Description of Work: I paid for what amounted to be a free estimate. The gentleman was nice, discussed options, but within 30 seconds he was pitching their most expensive solution. Less than a minute. AND I paid for this. I got a separate free estimate from another company that gave me similar options and costs were almost the same.

Description of Work: deal was $99 and $250 toward basement waterproofing. only wanted sump pump and backup system checked. Tech found leak in pipe,replaced pipes system,installed new sump pump leaving backup system intact. Sump now runs |more often. Turned into rather expensive procedure.

Description of Work: This company installed a water-powered, back-up sump pump for me. It worked fine, but after the installation, my pre-existing sump pump could no longer turn itself off after draining the basement of storm water. Comfort Basement came out to the house to try to solve the problem. At first, they didn't succeed, so the same thing happened again with another storm. However, the installer kindly came out again, and this time the problem was resolved. The whole process was frustrating, but I really appreciated the fact that they returned twice at no extra charge. I'm only sorry they had to put in so many hours that (I'm sure) they lost money by having me as a customer!

He was very thorough and showed us documentation on different methods for basement waterproofing. He showed us the materials, measured everything out, and he followed up with us. However, afterwards, he was slow and all of a sudden the hurricane hit and I thought that I’m not going to hear from these guys.

They did a good job. They came out and analyzed the problem. The guy who came out, I think was the owner. It was a small enough job that he did not have to use any of his other crew. He did a fine job and he was on time. I check it daily and it seems to work properly.
Description of Work: They worked on a sump pump that runs continuously when it is raining. They changed the discharge pipe so both pumps work properly. He replaced a switch that was malfunctioning.

Very nice and professional people. But the service I bought wasn't what I thought it would be. I thought it would be to fix cracks that had shown water leakage. After the conversation with their owner, I found out this would not solve my problem or be guaranteed. He was very nice and I u dear stand why but now my money was non refundable for service that was not preform or wouldn't make a difference anyway. Again they were very nice. I should have ask more question before I jump into it,

Nothing was done. UPDATE: 10/21/1220 - contractor refuses to refund deposit even after I explain that because I no longer have the rest of the money, I am out of work, job prospects are nil. WARNING: Consumer advocates warn never to give any money up front. This warning seems to be too late for me since the contractor refuses to give me back my $4500 deposit. NO work has been done, nothing, nada, so I do not understand why he just doesn't give me back my deposit. I spoke to some homeowner advocates who advise me to seek legal action and report this contractor to the Better Business Bureau.
Description of Work: The job was not performed. I tried to cancel the job because I lost my job and I'm unable to secure another teaching job. I previously paid $4500 down payment. When I called to canceled the job I was told I could not get my money back because materials had been purchased. I'm sorry I signed to have this work done. Now I'm out of $4500. I am unable to pay the balance that is due on this job as explained. No work has been done, I have not seen the gentleman who I contracted to do the work. It seems that one could use the same materials on another job or return to the material to place of purchase. I do not understand.

As you can see by all of our past reviews, we take all of our customer's reports and comments about our work and business practices extremely serious. We pride ourselves in the fact that we treat people like people, and not just another client. We want to be Fair and Just when it comes to our pricing and how we negotiate our contractual agreements and fulfill our obligations as well as how we handle issues such as this one. We understand that situations like the member do happen and we are very sympathetic to the circumstances she is in; therefore, we are always open to work out an arrangement that would work for both the client and the company. We did give the member a call back as soon as we got her message which indicated her wish to cancel just days before she was scheduled for install and offered her the option to complete the job at a later date when she was able to pay the balance due and when her financial situation got better. The member did agreed to that offer, she thought it was a good idea because she really needed the work done and wanted to deal with the flooding issues in her basement. The conversation ended in a good note, no indication of any mis-communication or disagreement. I told the member to please call me as soon as she was ready to have the work done and that was the last I heard from her until October 5th, 2012 at Approximately 1:00 pm, after viewing her post I immediately called her in response to her Angie's List Review. I just saw the member's review today and that is why I am responding today. When I called the member she had no desire to talk about the matter any longer. I informed her that I would like to further discuss the matter and see if we can resolve this but she said she had another call and could not speak and she quickly ended the call. I am still waiting for her call back. Again, We are sorry to hear about the member's situation and I am urging her to please call the office as soon as she is able to so in order to resolve this issue. Unfortunately the deposit cannot be refunded since all contacts are final after three business days and materials, rentals, labor, deposits were already paid towards this job. But my previous offer still stands as well as this one. The member can chose any one of the two options. I am offering the member a rough casting service on a section of the front wall where she has had flooding and to install a sump pump plus a pit (crock) in that same area in exchange for the $4,500 deposit. This offer is a rough casting service on a section of one wall + waterproofing services on that section of that one wall and the previous order canceled. This way, Member, you will be able to get your money's worth in waterproofing & rough casting services and not owe a balance in the end. Please let me know if this is acceptable, I am more than willing to get this work done for you as soon as possible. The technician was just wonderful. I felt comfortable having him in my home. I would highly recommend him. He showed me pictures of the possible damage and went over all of my options. I plan to call him back once I have reviewed all of the prices. All of the work is guaranteed and transferrable. I was also really impressed that he had an identification tag with his picture.

When Jesse showed up, he took a good amount of time to think about the job and come up with some creative ideas to make the job run smoothly. The first day was just for job preparation.
