It went very well. The gentleman was responsive when I called, arrived on time, and did a great job. Furthermore, he was very helpful and knowledgeable, and he answered all of my questions which I appreciated.
Description of Work: He replaced a light fixture in my powder room, and he diagnosed as well as fixed the source of a leak in the ceiling.

It went so-so, because they were going to have someone contact me to give me a quote on getting new systems and I never heard back from them. He said it was working and it was OK, but it is old, which was accurate and they could get somebody out here who can give me a quote. Then they never contacted me.

This worked out well. No repairs were needed. Nothing really impressed me or no poor was done. The technician was on time and professional throughout. I think scheduling worked out fine. I do not remember anything negative about the experience.

They tried to charge me 1200 for something I got a worker to do for less than $100. I felt that they tried to cheat me. They weren’t prepared to stay for 2 hours and do it for the money I paid.

Overall, I was very happy with the entire process including the quick response on the sales call, the excellent pricing, quick turnaround on the install and the quality of the work. I felt the crew did a great job. They were considerate of the house, patient with my questions and I can tell they were very serious about doing a great installation and not taking any short cuts. I give them an A from start to finish.

Had clog in kitchen sink, double sink with garbage disposal. First call said they could not come out till the following day, but an hour later called and said if I still needed them someone could come by 4:30. Came as promised and did work quickly.

I liked the professionals Lowry sent. The first time I wanted to get a fan light installed, but I had purchased one that could not be used in my house. For them to come back would have cost me the regular electrical fee, so I did not pursue the project at that time. The second time was for a circuit that had gone dead. They were great and got to my house very quickly. The job was done. They are professional and knowledgeable. I just didn't get what I wanted the first time, so I was not sure what grade to give them. But to be fair, they did a good job.

I took the day off because I had to be there as the owner. My tenants confirmed they would be available there as well. We had an appointment between 10-2. He did not show until 5:30. He only waited 30 minutes because I could not get access to my tenant's apartment. He did turn it on, but refused to wait to look at it. It was terrible experience. I wouldn't recommend.
Description of Work: We called them to check on our furnace before we turned it on for the winter.

I signed up for the $49 for $249 worth of electrical services with Lowry. Big mistake--I should have listened to the other reviews, but I'm a sucker for a deal. At least they showed up on time. It became apparent within the first minute that they really had no interest in helping me. I pointed out two light fixtures that had not worked for several months and the repairman immediately said "We don't fix those." OK, I understand that they may not be familiar with every brand of light fixture, but he made no attempt to locate the source of the problem and was not helpful even when I pressed for some more information. We moved on to examine outdoor lights that were also not functioning. He took one look and said it was either the bulb or "something related to the line". Exasperated, I must have blurted out "Can't you tell me anything else?!" And he reluctantly took a closer look and found that the wire connected to the light was frayed. Again, he made it clear that they don't fix these. Since only about 5 minutes had elapsed, the repairman then offered to do a free home inspection. He then found several outlets that were not up to code and also found that the circuit breaker box in the garage was outdated and according to him, should be updated very soon. He then flipped through his binder of services and estimated that the repairs to the problems I didn't know I had and hadn't asked about would be approximately $1,500. NOW the true purpose of the coupon became clear: If I agreed to hire them for these services, then I would be credited the $250!!! Needless to say, I declined and showed him the door. Bottom line, if it's not in their binder, they're not interested in helping you. I will not be calling Lowry for repairs again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! First off all, I agree with the above review. The plumber here was may more concerned with quoting us for 'NEW" items and more service projects than focusing on what the issue was, the sump pump. It did need to be replaced so we had them do the work since they were here. Sump pump was installed in July. Then 3 weeks later, I called because there was a huge storm and the sump pump was not turning on. They came out and fixed it and said the float was sticking to the side. OK, problem fixed... so I thought. On wednesday night (The night before Thanksgiving), I went into the basement to grab some items to pack for our Holiday trip to VA. The basement was completely flooded...6-12 inches all over! I called the company and they came out Friday morning after having to pay $700 to get the water professionally pumped out and not to mention that we missed our trip to our family's house for Thanksgiving. When they came out they said that it was the float again and that it was their fault that it was installed too close to the wall. Ok, so we then we told to call and discuss with the manager, on Monday since it was a holiday weekend and he wasn't in. Boy, that is so nice that the manager is able to enjoy his holiday with his family and we were there cutting up rugs, cleaning, and throwing away all of our personal belongings. So, Monday rolls along and again we call (I am still confused why as the customers, we are the ones calling the manager). The manager, Joe Haney, is still not available. He is either in meetings or on vacation until Wednesday, we are not sure because we get different answers from the secretaries. Then my husband gets a call from their insurance company who wants to come out to survey it. Well, I am guessing Joe Haney got the message about what happened since he was able to call his insurance company but still the customers that just went through a hardship due to their stupidity, still did not receive a call from A NYONE from Lowry. Well, I sure hope Joe Haney had a fabulous Thanksgiving with his family...we sure didn't. You would think one 5 minute call to an unhappy customer would be something easy and kind to do around the holidays. I guess Lowry doesn't value that. Oh, and good thing my husband works for a law firm...
Description of Work: Installed a sump pump, came back and repaired the issue (or so we thought). Flooded basement in result of poor workmanship. Lowry not responding to the unhappy customer!

I did not use Lowry for the job in which they provided an estimate, and this is solely because of the estimate. First, they charge to provide an estimate. Seriously. $49. For an estimate. Second, I received another estimate from a second company, and found that Lowry's estimate was 600% (yes, six hundred percent) higher than the second company's estimate ($250 versus $1700). The estimated amount of time for the job is 4 hours. (And the estimate from the second company was free.) While I understand that prices vary from company to company, I cannot understand a price differential such as the one I received. The word "gouging" comes to mind. What a horrible way to do business.

The poor guy who did the work was great. Lovely, professional, competent. This company however is a SCAM and price gauges. Disgusting and unethical. I had asked for an estimate to install 6 high hats and I provide all parts - $2300!!!!! UNETHICAL!!!!! More than 2x what it should cost WITH THEM PROVIDING ALL PARTS. This is one of the most unethical companies I've encountered. Preys on people with emergency work or who don't know any better. When I called the office to let them know that they were way overpriced, the woman on the phone was rude and apathetic. I assume all the admin and workers are so used to hearing how they are price gougers that it no longer impacts them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - massive rip-off.
Description of Work: Flipped out ONE ELECTRICAL SWITCH (that I provided). Gave me the most unethical estimate I've ever seen for other work.

My only comment is that it took them over a week to make the first contact with me but the message indicated that they were having trouble retrieving messages from their web site.
Description of Work: Keith did the electrical inspection at our home and was able to determine that the source of our high amp use was due to our well pump. He also labeled the box with what was the well pump which was not known before. He went out to our barn and fixed a faulty wire. Super nice and called the office to have someone look at the well pump in question. Another technician came out the next day but could not determine the problem with the pump and suggested we call the company that had originally installed the pump. No charge and gave us coupons for future services. Would definitely use them again. My contractor also said they are a good company which is how I selected them in the first place.

It turned out OK. I purchased other Big Deals and this one seemed as thought there wasn't all that much extra work so I didn't get the value for what I paid. They did a variety of things such as move a ceiling fan as well as moved some small switches for me. I waited a little while for them to come out and I spent about $300.

I had used Lowry previously to evaluate whether we needed any HVAC work done to our newly purchased home. They mentioned a routine service for our furnace might be a good idea as it cleaned the important parts and ensured a longer furnace life. I scheduled the routine maintenance based on a coupon and thy gentlemen that showed up worked in the basement for about 30 minutes. When he came back upstairs, he reviewed that I needed two very costly repairs and then sounded surprised that I wanted a second opinion before shelling out $1000 (he thought he would make the repairs on the spot). When I asked him what he actually did to the furnace regarding "maintenance," he stated her performed a full inspection but did not actually do anything else. During my second opinion (a local shop), the technician did not mention either of the repairs during his inspection and when I brought them up, he disagreed with the initial assessment. To be more specific, he was concerned the other technician noted a failure of a pump based on an oil residue on the outside of the put indicating failure. This particular pump did not even use oil to operate. He did mention that the condensate pump was filthy and partially clogged and should be cleaned during a routine maintenance service. He also offered to pur some bleach into the line to help clean some of the gunk out until I figured out what I wanted to do about it. There was no repairs needed and no pressure to use them to clean the condensate pump. To make a long story short, I will not be using Lowry in the future.

Contractor was charging $630 for less than one hour of work where I supplied the switch to be mounted. Work completed by another contractor in 45 minutes. I requested service rep check his price quote since it didn't make sense, but the home office confirmed the price an offered an additional $50 off. It seems to me that this BIG DEAL is just a "scam" to get in your house and then sock you with a outrageous price.

It worked out really well. I will call them again! I think they came out twice and I think I ended up paying another $150 or something beyond the big deal amount. It was just really good service. He was here right on time.

The only way they were going to do the work was if I had a screw on faucet. If I had a screw on faucet, I could have done it myself. It would have been a lot more money to have the work done by them. I am getting a refund through Angie's List.

I found that while I took advantage of an Electrical special Lowry's was running, I quickly became interested in their other services as well. I am now using them for all my maintenance issues as they are a full service company with specialist in electrical, plumbing, heating & cooling, etc. For a maintenance fee a year you get preventative services for each of these different areas and the convenience of scheduling and dealing with one company. I am really enjoying that and all their different technicians have been wonderful.

In February, I bought a Big Deal for $49 that was supposed to provide $249 of electric service. In September I asked them for an estimate for installing a transfer switch for a generator. They told me the estimate would cost $50 but that cost would be applied to the work if I went with them. Ordinarily, I wouldn't agree to pay for an estimate knowing others would provide them for free, but I fully expected my $249 credit to allow them to win the job. A representative arrived on time, was completely professional, and gave me an estimate. I obtained three other estimates as well; none of these required payment. All other estimates were for less, some more than $400 less, so I didn't go with this vendor who used my coupon to pay for their estimate, effectively making the estimate worth $249. I had the option to pay the $50 out of my own pocket and keep the coupon but I was afraid the cost for any other service would be similarly noncompetitive and decided to cut my losses.

I bought a Deal coupon for faucet replace during the winter. I did not want to install until spring and they accommodated me with no questions or attitude. WHen I called to schdeule, it was very quick and the person on the phone was great. They called on the day they were coming to say they were ahead of schedule, could they come 30 minutes earlier. Great. The new faucet has a lever to turn off and on. No drips! Looks great! Works great! Even though this was a tiny job, they provided professional service all the way through.
