David's Improvements

Without warning or contact, he did not show for my initial appointment. I phoned him and he said he was "stuck" out of town. He rescheduled another appointment for a week later. The night before this second appointment, his wife called and apologized for having to also cancel this appointment. She promised he would call on a particular date ( the day they were to return home) to set up a definite appointment. That was more than a month ago and I still have heard nothing! Because of his total disregard for potential customers, I can't imagine myself contacting him for any future jobs.

We are in the process of remodeling out kitchen. In the first part of the remodel, we removed part of a wall in order to open it to the dining room and add a breakfast counter. We asked Dave to come in and move some of the electrical wire that was part of that wall, move several light switches and outlets, to drywall that wall and to repair the drywall in several other areas. Dave was able to schedule 3 days with us. When he arrived, we asked if he thought he may be able to remove an existing door in the kitchen leading outside and close that area of the wall. He thought that it might be possible in the time frame and set to work. Dave was prompt and professional. He worked steadily through each day and was able to complete not only the wiring and much of the drywall, but was able to remove and close the door as well. Because we added the removal of the door onto the project, he was unable to completely finish the drywall by the end of the third day but has made arrangements to either complete the project himself or have an associate complete it at an earlier time. We were exceedingly pleased with Dave's work and would be pleased to work with him again on future projects.

-F rating. David is all talk and zero action. I am not one to write bad reviews about people and always give people the benefit of the doubt. However, after 4 scheduled appointments 1 he didn't have the tools he needed even after I explained what I was looking for, 2nd he had issues at his vacation home and couldn't make it back, 3rd did not show up because of an alleged issue at another clients house and the 4th he didn't show at all even after he told me he cleared the entire day for me. When I called him 3 times to see where he was he finally called back and told me he was at another clients house and claimed he was at my home yesterday which was a lie because I was here all day and zero phone calls from him. HORRIBLE ETHICS AND ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. Anyone who trusts him....beware! Delete review

Dave exceeded my expectations. It's a rarity these days to find a reliable, affordable, 'one stop shop' handyman who delivers such high quality work. I was very pleased with all the work Dave performed.

David is a fabulous contractor. I am very pleased with the end results, as both rooms are now as I envisioned. David is meticulous in his work and extremely knowledgeable. He is always on time. He is courteous and, most importantly, he always listened to my concerns, addressed all of my questions, and offered alternatives and suggestions to keep everything on track and on budget.

David was very friendly, easy to work with, and came when he said he would. David was willing to take a small job, which I appreciated. He was honest, told me what materials to buy, and finished in the time frame that he gave us. The floor looked great when he finished.

When I Scheduled the service there was a couple of months wait to get booked for the service, Dave was very helpful over the phone and sounded very professional. I schedule home for a three day service. He arrived promped on the day we had scheduled our first day. He evaluated what I needed to accomplish the project, he was honest and said that the project was more than he and I could accomplish. He then referred me to another contractor that would be able to help me out. He also said that since he would not be able to preform the job I would be able to be refunded by Angieslist. I contacted angieslist and because the difference between purchasing the job and the time that Dave arrived for the project was over 30 days I would only be able to get credited toward another project in the future. I did not have the extra money to be tied up with credit for angieslist and also paying someone to put my flooring in. I had to contact a rep from angieslist several times while working with Dave to finally get refunded for the work that was never accomplished. The contractor Dave was very helpful through this process and was helpful in getting Angieslist to reimburse me for this project. The process with working with the contractor was great, however my problem was actually with angieslist and the fact that they did not want to refund my money after the fact that no service was provided. It took several frustrating phone calls and time to resolve this issue. The contractor "Dave" was very helpful through this process and he also contacted angieslist to try to help me get my money refunded, Dave was a very honest and trustworthy person. On the other hand the rep that I was in contact with through angieslist was very difficult to deal with and did not care that I did not have any service provided to my. I felt that Angie's list was just trying to scam my money off of me when no services were provided. The 30 day guarantee works if a person can book a contract within this time but usually it takes some time to get a contractor to work you into their schedule. I think that Angie's list knows this and try to take advantage of their customers through this policy.

My parents are 80+ years old and I hired Dave as a gift to them to get a lot of things at their home fixed up. The are meticulous and were VERY happy with Dave's work and how neat he was. They liked how he took his shoes off and said that he was a perfectionist and very friendly!! They plan to use him again.

David arrived on time and worked quickly to complete all things I needed repaired.

Smooth. He was on time, efficient, personal. He even refered me to a roofer. He told me my roof needed repaired. I got a few consultations. He saved me from being overcharged on a roof. Great guy.

David is exceptional! He can do literally everything, and quickly too! We have hired him multiple times now, and he always goes above and beyond. For example, he came over weeks after renovating our bathroom when we thought our bathroom pipe was leaking (turned out to be no fault of his own, but he came over and helped us determine the cause anyway and even caulked our outside windows for extra precaution). An even better example is when he prepared to fix our broken dryer outlet and recognized that the problem was actually the fault of the electrician who had installed a new breaker box a few months prior. He took photos of the hookup before he repaired it and explained in detail the technical jargon I needed to explain it to the electrician. I called the electrician with those details, and he knew exactly what I was talking about and apologized immediately. We got a partial refund for the electrician's services, and if it hadn't been for David's documentation and looking out for us, we never would have known! David is our handyman for life!

We’ve been very happy working with David, who is very knowledgeable when it comes to all things home improvement! We hired him for a variety of items…rebuilding our front porch, electric work, plumbing, wall patch-work, and screening in our deck. He’s a hard worker, is honest, always provided us with receipts when purchasing items on our behalf, and recommended options to meet our price points. He’s flexible and able to shift from project to project, and we are already booking him again for additional work.

It didn't go well at all. Same drywall still in need of final repair. I'll have to do it myself or find someone else. Note- Didn't even have a drop cloth to protect areas close to the work area. In much too big of a hurry. Wouldn't provide receipt for work done. I just flat out gave up on this person after too many requests to finish work to a professional standard as agreed and provide receipt as he said he would. Begged for a good review though. If you can't provide a receipt you shouldn't be in business, you're not a professional. At one point he left in the middle of the job saying he had too much other work to do elsewhere and wouldn't be able to come back for a couple of weeks or so- provided he had time to fit me in! And there's more, but I'll keep this short- for now. Not recommended. Again, no receipt. Why? Note- Cost below does not reflect majority of materials, essentially labor only.

Unfortunately, David decided not to show up at all.! We agreed on exact Dates 4 weeks prior, and I was willing to wait. I thought I was dealing with a "Professional" Handyman. Not even close! No "Common Courtesy" Heads-up of any kind. Had to cancel my Granite-Installation last second....... WOW! Disappointed beyond words........

Great! Excellent work and efficient. Dave took care to make sure the doors closed (sanding and trimming) and latched properly (moving a striker plate to make it perfect). He troubleshot the light fixture by methodically checking potential items and found a loose wire in the junction box. Determined why attic fan was not working and gave great recommendations on how to improve attic ventilation. Very knowledgeable and gives expert advice. Would hire again.

I hired dave to do interior demolition and frame in part of a porch and some interior rooms. Dave had excellent communication during the construction and he provided updates as to his current schedule and his projected schedule of work. He worked with me when we made some design changes during the middle of the construction, and was able to stay on time and within the budget. Lastly, daves work was good quality and he works as hard as I have seen anyone work, he just never stops.

Excellent worker. Prompt. Professional. Went above and beyond to help with getting light installed before the holiday when we needed to wait for a missing part. Will absolutely hire again.

Great job. Came prepared and as quite proficient. Clean up was also thorough.

David was AWESOME. I had a large list and he got through it all. He is very knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and does high quality work. I plan on having him back for other work that needs done at my house and my parent's house.

He's incredibly efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. When I have a need again, I'll use David's Improvements.

It turned out okay. The quality of the work needs to be improved.

David did a great job. He was on time and did excellent work on the projects I needed done, including rebuilding a bulkhead basement door, installing a new porch light and other jobs. He also was able to alert me to other work that will need to be done in the future. David was also very friendly and informative. I will definitely be going to David for future projects and recommend him highly.

I will upload pictures soon to further add to my review, but for now... David is amazing! We can't say enough about how pleased we were with his service. Not only is he a friendly, easy-going guy with positive energy--which is refreshing when you're dealing with a BUNCH of house problems!--he works quickly and his finished product is great. He ended up helping us with problems we hadn't even known existed. In the midst of renovating bathrooms (he helped with TWO small bathrooms in just one week), he had to do some plumbing work. Lucky for us, he's an everything guy and has many skills. He was able to address the problem immediately and complete the project. He helped with many things on our list that we didn't even realize he'd be able to do, such as moving an outlet in the kitchen to a better location. He even helped us with installing baseboards. He also advised us in dealing with several future issues on our own. David's service was absolutely invaluable to us and we are forever grateful. Hire him!

It went flawlessly!!!! I can only tell you that David was amazing! He was punctual and professional! He kept me in the loop the entire time, before the services were performed and during the day of service. No surprises, totally up front from the start! He never stopped. He was respectful of my home and myself! He is a true professional! Good old fashioned craftsmanship tied in with good old fashioned professionalism. It ceases to exist anymore. But let me say this. David is absolutely wonderful! Down to earth and reliable! He gave me so many wonderful ideas for the spring and for the next visit. I would have him back in my home every time! Dave was upfront about the length of time the job would take, and helpful in guiding us to purchase materials we'd need to complete the work. We would definitely hire Dave again, and have scheduled additional maintenance work to be completed in the next month or so.
