Description of Work: They used a camera to determine where my underlying drains are in my lower level of my house. They used spray paint to paint arrows where the underlying lines were.

Description of Work: On one of the hottest days of the year, our A/C was not keeping up. George checked out the system, cleaned outdoor coils, replaced a contactor, and gave us an operational tip. The PPL peak lockout boxes were part of the problem. We now turn the system on earlier in the day so that it does not have to run as long to catch up.

Description of Work: We had a leak in our hot water heater. when I called they were very courteous and sent plumber out the next day. He showed up on time and was very professional. He did a fine job repairing the heater. It did seem that it was taking a long time and after he was done he spent about half hour in driveway pulling equipment out of his truck. I wasn't sure what he was doing. Although I was satisifed with the service I was disappointed with the price. For the time spent, I feel it was higher than I expected

Description of Work: I called them because my shut off valve to my washer was stripped open. They came exactly on time and replaced both the hot and cold valves. The whole process was very smooth.

Description of Work: I had a toilet leaking onto the floor and was going to just do the puttying myself. Good thing I called the plumber because that wasn't the problem. The plumber came to the house with a smile in his face and went right to work. Found a corroded connector and replaced it. Job done quickly. I wish the cost of just coming out was less but the plumber did not waste time and my money.

Description of Work: I discovered today (that is, a gas company official discovered today) that my water heater was not vented through the chimney as it is supposed to be, thereby spewing carbon monoxide all over my house. Fortunately, my house is over a 100 years old and quite drafty, which is probably the only reason me and my cat are still alive today! Anyway, the gas company had to shut down the water heater until it could be fixed - which means no hot water over the weekend if I couldn't get it fixed today. I immediately called HL Bowman, having used their services several times in the past, and they sent Tony over right away. He of course was as prompt and professional as always and after spending several hours at my house - venting the water heater, patching up the brickwork where the vent entered the chimney - I was back in business and spent a measily $260 to get there! I cannot say enough good things about this company. They are a real gem.
