In late Nov 2015 I received the email from Angie's List with the offer from Master's Electrical to do 4 man hours of work for $196. I had been hesitant for some time to go forward with installing a transfer switch and related electrical components required for a portable generator. The high cost for an electrician was one of the factors holding me back, so this offer was an important part of my cost calculation. I contacted Don at Master's and explained what I wanted to do, and asked him if they could do this type of work. He said they could, so I arranged for him to come by my home at a convenient time for him, since I lived in a different area of suburban Pittsburgh. I subsequently purchased a generator and transfer switch. Having used Angie's List contractors before, I knew that having the right supplies could expedite the work and save some money, so I explained to Don that he could tell me what other supplies I needed during the upcoming visit. Obviously, I had informed him at the start of our conversation that I had found out about the Master's offer through Angie's List. As it turned out, the earliest date that worked for both of us was not until early January (I believe it was Jan 6, 2016). When Don and a co-worker arrived, he looked at my home set-up and listened to what I wanted to do, and told me that all I still needed was another switch, and he gave me a verbal job estimate of "probably around $400 with the Angie's discount". I said no problem, as I realized that the job could take more than 4 man hours. On Feb. 1, 2016 I rcv'd an email job estimate of $665 from Master's Electrical owner, Eric. I immediately called him and explained that Don had given a verbal estimate of appx $400, with the Angie's List Deal. Eric stated that there had been a miscommunication with Don, and he had not informed him that I was an Angie's List Deal customer. Immediately after getting off the phone with Eric, I finalized the purchase of the deal so that there would be no further confusion. At that point, they stopped communicating with me and informed Angie's List that they would not honor the Big Deal offer. Now, because of the elapsed time, I cannot return the appx $1200 worth of supplies and the generator, and I'm stuck trying to find an electrician who offers something close to what I had factored into my original cost calculation with the Big Deal. I was operating in a "good faith" mindset with this company, and they responded with this unprofessional act. They are by far the worst contractor that I have used or tried to use through Angie's List. In fact, this is the only time that I have ever had any problem. My strongest advice is to avoid this company and their sleezy lack of business ethics.

Don who replies to messages via Angies list was very responsive and quick to set-up an appointment, Eric (owner) and his helper performed the work. They were professional and courteous. The properly completed the task and cleaned after themselves. I will most definitely do business with them again.

Don was professional and give his professional advice to my question he utilize the whole four hour to make all the thing i need done was completed.

Master's was fantastic. It is a small team that cranked out recessed lighting in my living room (8 cans), and installed 2 3-way switches in a single afternoon. I would highly recommend this team.

Everything went well - the chandeliers were too large for us to do ourselves so we decided to hire an electrician. It was the perfect type of job for a limited time (4 hours) appointment.

The work they did was fine, but they did not clean up. It was just a mess when they left. They came back another time and I told them about it and they cleaned it up. I was not really thrilled. I would not use them again. I thought the price was fairly reasonable. They preferred to come back and fix something that was not working properly and they did fix it for me. They were not professional at all. There were two people that came out the first time and the second person just did not seem to know what he was doing. He was kind of spaced out or something. The first guy was good at what he was doing and I dealt with him. He had to tell the other one everything what to do and show him everything. Maybe he was new.

I bought the Big Deal certificate on Friday the 1st, so I wasn't expecting to be contacted until Monday during business hours.I got a response from Monday the 4th with Don asking me to email him with my available dates at his business email. So I emailed him there, although I'd already put in my available dates in when I bought the certificate. When I didn't hear anything from that email, I sent another two days later. Still heard nothing, so emailed him on Angie's List again on Friday morning. I let him know that while I realize it could take up to 45 days for the appointment, the certificate deal said the scheduling would be done within two business days and that I needed to know when I'd have to take a day off work for them to do the work. Still no response. On Sunday, got annoyed and requested a refund from Angie's List. He contacted me Monday, which was a week from our first correspondence. Even if he only checks emails once a week, which is apparently the case, he could have at least called at some point. I answered that I'd requested a refund and heard nothing else. Tuesday, Angie's List contacted me to see if we can resolve the issue. I sent him one last email that if we could keep the date he'd asked about Monday, we could keep the appt. Haven't heard from him since. Went ahead and got the refund.

Prompt and professional. Completed work on time and within stated estimate. Will list them as our "go to" electrician when we sell our house.

I purchased this service and Don contacted me the very next day to schedule. On the day of service, Eric contacted my husband several hours before they were due to arrive to do the work to indicate there was an emergency and to inform him they were running behind schedule. Two electricians arrived at the newly determined time. They explained in detail the work that would be done. They did a great job. They cleaned up very well. Very professional. Will hire again.

Eric & Don were flexible with my difficult schedule and once we found a date that worked, Eric arrived on time with an assistant. They got right to work. The job turned out to be somewhat challenging (years of silt had settled at the bottom of two drain pipes), but they cleaned them out and just kept going. They were pleasant and professional and I now have new warmers with a lighted switch indicating whether the warmers are on or off (something I did not have before). I am very pleased with their work.

Purchased the deal on Angie's list for 4 hours of labor for $196. They were busy but able to fit me into their schedule. Two guys came for 2 hour and got everything done in a timely manner. Were very professional and I am absolutely going to call them for my next electrical project!

They were absolutely wonderful, efficient, polite and professional. They got a lot more accomplished than I expected in a short amount of time. I couldn't be happier.

I saw the A rating and the coupon. I called, emailed, left messages, and responded through email and through Angie's List. No response.

Pretty good - I would probably use again although I would still take a look at other providers as well. The 196 coupon deal seems to be worth it. I had an electrician for about 4 hours and got done some work on the panel box that I would not attempt and a few honey do items done. I spent an extra 60 bucks on some fuses for my panel that seemed fair in terms of price. Not a bad option at all - I may do another 4 hour coupon as well.

Eric and Jamie did a great job with the electrics on our house and my husband and I would recommend them without reservation. Eric was the main electrician and he did an excellent job both with the electrics and patching the walls / ceiling after the lights were installed and new switches put in. The new fuse box was installed without fuss -- it was mounted beautifully and all the switches were labelled (something which our old box wasn't). Eric was easy to talk to and work with. He communicated well and talked us through what he was doing as he went and why. The only slight problem we had was actually getting to the point where we could arrange to get a quote. That seemed to take some time with missed calls and some unanswered emails. That said, once we were in touch, communication was good. Eric was enthusiastic about his work and clearly takes pride in a job well done. He won't hesitate to tell you that he does a good job, and please believe it! I wasn't sure when I first met Eric how the job would end up but he's really as good as gold. He pays good attention to detail, does what he says he'll do, and is honest about the work and costs. Eric and Jamie were easy to work with and made what could have been a stressful time for us really easy. We really are very pleased and would love to have Eric and co back if he'll have us! Really outstanding service. They respond promptly and arrived on time. Most importantly, there were very thorough in their work. Would definitely use again, particularly with this Angie's List deal.

Service and responsiveness was great. They gave us an appointment within a few days of first calling. They came on time, and were able to address all (and more!) of the issues we had in a very decent time. They also gave insightful advice on the house. We are extremely satisfied with the service, and this was done for an incredibly reasonable price. Will absolutely call them again!
