Called after hours and received prompt call the following morning to schedule service (it was not an emergency). They could have accommodated my schedule that same day, but I couldn't make it work, so we scheduled the following day. Plumber came in the appointed window of time and the problem appears to now be fixed.

Technician was friendly and helpful; reviewed hot water heater and suggested that it may be covered under warranty (which it was); did the additional work of calling into the distributor with serial # of unit to verify unit was covered and saved me the cost of a new unit; would definitely hire again!

We called HL Bowman during a very hot weekend in August when our AC stopped cooling and began leaking water. Their staff was able to come out within 24 hours of us calling. The tech was very knowledgeable, provided tips for maintenance, and diagnosed the issue quickly. The parts were ordered and unit fixed within a few days. They were definitely worth the money spent for quality, prompt service

My experience was outstanding. I had agreed to fix "plumbing leaks in the basement", however the inspection report did not specify any leaks. HL Bowman looked at the report and instead of making things up to repair, walked me through everything in the report, then did an inspection of my basement plumbing to look for any possible leaks. He could have said that any number of things were leaking and I wouldn't have known better, but instead reassured me of all of the things that we shouldn't be concerned about, then found anything that COULD be evidence of a leak. I felt like the service man was honest with me, helpful, and I didn't feel taken advantage of when he left. I'll call them every time from here on out!

Called on a Tuesday, job was done the next day. Called 30 minutes prior to arrival which I liked better than the normal 8-12 or 1-4 range. He had to snake the drain twice. Plumber was very nice and suggested a product to help maintain a clear drain. Wasn't fully prepared. He needed a bucket, rags, and paper towels. Not a huge deal, just something to note. A little more expensive than I expected just to snake a drain.

Fantastic!! They answer their phone, had available appointments within 2 days. Called 30 minutes before arrival and then showed up on time. The tech, Jeremy was awesome!! Very knowledgeable, gave me all kinds of tips on what to watch for, suggestions on maintenance, didn't try to sell me anything but gave me things to watch for so I'll know when the 23 year old system will need to be replaced. Explained what he was doing and why. Great experience! I've found my HVAC company!

New refrigerator purchased and in process of removing old unit found that copper water line was crimped badly. I also wanted the saddle valve at source replaced with a more reliable vale, so I called HL Bowman for estimate on a Thursday. Quoted price of $40 travel fee and $75 per hour was most reasonable among the high quality providers, and plumber came out on Monday. He worked thru a slightly challenging installation with ease, with a lot of running up and down to basement. Had a new valve and coiled copper wire installed in about 90 minutes. Not cheap but work done at a much higher level of quality than before.

Excellent service, will use them again.

This company responded to my initial voicemail inquiry to arrange for an estimate only an hour or two after I had called. A date and time was set up to come over to my son's house for the estimate. The service man arrived promptly. The proposal for the job was emailed to me within a day or two, along with 2 different brochures for a single stage and a dual stage variable furnace, that I could examine. I mailed the signed proposal back to H L Bowman, along with a 1/3 down payment. The job wasn't able to be scheduled until about a month after my first contact, but that was no problem. On the day of the work, 2 men arrived 15 minutes early at 7:15 AM and got right to work. They worked diligently all day until about 4 PM, only taking a short break for lunch. At the end of the job, they had removed and cleaned up all of the old metal parts, ductwork, and the old oil tank. In its place was a shiny, new gas furnace. They also made sure before they left, that they explained the various parts of the furnace to me and also how to replace the filter. I was impressed with H L Bowman's promptness and professionalism from the first contact for an estimate, to the quality of the job they did when it was completed. We will use this company for any HVAC service needs.

I think the plumber's name was John - he arrived exactly on time - was extremely knowledgeable and professional - explained in detail everything he was doing and made sure I understood it (I was able to pass the info on to my husband later that evening) their prices were very competitive and I must say I'm sorry I didn't find them earlier - before I signed a one year agreement with another company to do my yearly heating/cooling maintenance.

We have had another company deliver oil to our home and service our furnace since we bought the house. There was always some weirdness about contacting them -- they weren't friendly, the appointments were difficult to schedule, the person who shows up was significantly late or significantly early and not very friendly ... we will continue to use them for oil delivery, however, our last service appointment was canceled and they didn't leave us a message to inform us of the cancellation; I'd had enough. I searched the list and saw great reviews for HL and wanted to give them a try. I want a company that is easy and professional to deal with, one that if something ever does go wrong with our furnace, they'll be accommodating and reasonable. We decided to try HL because they responded quickly to my initial email. I called to schedule an appointment and, to my surprise, they offered to come out the next day, first thing in the morning. The technician, Jeremy, arrived on time, was very friendly, neat and took a few extra minutes to talk about what he was doing, explaining some features on our furnace and talking about the company. My wife and I immediately felt comfortable with him. I showed Jeremy the receipts for the previous preventative maintenance checks (oily carbon copy slips our previous technician slid between wires on a floor joist in the basement) and he explained that after he left, the office would send out a receipt for the work that he performed. Several days later, as promised, we got a nice, clean receipt that's legible, along with a nice refrigerator magnet. Overall, our experience was great: friendly people (via email, on the phone and in person), professionalism (Jeremy knew what he was doing, he was neat and he arrived on time and explained how long he'd be) and a correct bill for the right service.

Early morning Weds of last week we discovered a pipe burst underneath our toilet spraying water in a rooster tail on the wall, floors. We reviewed Angie's List for contractors and reached out to three (3). It was early morning, probably before 8AM and the one that called immediately was H. L. Bowman. Courteous, professional and communicative - - when they called us they said they could come the same day! We would use this group again in an instant. The plumber assessed the leak and repaired it timely. Thank you for your help during a critical situation!

The person answering the phones is always courteous, but what I really appreciate is the level of expertise of the repairmen that come, and how nice they are! They do a thorough job, clean up after themselves, and always educate me on how to avoid the issue at hand happening again. The coat is very competitive and up to half off of what I've paid with other companies!!! (Guesstimate on the price for this service as they are not yet done installing an additional valve)

After waking up to the smell of burning dust and a noise that could not mean anything good, my husband and I realized that our 18 year old gas furnace was trying to die on us. Not a good feeling to say the least. I had used HL Bowman last summer for some plumbing work and was VERY pleased. I called them fairly early this morning, and to be honest I assumed that I would get an answering service or answering machine. Instead, the phone was answered on the 2nd ring and in less than 3 minutes I had a service call scheduled. Responsive? You bet! I was told a technician would arrive late morning and a technician arrived by 10:30. Punctual? Absolutely! The technician (I hate that I forgot his name) diagnosed our problem almost immediately and had us up and running by 12:00. (And that includes the time it took him to go pick up the part we needed). Quality, Integrity and Professionalism beyond compare! Thank you H.L. Bowman for being an honest and professional company. I will tell all of my neighbors and friends about you! My only regret is that you don't also do electrical work. :)

A service provider came out in July due to my low water pressure and said my water pressure tank was going bad (cost to replace would be ~$800). Not satisfied (water pressure tank wasn't that old), I contacted HL Bowman. I told the technician what I had been told by the other service provider. The technician started from the ground up in terms of diagnosing the issue, walking me through the steps he was taking (I was curious). In the end, it ended up being a loose valve stem. Since my pressure switch was in a bad state, the technician replaced that too after asking for my approval. Instead of simply chalking up and having me replace my water pressure tank, the technician was honest, professional, answered all my questions, and left me happy as I saved a whole bunch of money.

Very well. The H.L. Bowman team was very competent--working on salary, not a commission so no pressure to purchase more than we required. The new unit is much more efficient and quieter than the replaced unit and we are very happy with the work done. Labor/instillation charge appeared high but one has to remember that proper installation by experienced professionals is the single most important component for a heat pump purchase and it is essential that you go for proven competence and not cut corners. Remember to ask for and claim all utility rebates you are entitled to (which in our case practically covered the installation cost).

I called this morning (it was very hot). They were here within two hours! George, the service technician, was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He had my air back up and running within an hour. This is probably the best service I have ever received from a in home repair company!

overall it went good. There were some issues with the hot water not being circulated to all the baseboard registers after the initial installation, but they returned promptly after I informed them of this and corrected the issue.

It went very well. Kitchen facet was quickly fixed and recommendations were made for laundry room facet. Jesse was very knowledgeable and informative.

I cannot say enough. I messaged for service, described the problem, and gave my contact information. By 7:36 the next morning, I had a reply to my message, and by 7:39 am, I had a phone call. We arranged for service the next day. The plumber was tied up with a service call before me that took unexpectedly longer than anticipated. The office kept me informed all day, but ultimately arranged for the plumber to come after business hours to hold up their end of the commitment. After a very long day for him, he arrived as unfatigued and as pleasant as if I was the first call of the day. He explained everything, endured a thousand paranoid questions from me, tolerated my hyperviligilence on everything, and worked steadily. Of course, the problem was easily solved and I had made a mountain out of a mole hill. He cleaned up everything spotlessly and still apologized for not doing a good enough job, even though I couldn't understand when he was referring to. He gave great, reasonable recommendations on plumbing maintenance and timelined other plumbing-related projects we might want to consider. The whole experience was a relief and now, we have a great, reliable plumber we can call on instead of panicking. What could be better?
