I contacted Burkholder”s for an estimate and David Wieder showed up as scheduled. He gave me all the details as to what they were going to accomplish if they were given the job. We decided to contract with Burkholder’s to replace out 55-year-old boiler and hot water heater. The men showed up installed everything the first day and removed the old boiler the next. They left the house clean and warm. Thank you Gentlemen.

Requested bids from four contractors, Carl Stankey from Lande provided a high efficiency system at a better price than any of the bids. Lande's installation was super professional and went beyond all expectations! I told Mr Stankey that he was luck to have the installers that he did, and he replied, I know! One of them has been with him for 18 years. These guys know their stuff, are super polite and went the extra distance to give us the best system that they could. The whole experience was a pleasure, and we now have the best system we have had in the last 28 years! The parts and labor are guaranteed for 5 yrs with an additional 5 yr guarantee.

We didn't ever get them to come out so take this merely as a comment on their customer service. We called Friday and spoke with someone on Saturday (I had to call; they didn't call me back an hour after they opened) about insulation coming through our vents. They said someone would be there in an hour, which would have been 10AM. At 10:30 I get a call from the technician that most likely it's rodents, and that he didn't recommend even coming out. I said I wanted someone to check on it anyway, to give me something definitive and he said he needed authorization. He said he'd be there between 12 and 1. At 1:45 I called him, and find out his truck brown down a half hour earlier. I called up their main office and asked about someone coming out during the week, and was told that the best they could do was put me on a waiting list. So...several problems. They don't call me back after I left a message the previous night. An hour is plenty of time to catch up with messages. Then I don't get a call until after the technician was supposed to show up. Then I find out he hasn't even been authorized to see us, despite Burkholder telling me he was already supposed to have been there. Then his truck breaks down 15 minutes after he's supposed to show up, and he doesn't call me over the next 30 minutes. Finally, even though we've stayed home all day (with 2 small kids losing their minds, btw), they couldn't even see us or do anything other than "put us on a list." This is terrible customer service.

It was more than I wanted to pay but it was better than buying a new one.

They were super easy to work with. Because I have the service contract with them, they put me at the top of the list for coming out to give me service the next day. So basically if I’m not an existing customer, maybe I would have waited 2 to 3 days.

Without AC with 90+ F temperature, Burkholders was able to fit me in on the same day I called as a first-time customer. I happily accepted the after hours service charge. A very professional and knowledgeable technician, Dan, diagnosed a leaking and corroded evaporative coil and low R22 refrigerant level. He re-charged the system back to full function and rightly advised that several replacement options were in the near future, including R410A compatibility issues. Service took 6 lbs of refrigerant making the total cost rather steep!

All people involved were very helpful and courteous and the job was done in a timely manner and at a reasonable price.

This is a mis-labelled service. It should call as an A/C inspection not "Tune up". There is no tune up or adjustment works have done to the unit. All other works will be charged additionally. Very pricy tune up proposal after the inspection, so I didn't use their service.

Tech took covers off inside and outside units and looked at works, then replaced covers, including one that contained a dead mouse. He replaced cover without removing mouse. When asked, he replied he doesnt touch mice. I could be wrong, but I feel I could have called any HVAC outfit and they would have told me the same without having to pay the $59. for a non existant "tune-up".

Excellent!!! Will use Burholkder's from now on. Previous company I used for YEARS never hosed off coils which I wasn't even aware should've been done on a yearly basis. Technician, Dan D., super professional, courteous and helpful. Quality work at a very good price.

Called first thing Monday morning. Everyone I spoke with was pleasant and helpful. All information was taken and was told that someone would contact me when a technician was free. We discussed that it may be after hours and was I ok with the after hour charge. I advised that if they came the next day it would be fine. About 4 hours after I called, I received a call that a technician was available. He showed up a few minutes later and was very polite and professional. The problem was dagnosed the and corrected very quickly. We're were very pleased with the service provided and will use this provider again. Thank you!

Service technician was knowledgable and was able to diagnosis issue as a bad TXV on Wed 5/25/16. We were told he would be providing serial numbers and models to service manager who would determine availability of part and schedule an appointment for the repair. No phone call back by Wed 6/1/16 so we called them to follow up. Operator told us the service manager was unavailable but she would give him our name and number and have him call us back. No call back. On Mon 6/13/16 visited physical location. We noted it had been 19 days and we have received no feedback on our repair and no response to our inquiry. We noted we wanted a refund for our service plan since they are obviously not interested in working for us. Receptionist took a copy of our bill, walked down the hall, then returned and said whats the best number for the service manager to reach you he is busy. Responded we don't mind waiting when will he be available, we received a firm response "HE is busy, we will have him call you what number do you want him to reach you at?". We received no phone call through the end of the day. 6/14/16 Early morning we sent feedback via e-ail on our experience to senior management (Joanne Suzadail, Robert Burkholder, Dave Wieder) who's e-mail addresses are listed on the company website. Senior management was unresponsive to feedback.

I contacted Burkholder's on Tuesday morning asking for service on my failing A/C unit. The pipes were fronting over and it was not cranking out cold air. The lady on the telephone was extremely polite ad helpful. I asked if they could come after work that same day. She explained the after hour rates and that she could have a technician meet me after work. When I arrived home the technician was sitting on the street waiting for me. He was very polite and knowledgeable. I showed him to the unit and controls. He asked if he could perform the diagnostic testing and I said please do. He checked the unit, the filters and the filter. He found that there was a loss of coolant (it was down 1.5 pounds) and the filter was clogged. It appears that there is a pinhole leak in the unit. I had been told this before from another provider. The technician asked if he could return to his van to figure out the cost and was back in ten minutes. In 2014 another provider of "total Service" had performed the same basic services and charged me around $1400.00 so I held my breath for the rate and he said $287.00 total including the service call for after hours. I authorized the charge and he serviced my unit. The technician cleaned up everything and reassembled my unit. He explained that his work was guaranteed and that if there were any issues to please call. He did advise me that my unit was 22 years old and it was probably going to need replacing in the future. We discussed the fact that the pinhole leak had caused the unit to need coolant twice in a two year span. There was no pressure or coercion whatsoever, the previous provider who had worked on the unit in 2014, was very aggressive in trying to sell me a ten thousand dollar unit to replace mine. I would recommend Burkholder's to anyone who asked. They were reasonable, personable, knowledgeable, and respectful. I

The whole process went very smoothly: from the initial consultation/estimate with Dave, to setting up the installation with Justin, and to the 2-day job done by Justin's 2-man crew. Everyone was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Although the price for a similar installation was $500-1000 lower with a few other competitors' estimates, we felt the most comfortable with the Burkholder's team, so there was no hesitation in our decision to go with them. We couldn't have asked for a better experience from start to finish!

Burkholder's removed our old (15 years) furnace and air conditioner and installed the new units. The old units hadn't failed yet, but I didn't want to wait for a failure and was interested in realizing the benefit of greater efficiency. We purchased top of the line "Infinity" series units. I scheduled the work for September in the expectation that the hot weather would be past. Not so. Temps reached 88 degrees that day, but they had the new air conditioning installed and working by the end of the day (4pm). The next day, the 10th, they returned to hook up the furnace. The new system was vastly different in its operation and the sales VP, Dave Wieder, was most helpful in answering questions and stopping by to ensure we understood what was going on. Justin Zelinsky was the project manager and he and Dave came by a few days later to correct an air "whistling" around the Aprilaire humidifier. They wound up installing additional foam insulation around the contact points and the problem was resolved. The whistling was only noticeable during high fan rates, but now it is quiet all the time. Dave explained the system's computer's need to "learn" the house during the first day or so, and the accompanying higher fan speeds. Also the firing rate modulation during first days of heating. I love the new thermostat, which allows a great range of monitoring, and once connected to my wifi, I can monitor the system's functioning using my smart phone when away. Justin still is scheduled to come back to reroute the condensate discharge line; first routing has the potential to freeze in the winter. He will be doing that in a few days. I was very happy with the professional and service minded people at all levels. The two installers were polite, friendly and considerate. And they didn't mind me watching them work and asking questions. This is our first experience with Burkholder's and I am very happy with the work and service.

The directed me to an energy assistance program that allowed me to get a low interest energy loan. They have wonderful customer service. If you call with an issue they are trying to resolve it as fast as they can. They do not try and over sell you.

Based largely on other Angie's List reviews and a very fair proposal I contracted Burkholder's to replace my 22-year old central A/C system with a new Carrier heat pump. Starting with the estimate visit, EVERYTHING went as planned. Dave, the comfort consultant, squeezed me in as we were in the middle of a 90 degree heat wave. Once I signed the contract, they delivered a couple of loaner window A/C units to use. The installation was scheduled quickly and Tina made sure everything went as planned. Justin, the project manager, made sure the install was scheduled quickly and everything necessary was provided. The techs were prompt, knowledgeable and worked diligently until the job was done. In fact, the completed project included more work than I expected relative to duct work replacement. Frankly, I don't know how this experience could have been any better!

I bought an $99 big deal for this service about a year ago. They were satisfactory. They treated me very professionally. They got here on time and anything that needed to be done on the inside they made sure they were not tracking anything in. They cleaned up when they left.

Everything was excellent and they were here with a brand new system in less than 3 days. They put us on a payment plan and we got a new furnace for Christmas. The staff was excellent and they took about 7 hours.

I would recommend them highly. I know there was a time when we had terrible heat wave and everybody was just trying to get somebody into fix something and it was so hard to get somebody to come in and they just made time for me right away. They were very courteous. They didn't try to oversell me anything and they fixed my problem. I was just very happy with their service. I would call them again. They were prompt and they were very reasonable. They don't try to sell you parts that you really don't need. They will try to work with what you have to save you on your budget. They are pretty quick. He was very nice young man and I actually did refer him to couple of my neighbors. I would absolutely use them again.
