"Do not hire this individual for your job. I have to rehire someone else or do the work now. I hired Mr. RM Handyman to do some door weatherstripping for my front door. Overall it came out good until I realized he installed part of it wrong so reached out the same day and sent him photos of the error. He said *I am sorry bro but I can come out the next day/day* afterwards. Never showed up. I called/texted him all week then he said he is busy with other jobs, he will come on Friday. Friday same thing, never showed up. I paid him $150 plus an extra $20 tip plus I bought all the materials. Now I have rehired someone else or fix it myself. So much for trying to hire local small businesses and support them, just a waste of time and money. Frustrated homeowner but lesson learned. FYI: I did not schedule them. I put in a request on Angie List/Home Advisor but did not book an appointment. But somehow they got a request for an appointment for 11:30 is today with me. A bit strange but something to beware of using Angie/Home Advisor. He did call me and missed his call at 10:30 am which would have cleared up my shock when I saw them show up at my door. "Not happy with the service or attitude I got from David when I asked him to repair the improper installation of a barn door and a bifold door. He also gave me an attitude when I told him that the exterior door had multiple scratches on it. He asked me what I did to it. Asked him to fix the bifold doors because they were crooked. He used his hand to bang the doors and said thatâ s all that I had to do. The next day when I attempted to open the door, it fell off of the track. All in, we spent about $10k on doors and his attitude makes me regret it. Lastly, he overcharged me for the installation and deposit. I had to send him the cancelled checks and Venmo payments. He never acknowledged that he was wrong until I followed up to make sure we were on the same page. Mind you, no apology was provided. If you decide to work with him- check all of the payments, thoroughly look at the installed products, get the warranties (he wonâ t give them to me) before you make the final payments, and keep your animals secure because his workers like to leave doors open."
