Our first appointment was in late March for someone to come to the house to see our kitchen. We had to wait, however, until the end of May to review a design at the showroom which we did on May 30th. My wife and I spent over an hour with the designer at the showroom discussing our needs. She recommended that we consider adapting a room adjoining the kitchen to the plan. So the designer came to us again on June 21st. We met again at the showroom on Tuesday,July 9 when she showed us the revised plan on her laptop. During this hour and one half meeting we were shown the alternative.cabinetry choices, countertops, etc. We told her our preferences and were promised an estimate by the end of the week -- which would have been Friday, July 12. We heard nothing for over two weeks. So on 7/31, we sent her an email message requesting the estimate for the job. No response. So again on Monday, August 12. She replied via email on August 13th when we were told that we would have the estimate by the end of the week. WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY RESPONSE SINCE THEN -- SEVEN WEEKS AGO . We are now up the creek! Finally, by Xmas, we had expected to have our renovated kitchen in place for the extended family that would then descend upon us. We thought that we certainly would have enough time to get our kitchen renovated if we started the process in March. We knew that ours would not be a particularly complex job (perhaps, not complex enough?) as it would require essentially replacing an existing counter unit, floor refinishing, perhaps, adding additional cabinets and a stove exhaust unit. Now, there is no possibility of getting the job done before the end of the year. It is not as if we were shopping around - kicking tires, so to speak. Ferrarini was the first and only design firm we had contacted (we just contacted another one finally last week). We figured that if we were comfortable with them and their estimates were reasonable (we did some internet research in this regard), we would give them the project to implement. We understood that that is where some profit could be gained, not from the $75 they received for the many hours it took visiting with us both at our home and in their showroom and in design time. We fully expected to give them the job. All that it required was for them to send us the cost estimates for the specific alternatives that we discussed and we would have given them the go-ahead. If Ferrarini did not want to work with us, the least they could have done was let us know ASAP so that we could start the process with someone else. There simply is no excuse for such irresponsibility, none! Needless to say, I would not ever deal with this firm again.
Description of Work: I bought an Angie's List coupon from the provider for $75 to visit our home and provide us with a plan for a remodeling of our ktchen. This service was performed in part. We received a recommended layout kitchen but without.specifications of the cabinetry

Response from Ferrarini & Co. Kitchens & Interiors
Hello [member name removed], Allow me to first thank you for purchasing the Coupon Deal from Angie's List and Apologize at the same time for not delivering a fully comprehensive redemption of the coupon. I want to be honest and admit that I (Owner of Ferrarini Kitchen & Bath) did not make the right decision by allowing Angie's List to feature our company as a "Big Deal Coupon". Ferrarini Kitchen & Bath is a design-build company with a high emphasis on customization, personal service, and quality. We are a quality-based company rather than a quantity based company and the Angie's List Coupon Deal catered to the latter. Within days we received Dozens and Dozens of people attempting to redeem a $75.00 coupon for design services. We quickly realized that allowing Angie's List to feature our Company was a managerial mistake. None the less our 3 designers tried our best to honor every coupon while also working with our current clientele base and needless to say it was a challenge which ultimately led to unsatisfied coupon purchasers like yourself. It's somewhat ironic because Angie's List offered the coupon listing to our company in light of our 3 Year "A" Rating & 2012 Super Service Award, but being featured for the "Big Deal" has created our first and only batch of Negative Reviews on Angie's List and Actually any review platform. In addition to our 3 year "A" rating on Angie's List and our 2012 Super Service Award we are 5 Star Rated on Houzz.com with an extensive portfolio, 5 Star Rated on HGTV's Kudzu.com, 5 Star Rated on Google, 2012 Award Recipient and Good Standing Member of the National Kitchen & Bath Asssocation (NKBA), A+ Rated with BBB (Better Business Bureau), and literally have a rolodex of happy lifelong customers. But ultimately I cannot allow my managerial mistake to negate your unsatisfactory experience with my company and therefore I apologize again for your experience and I would like to fully refund you and any other Coupon Purchaser the full amount you paid for the coupon and allow you to keep the drawings free of charge. Please call me and I will send a check right out. Again I sincerely apologize. Thank You
Merry L.

The kitchen designer planned a complete reconfiguration of our kitchen which was for the most part great. However I felt as though the design was somewhat standard. One of our wishes was to not have the dishwasher across from the fridge. While we take responsibility over not reviewing the plans as well as we should, I still feel as though the designer should have addressed the fact that the dishwasher and fridge were across from each other and provided an explanation as to why he thought that would work best. At times they were very responsive. However at other times we would have to call multiple times to get a response and this was during the 6-8 weeks that the project was being done. Also we selected the granite we wanted when we were in the planning stage. When it was time to install the granite it was discovered that the granite we chose was not available in the size we needed. This led to us having to go to 2 granite showrooms and being somewhat rushed to make a selection of an alternative (which, however, we are very happy with). This is somewhat trivial but it shows why I gave a B rating for responsiveness and professionalism. While we were planning our project Donna showed us a picture of one of the kitchens she had done and she commented on the fact that the owner was unwilling to pay for upgraded faceplates and the white faceplates In the picture took a lot away from the kitchen. When they installed the faceplates on our Island they put white faceplates on our very dark wood. It just doesn't make any sense that they would do this. It ended up getting taken care of. We were told we would have to pay for the new faceplates, but never did get charged. Just an unnecessary complication. Stress-free remodeling? Hello! Bottom line, they could have done better, and I hope they take these comments as constructive criticism, not complaints, because they're a class organization and they did a great job. If we do any more remodeling, Ferrarini will certainly be considered the standard that someone else would have to convince us they could do better than, and that will not be easy.

Overall: -After a month of heavy use, the whole family remains thrilled with our new kitchen for it?s absolute beauty, quality, and wonderful functionality. We are actively enjoying it every single day. - The overall process went smoothly, at a good pace, and was pleasant and fun and exciting as each stage was completed - We started, maintained, and leave this project with full respect and admiration for the Design team (Gene, Donna), and the Construction Team (Jordan, Michael) who each delivers expertise and high quality and are passionate, responsive, fair, and easy to work with. Design Phase: - Owner Donna and Designer Gene met with us and listened, advised, and rapidly demonstrated, with ideas and drawings and demonstration of materials in their store, that they understood specifically what we were looking for, and that they had the expertise to deliver. - The design took 2 rounds and multiple meetings and all our ideas, needs were incorporated. Gene has tremendous understanding of how to create functionality, practicality, and harmony together. We are so glad we went for a professional designer. Later, when we wanted to add items (e.g. extra sink, extra under-counter fridge) Gene incorporated them easily. - Cost was a concern; main variables were the costs of the materials and during the design phase we explored several key tradeoffs and landed somewhat better from cost perspective. - Both my husband and I wanted to be highly involved in all aspects of the project; our ideas, questions, comments, need for detail, etc. were welcome and incorporated. - There are so many decisions that need to be made throughout the process. Donna and Gene alternatively lead/advised/accepted with each decision depending on how much help we needed for each. Very collaborative. Here?s an example: Originally I selected a creamy white color cabinet paint; but when I chose the granite (alone), Donna immediately detected that the cabinet color would have to change from a ?yellow-white? to a ?blue/beige white? and she was so right! This little decision took 2 extra weeks and a lot of work for Donna and me to get right, but the final result is perfect and would have looked bad if she had not caught this. Construction phase: - Jordan?s project oversight and Michaels? talent and craftsmanship combined with a strong design made this phase go smoothly overall - Team was very supportive and provided careful demolition of old kitchen so that it could be for reuse by habitat for humanity (They only accept if good condition. - First week was prep of site; Michael discovered several surprise issues when the walls were taken down, but then suggested creative and solid solutions, collaborated with us, and proceeded successfully - We can?t say enough good about Michael, his abilities, his craftsmanship, his design skills, his creativity and solutions, his work ethic, his willingness to work with us, his willingness to go the extra step/hour, and his drive to ensure our satisfaction. We included Michael at the ?opening? dinner with our extended family. - We felt informed and the communication channels stayed open and functioning throughout the project across the team. Gene and Donna remained involved throughout the construction phase. Issues: - Construction time was 1-2 weeks longer than predicted; this was acceptable and due to combined factors under our control, Ferrarini control, and no one?s control. We could have hastened the process but had the time and preferred to let it go for full quality. - Not sure how it works in other projects, but there was a mix of what we purchased directly through Ferrarini, things Ferrarini helped choose and we paid directly, and things we just went out to buy. Sometimes they helped even if we were buying direct (e.g. appliances). But with invoices coming from many directions, and responsibility for delivery mixed, we sometimes got confused ? I just recommend keeping a clear list of what the home owner responsibility is vs. what the contractor will completely manage.
Description of Work: Complete end-to-end kitchen renovation, Understand our needs, ideas quickly. Full kitchen design, layout, and detail, Decision support across every material selection, Careful demolition of old kitchen for reuse by Habitat for Humanity, Full prep of site for new kitchen, Complete construction of new kitchen, Transparent communication throughout construction

My family and I couldn't be happier with the work done for us by Ferrarini Kitchen and Bath Remodeling. Our experience was by far the best we have had with any contractor. Our project was a complete kitchen with additional space added by removing two walls, closing off a small window and adding a Bay windows to provide natural light and a view of our large backyard landscape. I immediately clicked with Gene, the designer, and Donna the owner as soon as we began discussing my objectives and desires. I had never worked with a professional designer before, and I think I will always work with one in the future. Gene and Donna provided unique and innovative suggestions, often leading to changes that significantly improved the kitchen functionally as well as aesthetically. The design process was a lot of fun, exceeded my expectations, and led to a beautiful ?gourmet? kitchen that is a real showcase in our home. The construction phase, although highly intrusive due to the magnitude of the project, was almost enjoyable as well (as much as a kitchen replacement can be)! The contractors, Israel and David, Jr were friendly, helpful in answering questions, responsive to concerns when we had them, and highly skilled in their professions. They engaged me daily to make sure things were satisfactory as they worked, and whenever something was not quite right, or had to move this way or that, they made sure I was informed and on board with any revisions. As the project went on and I could better visualize the end state I added a few changes to the job and they were very accommodating. The process was easy, the team was happy to accommodate, and I cannot say enough about the quality of the workmanship. My neighbors and friends also watched in awe as the ?Ferrarini? transformation took place. I would highly recommend them for any construction job that anyone might have.

We have a large space, but a VERY small kitchen. Knocking down walls to increase the size of our kitchen simply will not work. As such, our next best option is to convert our dining room into a dining friendly kitchen space. Yes I know...an unusual request from the get go and a potentially HUGE project for any new home owner! Add to this some important architectural details that cannot be altered, and we knew, this design consultation would test anybody who took on the project. When we had the opportunity to SEE our new kitchen, through Rachel's incredible 3D design skills, we knew that this project was on the list of priorities. Touring their showroom, you quickly get the sense that Ferrarini's focus is on quality over quantity. I personally appreciate that in anybody doing work in my home. And if you appreciate locally sourced options, Ferrarini works with some of the finest cabinet makers in the region, offering you complete and total flexibility for your custom kitchen. They even suggested that we could visit their granite distributor to personally select a rather large piece we would need for an island This said, it is clear that Ferrarini does not target the property hopper, looking to flip a home for quick profit. You can expect to pay a premium price for the kind of quality and service that Ferrarini offers, but if the project is handled as professionally as our design consultation was, I think it would be worth every penny. Of course their pricing policy (one price, no up-selling) also offers peace of mind and accurate budgeting....both of which should be weighed heavily when considering any home project. One more quick heads up, I bought a one time Angie's List deal to get the design service...and boy did we get a deal! I am guessing future design services will cost a bit more than $75.
Description of Work: Ferrarini sent Rachel, a very talented and professional designer, to our home to discuss the changes we are considering for our kitchen. Rachel took measurements of our room, discussed some of the challenges presented by the current layout, and took in our vision for how the kitchen would be arranged. Some time later, we had the pleasure of meeting Rachel in their Elkins Park showcase where we reviewed a 3D model of our space, multiple drawings of her/our vision for the room, and reviewed the basics options that we should be considering regarding cabinetry, trim levels, materials, etc.

We recently bought an old home in Philadelphia - great house, disaster of a kitchen. So when I saw FERRARINI KITCHEN & BATH Angie's big deal for a "Custom Kitchen with Complete 3D Renderings for You to Keep!" I thought great! What I signed up for and purchased what was advertised as a design package "complete with measurements, floor plan design, cabinet design, and 3-D renderings for you to keep" What I got was a complete rip off. First of all I bought this "big deal" in March. Yes they were good and set up an apt right away but as soon as they arrived they informed me that they use only their products and that I would have to go to their show room in Elkins Park to pick up the designs (now I don't drive and I live in the city so this was a obviously not only going to be big inconvenience but as it wasn't mentioned before I purchased the "big deal" really felt like a bait and switch) Step forward (it's June already) we?ve been playing back and forth as far as my getting the "3-D rendered designs" I've purchased and they are acting like they are doing me a favor by setting up an appointment for me in their showroom. So finally (after a nightmarish trip on Septa, not to mention the expense to get to their showroom) I am shown the so-called designs and what are they? Complete unprofessional garbage - they are not drawn to scale (in other words useless) - and they are certainly not "designed" as it is the same layout that the kitchen already has (to be clear, and the first thing I had told them is the kitchen as it is now is problematic and not very functional) So I'm in their showroom, looking at the cabinets and I'm realizing that they are the same low quality, cheap and light weight that I already have (the ones I'm trying to get rid of.) Let's be honest, when it took 4 months (and the already mentioned bait and switch behavior) I wasn't getting a good feeling about these guys, nor was I really surprised about the lack of quality in their showroom but I still thought "well I've paid for a Angie's list big deal" so I will at least get the "Complete 3D Renderings for You to Keep!" as stated in the deal. But did I get the "Complete 3D Renderings for You to keep!? that I had purchased? No. They actually looked at me like they had no idea what I was talking about. Basically I bought an Angie's big deal and didn't get anything that the deal stated. A complete ripoff. I?d like my money back!

Response from Ferrarini & Co. Kitchens & Interiors
I’ve thought very hard about how I would respond to your review. Being a small business owner I place tremendous weight on my customer’s and in your case “potential” customer’s feedback and I make it a priority to personally respond to any of my customer’s issues, big or small. From the day my son & I opened our doors for business (nearly 8 years ago) we have been dedicated to providing our customers with exceptional design, craftsmanship, and extraordinary customer service. Those simple values are the very reason we are a successful award winning kitchen & Bath Company with a 100% customer Satisfaction rate (for customers that have actually hired us) and we are very proud of it. Even though you did not hire us, I am still completely taken back by your review. I am not sure if we unknowingly offended you and this is you lashing back, but the majority of your review is unsubstantiated. Not only did we fulfill every term of the “Big Deal” agreement but Rachel (our Designer) happily picked you up and dropped you off at the train station to accommodate your current transportation issue. You also forgot to mention that Rachel conducted the initial consultation in the comfort of your home for your convenience. We are sorry that you were inconvenienced by Septa, but unfortunately we have no control of your means of transportation. In regards to professional design, Rachel is a published designer with an extensive amount of “Kitchen & Bath” Design experience, she holds a B.S and a Masters in Interior Design and is Hands-Down one of our most accomplished designers. Addressing your statement about the quality of our products & showroom: please feel free to check the reviews of any of our product lines and you will find that we carry exceptional products. Lastly we our very happy with the design, craftsmanship, diversity, and technological capabilities of our Showroom. We have actually been nominated to present at the 2014 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) to discuss efficient showroom design and the incorporation of technology in smaller showrooms. In closing, we’ve been on Angie’s List (approximately 3 years) and have maintained an “A” rating, countless “Page of Happiness” reviews, and was just awarded the Super Service Award, which is only rewarded to 5% of the contractors on this site. We are also 5 star Rated on HGTV’s Kudzu.com, Houzz.com, and we have continually maintained an “A+” rating with the Better Business Bureua (BBB). In addition, we are Award recipients and good standing members of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA). Your review honestly blindsided us, but fortunately we have spent the last 8 years building a great reputation which ultimately will continue to give potential customers the confidence they need to continue to choose Ferrarini Kitchen & Bath. Good Luck with Your Project!

From the owner to the worker, I would describe them as professional, knowledgable, and skilled. The designer put together a very efficient layout plan for the basement that I still brag about to my friends and family. I was able to turn my basement into a man cave without sacrificing the space for entertainment due to the addition of the bathroom. We must have worked on the details over and over because every week i would see something on tv or even a magazine that i would want to incorporate on the design before it was complete. I must have put them through h*** yet they remain very courteous and attentive to what I needed. Another thing that really stuck with me is how clean and neat the workers were. Everyday after they were done work, I would go to the basement to view the progress and they would have the placed sweeped and all. The price, level of work performed and service was outstanding. They made sure I was completely satisfied with every part of the project. I had no idea how many choices were available to me but they walked me through the whole process. My neighbors are in love with my basement and deck. I noticed a lot of them nosing around and talking to the owner and the workers to get more information. I hope this helps for anyone who is looking to get a new bathroom, kitchen or anything for that matter that you looking to have renovated in your house.
Description of Work: I had my basement completely refinished, new bathroom installed and a deck plus fencing for the backyard. I basically started the renovation of my home from the bottom floor working my way up to the first and second floor eventually. I was so pleased with their work that I plan to use them again for my kitchen and first floor renovation.

Without a doubt, Ferrarini Kitchen and Bath was one of the best choices of contractors we have ever made. They worked with us patiently to help us make the right choices of tile, fixtures, lighting, and paint color, always cognizant of our taste and financial restraints. It was wonderful to have an expert making helpful suggestions. The work was done by an extremely accomplished and competent workman, who dealt creatively with the few challenges that arose. He was meticulous in the work and in the daily cleanup, often staying extra hours in order to be sure to complete the work on time. Subsequent to the completion of the work we refinanced our mortgage. The assessor who came called our ten-year-old kitchen (mostly Home Depot cabinetry) "middle grade," but the new bathroom he called "top tier," even though we were fiscally conservative in the choices we made. We would highly recommend Ferrarini Kitchen and Bath.

MISUNDERSTANDING OF ANGIE’S LIST “BIG DEAL” PROMOTION: Hello [member name removed], I would first like to say that I am truly regretful that you’ve had an negative experience with our company. The "Big Deal" promotion that we signed up with through Angie's List was only for Center City Philadelphia, South Philadelphia, & Parts of Northwest Philadelphia. We kept the traveling distance close to help keep cost down. This was a complete mistake on Angie's List Part that you were even able to purchase the "Big Deal". We have filed a complaint with Angie's List and we we're told by our account manager that they will reimburse you for the design fee and remove this complaint. As you can see we have continually kept a stellar “A” Rating with Angie’s List and was even awarded the “2012 SUPER SERVICE AWARD”. We are extremely dedicated to customer service, so as you can imagine reading your review was disappointing. We have never received anything less than an “A” rating from all of our Angie’s List Clients whom we completed work for over the course of 3 years and a handful of those reviews were nominated for the “Page of Happiness”. I wish you the Best of Luck with your Remodel.

The provider phoned me to schedule and in house appointment to see what was needed. Working with Ferrarini was a great experience. My remodeling job on the guest bathroom was completely unplanned. The 80 year old shower pipe had burst and Ferrarini explained that it would be best to replace all of the old pipes in the bathroom. Replacing the plumbing required that all of the old tile had to be stripped from the floor and walls--which meant the bathroom was stripped down to the studs--which accommodated new wiring. Once i decided what I liked, Donna gave me good recommendations for stores to purchase tile and coordinated all of my purchases. When my vanity and tile were delivered a few weeks before the job was to start Donna sent her son Jordan and a colleague to come to my house and carry the tile from the garage to the house. Donna also gave me some recommendations for companies specializing in custom window shutters. The contractor assigned to my job was Michael. Michael does good work and is very diligent. I am very pleased with how my projects turned out and recommend Ferrarini without reservation. I look forward to working with them again in the future. Please note I indicated N/A on price because I did not interview other contractors--so I have no basis to compare the price charged.
Description of Work: Ferrarini gutted and remodeled a guest bathroom and did some electrical work in the master bathroom. In the guest bathroom, Ferrarini replaced all plumbing, replaced all tile on floors and walls, rewired electrical and installed new lighting fixtures and recessed lighting, along within exhaust fan. They also assembled and installed a new vanity and all bathroom accessories. In the master bathroom Ferrarini installed an exhaust fan and installed a 3-way light switch, and painted the bathroom including trim.
Right off the bat, Ferrarini impressed us. After my initial call, Donna and Matt came out to our house, offered some ideas and really tried to get a feel for what we wanted. Although they did not have the lowest price of the several contractors we interviewed, they were the only ones that really made the effort to follow-up with us. When it came down to actually picking our materials (for us the most daunting task) they made the process so much easier mainly due to the fact that they have a new showroom that allowed us to pick all of our materials in a couple of hours instead of days or weeks. They took our taste into account while also offering their own suggestions, which we appreciated. In addition, they made a few recommendations on "upgrades" that gave us the best "bang for our buck" Once the project had started, our main contractor, Mark, showed up every day (including a couple of Saturday's) until the job was finished. Within a day he had the entire kitchen gutted and he then started the process of completely building from scratch our new kitchen. After the end of every day he thoroughly cleaned up his work area and made sure to keep us abreast of any issues. He was a complete professional who worked tirelessly to completely transform our once tired, worn out space to a kitchen that has now become the envy of our friends and family. We appreciated the fact that the Ferrarini team was very detail-oriented. We never felt the need to second-guess what was being performed. Our project manager, Jordan, updated us on a weekly basis as to the progress taking place and addressed any questions or concerns, promptly. The few minor issues that did crop up (which were completely understandable given the scope of the job) were rectified immediately. Overall, our experience with Donna and the team at Ferrarini was an A+. The kitchen turned out better than we could have imagined! We highly recommend this company for any kitchen and bathroom remodeling needs you might have.
Description of Work: Complete kitchen remodel including new cabinets, flooring (in dining room as well), countertops, backsplash, sink, and lighting. Also, installed all new appliances and painted.

The process was better than I could ever expect. I had ideas of what I wanted to do, but it wasn't until I met with Donna, the designer, that I was able to bring everything together. Donna was an absolute blessing, especially for a first time remodeler. She listened to my wants, needs and desires and helped me design a kitchen that was not only functional but also a true delight to work in. I appreciated that she was willing to show me how to best spend my money with respect to materials and appliances and was always mindful to select products that were durable and of good quality, but not so expensive that my kitchen would turn out to be more expensive than my property was worth. She helped with design, function, color schemes, and appliance and material selection. Most contractors I interviewed were willing to do whatever I wanted at whatever cost, but Donna truly advised me to make decisions in my best interest. After meeting with Donna, the project construction was turned over to her sons, Jordan the project manager, and Matthew the job coordinator. I was always able to contact Donna, Matthew and Jordan with any questions and concerns and they always kept me informed every step of the way. Michael, who actually did the work, was equally professional and respectful. Once the project was finished and Donna saw the pictures, she wasn't happy with the color of the faceplates on the outlets and switches and had her son come and replace them with a different color! I was happy with the original, but once I saw the new ones, I couldn't believe how much nicer they looked!!!! Attention to detail is a priority of theirs! Ferrarini Kitchen and Bath is truly a reputable designer/contractor that values both their family name and reputation. I would have no qualms using them again and have already recommended them to family and friends.
Description of Work: I had my galley kitchen completely gutted and remodeled. New window, floor, electrical rewiring, a wall cut to a half wall, and new plumbing for a garbage disposal, dishwasher and refrigerator with an ice maker.
FANTASTIC! The crew from Ferrarini was very professional. I never saw a group work so hard. The guys never took breaks and only stopped aprox. 20 minutes/day for lunch. It was a hot summer and they were stuck in the heat upstairs painstakingly placing the tile. Their work was superb. Ferrarini is a family business and it shows because everyone works together.I started by meeting the designer Donna who helped me figure out what I needed. I am disabled and had some special needs for the bathroom. She worked with me to come up with a beautiful plan that didn't look cold or clinical. Then I met with her sons to discuss payment, length of project etc. On the first day the crew came in, led by Israel ( who was easy to talk to and professional). They took time to tape paper down on all the floors so as to protect them. They also covered all the furniture. Every night when they finished they thoroughly cleaned up. They met all the 3 P's: punctual, polite and professional. The job would have taken 4 weeks, but there were some problems with deliveries on the tub and vanity that slowed them down so it lasted a couple weeks longer. The price may seem a bit high, but honestly, for what I got, it was a steal. It's so hard to find workers who know what they are doing and do it well. This bathroom will last the life of this home. I know I won't have any issues with it. They did it right. I still can't believe I have a bathroom this beautiful that meets all my needs. I feel so blessed. Thank you Donna and the gang at Ferrarini!
Description of Work: Master bath was completed gutted. Replaced plumbing, put in new flooring, new shower and bench, put vapor barrier in shower, replaced tub, added niches in walls, grab bars, new vanity, sinks, lighting, mirrors, heated flooring and 48" high subway tile on walls around room. Also put in new trim work around window and painted entire room. This job was very labor intensive due to all the tile work.

I contacted Donna through Angie's List. I was moving from the midwest and needed someone to be a general contractor, designer, buyer and essentially stand in for me because I knew I wouldn't be around while the project was being done. My plan was to find someone I trusted prior to purchasing my new home, then have that person do the work after settlement and prior to our moving in. I had three to four weeks for the work to be done. I had one opportunity to bring contractors into the house to provide an estimate after viewing the space. Unfortunately, Donna was in a car accident that morning and couldn't be at the house for the estimate. The other two did arrive and I was not satisfied with either contractor (both male) who came. One never even followed up with an estimate. I called Donna a week later and asked her to work with me. We had great rapport over the phone and unlike either male contractor I had met, she went right to work from our first conversation by offering ideas, websites to look at to get ideas and ways should could help me make my remodel work while being 700 miles away. The day after we bought the house, she came with samples of tile and finishes to get started immediately. She brought her design team and they got to work right away. By this point, Donna and I had spoken so many times on the phone, hiring her officially was a formality. I never felt anyone from her side was trying to sell me anything. They were always working with me to make our project work. I felt so comfortable with her and her team that I told her to just make whatever decision she needed to and that she felt was best. Her vision and work ethic were superior and I trusted her to make the right choice no matter what the situation. She took my project to heart and treated it like she was doing her own bathroom. She would be up late at night looking for whatever piece I needed and would email me choices. We spent alot of time finding just the right bathtub and had it not been for Donna, I would not have the gorgeous stand alone bathtub I do now. She also brainstormed to find a solution to a small space that would have otherwise been empty behind the tub. The crew that did the work were extremely professional, friendly and trustworthy. They are also non-smokers, which was a huge deal for me. Even though I was not going to be in the house, I did not want the smoke smell lingering in my home. There is something to be said of hiring a woman to do this sort of work. Donna is a perfectionist and will not let even the smallest issue go if it is not right. We moved a towel bar three times because it was not in the correct position.Overall, my experience with Donna and her team was fantastic. Nothing is ever perfect, but working with people who truly want things to be done right overcomes any problems along the way. Oh and did I mention they are nice too?! Great to work with and I would highly recommend them.

The initial meeting with Donna Parisse and her son Mathew, took place early March 2012. During this meeting, we discussed the project design and cost. Donna provided many design ideas and options. Her ideas were creative and responded to the essential needs of the kitchen. After the initial meeting, the floor plan was emailed followed by the detailed proposal. The proposal was very clear in describing the demolition process, general requirements, products, and budget allowances. We agreed to begin the kitchen renovation during the end of June. Before the renovation started, I met with Donna often to discuss the selection of cabinets, backsplash, granite, and flooring. I really felt overwhelmed with the selection process. I became anxious and started contacting Donna expressing my concerns. Donna was very encouraging and supportive providing excellent customer service. Donna's team of workers, Ronnie, Israel, and June, were always punctual, professional, and trustworthy. They were very considerate of my schedule and did everything possible to accommodate my needs. During the overall job, there was an attention to every detail of the kitchen make-over. I was very pleased with the outcome of their work. Overall, I was pleased with Donna's continual contact with the job during the process. I would not hesitate to recommend or use Ferrarini Kitchens and Baths again.
Description of Work: The initial part of the job entailed the demo work of the kitchen . This involved the removal of the soffit, ceramic floor, cabinetry, countertops, and sink and faucet. Kitchen cabinets, floor, backsplash, sink, etc., were all replaced by Ferranini Kitchens and Baths.

The overall experience with Ferrarini was excellent. Every individual with whom I met and worked with on this project was pleasant, professional and punctual. Donna and I met to discuss the project in order for her to provide an estimate, and she was extremely knowledgeable by providing important information regarding style, design, layout, colors and function. Israel and David did most of the work on the kitchen. They arrived on time every day, and stayed until the day's work was completed. Communications with the team was great in that they went over everything that was to be accomplished each day. Donna kept in touch with me on a daily basis in order to ensure that everything was moving along and that I was pleased with the work as it progressed. I am thrilled with our kitchen and am grateful to have had such pleasant and professional company to have worked with, as a kitchen remodel is a stressful experience. I would not hesitate to hire Ferrarini again for other projects.

It was great working with Donna, she provides great customer service. She listened to my concerns and was very responsive to my calls and messages. Her ideas and suggestions greatly improved the original designs for my kitchen. Because of budgetary constraints, I, ultimately, decided not to use their services but would definitely recommend to others.
Description of Work: I needed a complete kitchen, pantry renovation in my home and a complete kitchen, bathroom renovation and general repair work done in a rental unit I own. I contacted Ferrarini's for a proposal and a because of my kitchen's design challenges had contracted for a computerized design plan.
THE DECISION- After viewing many contractors & remodeling companies I finally chose Ferrarini Home Remodeling. I really liked the idea of working with a woman on the design aspect of the job. Let me tell you it was the easiest and best decision I could ever have made. After our first interview and design consultation I decided to go with the Design Essentials Package (it was well worth the money) and if you decide to go with Ferraini they return 50% of that cost back to you and if you decide not to, it’s still yours to keep to use at any time with whomever you choose. THE INTERVIEW- While Donna's assistant Joe was taking the first basic measurements Donna interviewed me with a few simple questions and then asked about my design ideas and how much I wanted to invest and what style I preferred. Although I basically knew what I had in mind I was very confused and overwhelmed shopping around and looking at thousands of samples that were out there. That's where Donna's expertise came into action. After our first interview we had 1/2 the plan in motion and with just a few follow ups boom, boom, boom Donna hit the nail on the head every time! She made my decision making very easy and knew exactly what I wanted. She even helped steer me in other directions I would have never even considered, which resulted in the whole job coming together just beautifully! I am very happy and my new kitchen is more than I ever expected it to be. THE JOB- 10'x10.5" Kitchen Full demolition and full remodel consisting of complete removal of existing cabinetry, closing up one window, replacing another window with glass block, to the ceiling cabinets all the way around the kitchen including under cabinet lighting, and handmade crown molding, full ceramic back splash with picture frame design above cook-top, granite countertops and window sill, full ceramic tile flooring through to Dining room area, painting of remaining wall and ceiling, and installing all my appliances (which I purchased separately) refrigerator including waterline for ice maker, dishwasher, ceramic glass cook top, oven, above counter microwave, glass hood, all new electrical outlets including new recess lighting, ceiling and over the sink pendulum lights, all plumbing including partial radiator removal. Also, 10.5"x12" Dining room, replaced small window with glass block, ceramic flooring running from kitchen to dining room, painting of 2 walls and ceiling, moved and installed dining room light, partial removal of radiator, and the best part, replacing my old ugly breakfront with a beautiful built in buffet consisting of 12' wall to wall matching cabinets with full granite countertop and granite window sill, which I cant wait to use for those big holiday dinners! THE COST- Total Final Cost with all additions after first proposal and 50%refund from the design concept, the final cost was $32,700.00 which came right in the ball park of what we wanted to spend and what we expected to spend. (Between $30K-$35K) THE CREW- Led by Israel was impeccable! They put a full day’s work in every time they were here. They were meticulous in every aspect from setting up, to following the details of the planned project to the finish including cleaning up. I loved the fact that Israel kept me informed every step along the way, telling me what they expected to accomplish each day, and informing me on any problem they ran into and how they planned to resolve any issue that came up, and they did just that! They were very courteous as well as respectful and I was very comfortable having them in my home. My neighbor even stopped me to compliment them on how considerate and kind they were to her about parking near & around her car and property. (parking in south philly is not the easiest). RECOMMENDATION- With Donna's foresight and design experience, Joe's knowledge and hard work on the heating and radiator work, and Israel along with his crew's skills and craftsmanship I could not have chosen a better company! I waited 16 years to afford to do this remodel, and the end result was well worth the wait! I am very pleased and happy with my new kitchen. I would definitely recommend Ferrarini's Home Remodeling to any one looking for great work at a reasonable price. And I am looking forward to having them back to remodel my bathroom in the near future.

Donna came with her team to do the initial evaluation and provided a detailed estimate and proposal. I really liked her design ideas and her references checked out very well - her customers love her. I would probably have worked with Ferrarini except that my budget is extremely tight and I ultimately chose another contractor that gravitates towards lower-end fixtures. Her prices, however, were still very competitive and definitely lower than other contractors that proposed to use that level of materials. I wish I had the money to have been able to go with Donna and her team, but I just don't.

I didn't think they had the depth of knowledge to renovate my kitchen. It was not a comprehensive estimate. They seemed mostly interested in selling new cabinets. Their estimate came in ridiculously low so I knew they didn't understand the scope of the work.

Response from Ferrarini & Co. Kitchens & Interiors
First I would just like to thank you for your initial interest in Ferrarini, it is unfortunate that you did not choose our company to do your small kitchen remodel. We were completely shocked when we saw your negative report. I am sincerely sorry that you feel this way, however we are having a very hard time understanding the basis of your complaint. Ferrarini has over 75 years of combined experience, an A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau, 5 Star Rating with HGTV, and 100% Satisfaction rate from our customers. We have Certified Designers and Construction Mangers that are very knowledgeable and well trained in the subject field. I was also having a hard time understanding why you felt that our estimate was “non-comprehensive”. We gave you a FREE proposal with (2) different options accompanied with (2) design sketches at no charge. Our estimate encompassed: Preparation, Demolition, Framing, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Drywall, Flooring, Tile & Stone, Cabinets, Finish Carpentry, Painting & Finishing, & Appliances. These items were all categorized with a unit measure and quantity. In regards to being “mostly interested in selling cabinets” we are actually one of the few contractors that do not charge a “mark-up” on any of our materials; we do not make a dime on cabinetry. Over the years we just found that our customers really like seeing cabinetry samples at the initial consultation, hence the reason we brought cabinetry samples to your house. Finally in terms of pricing, we are a small family owned company that has been built on “word of mouth”. We do not spend thousands of dollars on marketing campaigns like some of the larger companies; we just rely on our work and customer service to advertise itself. We have completed plenty of high-end kitchens and bathrooms for reasonable prices without sacrificing an ounce of quality and we are very proud of it. We are definitely not the cheapest nor the most expensive; I like to think we fall somewhere in between. Ultimately we felt we offered you a great initial consultation: we showed up on time in full Ferrarini Apparel with samples and smiles; we provided you with(2) different options along with (2) hand sketch drawings to illustrate our vision, and we did this all with a very positive attitude and for FREE. We are regretful that you did not choose our company to perform your work, but we did put forth 100% effort. We wish you the Best of Luck with your Remodel. Sincerely, Donna
Donna was a great asset because I had unusual shapes/spaces and she worked with me to come up with ways to resolve all the issues that arose during the project. The most impressive thing was that they dealt with all my quirky OCD issues (yes, I did check the grout between every tile...) by not giving me a new estimate, but rather with taking care of each and every item (yes, I did leave a written list of things to be 'fixed' each day like making sure the power outlet was level). In fact, they took care when setting up and departing to make sure the house was as clean (if not cleaner) than I had left it. They completely cleaned up after themselves including vacuuming the rug (which they had covered with plastic!) before departing. I am considering a large kitchen/dining room remodel next year and they've earned my trust to take on that job as well. The only reason they were rated 'B' for price was solely because they were not the cheapest of the estimates I received (they were, in fact, the highest by a bit), but I chose them because of the trust I felt in working with Donna. Through the job I learned that it was worth the little bit extra to get a high quality job. The bathroom is just beautiful and is my new favorite room in the house.
Description of Work: Ferrarini Remodeling did a complete bathroom remodel on my main, but small, bathroom. Included was everything except the light fixture over the vanity. The price included demo (including removal of debris), new tub, toilet, fixtures, vanity, floor tile, tile to ceiling in shower, glass mosaic tile accents, shelves, medicine cabinet, addition of 2 lights in the shower area, addition of baseboard, new entry door, painting, and the expertise of Donna (owner) and her team.

Overall it was a breeze. I was very paranoid and fearful about hiring a contractor after hearing so many horror stories from friends and co-workers. My house still hold its historical integrity, and the kitchen was the first major alteration, so I was really worried that I would not find a local contractor to take on my project, but Ferrarini came in and worked through the project with me. There were a few historical elements in my kitchen that I did not want to lose, surprisingly Donna and the crew were very understanding and went out there way not only to preserve my windows and window sill, but they made them look 10x better. Donna gave me such great ideas to really utilize my space without compromising the historical value. Once the construction started they were really efficient and quick. We did run into a few speed bumps with the delivery of the appliances, but Ferrarini was very proactive and worked with me until the kitchen was 100% complete. When it was all completed I was just amazed at the huge difference from what my kitchen looked liked before and after. Now my family and I spend most of our time hanging out in the kitchen.
Description of Work: The Ferrarini team turned my outdated kitchen into a unique stylish kitchen that I can really call my own. Everything had to go. Ferrarini transformed my entire kitchen: New solid wood cabinetry, granite counter-tops, Mosaic tile backs-plash, Staggered ceramic floor tile, recess lighting, under-cabinet lighting, re-finished my window trim, & renovated my laundry room.
