Description of Work: Called Mitchell Plumbing on a Sunday for a bad circulation pump on my furnace boiler. They charged $219 for the call. Replaced the pump and charged me $1,089 for the repair. Thinking that it was an expensive pump I paid the charges. Next day found out the pump co st $79. The work took an hour for them to complete-10 minutes were spent on a personal call and the pump had to be reinstalled after it was incorrectly installed the first time. Asked for a partial refund but was refused. Asked for an itemized invoice-again they refused. Understand that charges will be higher on a weekend but $1,000 for a one hour job is crazy. They stated that they "believe that the charges are reasonable given that we have very high overhead costs." Stay away from these people unless you believe that $1,000 for an hours work is reasonable???? If you do-let me come work for you!!

Description of Work: Replaced our water tank through Home Depot. Everything went well, the installer was very thorough and pleasant. Only one small issue, they had a couple of additional small charges that we think should have been part of the install charge quoted. But not a big issue, we would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I was assured by the receptionist that the plumber would be out to my house and work on the job that Monday. When he got there, he had no idea of what the job entailed, then sat in his truck waiting for his boss to call him back. He then told me that he could not work on it that day, but would be back tomorrow. He said the receptionist is an answering service and they are not connected with the company. He then made me sign a paper quoting the worst care scenario for the job. The next day, he came with another worker to dig the hole to the pipe. While one dug, the other smoked and played games on his cell phone. Ended up that the job was not as extensive as expected, but the price didn't come down by much. Not worth the money.

 + -1 moreHe first ran some tests, then installed the new fuse, then tested the old thermostat which was not working. He then replaced the old thermostat with a new one and it still was not working. He then admitted that he had mistakenly incorrectly connected wires in the unit in the basement during the test phase. After this was undone the new thermostat was working. He could give me no explanation of why he was sure the old thermostat was not working given that he had never tested it with the new fuse and the wires connected correctly. The factory package for the new thermostat said the package included two batteries. However, he installed the thermostat without batteries and didn't leave them with me either. The installer was overall grumpy. Needless to say, given the circumstances I will look elsewhere for yearly service on heat, air-conditioning, and plumbing and will share my experiences with this local company with my neighbors.
Description of Work: Replaced a thermostat and a fuse at a completely unreasonable cost. The identical thermostat could be found online for under $100. That means they charged $285 for labor for 1.25 hours of work (including time to undo a mistake the installer made).

They miss diagnosed the problem, and the electrician felt there was just a lose connection. I tired to call the owner about 5 missing circuit brakes and he failed to return my calls.
