PRO FLOOR SANDING

I needed to have about 360 sqft of carpeting removed and hardwood installed in it's place. I also wanted the existing 1020 sqft of hardwood (red oak) refinishred and all stained to match. I did have the luxury of not having any furniture or appliances in the house as we bought it and did not move in yet. This did make it easier for all of us. Pro Floor sanding gave me the best price for the work and explained the limitations that we could run into trying to match the existing wood with the newly intalled wood. He also explained that we would be able to see a few stains that we picked out on the floor where the existing and new met so we could see how they all looked when applied to both floors. Julio and his crew did start on schedule and completed it on schedule. Both he and his crew where curtious and profession at all times. Both he and his crew would answer any questions and address any concerns, they did treat me, the customer, very well and quickly solved any issues I had with the work. I mentioned it already but have to repeat that I was impressed by his crew. Often the owner treats the customer well and the rest of the crew is not so good. This was not the case as his guys worked very hard and were very upbeat and professional. I would recommend Pro Floor Sanding and encourage the owner to discuss any concerns about the job, Julio will explain and do what you need done exactly if you are clear on what you want done.

I was amazed when Julio showed up for his evaluation of the job -- that he arrived with two trucks and a full crew. After evaluating the area and the hardened material that the previous padding had turned into, he quoted me a reasonable price and said that he (obviously) could start immediately. Which was perfect -- his team got the entire job completed in under a week, and it looks great!

We could not be more pleased with the level of service and the outcome of the job. Julio was personally involved throughout. His advice was always spot on. We were trying to match the stain on our floors with existing stain on other floors in an older home. He worked with us trying many different samples of stain - until we achieved a perfect result. Our floors have never looked nicer. We heartily recommend Pro Floor Sanding and would absolutely use them again.

Julio and his crew arrived promptly on the first day, and got started straight away. There was a large, dark stain, as you entered the living room. Julio advised that, until he had sanded this spot, he couldn't be sure whether the area would need to be replaced with hardwood from the hallway closet or not. The stain had seeped through to the underside of the wood, so Julio couldn't just turn the pieces over. They did a great job taking wood from the closet and making a superb repair. New hardwood was installed into the closet. There were a couple of other much smaller repairs, again done to perfection. It is very clear that Julio and his guys take great pride in the work they carry out. Even though our project was relatively small, the attention to detail and professionalism was ever present. They countersink all the nails, and fill the holes! Amazing. Julio let us know that our floors were in good shape, as they had been under carpet for many years, and could easily take additional sanding in the future, when needed. We stayed in a hotel while the work was carried out, and I had no concerns about the guys being in our home without us being present. The end result is beautiful. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough.

Pro floor sanding was professional. Always showed up on time and were accepting of customer feedback during the job. Its hard to find companies willing to redo floors, most just want to replace them since its less work. We had a historic home with old growth pine, which we felt was worth keeping. We got three quotes on the job. Pro Floor was knowledgeable, price was on par the competition, and the level of detail provided in the quote is what won me over. We were happy with the work performed and would recommend them.

Although a little difficult to schedule--they were busy!--we had a great overall experience. Everyone was very professional, and the price was very reasonable. The floors in our west philly victorian--some of which had been covered in linoleum for decades--needed a fair amount of repair, and he did a good job of saving what he could and matching new to old.

I was very pleased and WILL use them again! From first call with their office to schedule appraisal appointment, to appraisal through completion of job. Professional, great communication throughout process, everyday the job was left clean. When it was time to choose color of stain Julio make three mixtures. One was my expected color and two other one lighter and one darker, a small detail but appreciated. His (Julio) assistant Jorge was excellent and I could see his attention to detail at every step. They were very careful and did a great amount of hand sanding near furniture. The final product was excellent and looked like a beautifully done brand new floor. I plan on having Julio back in two-three years to do touch-up/maintenance.

Julio and his crew fit me in very quickly to met my schedule. Everyone was very professional, friendly, on time, and did a beautiful job finishing ahead of schedule. I did how ever encounter one problem which was all my fault. After the last coat was applied it took a little longer to dry than the first two. I am assuming because of the temperature change outside. When I arrived home I opened the door reached down and touched the floor and it appeared to be dry. I proceeded to walk inside and a few steps in my boots started sticking to the floor. I was sick that I had messed up my newly refinished floors. The next day I called Julio and explained what I had done. The following day Julio and crew showed up and lightly resanded the last coat and put down a new one. So as not to mess up again I spent last night in a hotel and when I can home this morning my floors where dry and beautiful again. I would highly recommend PRO FLOOR SANDING to everyone. I would also like to add that of the 15 or so companies I called they where the only ones to answer the phone. I left messages with each company and to date almost 3 weeks later only 2 have returned my phone calls. I am an extremely pleased customer of PRO FLOOR SANDING.

Julio and his crew were professional, helpful and nice people to work with. Our new house had hardwood throughout and Julio and his team were able to sand and refinish to make them go from looking old and either damaged by water or dogs to looking beautiful and new. Julio gave a recommendation on a stain color when I was having difficulty deciding and it is really a perfect color for us. We would definitely recommend Julio and his crew and will have him back if we need any future work done.

Julio and his team did a great job! When we bought our house, the floors were in rough shape. We also wanted to extend the wood floor into the kitchen area since we were taking down a few walls and opening it up for a more open concept. Julio and his team were able to blend the new flooring with the old seamlessly! When they were done, the floors looked like new. Julio was patient with us as we decided on the stain color, and put down a bunch of different options on the floor so we could see how it looked. I would hire him again in a second!

I don't usually write reviews but Julio and his team were amazing. I had original old pine floors from 1930 and now they glow like they're brand new. I had two quotes from professionals and a third from a "handy man" that seemed like he did them in his spare time. Both the full time professionals quotes came within $5 of each other. The handy man came in significantly less at $2,700 ($700 less) but I paid for Julio because I was confident that they would turn out right. And boy they did! I needed Julio to get the floors done in a week turnaround and he somehow made it work. He was constantly communicating with me and his guys even came out over the weekend to meet my deadline. His updates before, during, and after the days work were like clockwork -- this guy is a machine! He was always responsive when I had questions. I couldn't be happier with the work. Go with these guys even if it's a bit more money...if nothing more, the peace of mind that it's going to get done right. I can slide across my floors now like Tom Cruise in Risky Business!

We recently had our hardwood floors refinished by a general contractor as part of a larger remodel job and unfortunately they did a poor job on the floor ? they left sanding divots everywhere, the stain was uneven, not enough polyurethane, etc. We decided we wanted them done right and I ended up contacting Pro Floor Sanding. Right from the start, Julio was a pleasure to work with. He came out the same day I contacted him and was confident he could fix the mistakes and save our floors. They had to start over, sanding them down, staining and applying three coats of poly. They did a top notch job and we are so glad we found them, the floors came out great! The difference in quality of work was amazing between Pro Floor Sanding and the last contractor who tried to do the floors. Julio and his crew were very professional the whole time. They showed up on time, explained what they were going to do and kept me updated throughout the job. I would use them again and highly recommend them.

Julio and his crew were the best. They took a great deal of care to seal off spaces to capture dust and prevent its incursion into cabinets, drawers, the refrigerator, pantry, and other parts of the house. There was almost no dust at all inside those cabinets, etc. and the rest of the house was free of dust as well. The work was done beautifully. In the worst areas, they applied three coats of varnish, sanding between each coat. In one area, there were some splotchy spots and I called them to inspect after the job was done. True to their commitment to professionalism, they redid an entire floor vs. just touch up spots. Julio and his crew are not only pros, they are very nice people. It was a pleasure to be around them for a few days.

Julio was great, did everything he promised, explained things clearly, always on time, and the end result looks fantastic. He encouraged us to go in and inspect at each phase and was asking to feedback. For example there were some boards that turned out to be a different color, and at our request he tinted the final coat to make them match, plus he left us a little touch up pot of the final coat so I can do repairs in future.

From the initial inspection and quote right through to the completion of the job, Julio and his crew exceeded all of our expectations. Julio took the time out to walk us through the process and ensure we were comfortable with the work proposed and his methods. The execution of the work was flawless and he even undertook repars which were in addition to what he had initially proposed. During the week the work was performed, we were both overseas and left Julio with our house keys. Upon return, we couldnt be happier with the condition of our property and in addition to recommending Julio and team for their professionalism and the quality of the their work, we highly recommend them for their trustworthiness.

Julio and his crew were excellent! They were punctual and so conscientious. They were working in our new home which we were not living in yet. Julio kept me up to date with phone calls on a regular basis. He always made sure he checked with us before doing anything unexpected. They were done in a very timely manner-a day or two before expected finish date. They cleaned up, even the layer of dust all over the house. Julio is a very kind person and honest business man.

Julio came to look at the floors and give me a quote the day after I bought the home. He showed and explained why the existing flooring on the first floor couldn't be saved. He showed me options of wood and finish, and explained the process. Knowing I was in a hurry to have the floors finished so we could move in, Julio told me what I could do to speed up the process - prep the floors myself by removing the carpet, pad and staples. The crew arrived a week later and did a beautiful job installing the new floor. Then they sanded down the old floor and starting sealing everything with three coats of oil-based polyurethane. The whole crew was polite and professional. They clearly take great pride in their work. Throughout the process, which took eight days, I spoke with Julio at least once a day. He always kept me informed of the status of the job. We discovered during the process that some of my existing trim was in bad condition, so Julio offered to replace it and told me the minor price increase immediately. I am thrilled with my new floors and highly recommend Pro Floor Sanding.

We cannot say enough good things about Julio and would highly recommend his company. He is reliable, communicative, and he and his crew are very professional. They did an amazing job refinishing our almost 100 year old floors. They look like brand new! They took the time to hammer down each nail and add wood putty over every nail hole, meticulous! Our living room had some termite damage in sub floors. Julio put the original veneers back down after we made repairs. It was like putting together a puzzle. No one that visits our home can tell that there was a repair made, a true artisan!

I selected Pro Floor sanding based on the high ratings garnered on Angie's List, which were corroborated by a friend's very positive experience with Julio and his crew. Motivated by both aesthetics and health concerns?wall-to-wall carpeting over beautiful hardwood floors is both a detestable and unhealthful feature if you're allergic to dust mites?I contacted Julio, who gave me a reasonable estimate for removal and disposal of the old carpet, removing nails and staples, sanding down the wood floors, and applying three coats of polyurethane. A full assessment of the condition of the existing flooring needed to wait until the carpet was removed. After that happened, Julio was in constant communication as they uncovered missing or damaged boards. I was briefed about unsightly gaps or missing boards. They did quite a bit of patching and even added wood to areas that had gone bare, as in front of one of the fireplaces (shown in a photo). In the end, the total price for these additional repairs was very reasonable indeed! Julio and his crew-- Jorge, especially-- are true masters of wood. They are also very obliging and considerate--they moved the bed and bureau for me. They did an exemplary job of re-finishing and restoring what were beautiful floors and stairs when the house was built in the early 1830's. And to think that prior owners had painted the steps and floors black! The photos attached give a good idea of the transformation wrought by these highly professional craftsmen!

Julio and his team are wonderful. We got an email response to our initial request for a quote the very same day and Vickey scheduled an on-site visit with Julio later that week. Julio was on time and very courteous. After examining the floors and taking measurements of all rooms, he provided us with a quote right then and there. The quote was very reasonable and the timeline he provided fit perfectly into our renovation plans, so we signed the contract on the spot. Julio and his team met me at the house the morning of the scheduled start date (a Tuesday). He briefly walked me through the house to explain what he?d be doing and to point out areas of concern (deep scratches and pet stains). All the while, his guys we getting started moving equipment into the house and taping off the area to be refinished. When I came back at the end of the day, much of the house had already been sanded. Surprisingly, there was minimal dust around the house. I left him with keys to the house so he and his team could come and go for the remainder of the job. They worked through the week and the weekend and finished the job on Monday afternoon. I stopped by a couple times throughout the job and was always pleasantly surprised at how clean they kept the jobsite. As for the quality of work, the floors looks amazing! The original floors were top-nailed and had many nail heads popping up. As he explained on his first visit, they countersunk all the nails and applied wood putty (that alone was worth the price!). There were several areas of damage, including major scratches and pet stains. Julio?s team was able to fix them all. Where needed, he flipped boards over or swapped them with a less visible area (like in a closet). We are very happy with the final results and would definitely contract him again.

Everything went great - a pleasure to deal with. I had other companies quote on the job and was told many times that our upstairs original floor was in too bad shape to sand and repair. Pro Floor Sanding, told me they could do it and they did a wonderful job! Work was carried out on schedule (5 days), bad bits of wood have been repaired and it looks like a new flood. They even hit in every nail head and filled over the top. Thanks again!

We have had Pro Floor Sanding refinish oak floors in 3 stages, dividing the work up into chunks so that we had a place into which to move furniture. All of their work has been superior. The floors in this 1952 house were immediately covered with wall-to-wall carpet, and have had several re-dos of carpeting in the 60 years since. Nevertheless, Pro Floor sanding was able to give us the gleaming hardwood we wanted to see, and we got rid of the impossible-to-keep-clean carpeting forever! I very highly recommend Pro floor Sanding and in fact several of our neighbors have had equally positive experiences due to our enthusiastic reviews.

Pro Floors/Julio and his team did an excellent job. Could not be happier with the results. Although not the least expensive of the three quotes that I received, they did a great job, and I would highly recommend them.

Pro Floor Sanding were great. I would hire them in a heartbeat. What had happened is we had a fish tank leak. They had to replace the boards that were damaged and they had to refurnish the rest of the continuous floor. The rest of the continuous floor was the rest of the room where the fish thank was which are our dining room, living room, center hall and two bedrooms. It sounds like a big job but our house is tiny. We have about 600 square feet. The only two rooms they didn’t touch were the kitchen and the bathroom because they have different floors. They did an excellent job.
