the work was done quickly and professionally. Joe and his crew were very neat and respectful.

We contacted MSI Waterproofing because of a water problem in our basement (which also led to a mold problem). When he arrived, the representative explained that they now just do mold remediation, not waterproofing, and that we would have to find another company to deal with the water. The price he quoted for the mold remediation seemed rather high, although I don't have much to compare it with. Since our primary problem was the water, we chose to look elsewhere.

The contact name is Joe Fiorilli. I didn't get his name through Angie's List. I got it through my insurance company. I didn't even know he was on Angie's List. He was much much more expensive than the company I had do the work. He was fine. He showed up when he was supposed to. It seemed like what he was going to do was fine. It was just a matter of price. I will never use them again.

MSI came out quickly to remove and treat molding from water coming into the home. They responded quickly to phone calls, were out when they said they would be out, gave a timely estimate and stayed within the estimated pricing. They left the area worked on clean and did a professional job. I would most certainly use them again, or recommend them to friends in the future.

They were punctual and seemed responsive. They answered calls promptly and came as scheduled. They worked the entire day and kept me updated with the progress. I liked them a lot and will continue to use them in future.

We had what turned out to be a small mold problem behind a finished wall in our basement. Joe with MSI Waterproofing responded quickly and assessed our needs. He remediated the mold; located the source of the water infiltration through a crack in the poured concrete basement wall; and repaired the crack with a chisel out/triple fill process which will last long term. I didn't want the simple caulk method others offered at a lower cost. I wasn't comfortable with an easy fix. I am confident he has fixed the problem. He cleaned up after himself, took extra care to respect my property, and respected me thus earning my trust and respect. I have no hesitation recommending Joe to anyone looking for high quality at a reasonable price.

One night in the middle of April of this year, it rained harder than it had in years. The basement would always get a little damp in the rain, but it never seemed that bad. This night, though, the basement flooded, and we had water springing out from the basement walls and coming up from between the floor and the wall in one part. I did my best to control the damage, but it was a very close call that it didn't do any major damage. I did some research that night on waterproofing companies, determined to deal with the problem quickly. I liked the way MSI sounded and the reviews I could find, so I called up Joe the next day. He was very responsive and came out to the house the very next day, and was good enough to come by after 6 PM when I got home from work. Joe assessed the situation and was very knowledgeable in answering all of my questions. He said he'd do what he could to keep it from being too expensive. He got back to me in a couple of days with an estimate and a description of what he recommended. He regretfully informed me that, because of the lack of any control over the neighbor's property which bordered the worst of the leakage, he would have to install a sump pump and french drain system. He said he didn't like to recommend such a solution, as they tend to be rather expensive, but it would be all he could reasonably do. I thought about it, but decided it was a fair price for the extent of the work, considering the damage that serious flooding could do to the house (though it was more than I originally expected to spend). He also recommended applying a waterproof coating to the brick side of the house, as he noticed a lot of brick dust in the basement from bricks deteriorating from water exposure. MSI began the work the next week, which I was impressed by. Joe and his crew were respectful of the needs and schedules of everyone who lives here, as some parts of the job involved covering the front door when applying the coating to the bricks, and didn't want to trap anyone in or out of the house. Joe was at the house every day of the job. The whole process took about four of five days of intense labor. They tore up the floor of the basement and removed tons of rocks and (very hard) dirt in preparation for installing the drainage system (not to mention the amount of new material they had to bring in). The structure of my house is not very helpful to anyone working in the basement, as there are no windows that open and no stairs other than the one set of steps that pass through the main floor of the house. He was very considerate and concerned about the amount of dust that was generated from tearing up the floor, and left no mess whatsoever. He gave me a choice as to which kind of sump pump I should install, giving me the pros and cons of each. And when the placement of one of the existing support pillars of the house was interfering with the original plan, he worked around it and made the job a little more complicated and promised the end system would be more effective without charging me anything extra, which was a very nice plus. Joe called every day to update me as to the status of the job, and made sure to clear all steps of the process with me when anything unexpected came up. The new floor is in much better shape than the old floor. He introduced me to a plumber who connected the sump pump to the sewer line, and an electrician to connect the pump to the electrical system, so I didn't have to research even more contractors. I have other structural issues I'd like to have deal with at some point, but will have to wait for a while before I'm able to proceed. When I am ready, though, I will probably be calling MSI again, as he suggested a few solutions to the issues I mentioned to him even though he knew I wouldn't be including them in the same project as the basement waterproofing job. It hasn't rained as heavily again yet, so the system hasn't been fully tested. But during the installation before setting the new floor, he poured 40 gallons of water into the trenches he installed, and verified that everything correctly flowed into the pump and out of the house. I'm confident that the system will do a much better job of preventing the basement from flooding again.

He did the external part of the house as well. It was more than just a patch-up job that he did. He is very good. He is very knowledgeable and does good work. He always tells me exactly what he is doing. He is very professional but very friendly and accessible. He is a little bit harder to get a hold of. I don?t think he has a regular secretary, but if I leave a message, he will get back to me, and he is usually pretty timely. He shows up on time, and if he is held up with another job, he will always inform me, usually a day or two in advance. He offers me different options, and that helps me choose where I want to go with the project, which of course goes along with the prices too. I would rate him highly and would use him again in the future.

They totally understood that we were getting a new kitchen and got the job done in a timely fashion. They came everyday on time and just the way they covered all the windows and their prep work showed their expertise. Several rains have passed and we haven't had a drop of water. The owner Joe is very nice and patient to explain everything and has tremendous experience. Very great company to deal with.
