I have a property management company and need reliable vendors to service my rental properties. HL Bowman is definitely on my list. I call, they come out and its done!! They are VERY punctual. By the time I called to follow up to confirm the appointment, HL Bowman was already on the scene and working on the problems. Prices are VERY reasonable and they do business very effectively. They were very responsive to my call first thing in the a.m. I was told they would call before arriving and they did. Fred actually arrived a bit early, which was great. They were in and out in 2 hours. Fred even shared a tip for extending the life of the water heater....Sorry, you'll have to call Bowmans and ask for Fred for that info. I have a feeling they may have fit me in As Fred got pulled off a job to do this work as promised. Overall, great job..

I phoned Bowman in mid-morning, and the receptionist stated that the plumbers make no commission, and no additional repairs above what was needed would be forced on me. The technician arrived by mid afternoon the same day, repaired the leak easily and quickly, and the water was turned on with no leaking, job well done, charge: $ 90. Summary: HL Bowman performed exactly (and only) the needed repair with quick and professional expertise. This was far different from the previous estimate I had from a differrent company, where the high-pressure salesman stated my hot water heater needed replacing, and if I replaced it on that day, they would give me a reduced price of $ 750 instead of $ 1000 if I waited until later ! Bottom line: HL Bowman did a great job, saved me alot of money, and I will call them immediatly for my next job.

I really like using their service. They were very prompt and they cleaned up well after themselves. The technician was very professional and he wore booties on their shoes. He was wonderful and to great to work with.

Came on time and did everything in a professional manger. Had to cut access into shower area through closet, I wish I cut use a saw as expertly as the technician that did my job. I was really impressed with the gentlemen clean up skills. Defiantly would use this company again. The new Delta hardware makes a huge difference in form and function. The plumber from Bowman set to work identifying the source of the leak. He had to break away some of the living room's plaster ceiling to do so, but he opened only as much area as required to identify the problem. The whole was subsequently speedily repaired by a plasterer we hired. The plumber tracked the water to a galvanized water supply tube that had developed a hole. He neatly replaced the problematic section of pipe, thereby ending the leak, and cleaned up everything thoroughly. He advised eventual replacement of other galvanized pipe sections before the replacement of our bathroom floor, which is on our agenda for future improvements. The job was done efficiently and professionally, and the plumber was very courteous and friendly, explaining what he was doing.

They responded quickly to my Angie's List e-mail and explained all of the fees upfront over the phone. They arrived when they agreed and performed the service efficiently and with professionalism. I was very pleased with their quick response and happy with the service. I was not surprised or overwhelmed with the bill because everything was explained upfront. I would use this company again.

They responded very quickly to my request. We were put on the first run of the following day and they even arrived early! Verified the system needed to be replaced and made very quick arrangements to get a price that we approved and replacement on its way. They were done in a fairly short time (with heroics of getting it in the house with all the banked snow around the back...) and left the place spotless! I also had a couple other questions that they took the time to answer for me. Very professional. Would definitely use for any plumbing needs!!!

They've done work for us a couple of times in the last six months. They are very good. They have put in a new hot water tank for us as well as routine plumbing repairs in our bathroom. I called them in the morning and they came out in the afternoon and fixed it. They have this one technician named Tony and he;s a really good guy. He's not only very professional but also we had a number of questions about plumbing and completely renovating the bathroom. He gave us some good advice about that. He's a really good guy to work with. H L Bowman would be the first one's I'd call if I needed plumbing work.

Tony was great. He was on time, clear, and helpful in explaining what needed to happen for the jobs to be done right. I was very pleased with all of the work and how quickly he completed everything. I will be sure to call Bowman again during the next stages of my renovation.

After diagnosing the multiple issues, the plumber did the job the right way, not just the easy way. He replaced my old copper pipes that had been repaired many times and often freeze (despite leaving the water on drip) with PEX piping as well as insulated it. Even tough it took a few hours and involved another technician coming to complete the job, the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend them, and will using them again if I have further plumbing needs.

I moved on to the next contractor. Overall, their work may be quality, but my initial impression is that their integrity is questionable. You can make your own call.

Arrived on time. Tony was very polite and efficient. I had just had a bad experience with another Angies list plumber ( who pushed to replace this 8 year old toilet which I thought was rather drastic. Then he offered to fix it for $278. He made it clear that he only stocked one toilet mfg parts and the guy proceeded to push for a new toilet from his line- I paid $79.00 for this call). ANYWAY, Tony was polite, professional, and prompt. The total amount saved by calling HL Bowman = $180.00 Need I say more?

They replied to my Angie's List message very quickly and supplied a precursory quote. I was able to get a technician scheduled within a couple hours of my initial request. The technician was very proficient and completed the job in an hour. He was very diligent in cleaning up and offer some advice in regards to a leaking faucet nozzle.

They are always professional and on time. There was a misunderstanding about one appointment time but we scheduled two appointments for two different days at the same time. By the time I called to say the technician was late they promptly rechecked the problem and had him out to our house within the hour. We're very pleased with this company and will use again. There is an extra charge for travel but we're north of Harrisburg so that's understandable.

The week of Thanksgiving, our kitchen faucet actually broke. We were unable to operate the sink and had to shut off the water at the valve source. I did go to a local hardware store and get a replacement faucet, but it was too tight a space and the faucet hardware was too old and frozen in place for me to remove the old unit, much less install the new one. I called H. L. Bowman on a Wednesday (Nov 27th) and they were booked solid but said they could provide someone on Friday (Nov 29th). They called on Friday morning and told me the name of the repair agent and the time they would arrive. They arrived on time. The repair agent was very professional and cordial. He was in a company truck and dressed appropriately. He immediately got to work and repaired the kitchen faucet and installed the new unit. The kitchen sink is now fully operable. Although this seems like an easy do-it-yourself repair, this time it wasn't. H. L. Bowman did a super job. We have used them on more than one occasion. We highly recommend their professional services and believe their prices are extremely fair.

The technicians were great, personable, and provided the service in under the time they estimated. However they did thank me for saving them time because I prepped the whole area for them by moving all furniture and drop ceiling tiles, etc. I really like the new unit install so far, but it has only been a day. I will update this if anything changes. The only problem I had with HL Bowman was getting a second estimate from them. I had to apply for financing which they offer through AFCFirst, and I was approved by the loan company for the amount of the 14 SEER system they quoted me on, but not for the efficiency rating on the system. There was a little confusion on their part when I requested the first estimate, as to me wanting to use financing. So I had to request an estimate for a higher SEER system from them, and they took about two weeks to get back to me with a new estimate. It then took another week to get all the loan paperwork squared away, and then another week to work me into their schedule. Had their prices not been so good compared to their competition, the time of year being ok to put off a heat pump install, and the option of financing, I may have went with a different company. However I am happy with the work performed.

Replaced a part that allowed my water in my bath.room showers to have much more volume. Part and service $135.

Mechanic was very professional and it only took him a half hour. Toilet works beautiful now. In 2006 my heat pump was going bad in the dead of winter. I called numerous Plumbing, Heating and AC companies on a weekend for some help. Most didn't want to be bothered on a weekend ( including some you list favorably in your bulletin ) except H L Bowman. They were very helpful in getting us some temporary heat over the weekend and eventually replaced our whole heating system. They get all my plumbing, heating and air conditioning work because they were the only one to respond when I was in dire need of service. Another example of their promptness and concern for the customer was in 2011 when I was having sump pump problems in the basement. Water was accumulating and I couldn't get the sump pump to work. It was around Midnight on a Sat. My wife called H L Bowman and they sent a mechanic immediately! He got it working and even helped me find the pipe outside that was actually covered up. He dug it open and we finally got the water pumped out. I couldn't believe they came out at that hour. They subsequently installed a new heavy duty sump pump for me. These people are amazing. Also, in 2010 my water heater was leaking. They responded promptly to that and installed a new Bradford White Hot water heater. I can only say good things about this contractor. I just wish more were like them. They deserve the highest rating you give to contractors.

He arrived right on time, at 7:30. He quickly saw what was leaking on the toilet and replaced that line. He cut off the rusty caps on 3 toilets and replaced one with a plastic cap and gave me a broken cap to take to buy more (which were actually MUCH less as Home Depot). He took apart the leaky faucet in the kitchen with much trouble, even though it is only 2 or 3 years old. He said the major companies do not make replacement parts for the faucets they sell in box stores. He could fix this one, but I am liable to have more problems again soon. He did not have the one I wanted on his truck so went and got it and came back and replaced it. The new faucet is much nicer and feels more solid than the last one I bought. It took about 2 hours.
