H L Bowman was absolutely fantastic! Earlier in the morning I had set up an appointment with another "bigger" plumbing company. Upon this other company arriving an absolutely ridiculous and price gauging estimate was given. I dismissed the estimate and did what I should have done in the first place which is call HL Bowman. When I called HL Bowman it was around 10 A.M. and I was not sure if I could schedule a same day appointment but low and behold they were able to fit me in the same day!! At around 2 P.M. the technician Jessie showed up and was extremely courtesy and professional. He looked at the sink and got right to work explaining exactly what he was going to do and the best way to go about it. The other great thing about HL Bowman is they told me their pricing right up front on the phone before the technician got there. None of this "we price by the project" stuff like the other guys. So I had a pretty good idea what the project was going to cost. After about 2 hours Jessie had finished up the sink and it worked perfectly and looked great. He had to reroute some of the plumbing under the sink but it looks good as new. And when it was all said and done the project cost me about 1/4 of what the estimate I got from "the other guy" was!! I could not be happier and I highly recommend HL Bowman and I see why they are so highly rated on Angies List. I will use them again 100% for any of my Plumbing or HVAC needs in the future. John was very pleasant and professional. Even tightened bathtub handle for free. Highly recommended for reliable service. I called another plumber I had used in the past but he did not seem to want to be bothered. My guess is after I explained the problem he had no idea what the solution was.

He arrived on time. The service was provided quickly. I was happy with the work that was done.

We had a problem with water backing up in our basement and water bubbling into the shower when the toilet was flushed. HL Bowman showed up the next day to take a look at it and snaked our drains. This didn't immediately fix the issue and it turned out that we also needed our septic pumped and required them to come back out to our house several times. Each time they were responsive and accurate with their time estimates, extremely professional and helpful. It took a couple days but the problem was fixed and everything is back in working order. The ladies in the office are also wonderful to deal with! We had a slight billing issue and they were apologetic and fixed it immediately. Great people to work with, would absolutely recommend.

Partial repair to toilet, failed to repair faucet set. Cleaned flapper valve to prevent running on, but could not repair the handle which does not return on its own. Did not have repair parts for toilet, did not return as promised to complete repair. No repair was made to faucet set because the plumber couldn't figure out how to get it apart(!). Failed to return as promised to complete repair. The plumber who performed the work claimed to have 30+ years experience, but that's difficult to reconcile with his performance. We paid for over an hour of work, but we ended up with maybe five minutes of results.

Didnt know that the furnace needed 4 switches upon arrival but founf out it needed them. The orginal mechanic ordered the parts for more expensive then they shouldve been and I founf this out when he was out with the flu and Jeremy took his place and came to do the job instead. I ended up paying $20 a piece for the parts because jeremy ordered directly from the company. It all seemed shady.They extended the Angie's List discount and also a veteran discount which was meaningful to me.

It took over 3.5-4 hours for the gentleman to install 2 faucets on both sinks! We supplied both sets of faucets. We were given an estimate of $90.00 per hour. The tech chipped the porcelain on our sink. Not until we were given the bill were we in sticker shock-$500.! Claimed it was the parts he used. Would you pay $500? Why were not informed during or before? This is outrageous. We will take our business elsewhere.

Response was within an hour of my calling. Drain was cleared and area cleaned up.

Responded quickly to request for service; showed up on time for appointment; diagnosed problems; had materials to fix the problem on his truck; replaced parts in toilet and tightened shower head. Remembered to add Angie's List discount to bill. Was very nice and polite. I will use this company again.

I was very impressed with these guys. I got a discount for the labor. They sent a fellow out here and the guy had all the materials that were needed. He knew what he was doing. He came in, I showed him what he needed to do and it took him about an hour-an-and-a-half to take care of what had to be done. The work was very good. The cost had included soldering some valves into the copper tubing and same with the shuttle valves. Everything was done nice and neat and the soldering joints were very good. They told me what they'll do and they give the price of the product and the cost of the labor and approximately how long it would take. He was there when he said he would be there.

As with our past dealings with H L Bowman, professionalism was the word of the day. They responded promptly, courteously, and professionally. They showed up on time and conducted their business in an orderly, efficient manner. I had a morning appointment and the service technician was here for about an hour. They inspected our HVAC system (inside and outside), cleaned lines, and conducted a general operational check. We received a nice debrief prior to departure. We have used them at least three times over the past couple of years and we will continue to do so in the future. Their service is top notch and their pricing is reasonable. I highly recommend considering H L Bowman for any of their service offerings that you may require.

When I first contacted HL Bowman's I only wanted a quote on a new AC unit. They gave me one. After 3 other estimates, I asked them to also give me an estimate for a heat pump and a furnace (i currently had baseboard electric) since there was a gas line that ran on my property. They gave me an estimate that was very reasonable and below all of the other estimates I received. We were waiting on UGI to get their piece done, to begin. Once they began, they were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. I always got a response when I called. I am very happy with their services.

I called the office early last week to obtain a quote for a toilet replacement and water valve replacement. I spoke to Barry, who was very informative, friendly and patient with all my questions. He quoted me the hourly rates and gave me an estimate of 1 1/2-2 hrs. for the job with a cost of approx. $220. Note: Bowman's discounts the hourly rate, if you buy the toilet (or other products) from Bowmans, but I already had my toilet, so I paid the regular rate. Barry got me in the same week. Plumber, John showed up promptly and set to work. He not only got the job done in 1 hour, he pointed out that the water valve only had a cracked washer, changed it and put a new knob on the water valve. He installed my toilet seat and cleaned up all the box material from the new toilet and took the old toilet with him. Job done in 1 hr. 20m. I was very happy with Bowman and plan to use them again. They do HVAC work, as well. I also texted their information to all my friends! Thanks, guys :).

They guy was friendly. He had to ask for someone to drop off a toilet then it was done within a couple hours, I was very happy.

Arrived on time and made sure enough was done for the washer and dryer hook-up the next day. Made sure they got the job done on time

Angie's Members: Stop your search, and call this company now. Just call them. I was impressed w/ their listing here on Angies, so I called for an A/C repair issue on a 91-degree day. The associate, Brian, who took the call was awesome: He listened patiently while I described my problem, responded w/ professional advice & empathy, & assured me they would be out that day to check it out. Later, the tech was on-site, (again) very professional and courteous, and all my instructions were well followed. They quoted a part w/ service MUCH cheaper than I had expected. The visit was discounted b/c i mentioned finding them on AL. My questions were met w/ patience, helpfulness, & flexibility in options. I came away with the problem well resolved & a new residential HVAC provider! By precept & example, this company is honest, prompt, & in business with the idea of gaining & keeping loyalty. Thanks, Bowman, for helping me out promptly in a pinch! Everyone else, call & see for yourselves!

I live nearly 6 hours away from the area, and I was able to arrange for them to perform the work without me being on site. Their price was extremely reasonable, and the communication was great.

I called on the 19th and explained the problem and Tina said she would get someone out as soon as possible. (Very friendly and concerned due to the weather conditions.) The next morning they called and said a service man was available later that morning, his name was George and he would be in a Company truck. I liked that because it gives a customer a secure feeling. George was prompt, extremely professional and provided an explanation of the problem and an estimate of the repair. The price was reasonable and he worked diligently to fix the problem in no time. The bill was $50 lower than the estimate. I will use H.L. Bowman for all my future HVAC services and recommend them to friends and neighbors. Excellent job, thank you!

They were very responsive did a good job.

Great, I called and got plumbing service the same day. We were also given the 1st time Angie membership 10% service discount without presenting a coupon. We will definitely use them again if we need plumbing services.

System was serviced, they noticed the refrigerant was low and add some more to the system for an additional $60.

Quick response to my email inquiry. Arranged site visit to provide free estimate within short period of time. At site visit offered information on issue. Provided written estimate the next day, and scheduled service in timely fashion. Very reasonably priced. Service performed by two knowledgeable technicians, who were courteous and worked diligently. Very pleased with this company, and have recommended them to my neighbors with the same issue.

Installation went well. Installers arrived and finished on time. New unit looks nice. Unit does not qualify for PA Energy Save Rebate however as only contractor GF Bowman is a participant, not HL Bowman. Heat pump has been making some loud noises lately which HL Bowman came out and inspected. The HL Bowman repairman said the noises are normal.

Tony from HL Bowman had originally come to my home to repair a broken toilet. He arrived promptly and he performed the work both quickly and professionally (that is to say, he put down appropriate coverings to protect flooring and then cleaned up after work was done). His price was very fair. When the faucet head in my sink needed replacing, I called HLBowman and asked for Tony to come out and do the work. Again he arrived promptly and removed and replaced the faucet head. He made sure to put down materials to prevent the floor from being dirty. All of his tools were gathered and he cleaned the area up prior to departing. Not only does Tony do great work but he is also a nice guy- the kind of repair person you trust to be in your home when you are there alone. I would definitely use this company again.
