Pleasant and informative experience.

This was disappointing. A new water heater was not one of the projects I discussed with the first plumber and I think the second plumber tried to explain the high estimates on the water heater because "it's tight in there." The water heater is in a utility closet on a patio, but it's not all that inaccessible. Now I doubt I'll get 10 years out of it--and certainly I should have done more homework on selecting and installing it in the first place--but I don't know that I would call O'Donnell for the replacement because these estimates felt like a rip-off.

They were prompt. I liked the convenience and that they were able to come out. I would use them again in the future.

The whole process went very well. They scheduled the service at my convenience and called me 1/2 hour before arrival within the preplanned window. When the technician arrived he was very professional and considerate - wearing booties whenever he was in the house. He was very informative and even diagnosed an issue I was having with the system that does not affect performance. Overall, I was very pleased with their service and will definitely recommend them to friends.

The guy was punctual and thoroughly checked everything. His prices were reasonable, but I found a plumber who was willing to beat the prices. My house had a lot of plumbing issues that needed to be fixed. The guy from O'Donnell seemed honest to me. The only flaw of him was that one of my pipes had more of a leak after he inspected it than before. The plumber who beat the prices and did the work on my house suspected that the guy from O'Donnell squeezed the already weak pipe and accidentally made a hole in it larger in the process but didn't say anything about it. I don't know if this is true so take it FWIW. Despite this, I'd recommend them for a house plumbing inspection.

The $59 Angie's List special was great. He helped us with some water pressure problems we were having, which was well worth the $59. We also had some leak issues in the MB shower and tub. There was a $150 diagnostic charge... not sure if that charge was worth it, but I believe his proposal for what needs to be done to remedy the leaks was correct. It is a big job, involving tile professionals (which he could not recommend as he could not speak for the quality of another company). So, I needed to call around and get some estimates from bathroom contractors, most of whom want to do both the plumbing and tile work. O'Donnell would have been more likely to get my business if they could have coordinated the whole project for me. But, for future plumbing issues, I will likely call them again.

Called for service when leak was noticed. Immediately got response and appointment. Arrived at scheduled time. Did job art price quoted clean and neat. I have used O'Donnell many times over last 12-15 years. They are always on time, do good work, are very responsive in emergency situations including weekends and in bad weather. They are not cheap--but you get what you pay for. Would recommend and use again.

He was very polite and easy to work with. The inspection was a very positive experience.

He has been our plumber for 8-10 years. They are extremely nice and come right away. We are very happy with them. I would recommend him to anyone.

We had a great experience with O'Donnell at all stages of our project. During the initial estimate, our estimator really took his time to explain all our options and answer our various questions, which is ultimately what sold us (we got a total of four estimates). Gretchen at the main office regularly kept in touch through both phone and email to inform us about financing. We qualified for a low-energy loan through the state, so we had to go through a third party to get the money for the job. The O'Donnell folks stayed on top of all the paperwork admirably, and the financing went through without a hitch. As for the work itself, it went completely smoothly -- the team was polite, punctual, and did an excellent job. But what impressed us the most was that even after the guys encountered some unexpected, unavoidable setbacks in the job -- setbacks which caused them to have to work almost twice as long as their initial estimate -- our final bill remained the same. That level of commitment to an initial price is too rare among contractors, and it was much-appreciated here. It was not a perfect job. They did leave a very small amount of broken glass on our carpet, which could have injured us or our cats (although it didn't). Overall, however, they did make an effort to keep things tidy at the end of each work day -- we never came home to big messes in our living space. They also marked a few grooves into our ceiling in trying to run duct work for the air conditioning. But that work was part of the unplanned portion of the job, and I'm sure they were doing their best to get things done neatly while trying to salvage their original schedule. For this reason, I chose not to say anything about the grooves, and patched them myself without much effort. Those two issues are small, though, and they don't detract from the thorough, professional work that O'Donnell did. Working with this company was a great experience, and we would not hesitate to hire them again.

The work was fine, but I thought they were over priced and a little gaugy. Everybody else that quoted for the same work were a lot less when it was all done. We chose them because they were available. I have no complaints about the work or the professionalism, we just thought they were priced high.

They are very nice, responsive, and come when they say they will. I don't like that they will sometimes point out plumbing issues while checking on my heating system. I have spoke with the owner about it, and he informed me that they are just wanting to point out any potential problems.

If you call them they will come out right away. Most the time they will come out the same day. They will even come out on the weekends and holidays. They do excellent work. They are punctual. Someone in the office will call you back about one or two days after the work to see if everything is doing OK. They guarantee their work, so if a problem comes up they will come out and fix it for free. They put booties on their feet so when they come in your house they don't get your carpet dirty. They are very professional about cleaning up their mess. They are a little pricey though. It is worth every penny.

Quoted estimate for a diagnostic and tune-up was $149.95. Service tech showed up on time (it was a morning appointment and he was actually 5 minutes early, nice touch). The guy looked at the unit, told me it wasn't working (which I already knew) and told me what was wrong. He was unprepared/unable to give me an estimate for repairs or an estimate to entirely replace the system (for either, he wanted me to schedule yet another service call at an additional cost). When it came time to pay, he told me it was $233.91 for a one-year annual service agreement (never mentioned when I made the appointment) and there was no $149.95 tune up. I gladly paid $233.91 to get rid of the guy. I called the company to complain and they told me it was my mistake. On the phone, the rough estimate to replace was $10,000-$11,000. I am replacing the entire unit, but using another company, one that has been more upfront about their pricing and doesn't make me schedule extra appts.

If you need them they are there for you. They are very clean and professional. The follow up is great and will come back if there are any concerns. They are not the cheapest but well worth the money.

Job was called in on an emergency because the leak got to be too bad and out of control. So we called John O'Donnell and sons because we had seen their advertising all over the place. They came and the service man was really good and quickly repaired our problem and improved the drainage system.

The representatives I dealt with were very professional and courteous. They responded to our installation needs very promptly as we were without heat in the winter.

PLUMBER(PAT) DID AN EXPERT JOB. I HAVE HAD O'DONNELL SEVERAL TIMES, AND I AM ALWAYS PLEASED BY THEIR WORK, BUT I HAVE TO SAY THAT I THINK THEIR PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS, EVEN BY MODERN PLUMBING STANDARDS.

THE GENTLEMEN THAT WERE SENT TO THE HOUSE WERE COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. MY WIFE AND I ARE ALREADY PLANNING OUR NEXT HOME IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND PLAN TO ENLIST THEIR HELP ONCE AGAIN. IN OUR AREA THE PRICES WERE RATHER COMPETITIVE, ESPECIALLY FOR THE QUALITY AND CARE OF THE WORK.

A+++ SERVICE. VERY ATTENTIVE TO OUR NEEDS IN NOT DESTROYING CEILING IN KITCHEN. THEY WERE ABLE TO LOCATE LEAK IN BATHROOM AND FIX THE PROBLEM. CLEANED UP AFTER THE WORK WAS COMPLETED AS IF THEY WERE NEVER THERE.

THE PLUMBER WHO CAME ONLY SOLD THE COMPANY LINE. WE WERE ALREADY IN NEED, BECAUSE OUR HOT WATER HEATER HAD FAILED, SO WE HAD TO PURCHASE WHAT HE HAD. IT WAS VERY EXPENSIVE AND I FELT LIKE I WAS NOT GIVEN ANY OPTIONS.

REPRESENTATIVE WAS PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL. AFTER PERFORMING OUTDOOR WORK, HE COVERED HIS SHOES BEFORE ENTERING MY HOME. WHEN ASKED, HE OFFERED ADVICE ON THE BEST WAYS TO AVOID WATER IN THE BASEMENT AND HOW TO BEST GET THE LONGEST LIFE OUT OF MY SUMP PUMP. VISIT WAS FOLLOWED UP WITH A CALL AND SURVEY TO ENSURE THAT I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE WORK AND WITH THE REPRESENTATIVE.
