I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to schedule me in for same day service. The tech did arrive between 2 and 5pm. The tech (Matt) was professional and got the fan to work and warm air blowing. He also.explained what he did and gave a range of recommendations. Unfortunately, that is where the "good" service ended. The heater only worked for about an hour then quit working again. Called the next day (today) to have them come out to diagnosis problem. The person that set up the return appointment advised that it would be at no charge since Matt was just out the day before. However, when the scheduler called to let me know she was sending Matt back out, she advised it would be another $94 service charge to which I politely declined because I believe he misdiagnosed the problem. The scheduler advised that Matt made several recommendations ranging from replacing the filter ($48) and getting a service plan ($186.30) to replacing the furnace (price not quoted). She kept repeating that Matt said that the furnace needed to be cleaned inferring that was why it was not currently working and that was why there would be a charge for him to come out again. She advised that he could come out to clean it for $108. I was prepared to pay for any additional repairs that would be necessary to fix the furnace but not for Matt to come out to "diagnose" the problem again. I would have authorized Matt to come back out had the scheduler offered to waive the service charge if cleaning the furnace did not "fix" the problem. What a nightmare...still no heat temp to be near freezing tonight and now I have to have someone else come out to properly diagnose and repair my furnace.

Very well, very happy with the service. Tech came out immediately and fixed my issue (broken part in AC) with minimal cost. They were very very prompt and I did not have to wait for more than a few hours for someone to come on a very hot morning.
Description of Work: AC repair, AC had stopped working. Internal part needed replaced and it needed recharged.

Had them out twice. The first time they came, I thought they did a good job. So two weeks later I had them out a second time. I specifically requested that they wipe down the baseboards but that didn't appear to happen. One of the cleaners walked through the kitchen bare-foot when it wasn't dry yet or her feet were wet and you could see foot prints going across the kitchen floor. I had to mop it again myself-after paying all that money that should NOT have happened. Everything was still quite dusty. Looked like a surface wipe down at best. I ended up having to hire yet another person to come do a deep clean and she said it didn't look like they did much prior. If they needed more time or money to really clean the house well, why didn't they say that? I wouldn't use them again.

I called at 11:30 pm on a Saturday evening and then again at 12: 18 am. As of 1:30am no return call. My thermostat would not budge from 74 degrees on a very hot evening. I bought a new a/c and furnace, hot water tank and thermostat from this company one year ago. Cost me $12,000. This is the first emergency call I put in. I called and spoke to an answering service girl twice. She was very short with me and told me I would get a call shortly. Perhaps they had no one on call knowledgable enough to help me. The thought crossed my mind that maybe the answering service person didn't even pass my message along. Everything is still under warranty so I am stuck dealing with this company. I am guessing I have to wait until Monday with another very hot day tomorrow. Needless to say, thIs is an unacceptable way to conduct any business and I am very disappointed.
Description of Work: I wanted to speak with someone who could try to walk me through this new Thermostat to see if I was possibly doing something wrong. It was malfunctioning on a very warm Saturday evening. It did give a few error messages earlier in the week that said system malfunction, but I was getting a/c with no problem. I did, however make a service appointment for first thing on Monday. On Saturday it became too unbearable to wait. I was willing to pay an emergency fee if I had too.

ARS did a fantastic job. I requested a service call and ARS came out that same morning. A manager even telephoned prior to the scheduled visit to learn more details about the problem. The technician assessed the problem, offered me several options on how to proceed with repairs, and then made a recommendation. The unit was charged with additional freon and has been working perfectly. I cannot say enough good things about this service visit and technician.
Description of Work: Home air conditioner was not cooling sufficiently and iced formed inside the unit.

I have bought other deals where the people get there then charge you more than what the deal cost. This time I was very pleased. I bought the $49 deal for a seasonal furnace check and thought they would just come in and hurry through it or not be thorough. ARS was very thorough, he did all the steps that I knew were usually done. He was very nice and answered questions and replace the filter that I supplied. Very pleased. This was the first "deal" I bought that cost me no more than the deal. Thank you ARS, I would definitely use them again.

The pamphlet said they would use drop cloths and floor coverings, which none were used. They made a huge mess of the basement which also happens to be our bed room. We just painted the floor and they scratched to heck and back. They also drilled holes in our walls without telling us or consulting us first. I have 2 younger children in the house and the workers were cussing, all be it not loudly, but if I can hear it then my children can hear it. So now we have to spackle the wall and re paint where they took out the thermostat, we also have to re paint the basement because they didn't protect the floor as advertised.

ARS came out to diagnose the problem and recommended that the residential unit be replaced for $ 5,000 and that the commercial unit could be fixed for $ 8,500 but recommended replacing it for $20,000 and it would take 6 weeks either way. By then we would not need any AC. We sought a second opinion from a competing company and that company fixed the residential unit by replacing a $ 20 part which took 5 minutes. They also fixed a flange that was leaking in the commercial unit for less than $ 1,000 in the same day. Both systems continue to operate effectively. ARS is very good at replacing filters but DO NOT use them to replace anything. Get a second opinion. That second opinion saved me $ 25,000. By the way ARS did not refund us the $ 400 they charged us to come out and diagnose the problem.
Description of Work: We had no AC in a residential unit as well as a commercial space. ARS came out to diagnose the problem.

Very well. Everything was clean and ready to go. He was a 4 hour time window that he would call first. Called about just the beginning of that window and appeared 10 minutes later. Very prompt. I would be happy to recommend them. They were easy to deal with and did the work promptly and so far everything is working fine. We had a week of extremely hot weather right after this. I was glad I got the work done. The price on the Big Deal was great. The other work that he did I have little to go by. I can only say that the price seems reasonable for the work that was done for the install. They charged for the additional work, for the labor and to install them. It was $387. The system is working perfectly right now. I turn it on when it's hot weather and it stays cool. Everybody was happy.
Description of Work: They did the inspection and tune up and discovered a couple of electrical components that were on the edge of failing and replaced those.

The manager went out of his way to do a good job. It went very well. They came when they said they were going to and it was very good. I can't say anything bad about them. The guys that did it were very nice and wore shoe coverings and did everything they said they were going to do. I've even given my neighbors their number.

It is a good company. They them coming twice a year for the last 20 years ever since I got the first furnace put in by them. They didn't charge me anything because I have a maintenance agreement with them for them to come every twice a year and that was part of semi annual checkup and furnace once and air condition on the next and it is like back and forth. They are not cheap, but they are not costly either. I think they charge about the right, but they do good work. I would continue to use them in the future because they give good service. They come when I call them and what they do is quality work.
Description of Work: I used ARS Pittsburgh and they installed original furnace and that was 21 years old when it died and I had to put a new one in and that was year and a half ago. They replace the filter and clean the inside of the furnace and they test pressure in the air conditioner. They check the temperatures and make sure they are accurate and do most of things that are required to keep the furnace and air conditioner properly.

They were fine. They did good work. The inspection takes about half an hour. I've used them for years.
Description of Work: They do routine maintenance. They did a furnace inspection. I have them check the furnace every fall and the air conditioning every spring.

It turned out excellent. They were wonderful from scheduling, punctuality and everything else. One of the things I found surprising is with it having been more than 10 years since our last furnace. We got higher energy efficiency, better, more elite furnace for about the same money we paid 10 or 12 years ago. People were very clear about what the different options were and what the cost were. There wasn’t anything hidden or any surprises. Definitely, I would use them again in the future and I would recommend them to others.

I don't remember the cost. They recommended that I put insulation in the attic and I don't know what portion of it was because of the new furnace and what portion was because I insulated the attic that I did myself, I can do that and I am sure that help made to keep the heat in so the furnace didn't run as much, as part of furnace improvement and the other was my insulating the attic. They recommended that I get new windows and I insulate the attic, which I did and that I can do myself. They do quality work and are responsive. They did that 24 years ago it was a different company, I mean it was the same name but they sold to a different operation now. I never been disappointed with them. I would use them in the future.
Description of Work: I used ARS Pittsburgh and they installed original furnace and new air conditioner put in 24 years ago and it lasted without any problem for about 21 years and then combustion chamber went out.
