About us

Family owned business. Jonathan Barr is a second generation master chimney sweep. Kenneth Barr started the business while teaching at Upper Darby High School, where he tormented boys and girls for over 30 years as a Physical Education teacher. We offer off-season specials, from March to August you can receive a $25.00 off discount on our normal sweep rate. Award winning. Veteran owned (USMC)

Description of Work: We had "stuff" running down our chimney and into the basement from the heavy and frequent snows of the past winter. Pretty convinced that we were going to need a new liner. Turns out all we needed was a good cleaning, which is what we got because our "T" and the bottom of the chimney was clogged. Also an inspection, which showed our chimney is still in pretty good shape, although we should be thinking about a liner in the not to distant future.

Description of Work: I called Safe-T-Sweep to have an inspection of the fireplace chimney flue and a chimney cap installed on the roof. Jonathan was very honest and told me the chimney was still clean so I didn't need that done. However, while installing the cap, he did find cracks that will have to be fixed in the spring. Overall I was pleased with his service and plan on getting him to come back for the cracks.

Awesome!
Description of Work: Cleaning and inspection of gas fireplace, cleanly, quickly and efficiently done. The technician provided some useful safety tips about carbon monoxide. Also, rearranged the artificial logs to promote a better better efficiency and appearance.

All went well.
Description of Work: I called Jonathan on 4-30-2012 and asked if he could put caps on my chimneys. He promptly worked me into his schedule and installed the caps the very next day. The price was good plus an Angies List discount applied. This is the second time within the last few months that I have used Jonathan. Back in December of 2011 he did a chimney sweep. Both service calls were very good experiences.
