Matus Windows

They were great. They were really attentive. They did a nice job and they cleaned up well. We were very happy with them. I can't remember how much it cost though because it was a couple of years ago. I want to say it was maybe around $1300.00, but I can't remember.

Response for the estimate was immediate. Matus worked around our busy schedule. They completed all the work in one day. They explained up front that there might be some minor trim damage and that we would be responsible for repainting. There was very little repainting to be done- they were very clean and neat in the work. The one thing that sets Matus apart is they stand by their work- the weather stripping on the front door they installed began to ripp a couple years later- they replaced it no cost. Same thing with a window that got condensation between the panes- over four years after the initial install.

They were very good. I don?t think we are going to act at this time but they were very responsive. They were prompt, thorough, and easy to work with.

I am very disappointed. I read the ratings on Angie's list and was looking forward to meeting with this company to get an estimate on 3 replacement windows. The first question I was asked after I mentioned the number of windows was did I have more windows that needed to be done in the future. When I told them no, I was told they don't like to do small jobs. Too bad, I have a lot of neighbors and live in a neighborhood full of older homes. If you have a small job, don't waste your time calling Matus, you're not the type of customer they are looking for.

Matus provided an estimate that was crazy high. I wanted a sliding patio door to replace the french doors I currently have. The size was standard and I wanted a customized look but...$8000 was way too much. When I asked for them to itemize the estimate I was told that that was prepriortary information. What was that about???

When I was shopping around for prices, Matus was the 4th company I called. I did so becuase there were a few signs in my neighborhood where they had done work. They offered me the best price and a great quality window. They use a local company for their windows and the energy ratings were superior to the other companies...at a savings of almost $2000!! I need t emphasize that I was not looking to cut corners. We wanted a lasting quality window and that is what their rep, Mike Foell, presented to us. After about 6 weeks, they arrived at exactly 9am and immediately set to work removing the windows. One of the workers explained how the install the window and off they went. I have louvre shutters on a large window and the gentlemen rebuilt the trim around the interior of the window so I could keep them. My only caveat to giving them straight A's was that I smelled a lot "Eau de cigarette", and there seemed to be a personal issue at one time that involved a bit of cursing and 2 door slams. Other than that, I loved the quality of the work. My neighbor came by and was equally impressed...he took their number.

Matus was great. We are very pleased with the results. They were able to complete the work in about 2 days. It was a diry job but they did a good job cleaning up after tehmselves. In addition they replaced the panels under the windows in the front that had rotted out. See pictures for details.

They are very professional and do a very nice job. When here, they do a good job, stay on task and are very friendly and helpful.

So far, so great (not even good). Matus responded to our call quickly, scheduled a time that was convenient for us and had an estimate to us relatively quickly after we decided what we wanted. Their price for Marvin Integrity full replacement windows was very fair, especially compared to some of the overpriced competitors in the area. We are dealing with John Richardson who is extremely professional, not at all pushy and really easy to work with. We decided to leave a deposit for the job with him today and are looking forward to getting the job done sometime in the next 8 weeks (depending on the weather). We would highly recommend Matus windows for the estimate process. I will update this report once the work is done. Hopefully, we are just as pleased then as we are now.

The estimate was an excellent price. I told them I wouldn't be available for them to be installed for 4 months. No problem for them. They gave me samples when asked for and a list of addresses for windows installed so I could see quality of work. The team of workers came on time, were extraordinary in their installation. It hardly looks like I even need to touch up the frame. They cleaned up completely and took all the old windows away. I had received a price from a competitor for over 40% higher who had an excellent installation reputation, so I was concerned about unsightly caulking etc. However, I am so glad to have gone to Matus windows. This installation team went above and beyond. They even capped an area that wasn't in the contract with the left over material. Please use them. Don't waste your time on other people. They came out right on time and were very professional while they were at my home. They did a very good job. They were very courteous and informative throughout the process. I was satisfied with the contractors, however the windows have been a little bit disappointing.

I contacted Matus for an estimate. Dave Matus came out a few days later at a time convenient to me and took the measurements to replace 8 windows including a patio door, two large sliding windows, two casements and three very narrow picture windows. Dave gave me a preliminary estimate and suggested that I visit the showroom to view the windows he was recommending. I had three other contractors from Angie?s List provide estimates, but the other three were both higher than Matus and were not a compatible window. I placed the order for the eight windows with Matus. Dave also provided me information concerning obtaining the Federal Energy Tax Credit along with links to the Energy Star website. On exactly the day Dave promised the windows would be available for installation, Kevin called me to arrange for an appointment. The installers showed up at the exact time they promised. They took two days to complete the job. They installed the patio, sliders and casement windows on the first day and installed the three picture windows and completed the ?cosmetic? trim on the second day. They left the yard and interior of my home is broom clean condition. They even re-hung our blinds. In summary, a professional estimate and professional installation of the windows at the promised and reasonable price, what more could a consumer want!

I decided to go with Matus windows & doors because of an awful experience I had at Lowes when we replaced our back door, where it had taken months to get the door/order mixups/unresponsive service etc. I thought if I went with a reputable and specialized door company for our front door, it would be different. Well, Matus certainly was better than Lowes, and the final door is lovely and very well installed, but my review is still lukewarm. Mostly, I was unsatisfied with the responsiveness of customer service, and price ended up being extremely high. When I first called, I was told the type of door I was looking for would be around $2000 - it ended up being $3500, because we had to go custom due to odd door size. Regarding service, I started the process in Nov. 2008; the door and windows were installed in May, 2009. During the ordering phase, there were lengthy delays on getting estimates - we were getting a custom door and Matus had to get estimates from the manufacturer - which required several follow up calls by me. We finally signed the contract and gave a deposit in mid-Feb, 2009, and were told it would take 6-8 weeks. Again, when there were delays, rather than Matus following up, it took several calls by me for them to look into the situation. When more than 3 months had passed, Matus finally told me there was a mixup with the glass ordered for the door (supposedly on the manufacturer's, not their, end), and it would be another 6 weeks. The door came in a week later (hooray!), and its now installed. I must say, it is very nice, and is seemingly very well installed. Also, I should comment that our rep - Mike - was very NICE, but nice in this case wasn't quite enough (we also had 2 windows installed - no problems with estimates, service or installation on those - very nicely done). Final cost: $3600 door; $1200 2 vinyl windows.

Found company on Angie's List, with thirty on excellent ratings. Called sales office & sales man arrived next day to measure. Went to store and selected doors, staff very helpful and helped eliminate "stuff" we did not need. We are very pleased & would recommend Matus to anyone. Our laundry room no longer leaks cold air.

After a very bad experience with one of the large home products stores, which resulted in many delays and ultimately cancellation of the order, I decided to go with this smaller company. Their price was higher but I've learned that you get what you pay for. Matus was helpful as I decided on the type of doors I wanted and made solid recommendations. They showed up promptly to take measurements and followed up within a few days to send me the price estimate. It took a few weeks for us to make a final color decision; Matus answered the various questions we had during this process. Once the order was placed, they ensured that all details were included in the work order. Manufacturing took somewhat longer than I had hoped but once the doors were ready Matus scheduled an immediate appointment for installation. The installer did a careful job, although he installed the storm-door lock incorrectly and pointed this out to me before he left, telling me to call Matus to schedule a replacement. When I did so, Matus followed up quickly and installed a new lock. We are very happy with the doors; they are very well made and beautifully enhance the exterior of our house. We have absolutely no complaints and plan to hire Matus again when we are ready to replace some windows.

The quality of the work that was done was fine, it is the lack of communication and failure to return phone calls that is disappointing... The salesperson said they'd call to set up an appointment to do the work and never did, I had to call to remind them they were contracted to do the work. I repeatedly told them I needed a dated invoice for the window so I could get a rebate on my taxes and after 3 phone calls that went unanswered for months I'm concluding that I'm not a big enough client to warrant any kind of response---I even told them I needed several other windows replaced but heard nothing...bottom line: good work but poor, POOR communication.

Crew arrived on time, very professional worked all day to finish job. No surprises. Very happy with windows & doors, very easy to clean. Sales person, Michael Foell, excellent response to any questions or concerns.

It went well. I could not recommend this company high enough. They did a great job; they were on time, they were very understanding, very kind and they communicated well. They asked for permission, they communicated with me throughout the day to make sure everything was going well.

The doors are of superior quality and they did a superior job installing them. I can't believe the job was done so well. I didn't mind that the price was a little high because the work was exceptional. I would use them anytime in the future. In fact, we have them coming back to do a window in our family room.

I thought they did a beautiful job. They got it done faster than I would have thought. For contractors, they were pretty careful to protect my home, and they did a nice clean up job afterwards. They even did a little extra, like hanging the blinds back.

Rep. came out to look at replacing the doors & window. He did not have brochures but said to stop in anytime. Unfortunately working weekends does not make their store hours convenient for us. Finally my wife stopped in ( months later), a rep was friendly & gave my wife some brochures to look at & said to call back once we made a decision. We called the next day (Tuesday) & were told he would drop it off. I called a week later & the info wasn't even put through. Said I would have it EOD or next morning. Didn't happen either. We received it on a Friday. Disappointed with our response from rep. we decided not to go with Matus. Price was average. Not enough to make difference in changing our minds.

This is a 5-star company. They were clean and professional. The work was perfect; they did a superlative job. We like that we got 5% off for being Angie's List members.

Matus had done quite a lot of work when they were here. I am pleased with them all the way around. Even though the guy was a little on the unpleasant side, he did an excellent job installing everything. I really have no complaints at all and the one incident with my neighbors home was resolved in a calm way after I called the sales people and they came right out. They did replace and fixed my neighbors things before the end of the day.

We were very happy with the work these gentleman did for us. They were very professional and answered our questions both before and after they finished.

Mattus did great work. They installed both of them on their arrival and they were very knowledgeable. They were prompt and arrived early. I did not have to wait to get a response or to have my questions answered. They were worth the wait.
