Company service tech arrived in a timely fashion and quickly determined that our existing A/C unit needed to be replaced. He gave an on-the-spot quote, which was quite high, and said he could have a unit out in just a couple of days. (I think he was out on a Thurs./Fri., and said he could install on Mon.). As the cost was much more than we anticipated, we contacted other companies from Angie's List to arrange for competitive quotes. Then the follow-up calls began. At first I thought that the lady was really nice and "on the ball". I did think it was 'funny' that she would offer $500 off their quote if I was ready to schedule the work. I explained that (a) I wanted a detailed written quote of what the work included, and (b) I was going for compettive pricing. She was very accommodating and got a written proposal to me the next day, along with a coupon for the $500 off. She proceeded to leave me voice mail messages practically every day. When she finally reached me (on a Sat. morning), I explained that I had gotten other quotes, asked about what other brands of A/C units they carried, as I wasn't that keen on what they had proposed. She said that they really liked that particular brand, gave me her sales schpeel and then offered me another $750 off! I thanked her, but explained that I was going to be choosing someone else. She apologized for calling so much and said that she would not call again, but if I changed my mind, she would be very happy! She proceeded to call me an additional 3 times, including waking me once when I was home quite sick. I would not recommend them for 2 reasons. The first being how extremely out of line their pricing was compared to the other quotes I received. The second reason was the follow-up which totally became harassment, not follow-up.

We have decided to scale back our renovation and thus couldn't afford their services, but I will definitely keep them in mind for future projects.

They were very good. They were pleasant and professional. They went down in our basement and look everything over. They also performed routine maintenance around our home.Overall they did a very good job.

I called at approximately 9:00 in the morning. They were very friendly and said someone was in the area, and he would be here as soon as he finished his current job. The technician showed up within forty five minutes, explained what was wrong and fixed it. I had heat within an hour and fifteen minutes of my phone call.

It's the day after Christmas. While I take a quick shower, my husband hears a strange sound coming from our basement. He discovers that the toilet in our basement bathroom is gurgling and sewage is coming out. Ack! So what do we do? We hop onto Angie's List and find the nearest plumber who will take our call. O'Donnell came to the rescue. They arrived at our home 20 minutes after my call. They identified the clog, snaked our drain, and left within about 90 minutes. Both gentlemen were polite and explained they had a 30 day guarantee on the work. After cleaning up the mess downstairs, we were happy that things had been taken care of so quickly. A few days later, after running our dishwasher, we heard a strange gurgling coming from the basement again. Fearing the worst, we stopped everything and ran to the basement. Luckily, nothing was leaking, but the problem had clearly not been completely resolved in the first visit. We called back, had them come back and re-snake the drain (using about 30 more feet of cable this time). Then, as a precaution, they put down the camera to make sure they had cleared all the blockages. Everything has been working swimmingly (ha!) since the second visit. Due to the holiday season and the extra steps they took to get the job done, I would use them again for plumbing needs.

I felt I was given an accurate assessment of the condition of the AC and was pleased with the service call.

No service was performed as provider does not cover our area. Received refund.

Everybody at O'Donnells was knowlegable and professional throughout the entire process. Tim, who wrote up our estimate, took the time to go over all of our options. John and Lori O'Donnell were involved every step of the way. They were especially helpful in explaining our financing options through the Keystone Help program. The installers, Matt and Robert, were very professional and show great pride in their work. Everybody at O'Donnell's (and I know I missed a few names) was a a pleasure to work with. I would recommend this company to my friends and I plan on using thieir services again when the need arises.

When I called them, they said they didn’t work in the Philadelphia area. They are in Glenside, but said they won’t come in the city. It would have been a 30 – 40 min drive to my house. I ended up getting a refund on the deal.

They were perfect for what we initially had them there for. I was shocked at the quote prices for the installs and valve replacement. Unfortunately, I will not be using them for these services but I would use them in the future for other business. I did speak to them about the pricing and I understand where they are coming from; but I have received better pricing in the past from other companies.

Since my furnace is rather old, the serviceman had to go for parts. I believe that he installed one part that was not required for the repair. O'Donnell follows up each service call (at least they have with me) and I relayed this information to them. They immediately gave me a credit on my bill. I really didn't even have to ask for it. They were very professional about the entire episode, and treated me like a valued customer, even though this is only my second use of their company. They will remain my contractor of choice, whether for heating and cooling, or any of the other contract services they provide.

They were extremely professional, very informative and answered all of my questions. They provided follow up after the visit and gave me a discount for the second heating and AC unit in my home.

Service representative was on time, professional, and knowledgeable.

It was just supposed to be a simple job, but problems were found, the job was done in a timely manner. We have had no more touble in that area, however when we did have another plumbing problem, we called them again. And again, we found competence and professionalism from the first phone call to the completion of the job.

I called them on Friday & left a message. They called me back today & simply told me they don't service my area. It was easy conversation.

The whole central Heating and Airconditioning untist had been replaced the previous year by ACTION AIR. ACTION AIR installed the wrong system while charging us for an upgraded unit. Only after being threatened by the Bucks County Consumer Protection Bureau did they replace the system. Even though the system was under warranty we did not want use ACTION AIR for anything ever again.Found O'Donnel Plumbing and Heating through Angie's List.They came promptly and fixed the problem.

I purchases a Big Deal to have my air conditioner tuned up for 49.99. The technician was punctual and professional. He went over everything with me and actually left not charging me another cent. This was huge for me because it always seems I would get a price and then it turns into another price by the time their finished.

All went very well and they were professional and quick to the point. They described in detail what they were going to do and what they did at the end. Recommendations were noted and we had multiple questions that were all answered. We will be using their service in the near future for valve replacement in the showers to fix our hot/cold issues.

Let me start off by saying that my overall C rating is meant to be a "Fair" rating as defined by Angie's List (not Excellent or Good, but now Bad or Lousy either).We just moved into a new home with 3 bathrooms, so I purchased 3 of the Deals for toilet and plumbing inspections.Their pre-appointment communication was great. Called to offer an earlier slot when their schedule allowed, confirmed the appointment, call before arriving, etc etc... really good communication. Ray showed up on time and explained what he'd be doing, then got to work. One of the toilets (which at least from a non-plumber perspective was working fine) had a part break while he was checking it out. He let me know about the broken part and that he had to call it into his office. This is where the trouble began... Obviously I could only hear one part of the conversation, but it sounded like Ray was getting in trouble over the broken part and the fact that he'd have to go pick up a replacement to install. He seemed beaten down by the conversation and I felt badly about it (I'd like to note that he was still professional and didn't take it out on me, but his mood was obviously different).He explained that the flush valve on the toilet didn't look great and he felt that it needed to be replaced. The toilet was working and I have no idea if the $182 price he quoted was fair, but I just felt badly because the guy seemed genuinely broken down after the conversation with his office... so I approved the replacement and told him that I hoped it helped out with the situation back at his office. He thanked me for it.The rest of the toilets were inspected without issue and he did a quick check on the rest of the plumbing, made a few comments/recommendations and then he was done and left. Additionally I'd like to note that I appreciated him putting on shoe-covers whenever he came into the house. I had 5 different contractors out there over a 2 day period right after moving in and he was the only one that used those shoe covers.I explained all of this to Gina from O'Donnell over the phone when she called to see how things went. She was very nice and also sent me a $25 gift certificate toward future service. O'Donnell really has top notch policies in place for communication. As I said in the beginning... all in all it was an ok/fair visit. I have no idea if it was the right choice to let the extra work be done, but I felt better about knowing (or hoping) that the guy wasn't going to lose his job or something over the broken part. I'd probably give O'Donnell another shot... companies that communicate well are hard to find.

While in the basement, noticed our furnace was older and asked if he could call his supervisor to come and get his opinion. We agreed, but were afraid that we were going to get a sales pitch for a new furnace, but we were pleasantly surprised. The supervisor told us the furnace was old and needed to be replaced, but it was fine for now. We will definitely use them again.

Called about a broken dishwasher and bad-tasting ice from the refgerator. Dispatcher arranged prompt service but when the person arrived he indicated that the company doesn't handle appliance repairs. He did, however, leave to purchase a filter for the refrigerator, returned and installed it promptly. Refrigerator ice still tastes bad so there may be another unsolved issue.

Just bought my house last August so I wasn't too sure how well the A/C was maintained by the previous owners. Decided to have it tuned up and inspected before the summer heat creeped in. I found O'Donnell here on Angies List and decided to go with them since they were local (right down the street) and had a Big Deal going. Glad I went with them! Scheduling was easy. I called and immediately had someone on the other line. Asked about the Big Deal and what was to be expected. All was explained thoroughly and to my liking so I booked on the spot for the following week. A few hours passed and I logged back onto Angies to purchase the Big Deal -- it was no longer available for the price it was earlier. I immediately called and explained what had happened. No problem. O'Donnell stuck by the original price and told me not to worry. That brought a smile to my face! Day of inspection came and all went well. Ray was on time (waited in his truck outside until actual scheduled time) and was extremely friendly. He explained what he was going to do and before he started put on some booties so as to not dirty my carpets. All in all he was at my house for about an hour and before he left went over the inspection report and any issues he had discovered. I asked about the one issue that popped up and he kindly showed me and explained in detail. Ray is very knowledgeable and didn't pressure or try to sell me on anything unnecessary. He explained what I should do to better maintain my A/C unit and what he recommends in terms of corrective action. Gave me a quote on corrective work and was completely honest in saying it was not the cheapest but that they back up all of their work and do it the right way. I thanked him very much and told him I might call to schedule once I could make an informed decision. Called around to get quotes and O'Donnell had the best price even before any discounts or coupons. Called O'Donnell back and booked corrective work for the following day. I was not home the following day but my fiancee was and she too was very pleased with Ray's service and friendly manner. Once I got home everything looked good and I was very pleased. A/C is working more efficiently now. Overall I highly recommend O'Donnell for HVAC work. They also do plumbing but I cannot comment on that, yet. I will definitely be calling them for all my future HVAC and possibly plumbing work. Very happy to have a good and honest local company I can rely on.
