Ā + 7 moreWe are very happy with the end product. David is meticulous in his work, and it shows. His attention to detail is one of his strong points. Also is his knowledge on "what works" and "what looks good". Working with him we ended up with a final solution that was different to what we were considering at the beginning, and that cost more and took longer, but is much better. We opted for a custom solution for our bathroom remodel mainly because we wanted something that fit with the character of the house, and that allowed for us to have a lot of input. Working with David allowed us to get both. We'd recommend him without hesitation. In fact we've already engaged with him on a second project.
Description of Work: We did a total remodel of the en suite for our main bedroom.

My inquiry to David was quickly responded to and as luck/opportunity in his schedule would have it, he came within 2 hours of my contacting him. He knew exactly what he was doing, made some great suggestions on a future project I was considering. His background and knowledge is vast and his personality is engaging. Any questions and explanations I needed were quickly provided. Ā + 4 moreFrom estimate to completion the work and communication was five star. He was always available by cell phone. Even though a vent pipe had to be moved which added a few extra days he stood by his original estimate. He works by himself and doesn't subcontract, which is nice because you know who is coming into your house everyday. David was prompt and professional. Everything went as he said it would. He was very good with helping us make decisions when we were unsure. Definitely would recommend to my friends and definitely would hire again.
Description of Work: David did a complete bathroom remodel for me. I wanted a wall removed and the bathroom extended into the existing master powder room. Everything was new and had to be installed. It was a complete gut.

The work was professional and affordable and done on time!!! I would recommend this company for any remodeling need and I will definitely be using them again for my roof and bathroom.
Description of Work: I had my entire living room re-modeled including, turning a flat ceiling into a cathedral ceiling and gutting of a wood burning fireplace, making it a gas burning fireplace with new gorgeous stone and cabinets on each side, had our floors refinished, electrical updated, walls plastered and painted and a barn door hung at entry into dining room.

The access panel was beautifully installed, and the ceiling patch looks great. The work was prompt, professional, and clean, and David was very clear about his pricing up front, which we appreciated. David's professional knowledge and craftsmanship shows in each project - he worked with us on every detail! *The bathroom tile work is gorgeous and enabled us to expose a window that was previously covered. David updated all electrical and plumbing where needed. *The kitchen was another total remodel, walls and bulkhead removed, new hardwood floors, subway tile back splash, a glass-front cabinet door + so much more...really, the kitchen of my DREAMS!!! *The porch metal roof looks great and corrected a water problem to the woodwork below. David replaced any wood that was damaged, too. David's work is top-notch!
Description of Work: David has completed 3 projects for us: a total main bath remodel, a total DREAM kitchen remodel, and a metal roof replacement on our back porch.

Ā + 0 moreDavid reviewed the job with me over the phone. Was very clear about his minimum charge, when I asked him to do the job. It was a thursday when I called, he said he could do it Saturday, I couldn't so he offered to do it Sunday. He came onsite and completed the move. His work was very good, he was careful to do a neat clean job. I am satisfied he did the work within the minimum. I'd definitely hire him again.
Description of Work: I needed a hot water tank moved a short distance on short notice. Had to cut and resider copper pipes and the flue.

Description of Work: I had a long list of repairs that needed to be done on a newly purchased home. It was hard to find someone who could do a wide range of work, but David was able to take care of all of my projects at a reasonable price. Work done: door repair, door installation, wall patching, lock repair, roof repairs, siding repairs, gutter cleaning, deck support pole replacement.

Description of Work: 03/06/2017 Dave Adair is still working on several projects, large and small, at my house that I initiated by entering into a contract with him. I must emphasize right from the start that Dave is the most caring, honest, and diligent handyman I could ever hope to find. I feel really blessed to have him working on the projects we discussed together; he listens very carefully and gives his best advice, but always makes sure that my preferences are his first consideration above all else. Dave is an incredibly NEAT workman; he never leaves an ounce of dust when he leaves for the day. He'll sit down with me and discuss all my options for bathroom fixtures, design, tiling, and bathroom flooring/storage. I feel a great deal more confident that my ideas for bathroom design will come to beautiful fruition thanks to his willingness to work with me down to the smallest details. In my opinion, Dave is a consummate professional whom I can trust to do all of the projects this old house needs to have done. Best of all, Dave does not believe in short-cuts; he understands pride of ownership and that quality work takes time. I appreciate that about Dave, and the fact that he works exclusively for me during the contract period. He gets here early and puts in a full day. When Dave says he has you penciled in for X number of days or weeks to complete a project, trust that you are his #1 concern during that time. I would recommend Dave's Improvements without an ounce of reservation. You won't be disappointed. Description of work: total bathroom renovation: demolish, expand, redesign, renovate. Also, remove radiator from living room and re-install in basement, working with a master plumber for the relocation and re-install of the radiator. Also, television wall mounting into a brick fireplace wall. Front of house installed new wooden railings along the staircase to make climbing the stairs to the front door safe and easy. Several smaller projects around the house that needed to get done. He removed beautiful stained glass windows from my living room windows without a scratch of damage to these old beauties. They were preventing light from entering my LR, and they matched NOTHING in my decor, so they had to go. Dave made sure they are being stored safely until I can use them elsewhere or sell them on Craigslist. He fixed baseboard heating in my Sunroom and some non-working electrical outlets in my 100 year old home. Now he is gutting my upstairs bathroom and enlarging it.

Ā + 2 moreDuring the removal of a range hood, I pulled off some drywall. I saw David's business from earlier searches so I called him on a Friday afternoon and he came Saturday afternoon. Very personable and easy to speak with. Within an hour or so, he completed the job which consisted of applying "mud" to the wall and smoothing it out. He then moved the electric wire further up where I needed it to be behind the drywall. Prior to leaving, he told me to let it sit overnight and just lightly sand it. If I needed him to come back, he said he would at no additional charge. He was right. The sanding I did was very minimal and the wall was smooth as glass. I would recommend him and would hire him again. Thanks.

He could have prolonged the job to put more money in his pocket but did not.

David came in and did some small kitchen and bathroom repairs for me. He was recommended to me by a good friend of mine that lives in the Pittsburgh area.
