I couldn't have hoped for a better experience with Safe-T-Sweep. I've never had our chimney swept before, so I had no idea what to expect. Johnathan was extremely clean, spent time explaining what he was doing, and also gave me tips on using our fireplace (since our smoke chamber wasn't constructed the right way). I would DEFINITELY use them again.

Over all it was a very pleasant experience. Even though Jonathan told me that what I contracted him to do would not solve my problem, because he was so nice and the chimney cap was such a good deal I had him do it anyway. He even suggested a contractor that could solve my problems!

When I started the fire in wood stove, the smoke back out and filled our living room. After call Jonathon, he mentioned we might have chimney fire. He arrive on time, took the chimney cap off and show us the condition of our chimney cap. He also took some pictures of our pipe and explained what happened. He also cleaned up our wood stove and recommended the product will help decreasing the accumulation of creosote. After sweeping, he took another picture and showed us the result after sweeping. We felt that he is our dear brother who wants to share his profession experience with us. And he wants to make sure our safety when we burned firewood. The job has been done wonderfully. The money was well spent! As long as we are burning our wood stove he will be the one to take care our wood stove and chimney.

The service was reliable, fair, and honest and provided in a respectful and pleasant manner. They made little to no mess and performed the job in an efficient and timely manner. The sweeper took his shoes off to walk around the house so as not to track in any outside mess. Overall an excellent experience.

A++. John was courteous, knowledgeable, punctual and prices given over the phone were honored at the time of service. He returned all phone calls promptly and showed up for the job right at the scheduled time. Overall he was a class-act and we would definitely recommend and/or use his services again when needed!

If I could give a higher rating than an A, Jonathan would get it. He was so personable and clean and neat. He went way out of his way to correct some venting problems as well as completing the job he came to do which was to install a chimney cap. He did advise me of some chimney problems that I will need to correct soon. I guarantee that he will be the company I call to have any work done on my chimney. Calling his company was like a stroke of luck for me. Even though it will cost me to have additional work done, I feel confident in his integrity and his skills to do the job!

I have had my fireplace and chimney cleaned a number of times in the past, but this was the most professional and complete job ever. Not only did he clean the chimney, but he explained the need to close the dampers when not in use to prevent home heat loss through the chimney. More than that he cleaned the soot off the glass fireplace doors at no additional charge and told me where I could purchase the product he used. He worked clean, there was no dust, ash, or dirt anywhere he had been. The price was competitive, not cheap, but not high. He was easy to get in touch with and arrived on time. Overall I was highly satisfied, will use his services again, and recommend him most highly to anyone who needs this service.

John Barr is a wonderful technician. He did a tremendous job. He is a very nice fella. He took time to explain things. He did a really good job with the installation. I would highly recommend him to anyone else. He takes his time to explain things to you. He gives you the pros and cons of the different products out there. I would say he is well worth the money.

Arrived as expected and proceeded to start the chimney sweeping. Said only the bottom half need cleaning and would charge accordingly. I asked for a chimney cap to be added which was done expeditiously. Job was done very professionally.

This morning my carbon monoxide detector went off. I called Safe-T-Sweep and within three hours they were here, cleaned out the chimney and got my heater running again. They were polite, calling me during the three hours to tell me exactly when he was going to make it and were quick and efficient when they arrived. If you are looking for a Chimney Sweep, this is the company to call.

I called three chimney repair companies after a bird had entered my living room through the fireplace. I spoke with one company who could not come out for nine days. They promised to put me on the urgent cancelation list and would try to get to me sooner, so I booked with them. Jonathan, from Safe-T-Sweep Inc, called me back a few hours after I left a message and gave me an appointment within two days. He confirmed the night before and arrived promptly, as scheduled. After climbing up on to the roof, he came back down, showed me pictures of my chimney and compared mine to my neighbor's. He, also, examined the inside of my chimney from the living room fireplace and provided energy conservation tips on how to retain heat in my home. Jon offered several options to solve my problem and showed me the equipment he might use. I ran some errands while Jonathan evaluated the situation and chose the best remedy. He called when the job was completed, explained what he had done, and left the invoice describing the work in a self-addressed stamped envelope with some other goodies. Jonathan was courteous, professional and knowledgeable about his line of work. I highly recommend his company and I would definitely use Safe-T-Sweep, Inc. again.

We moved into our house during the summer so when the winter came we wanted to try out the fireplace. First appointment they had was 3 weeks later but Jonathan called me about a week after I originally made the appointment and said he had an opening sooner and I took it. He was the most helpful service person I've dealt with since moving. He did a great job and even taught me about how to use the fireplace safely. He went over the bill with me and all that he had done. When he was finished he gave my son a candy cane (after asking me if it was okay) and me a Christmas mug with an aloe plant in it. I've never experienced such over the top customer service. I would call Safe-T-Sweep again in a heartbeat and recommend him to anyone looking for a chimney sweep.

Jon arrived on time and was very professional and kind from the start. He installed a chimney cap on my chimney because the last company used only glued in four spots for install and the cap blew off. Jon screwed the cap on and now it will be safe from blowing off. He did this at no cost to me. He also cleaned my chimney and explained in detail what was going on inside the chimney. What was wearing out and what would need to be replaced down the road. Overall my experience with Safe T Sweep is all positive and I would continue to use them and recommend them to my friends.

I originally bought the special for the chimney cleaning and cap. We recently purchased our house and knew that we needed a good cleaning and a cap for our chimney. Jonathan was very helpful in explaining how to open and close the different components of my flue plus did an excellent job cleaning my chimney. Everything outside of the chimney/fireplace was just as clean as it was before he started. When installing the cap he took pictures of the top of my chimney and then let me know about some cracks we will want to have repaired in the spring. He also gave me a great deal on the extra chimney caps that were needed for my other chimneys. As an added touch at the end he gave me a clean air plant with a miniature statue of a chimney sweep in it.

The installed went very well. The technicians were professional and arrived on time. They were clean and courteous.

Very rarely does one find a truly honest, fair, and caring service provider. Jonathan from Safe T Sweep was this and more. I did quite an extensive research on chimney sweepers and found this company with great reviews and so I tried them. I was not disappointed. He spoke with me about my chimney, went about his job in a very professional manner, and spent time with me even after the job was done with advice about my chimney. I couldn't be more pleased with the service. I felt that Jonathan was very honest and did not try to sell anything that did not need to be done. I had asked him to do the chimney cleaning but he said it was not needed. I asked him if he should be called back in a year and he said not until we had burned a cord of wood--which would have been several years. He was very respectful of the house and laid down drop cloths where he would walk and he cleaned up anything that was needed. He was very patient with all questions and answered in detail until I was informed. He offered to be available by phone if my husband had any questions when he saw the written account of his inspection. Overall, this was a most positive experience and I would not hesitate to have him back again whenever I need any service on the chimney or flues or caps etc.

Great! He arrived on time (to the minute) with a Top Hat on, which we loved. He immediate determined that our fireplace was undersized which is what was causing our problem in the first place. He also determined that the lining of our chimney was starting to disintegrate, but that a new lining wasn't the best choice for us. Instead he recommended either a wood stove or gas logs. I thought that was very thoughtful and honest considering what he would charge for the full lining versus those other two choices, which he isn't even a provider of. He recommended who to call for the wood stove and gas logs. He topped off the visit with coloring books for my kids and an aloe plant for my wife.

Safe-t-Sweep was very professional from start to finish. He showed up promptly at time scheduled and called ahead of time . Unlike other sweeps he had a large container and vacuum which gathered all residue,so no mess. I can now see clearly to top of flue. I asked he check my cap on top of chimney and he deemed it safe but in need of painting. The whole process took under an hour and a half. I am totally satisfied with Safe-T-Sweep's performance and results . I am ready to go for the winter.

Our chimney needed to be cleaned in preparation for installation of a gas insert in our fireplace. Jonathan was able to fit us in to his busy schedule in a timely manner. He arrived promptly - wearing a top hat! - and worked efficiently to clean and check the chimney. He took his shoes off before entering the house, and used tarps to protect our house from any soot that may have fallen, showing consideration and respect for us and our home. He even gave us a plant before he left! We will use Safe-T-Sweep again, and I would highly recommend them!

The owner Jon did a good job of communicating, gave a fair price and did a professional cleaning and documented inspection. I was very impressed that though I had a 7AM appt he was 5 minutes early and waited in his truck until exactly 7AM. He then went to work. He spread a protective blanket over the area and finished in under an hour everything was spotless. I wish every service provider was this good and this responsive.

This fireplace is located in an old apartment house and had probably not been looked at in more years than I'd like to think. It was one of the dirtiest Jon from Safe-T-Sweep had seen in a long time. In fact, Jon told us that there had been a chimney fire there at one time, and he showed us all the burned creosote that had coated the chimney. Jon did an amazing and very thorough job cleaning the fireplace and chimney. It's frightening knowing that the fireplace and chimney were so coated with creosote. But it brings peace of mind knowing that Jon was so thorough in his cleaning. He was very professional and very pleasant to deal with, and I would HIGHLY recommend him!

Safe-T-Sweep (Jon) did an absolutely outstanding job. I could not have asked for a better, more professional, more efficient, and more pleasant outfit to work with. He arrived on time, checked our chimney and fireplace and advised us that we really didn't need a cleaning yet. But, since it had been 20 years of using the fireplace (a few fires per season), we decided to get it cleaned anyway. Jon took off his shoes, and spread out tarps over our floor and carpet so as not to track any soot through the house. He performed a thorough job, and was just a wealth of information about everything chimney/fireplace. It was a pleasure learning from him and talking to him. A true honest professional who does outstanding work and is not out to rip you off.

Jonathan came in to do a first time cleaning since we purchased our house. He showed up top hat and all, which my son thought was really neat. He did a very thorough inspection and after showing me a few things and answering a ton of my questions, he helped advise me on some chimney cap options I was asking about to help save me on energy costs.
