questioned. The sole reason for both Stone Masters and Artisan to want the sink back is to evaluate and resolve any manufacturing issue. Why you would not give back the sink that you did not like or want, after it was replaced with a satisfactory one at no charge is a mystery. None the less, we hope that the counter and sink bring you years of happiness and enjoyment!

We decided to check out Stone Masters after the great reviews we read on Angie's List, and they did not disapoint. From our very first visit with Leslie, to templating and installation, one word sticks out. "Professionalism". Leslie walked us through the selection process of our countertops, new sink and faucet and even took the time to introduce us to "the dog". She was very helpful and answered all our questions. Scheduling of templating and installation with Jessica were a breeze. During templating, we were introduced to a measuring machine that was recently used on an episode of "Kitchen Impossible" . The installers, John and Jose did a great job with the installation. We could not be more pleased with our new countertops. They really provide the "Wow" in our kitchen.

Stones Masters offers a good product and the guys doing the install were good...What we found in our experience is they do great in the selling process. We were impressed after our visit to the showroom but, unfortunately, after we committed to purchase from them, we could not be more disappointed with the level of service offered in scheduling and unreasonable rescheduling fees. They do not allow you to schedule out based on what works for your planning purposes. The process for scheduling goes essentially like this: you will get a phone call telling you what available day or days they have in the near future and you need to go from there. If those dates don't work for you, you will need to wait for the next phone call. There is nothing like waitiing for a call to finish your kitchen that has been out of commision for months. Anyone choosing to use them, watch out for possible added delivery charges and you better make sure you do not have any possible issues arise that would interfere or come up 71 hours before the installation date is scheduled for. If something happens in that 71 hour window and you need to reschudule, you will get hit with a $300 rescheduling fee. We had something out of our control happen to us and the installers served us with the added $300 fee at the rescheduled install date. No call from the sales rep ahead of time. Just know that at the time of your counter top "template" you will need to sign a form outlining all the things to be prepared for on installation day and along with that is the line item that reads (paraphrasing) a $300 rescheduling fee after 72 hour confirmation regardless of any reason. Just remember, regardles of any reason! We were traveling home from a trip and our flight was canceled during a connecting flight. We we were just held in a helpless situation out of our control which was explained to Stone Masters. We were not offered any solutions to avoid the penalty which we feel could have been offered for later that same day. We wished things could have been resolved, but they flat out chose not to, so we will be purchasing our remaining counter tops from another provider.

In order to provide "on time" delivery to all our customers we do require 72 hours notice to cancel without any rescheduling fee. Your calling to cancel on the morning of your install, left us paying our installers to do nothing. We actually had to pay our installers who showed up to work on time, loaded the truck with your stone counter-tops and then drive to and arrive at your house on time. But you were not there. So then they got paid to return and unload the truck with your stone. We could not simply show up at another persons house to install stone with ZERO notice. Your call left us no time to work the phones to find an opportunity to find them work even though we have many more jobs scheduled. People typically take a day off from work to be there for install and that requires that they give their employers notice to request time off. Our employees have mortgages to pay and can not be without income because your could not be there for your installation which you selected and confirmed. I am sorry that you do not accept this. We wish there was another way to pay the guys who did show up prepared to work and wonder how you would have felt if it was us that did not show up for the scheduled time........ that you selected.

This is what a service oriented company is supposed to be like!!!! Way too many companies these days fail to see the value in knowing what it takes to keep a customer as well as working with them from the start of a project to the very end. Stone Masters is the exception to the rule and they rise to the top of an already crowded home improvement pile. From the very first contact through the bid process and on to completion, Stone Masters did a fantastic job. We are in the middle of a complete house renovation, tearing our small kitchen out, enlarging it and making it functional once again. The kitchen cabinet designer we worked with had suggested several stone yards with corresponding installation firms. We contacted Stone Masters to get a bid for our kitchen counter tops after reading all of the positive reviews on Angie?s list. It was a bit of a trek to Kennett Square to their showroom/fabrication shop but it was well worth it. I had sent a diagram of the kitchen to Ann Marie and she gave us some preliminary information before we scheduled an appointment with her to see the slabs. We were greeted warmly by both the receptionist and their cute dog. While we waited, the dog led us to its box of goodies and waited patiently while we got one and gave it to them. Heather asked several questions about the type of counter top that we were interested in. We have had granite counters in the past, but this time we were intrigued with soapstone. She explained the differences between soapstone and granite. All of the other showrooms we had been to seemed only to have small 12? square samples of soapstone-not nearly large enough to gauge how the slab will look in its entirety. Heather wiped down the soapstone slabs with water to show how they look once they have had oil applied to them (unique to soapstone). This is what really sold my wife on the soapstone. It has a fantastic look and feel to it; soft yet very durable and stain proof. She also showed us the warehouse full of granite and marble slabs. The choices are pretty overwhelming. Once we decided on the soapstone, we talked templating and installation with Ann Marie. We have a fairly unique peninsula area that was going to need some specialized support. Ann Marie easily explained how we should go about having a flat piece of steel fabricated and installed just under the counter tops for support without looking obtrusive. We received the estimate along with a detailed ?Preparedness statement?. This sheet outlines all of the ?what if?s? and gives you as the customer a very clear view of how the counter tops are fabricated and installed. Make no mistake; there are several things that are required of you, the customer to have a successful installation. This sheet does an excellent job of communicating what is required of you and also what Stone Masters will do to make the project successful. The templating process, where they make a virtual copy of where the counter tops will sit, went very smooth. It is amazing to watch how some of the high tech tools are used in measuring your layout! Once the layout was signed off, we were able to view just how our slabs would be cut and assembled. The artistry involved with matching slabs, seams and the veining was nothing short of magnificent. Jessica called to schedule the installation. She worked with us to set a date that would allow the install crew easy access to their truck while they worked in our house - Not an easy task living in Philadelphia. John and Fedo called ahead to let us know they were on their way. They performed the install with excellent precision and professionalism. The counter tops came out better than we could have ever expected. Stone Masters is top notch with their customer service, communication, professionalism and integrity. I have highly recommended them to several people so far and will continue to do so.
