First mold removal testing operation told us that we had a major mold problem and needed $37,000 in remediation. I called MSI for a second opinion. Joe was fantastic. Agreed that I was being ripped off. He explained why the first operation's testing wasn't even entirely legitimate. Nonetheless, there was mold in the basement. He did agree that needed remediation. $3800 later and my mold is gone in the basement. My husband's headaches are gone, my stuffy nose is gone, and my autistic son had a leap in improvement. Don't allow mold in your home to harm your life, but also don't overpay to get it removed.

Really well! I live in Florida and my mom lives in a Philadelphia suburb. Her basement was flooded from a torrential rainstorm. With the pandemic I couldn't fly up to assist. She and I were both distressed. Joe Fiorilli, the company owner contacted me directly by phone and text, took a full accounting of the situation and stayed in touch with me until the work was complete. He and his workers were kind and supportive (and safe!) with my mom and were so responsive in keeping me apprised to how the work was coming along. The work was completed efficiently and effectively. Joe treated us like we were family. My highest recommendation!

After a roofing fiasco, my house was left with copious water damage through three floors. With the exception of 2 rooms, all of the rooms had water damage. MSI was very responsive and walked me through what to expect with the process. With covid and the extent of the damage, MSI talked me through the process, took ample precautions against the plague, and answered all of my questions. After starting, Joe of MSI kept me in the loop with any updates and any concerns they encountered. With the age of the house, I was really worried that there would be surprise costs and the remediation could damage old woodwork. I didn't need to worry. MSI professionally removed all of the water damage and adapted the plan to make the future repairs easier. They made sure my house was habitable after their work was completed and that my home was well set up for the next slew of contractors to properly finish the repairs. I don't know how they removed so much plaster without scuffing the narrow stairwells. The crew were very respectful and kind. They were on time, they showed me things to look out for, discussed what to expect everyday, and they were very cautious with my pets (making sure doors were closed, etc.). With the pandemic still looming, they wore masks all of the time. The price was right on target with what Joe anticipated, which was a massive relief as I am used to prices ballooning with an old house. They communicated with my home insurance too. I'm so happy that I was referred to MSI rather than going with Servpro, which would have been hella more expensive and not tailored to my house's needs. Though I sincerely hope that I don't need their services in the future, I will definitely be a return customer to MSI if a water tragedy comes my way again.

I recently moved to a new apartment and contacted MSI to conduct mold testing and to inspect the property for potential water damage. My husband and I were considering whether to purchase a home that previously had a stucco exterior. The previous owner remediated the stucco and replaced it with Hardie Plank siding. The windows in this home also had issues. We almost walked away from purchasing this home because we were afraid of what was behind the drywall. We called Joe Fiorilli and he took a great deal of time explaining to us what he could do to help us determine if we had lingering mold issues. During the inspection process, Joe took over 10 mold samples throughout the test. The test did come back positive for several molds, including dangerous black mold. Joe gave us a projected estimate for what he thought the remediation would cost. Based on his reasonable estimate, we purchased thee home. Joe's team came in and removed the drywall and insulation to expose the mold and dispose of the material. The team sprayed the plywood which also had previous water damage. The bill was the projected estimate. Thanks to Joe, when we replace and paint the new drywall, we will be living in our "dream house" which we almost didn't purchase. Joe is thorough, responsive and spends the time to help customers understand the process.

My brother’s basement flooded from a malfunctioning valve in his washing machine. There was a great deal of water that sat for some time before the issue was discovered. Fortunately, I knew just who to call when he needed a hand. I called MSI and spoke to the owner Joe, who arrived with his crew at my brother’s home within an hour. They were very considerate of the current safety recommendation and wore masks and gloves during our entire encounter and went to work immediately. Among easing our anxiety, they extracted all of the water, cleaned, and dried the basement, leaving some drying equipment behind to ensure that nothing was left soiled. When Joe came back to pick up his equipment, he also checked over everything thoroughly and performed mold testing. It’s tough to find thorough, affordable, and reliable companies anymore, but Joe and his team exceeded all of our expectations time and time again. Thanks so much guys!

We were interested in buying a home and wanted to do some additional mold testing. We had a bad experience with another company and decided to request additional testing and remediation with MSI. The process could not have gone smoother. Thanks to MSI, we were able to close on the home we wanted with a peace of mind! Here why MSI is the obvious and best choice: 1) They are trustworthy. MSI could've quoted a higher price, made some extra $ here and there from the back and forth results, etc. but I could tell that MSI took their work seriously and valued integrity and honest work above $. He offered several different price options for us based on the results and scope of work and made suggestions that were very reasonable and appropriate. They were also very transparent throughout the whole process. 2) MSI's team are available and they have great customer service. The owner was available to answer any questions and was quick to respond. Throughout the whole process, I knew what was being done and felt comfortable to ask as many questions I had. He was willing to not only answer any them, but explain accurately, kindly, and honestly his assessment and provided ongoing updates. MSI and his team are really personable and helpful. 3) They are extremely thorough yet fast. This is not easy to accomplish! The last thing I wanted was black toxic mold lingering around (esp. with an infant) and not being able to find the source of where some of the mold was coming from with a tight timeline, was also stressful. I could tell MSI had a lot of experience and knowledge based on how they approached their work and rather than cut corners, they used their knowledge to hone in on specific areas. They found the source and remediated it completely and quickly. I know MSI also went above and beyond to get the lab results quickly so that we would be able to move forward with our closing process. Overall, I really felt like I learned a lot about mold growth, treatment, and prevention and would highly recommend MSI. They're the company that schools and real estate agents call for their personal home to be tested and remediated -- and there's a reason why.

I contacted MS&I on a Sunday evening after a previous contractor had terrified me about possible mold behind the drywall in my basement. Joe called me back the next day and scheduled an appointment for Wednesday. He arrived on time and completely put my mind at ease as soon as he stepped in my door. We talked about options and I decided to get the drywall cut out to be on the safe side. MSI did an excellent job remediating the mold in the basement of our new townhouse, and providing us with expert advice on how to keep the mold at bay in the future. My wife and I were dismayed to find mold growing on the walls of the finished basement in the new Philadelphia townhouse we had just purchased. Joe at MSI is, by far, the most profession business owner I may have ever hired. We hired MSI to clean up a mold issue that must have developed for years from a previous home owner. Joe's guys came in, cleaned up the bathroom, and offered advice and direction to prevent further issues. Early Summer, I had mold concerns in the cellar of my rental property. There was a mildew odor; the room was poorly ventilated and humid like most small cellars. Having a severe mold allergy myself, I also had concerns for my daughter's respiratory health. My realtor contacted MSI and the owner Joe promptly scheduled us for a mold test. Fortunately, the mold levels were normal, but he recommended a dehumidifier to maintain the humidity at a healthy level. *Installation of the unit immediately improved the odor and feel of the whole house. Joe patiently and professionally explained set-up needed and how to properly care for and obtain the best results from the unit. He was also very responsive whenever I had questions or concerns. Joe and the team were TERRIFIC. I needed mold remediation in order to close a house sale on an extremely tight time frame. They were able to schedule and complete everything by the deadline, despite numerous hiccups (outside of all of our control!) Joe performed a surface sampling inspection for us. After having a previous mold issue prior to having our roof replaced, I was extremely nervous about having another problem. He was incredibly thorough, explained the process, and spent the time checking multiple areas of our attic to make sure I was comfortable. He got us our report back in just a few days to allow us to quickly move forward in the process with our insurance company. I can't say enough good things!

We hired MSI to clean up the mold in our basement. The home was built in 1961 and the basement had been neglected for decades. The MSI team spent 4 days removing the mold and washing the floors, walls, etc. The mold was removed from the walls and the team spent time washing down the basement to ensure no other mold would spread. We could visibly see the difference in our basement once the MSI team was finished. The team was extremely thorough and professional, I would definitely hire them again.

MSI did a great job in removing the water damaged carpets and performing the work for the mold remediation on the impacted area. I spoke with Joe several times to set up the job and he was always responsive in returning calls. Joe and Team were flexible with my schedule for the pick up of the equipment and the crew was very professional. Even after the job was completed, I had a follow up question on the leak coming into my house and Joe put me in touch with two service professionals he trusted to do the work. I had substantial mold in the basement of my rental property. MSI was very responsive to my request, did a thorough and timely job and took a great amount of time to explain everything and offer helpful advice. Although expensive by the nature of the work, they cost less than other provider's quotes and left me with a greater degree of confidence that I was getting the job done properly. All of this was especially appreciated as I was hiring this project while out of town and unable to meet service providers in person.

A few months ago my mother moved to Philly. She became ill and unable to take care of herself or her home. Living in a different city the was very difficult to deal with. The state of her home was more then a normal cleaning crew would be able to mange. One call to Joe and the MSI team and I knew that job would be done right. Joe and his team made me feel like family as they helped me to take care of my mothers home in this hard time. After 5 hours of cleaning they left the home cleaner then the day she had moved in. All Smells were gone and you could truly eat off the floor. Bio-Hazard cleaning is not something anyone thinks they will ever deal with. It can be an embarrassing phone call to make. After a fire in my home that involved months of insurance and claim management issues, Joe and his team not only provided exceptional and thorough post-fire mitigation services, but he also took a tremendous amount of time to assist me in getting my claim back on course. My experience with MSI was one of the best customer service experiences that I've ever had with any company or vendor. Joe is extremely knowledgeable and technical in his field of specialty. He's honest and goes above and beyond to help his clients in all facets of their home-related issues; he basically treats you like family. MSI's work was done professionally and comprehensively, and they supplied all the documentation that was needed so that there were no questions left from the insurance company. Joe's pricing was beyond reasonable, and he invested several hours to ensure that his invoice for services would be understandable to my insurance company adjuster (to be sure I wasn't left footing the bill for any necessary mitigation work). In the end, the insurance company paid for all that Joe billed without any back-and-forth appeals, and thanks to the excellent work by Joe and his team, my home is finally primed to be restored. I am genuinely so thankful that I found Joe and MSI to assist me with what otherwise could have been a disastrous experience. Peace of mind is a true commodity when you're dealing with a large fire claim, and Joe helped me find that much needed peace of mind.
