Description of Work: I've been having issues in my laundry room for over a year. And I thought it was my washing machine. It turned out to be something totally different and I was amazed how quickly Troy figured it out. I'd also had another repairman out prior to Troy, as it turns out Troy will be my go to |appliance repairman from now on. He's congenial, competent, reasonable in his fees and I guess that sums up why I'll call him when I need him. |

Description of Work: There was smoke in my basement. I thought my washing machine motor burned out. He came out that day. He checked out my machine and could not find a problem. He turned on the machine and it worked. He figure out that the baluster in my fluorescent light had burned out above my machine. He helped be disconnect the light and did not take advantage of me. Description of Work: Troy replaced an igniter in our oven. He was able to squeeze us in the day after I called, even though it was before a holiday weekend and he was busy. I wasn't home at the time, so I didn't get to meet him, but my husband said he was professional and courteous.

Description of Work: The ignitors of my stove top wouldn't stop clicking, even when gas was off. Had to unplug range to get it to stop. Troy was able to stop by and evalutate, figured out the problem, and let me wait a couple of days to let it dry out to see it that solved issue. it did, and he only charged me for the house call.

Description of Work: LG dryer needed to be repaired. As usual, Troy returned my initial call within a few hours and based on the description of the problem ordered some parts and came prepared to fix the problem on the spot, which he did. I really appreciate that he works this way. Instead of coming out, looking at the dryer, then ordering the parts and having to wait for them, he is able to take care of the problem on the first trip out. Thanks Troy!

+ -1 moreTroy was able to come over within 2 days of my call. He showed me what was causing the problem with my DW and explained my options for fixing it or replacing the DW altogether. I chose to fix it as this is the best choice for my personal, current situation. Troy went out to buy the parts, returned quickly, and did the repairs carefully and quickly. Now my DW hums as if it were brand new and I am happy! It was difficult to find an appliance repair person who worked on DWs and would travel to my area of the city. Troy does all appliances and I expect to call him again for work on my dryer. Thanks, Troy!

+ -1 moreFirst repair about two years ago, leaking refrigerator. Troy found the problem right away, the defrost drain was blocked and he unclogged and cleaned that. He also cleaned out the coils under the fridge. The ice maker had not been working for years, so he checked that and gave me an estimate of what parts he thought would be needed to fix it. Got the parts in and it works better than it did when new! Second repair a few months ago, dishwasher not cleaning well. We were just going to replace it vs. paying for $$$ repairs on a 12 yr old unit. Called Troy and we did some troubleshooting over the phone, including verifying that it was filling, draining, heating, drying. That ruled out expensive motor and thermostat repairs, so he came out. Just needed supply drains cleaned. Has been working well ever since. Troy is very professional, very prompt and very nice. Explained everything. His prices were very reasonable (no separate trip charge!) and as estimated. We will use him for any future appliance repairs and recommend him 100%!

+ -1 moreI left a message on his answering machine describing the problems with my dishwasher and oven. He called back shortly after that. He was very flexible with the scheduling and we made an appointment for the next morning at 8 am. He showed up right on time. The problem with the oven didn't happen when he was there, but I described what happened (some error code when using the "speed bake" feature) and he explained to me that this might have happened due to a stuck key in the keypad that is no longer stuck. Dishwasher had two problems: loud noises (which he fixed by cleaning out the filter in the dishwasher) and the fuse tripped from time to time. It took a while to re-produce that one and he did a great job in narrowing down what was causing it (happened only when the dishwasher was on-the furnace started heading and an electric heater in the family room was turned on)...turned out that the electric heater that we started using two weeks ago (roughly the same time when the problems started) was overloading the circuit if everything was on. So a simple solution was to plug that heater in somewhere else. Troy spent quite some time here to figure out what was wrong and did a great job in narrowing it down.

+ -1 moreWatching Troy work was a pleasure. He made the whole repair look easy, which it is not. That ability to make it look easy is the mark of someone who really knows what they're doing. He had the special tools needed to make the repair go smoothly. He explained things as he went along, was neat about his work and was done in two hours.
Description of Work: The upper seal bearing had gone out on my Maytag washer. I called Troy on the recommendation of Jim Wadding. Troy called me back the following day and was able to come that same day and diagnose the problem. He gave me an estimate and made an appointment to come back the following morning to perform the repair. He arrived at the time he said he would and performed the repair. The washer now works as it should.
