Really professional, what a gentleman! He cleaned everything, inspected the fireplace and told me of an existing unknown issue with the liner, also he gave me some kindling - a giant branch that was on my roof. I will have them clean my fireplace from now on.

This is the second time I have used this provider to clean the double fireplace in my home. Just like the last time, both my wife and I are completely satisfied with the job that was done. The cleaning was done quickly and efficiently, no dirt or dust was generated, and best of all, the surrounding bricks and mortar which were darkened by soot look like new again. All this for a competitive price and with a winning personality. This company is super good!

They were great! They had a very thorough explanation, they took the time to do the job right. They put down cloth to keep the house clean. I would recommend them to anyone.

Jonathan came and inspected my chinmey which had leaded rain down the chimney onto the outside of my gas insert. The existing cap was not channeling water away properly, Instead it allowed water to drain into the chimney. Also the chimney top was screwed on which might have allowed water to enter around the screws. He ordered a new stainless steel cap which was approximately three feet by five feet. The cap had to be painted an off white color in order to conform to the HOA specifications. He then installed the new cover and replaced the cap with an adhesive instead of screws thereby eliminating the potential for water to enter via the screw holes. All of the work was performed in a professional and timely manner and for the price he originally quoted. I rated the price good instead of excellent as it seem a little pricey to me however in fairness I really have no idea what something like this should cost.

Very thorough and showed homeowner the extent of chimney buildup before cleaning. Jon was very pleasant to talk with and explained things clearly.

They were extremely professional. My parents had used the company over 10 years ago when I lived in Drexel Hill and I was surprised they were still around. However after they came to clean out my chimney, I knew why they were still in business. They're very friendly, very personable and will give you an honest opinion about your chimney without trying to sell you on extra services. I was afraid that we were going to have to spend a lot of money for a leaky chimney and it turned out it was a simple fix. I won't use anyone else but them!

Arrived on time and performed service without issue. Made recommendations for things to keep an eye on for the future. Fair price and quality work.

Excellent, A+ all around. Small job: Jon had told me about project last time he did work for me in December. He recommended the work needed to be done & it would be better to do work in Spring/Summer. At the time he quoted me 150. It is now Spring so I called to schedule work on a Tuesday Jon was here on Friday to do work. I will use Safe T Sweep for all Chimney work in the future. Highly recommend!

There are not enough good things to say about Jon Barr, Master Chimney Sweep. If only all home projects were this pleasant! Jon was considerate, calm and cordial while being professional and informative. He offered business card with his handshake, checked things out, took pictures to show me problem area, removed shoes when entering house. On noting old antenna on roof he offered to take it down if I wanted…this was during estimate as a courtesy! Checked in via phone with arrival time, took care of the job, cleaned up and took the odd moment for a friendly conversation. He gave me a folder and talked me through the included product and certification documentation as well as a prepared warranty registration card. With all this competence came a touching whimsy…top hat with feather and little chimney sweep figure! This is a family business, he is definitely a family man and I would be happy to call Safe-T-Sweep for future jobs.

I requested John to come out to inspect the chimney as we are new to the house and had never used it. Upon arrival John was upfront and honest stating he had just been to the house a few months prior to clean the chimney for the previous owner. He had recommended installation of two chimney caps then to the owner but he decided against it, most likely due to cost. I agreed and he very quickly installed both caps. It was overall a pleasant experience and I would use John again for any chimney services.

Provider arrived on time and performed work as per the Angies List deal. Satisfied with the service.

We had received a coupon in the Clipper Magazine for a discounted chimney cleaning. They came out and cleaned the chimney, then told us we needed a cap on it. OK, fine- this wasn't unexpected. I was then shown pictures of the inside of our chimney and was told that the fireplace is unsafe to use- that it has misaligned, open dry joints between the sections of terra-cotta and the flue can no longer contain the heat or the flue gas as needed...that it was unsafe to use unless we did repairs using the "Fireguard system" to repair the open joints at $2550.00. Oh yeah, we also needed a crown at $375 and a crown guard at $275. Mr. Barr. came the next day, just a few hours after after I had called and inspected the chimney using a flash recorder video and found the flue to be in good condition. He recommended we repair cracks in the crown with a crown coat which comes with 15 year warranty at $250, which needs to be done in milder temps. Long and short, beware of the coupons you receive by mail...Safe-T-Sweep has earned our business, now and in the future!

However, after Jonathan inspected the situation it turned out that installing a new, modern, top-sealing damper was the better way to go. He was courteous, professional, and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I would definitely call him again for chimney cleaning or other maintenance.

Professional service with a touch of whimsy. We originally called for a cleaning and to price a top sealing chimney damper. After inspecting the chimney he advised us that the cleaning was not necessary at this time, which we found to be very professional. We did have the top sealing chimney damper installed and have been very pleased with it. A few days later when the damper wouldn't close properly, he was able to come back and adjust it that day. With his tall ladder, he even helped finish our Christmas lights! Definitely will use again.

Mr.Barr was very professional. He responded quickly to my initial inquiry and made it easy to set up an appointment. He was polite, punctual, and made a point to keep my home clean. He was honest. I had initially retained him to clean two fireplaces that had not been cleaned since we purchased the home over three years ago. He looked at them both and said that one was not in need of cleaning. When I explained to him that I want to begin using the fireplace with some regularity, he took the time to show me how the damper and ash box work, told me about fireplace usage and safety and also left me with a helpful brochure explaining all of it. His fee was reasonable. I will call Mr. Barr again and will recommend Safe T Sweep to friends. Definitely call Safe T Sweep for all your fireplace needs!

He was RIGHT on time, and very courteous throughout. This was actually a second inspection, as the first company recommended a liner, we weren't quite sure about it so we had Safe T Sweep do a second inspection. He was friendly, punctual, knowledgeable, took his time to explain what he was doing and why. It was a very good experience.

This was the first time the chimney had been cleaned since we built the house 25 years ago. I expected the worst but was told that everything looked normal, just dirty. I had used hardwoods to burn over the years so there was big buildup of creosote. He arrived on time, called by phone prior to arriving and was totally professional. After cleaning out the chimney (from the inside, not the Roof ), Mr Barr did a nice job of cleaning up the glass doors which also had 25 years of buildup-we can now see through the clear glass again!). Not a bit of dirt anywhere. If you need your chimney cleaned, stop looking elsewhere - you need to use Safe T Sweep.

Wonderful chimney sweep service for my 50+ year old house. Owner of company does the work, very punctual, polite and clean. Not the cheapest person on the list but the service is excellent and would highly recommend. Most importantly the price he quoted was the price I was charged, no surprise up charges or additional fees you might get from a lower cost 'special' price deal. Very happy and now I can enjoy my fireplace without worry for the holidays!

Everything went Excellent! Jon & his son came and did work on a Saturday (which was great) at 12pm. Jon was on time and after our intial communication, you would not even have known he was there. Overall, work took a few hours to complete & was very good at putting sheets down to keep area clean. When done he was dsone with actual work he did a great job cleaning up. he vacuumed area after he was done & I couldnt even tell he was in the area. Jon explained to me all the work he had done & everything I needed to know. Jon had even done some minor extra work that was found around the chimney for no extra charge. You can't beat that! Overall, I am extrememly pleased with Safe-T-Sweep. I would and plan on using them again in the future fro any chimney work or cleaning we have done. Thanks Safe-T-Sweep for a painless process.

I contacted Safe-T-Sweep to come out to inspect our chimney for possible repairs following a visit from a supposed home improvement company that solicited us to clean our chimney. That company tried to sell us a new chimney liner and indicated our chimney needed major repair work. We wisely choose to call someone on our own to make sure the work actually needed to be done. Doug knew all about the company in question and shared some horror stories from other clients, leaving me very glad we did not bite on what they were trying to sell us. Doug agreed to come out to inspect our chimney on the day after Thanksgiving which was a time that fit both our schedules. He was very friendly and extremely professional throughout the visit. He inspected the pipes and bottom of the chimney in the basement. He put a mirror up the chimney from the basement to show me that it was pretty clear and did not need cleaning. However, since we could see blue sky, he knew without getting on the roof that we had no chimney cap. There was some visible corrosion on the pipe from the furnace to the chimney. It was still solid so he felt did not need repair at this time. He did suggest we secure the pipe with several screws as it was just pieced together. After he inspected the top of the chimney he took some pictures and showed me that we needed some pointing done as there were many gaps between the bricks. He felt the liner was in good shape at this time. He recommended we have a chimney cap installed to keep out small animals. I asked him to install the chimney cap while he was there and to put in sufficient screws to secure the furnace pipes properly. The work was completed in short amount of time. He recommended someone to do the chimney pointing for us and wrote that person's name and telephone # on the invoice. I was extremely pleased with Doug's customer service and professionalism and would absolutely recommend him and his company to friends and family!

This company was very professional and easy to work with. The owner and his son install a liner in our furnace chimney. They were very respectful of our house, they showed up on time, and they even gave us a complimentary cap to keep birds/leaves out of our fireplace chimney. I highly recommend this company and I plan on using them for routine chimney sweeps in the future.
