TROY'S APPLIANCE SERVICE

I was referred to Troy by another Angie's list large appliance service provider because the one I called did not repair front loading washers. I called Troy on Thursday afternoon and spoke with him Friday morning. He was very nice to speak with on the phone. He came to the house around 12:30 that same day and did the repair. Very impressive considering he lives 25 miles away. I was not at home, but had a caregiver at the house who watches my 89 year old mother. The caregiver left me a note that Troy was very kind to my 89 year old mother and spent time talking with her while he was waiting for the washing machine to run its cycle. I recalled that Troy had asked me my mother's name when I was spekaing to him that morning. So I am very impressed with his quick response to our need and his kindness to a dear old woman. I would not hesitate to call him again.

We received a referral to Troy from someone else on Angie's List who was not able to do the work due to illness. We left voicemail and Troy called back the next morning. He was able to come out at our convenience the following day and arrived in the timeframe that we had scheduled. He called to let me know he was on the way from the preceding service call to our house. Troy was very competent, professional, friendly, and figured out the problem quickly. He also gave me some advice on how to reduce the chance of breaking the (new) lid switch, which I appreciated very much. I did not get any other quotes, so I didn't know how to rate the price, but I believe his price was fair, and I certainly value his competence and upbeat attitude. He repairs other large appliances, and I would definitely call him back for any future repairs.

I left a message on Troy's voicemail during the afternoon. He returned the call that evening but we were not in. He called again the next day and when the problem was explained said he could come out that afternoon. He did and was able to replace the parts on that visit.

Troy came out on a Saturday to save the contents of our refrigerator! A part was defective, and Troy was more or less able to diagnose it over the phone Friday night and come to our house Saturday morning with the part to fix it. Outstanding service, great value for the money. Highly recommend.

Wow customer service! Just like the old days. On 1/10/2012 he returned the call, asked question, made an appointment for the next day. On 1/11/2012 he was prompt, explained the problem, price, and ordered part, made appointment for the next day. On 1/12/2012 he was prompt and was done within 45 minutes. He has a professional attitude but nice!

I was having trouble with my Samsung washer giving me a "no fill" error code when there didn't appear to be any actual problem with the water supply. Rather than pay Samsung $145 for a service call, I looked around for someone else to look at it for less. It turns out a lot of people won't service Samsung at all! Troy returned my message the same day and talked me through several possible causes over the phone. At his suggestion, I later opened up the panel of the washer and found a loose wire to the water sensor that seems to have been the problem. So it ended up costing me nothing to fix, thanks to Troy generously spending time with me on the phone!

Troy came within a few hours of my call and finished the job in about 20 minutes. He only charged for the service call. He was very friendly and polite.

He was very professional and I would use him again and recommend him.

Troy came when he was supposed, and fixed both issues for a price that was less than I expected for him to just show up. Highly recommended.

Troy returned our calls for service the same day. He came out the same day for one issue and the following day for the other. He was able to get a good idea of the dryer issue from our description over the phone, he asked for the model number of the dryer so he could get a part. His diagnosis was correct and he had the problem fixed in no time. He showed us what to do if the same issue arises again. We find Troy to be an honest, competent and efficient repairman. Will call him for all our appliance repairs. Getting the job done properly and quickly is stress free!

My wife and I were very impressed with Troy's honesty with providing us with a diagnosis over the phone, and saving us the cost of a service call. We will be calling Troy for future appliance repairs.

Our refrigerator stopped working and we needed someone fast. Everyone we contacted couldn't make it out for at least 3 days. We called Troy, he responded promptly and fixed it at a very reasonable price. We are keeping his magnet on our refrigerator and will definitely use him in the future!

He arrived promptly, fixed the dishwasher and then notice that I had a burner on the stove that was bent and damaged. He asked me about it and I told him that I had left something on the stove and forgotten about it and it had burned onto the burner and stuck. In getting the item off the burner, I bent and damaged the coils and it no longer worked. He said, "I may have one in my truck that will fit". He then checked the price of the burner, asked me if that was acceptable and got one of his truck and fixed it and the contact it went into. This is certainly above and beyond what I had expected. I'm so glad that he was observant and helpful. Now my dishwasher works and so does my stove burner! Great job!

I contacted Troy a day before and he got back to me later that day. We had a front load washer that was leaking. He showed up as promised. He was quick, thorough, and professional. He even walked me through and showed me what needed to be repaired. He made a special trip to go get the part so I could have my washer back that day! Price was very reasonably. Will use again.

The job was excellent. He didn't try to do work that was unnecessary. He gave us his frank opinion, which we appreciated which essentially meant that there was nothing he could really do. It would cost more to fix it than to buy a new washer, which is what we did.

I contacted Troy's Appliance Service a little past 9:00am today. I spoke with a very friendly person on the phone. Thru the course of 10 minutes or so she felt that it was a job that they had done before. She was very patient and understanding of my problem. She explained that when he called in she would ask him about repairing the refrigerator. About I think an hour I received a phone call from Troy. After telling Troy about the refrigerator he felt that he knew what the problem was and that he would try to get to my house this day, if not he would be here first thing in the morning tomorrow. He called late in after noon and asked if he could come to repair appliance this pm. Absolutely. He introduced himself, was very polite and went to work straight away. Diagnosed what had to be done. Had the refrigerator fixed in about an hour. He explained what had to be done and informed me of the cost before repair. I could say without a doubt that that had to be the best repair job I ever had done in my house. I told him I got his name from Angie's List and he smiled. I felt so safe calling a business that I did not know of to repair my fridge. If it was in Angie's List then he had to have a good reputation. I read the other responses and that helped greatly. I would highly recommend his business. Thanks Troy.

Stove caught on fire. Was able to diagnose issue. Called Troy who agreed with my diagnosis and ordered the part (of course none in town had it). Part came in the following week. Called Troy to set up install time. We agreed on a date. 2 days later he called and said he could come over now, it was Saturday. Troy arrived on time and proceeded with the repair. As usual, nothing is as simple as it should be but Troy was persistent and was able to remove the remaining screws (10 total - 8 came out in less than 1 minute - last 2 took 45-60 minutes to remove due to seized screws). Troy put everything back together and made sure everything was working as it should. Price was less than I was expecting. Troy was very professional and knowledgeable. Would definitely use again in the future.

Troy was recommended by another A-grade guy on Angie's list (Jim Wadding), who didn't do dishwashers, so I gave a call. Troy came by the next day, quickly diagnosed both problems (dishwasher and oven). For the dishwasher, a switch needed replacing; for the oven, some cleaning needed to be done in the vicinity of the pilot light. Since the oven had to be heated to diagnose it, and since a switch needed to be ordered for the dishwasher, Troy said he would come back another day. He thought it might be a week or two, but amazingly Troy managed to come up with the correct switch in a couple of days. Then the problem was trying to coordinate with my work schedule, but we found a time that worked, and he came back by and fixed both appliances. They are both working fine now. I thought it went great. Troy was quick to figure the problems out, very clear about what he needed to do, and very personable. Also, the price was extremely reasonable; he did not charge me to look at the second appliance, since it just needed a bit of cleaning.

I called Troy the day that I was off work to have some other things done at the house, and really didn't expect that he would have time to come to the house that day, but I definitely needed to get this remedied. He was there just after the lunch hour. Troy is very professional, and is very easy to talk with, on the phone and in person. He, obviously, solved the problem right away. I don't regret not looking at the water lines before I called him. It is very difficult to squeeze back there, and I don't know that I would have been able to figure it out myself anyway (I would have been so frustrated). I've had my HE washer since 2004. Troy has made two house calls in the last year. I hope to keep this washer running for a long time to come! I trust Troy and appreciate his responsiveness and professionalism immensely. He gets an A+ in my book.

Both times, that Troy came, he called, found that I was available, and came in about 1 hour or less.

We selected this company from previous reviews on Angie's List and telephoned on a Saturday morning. The owner, Troy, returned our call within 30 minutes and questionned us about the prior issues with the frig. He diagnosed the problem over the phone and said that he could be at our home later that morning. Troy arrived around 12:30 on a Saturday. He removed the back panel of the frig, exposing the ice block formed around the coil. He explained the cause aof the problem and shared with me, that not matter how many times I removed the panel, put a hair dryer to the coil to melt the ice...this problem would reoccur every 4 to 8 weeks. Oh, by the way, this problem had occurred several times prior and I was convinced that I could fix it. So, he melted all of the ice surrounding the coil, replaced the defrost thermostate, waited until the unit operated normally, and presented me with a bill that was shocking...less than $200.00 for parts and service on a SATURDAY!!! Where has this guy been all of my life! I would recommend Troy's Appliance Service to everyone.

Overall, both visits from Troy were successful in diagnosing my appliance problem and repairing it. I would definitely recommend him to others and would call him again.

This was the 4th or 5th time we have used Troy (all of our kitchen and laundry appliances are 16-14 years old). Washer was stopping during fill cycle. If you turned it to "Spin" it would work, but nothing else. Troy found a blown fuse and repaired. He wasn't sure it was the whole problem, but he's not about replacing parts he's not sure you need. A couple of days later it stopped working again. This time he replaced an electric switch unit and it is working fine. Total cost for both trips and repair was $130. Very reasonable. Troy is a great guy and I have recommended him to friends and they, too, have been pleased with his work.

The service person, Troy Benson himself, asked me a few questions and discovered the problem immediately - one of my wife's "footie stockings" was clogging and jamming the pump mechanism. There's a failsafe switch that, if the pump won't turn, then nothing else will run, either. Troy quickly removed the washer cabinet, unhooked the pump and yanked the stocking out of its mechanism. When he reattached the pump, everything worked fine. He didn't try to sell me any unnecessary parts -- and he gave me some maintenance tips to prolong the life of my "already 20 year-old" washer.

I called Troy since I had 2 appliances needing service. He had me check the Model # on the dryer so that he could bring the new timer with him. He did that job, & then found the leak in the water line & repaired it. Most of the cost was for the new part. Troy was very professional & knowledgable, and provided same day service. I would certainly use Troy's appliance service in the future.
