Sure-Fix Remodeling

This is the first time I used a contractor for major work in my home. I feel this inexperience created some of the problems and miscommunications that developed. The meeting with the owner went very well. We spent about 2 hours discussing what needed to be done. The work was to start on Oct. 8 and would take longer than a week. I recieved a call the morning of the 8th that they had to finish up the previous job and would not start until the next day.(I feel the call should have come the night before.) Two workmen arrived the next morning and began working on the flooring and trim in the bedrooms. That was done by early afternoon. The powder room then had all of the old stuff removed. The owner arrived and went over the powder room with the workers and a list of materials needed for the job was developed. One worker left to get the materials and the owner left. The worker still here completed the demolition and the second worker arrive with the materials. The plaster wall was repaired and all workers were gone around 5:30.  The second day was completion of the plaster repair and installation of the tile floor. It went very quickly and when the worker left around 6 pm the floor was done and grouted. Henry(owner) came by again and helped with clean up of the powder room and porch area. The next day one worker arrive around 7:30 and installed the wainscoating and exhaust fan. He then primed the walls. The third day was two workers for part of the day. The vanity, valves, sink, faucet,and the toilet were done by the end of the day. Things moved so quickly that the tile floor did not get sealed. The fourth day(last day) was hanging the 3 doors, the kitchen faucet, the exhaust piping and some trim work. All of the work was completed in 4 days. The quality of the work done is good. The speed of the work caused the tile floor not to get sealed. I had a good powder room in 4 days. Two problems developed(not sealing the tile)  and (finish coat painting of walls)  I did not realize the tile I purchased and grout they purchased needed sealed. I feel the contractor/workers  should have talked to me and made sure that it got done before everything was installed. I assumed that painting means primed and finish coats. The last item is the owner has not contacted me about my opinions of the job. I also admit that I have not complained to him about the problems. Why not complain. I will use him again and all of these items can be worked out at that time. The process was fast, quality of work was good and I learned a lot. Over all it was a good experience.

The bare room needed to be drywalled, a wall taken down, new walls built; A bar was constructed, ceramic tile was placed on the floor in the bar area and the wine room area, and closet. Stone work was done on the wall, and the front of the bar area, in addition to the wine room. Excellent job, electrical work done, hung three large lighted movie poster boxes, lights were installed behind a large stained glass window, cabinets were installed, backsplash glass-tiled, granite countertops behind bar and on bar, excellent painting (knocked down plaster) and all other painting, trim, installed new doorway, installed on the wall TV and all other wall decor. I could go on forever, these guys are amazing. They work until they are finished, no job is left undone; clean up afterwards, and put up with me....just kidding.

This project exceeded my expectations in every way possible. I had several contractors bid this job and Sure-Fix came in as the lowest bid. In the past, I have not gone with the lowest bid, believing that I would receive better service if I paid a bit more. I learned the hard way (from my last 2 projects) that that paying more does not guarantee better service. Henry has a no-nonsense approach, gave us a quote for labor-only with the understanding that we would pay for the materials. I was worried about this plan at first because I had no idea what the materials would cost, but I can tell you now that we are done (the guys just finished up today) that we got the best possible deal. Whenever Henry was eligible for a discount or had coupon to use, he passed the savings directly on to us. My previous contractors were always looking for ways to increase the bill and increase their profit, but Henry and Tony were genuinely concerned with saving us money and making us happy. To me, the true test of a contractor is in the way they handle the situation when something doesn't go as planned. We did have a couple of glitches when the guys removed the toilet we were planning to keep (the base cracked so it couldn't be reused) and when one of the trucks got stuck in the mud and left some deep pits in our side lawn but this is where they impressed me the most; Sure-Fix replaced the toilet and filled and sodded the lawn and did not charge me anything extra to do that. The workers were friendly, professional and always polite and respectful, the bathroom turned out beautifully and I plan to recommend Sure-Fix to all of my friends.

Henry and his crew were the best.  Top notch service, which is nearly impossible to find these days.  No gliches with Sure-Fix, they did what they said they would do and when they said they would do it.

 It was apparent that they knew what needed to be done and gave a very accurate estimate for their services. They arrived at the scheduled time and were ready to start work immediately. They were very friendly and we were very pleased with the outcome of their work. They cleaned up the work area and also helped with moving the furniture. They kept me informed of their progress during the project and explained what they were working on. It was above and beyond what was expected. I would highly recommend them and I will definitely use their services in the future as needed.

We moved into our house on a Friday and by Monday, Henry had come to talk to us about our goals for our kitchen and bathroom.  We had found his name through Angie's list.  In discussing the kitchen and bathroom plan we told Henry that we would be hiring Painters too.  He told us that he could do that too!  We immediately liked Henry and his portfolio and hired him on the spot for Kitchen Reno, Master bath Reno and painting of entire interior house, about 3000 sqft.  We were thrilled with his professionalism and that of his crew....their early start every day and their set up and clean up.  My husband has painted houses and is very fussy.  He was completely satisfied with their workmanship!  I had gone through a kitchen reno just one year before that took 3 months.  Henry and his crew demolished and renovated our kitchen and bath is approximately 3 week, right on his unbelievable timeline.  Henry's design ideas came to fruition and it turned out beautiful!  He is very present each day and inspects the work every day at the finish. Tony was on the job everyday and couldn't have been better! They became a friend to our dog and a friend to us!  We couldn't have been more satisfied!

I decided to give Sure-Fix a try based on all the other great reviews here. Henry, the owner, came to give me an estimate exactly when he said he would. I told him I had already saw the door and storm door I liked at Home Depot. Henry's estimate was very fair and was only for his labor. This was very refreshing dealing with a contractor in this fashion because I like to know exactly what everything costs. Henry and his associate, John, showed up to do the work when he said they would. Henry had to go on another project so John did the install. (Henry did check on the work). John did an outstanding job and obviously takes a lot of pride in his work. It shows in the little details, such as trim moulding and caulking all joints. I've seen the work other installers do (usually from the big box stores like HD and Lowes) and they're not even close on par with this company. Another thing I noticed when the door was already finished was that there was a brand new doorbell switch installed (something i forgot about). I found out from my wife, who was home for the duration of the job, that John went to the store and bought the doorbell switch with his own money! Henry did not take payment until I confirmed with him that I was satisfied with the job. Not only am I satisfied, I will likely hire Sure-Fix to do my kitchen remodel based on this experience alone.

I would use them again in the future.

They were prompt and they seemed to be pretty competent.  The job turned out pretty well.  There were a couple things I wasn’t satisfied with but it wasn’t anything major.  I would consider using him in the future.

Henry and his 6 man team arrived on time.  From the minute they arrived, they were very professional and got to work immediately.  They all worked very hard the entire day, at times unsupervised by Henry. Henry had to leave to purchase a few small items I hadn't purchased.  The team was very friendly and I never felt uneasy about having 7 men working in my home.  The following day, a 3 man team came to complete the job.  Henry double checked his team's work throughout the job to make sure there were no issues with any of their work. 

The quote that Henry provided was accurate and the job was completed exactly to my expectations.

My family has been in the construction business and I can confidently say that he and his staff are a very hard working and dependable team.  I would highly recommend Sure-Fix Remodeling for any small or large job.  I will be using them again for any home projects in the future.  Hat's off to a job well done!!!

It was a pleasure to work with Henry and his crew. We wanted to add 48" of new cabinets and a radiator enclosure. I came up with the basic idea, we discussed it, and came up with a workable plan that suited my wife and I. It took 1 day for the installation. The finish of the cabinetry almost matches the finish of the older cabinets. Several of our neighbors and friends liked the new cabinetry. I would definitely recommend Sure-Fix to my neighbors and friends. Keep up the good work.

We gave Henry (Sure-Fix Remodeling) a mission impossible.  We were having Henry remodel our recently purchased house. With less than one week before our moving date, we decided to have our basement finished. The basement had 4 small bedrooms and a drop down ceiling which had to be removed and made into one large room with a closed ceiling and recessed lighting. We told Henry our ideas and he said he could make it happen in time for our moving date. We were little concerned that he could not finish in time. But he reassured us. Henry went over the ideas for the walls, ceiling and floor. We went with tile for the floor, which was no small job with about 1,000 sq ft. The very next day the basement was gutted and the work was started on finishing the basement. Henry was very helpful in adding anything we wanted such as shelves, in wall TV mount and window shades. Truth to his word, he completed on time and the workmanship was excellent. We’d like to give a special thanks to Tony and Tim who are part of Henry’s work crew. They were very professional and helpful. We asked them to do minor repairs that were not part of the basement job. And they did it without hesitation. If you are thinking about finishing your basement, we highly recommend you call Henry.

We had a semi-finished basement upon purchasing our new home and we also had some rooms and accent walls we wanted painted.
We gave Henry a very tight schedule to our move-in date with 12 days for completion of the entire project.
The first day they came in like a whirlwind of activity and got all the painting done.
Then they started on the basement which was inclusive of drop ceilings, recessed lighting, sanding, painting, carpeting etc..
As we continued to move things in day by day, we found little things in the house that needed to be addressed, like the ceiling fans had been wired improperly.  Henry had an electrician in to fix the problem quickly.  They even installed new motion sensor lights in our backyard.  Far above and beyond!!
Ready in time for our move in date the basement looked fabulous!  The perfect "man-cave".
I think perhaps the thing I liked most about our mini-remodeling for our move was the ramp that they built for our elderly dog to get back and forth to the backyard.  Now without steps -- she can easily access the backyard and she goes out and PLAYS! 
Since our initial meeting, we have called on Henry again for other things.

Calling Sure Fix was the best decision we could have made. From our first meeting with Henry we could feel his energy and enthusiasm. He treats your project as if he is doing his own home and was very patient working with females who changed their minds more than once on tiles, trim etc. Henry met us at the supply store and was extremely educated in what we needed to have the project completed from start to finish. 
The contractor who originally built the house must have been on the sauce as all my walls are crooked and had to be restructered so they were straight for the shower. They also had to fix the duct work that vented the moisture to the outside as the previous contractor had destroyed it and never fixed it allowing moisture into the crawlspace.
Henry's crew were extremely knowlegable and worked long hard hours to complete my bathroom in the short time I needed it done.

After previously having a contractor from h***....it was wonderful to have Sure Fix come in, do the job and do it right. It is great to know there are still people out there who believe in customer service and making the customer happy.

I know that here everyone wants to give glowing reports of their work done.  Sorry all....you cant even come close to the work, friendliness, caring and overall professionalism I experienced.  Henry...wow what a great guy....very very friendly, knowledgeable, knows where money does not need to be spent, gives outstanding input.  You can tell right away Henry knows building construction, as he pointed out less then subpart construction of the original building and the short cuts that were made on the construction of my house.  I am not the original owner and it was obvious that this would have been considered a quick build.  Henry stands by his work and i was surprised when he said " you have a problem with anything we have done for the next 5 years, you just call me and I will fix it".
I will NEVER use another contractor for any of my repairs.  We are considering a bathroom replacement at my rental and he has already given me a bit that surprised me expecting twice what his bid was.  His crews were very friendly and worked their butts off.   Funny, they brought a microwave to heat their lunches which iI found rather funny.  Tells me they are there to work and not interfere with the day to day going ons of the house.  At the end of every work day the cleaned up and bagged all waist.  When I went to Home Depot for the purchase of supplies, Henry was right there and even helped me save another 10% on those supplies.   He helped me return unused supplies to Home Depot.   To me, Sure Fix Is an easy recommendation. your going to have problems finding a better, caring or proffessional repair company.

I had a good experience with him and will use him again.

When  I first called the this company, I had a question:  Could Sure Fix do the work of repainting two rooms, replacing the moldings, and hanging an inside door by the end of the following week?  (We were getting surprise guests from overseas and had earlier started working on these two bedrooms which now had to be finished--pronto.) Henry, who is wonderful, told me that he was just finishing up a job and he was sure that they would be able to do it before starting their next job.  I was amazed.  I had already called two other businesses and they just about laughed!

This company is superb.  I cannot speak highly enough of them.  When it came time to do the painting, when the wallpaper on one of the walls was removed, it turned out that it was covering a damage that could not be painted over, so Henry and the crew had to replace the drywall. This was in addition to the work I had requested by the deadline.  He said they still could get the job done in the allotted time.

Henry went with us to the paint store to pick out the colors and buy the paint, and offered excellent suggestions about the colors we were choosing.  When the drywall needed to be secured, he took care of purchasing that, too.

His crew was so professional:  polite, friendly, careful, and punctual.  It was amazing--they all worked very hard and seemed not to even converse with one another when it wasn't about the work they were doing.  Henry explained to me that it was his policy:  work, not talk and that his crew always obliged.

Henry is so amazing.  He is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, eager, engaging, and willing.  We are going to have a deck put on the house next summer, and we are going to ask Henry and Sure Fix to do that.  He already spent the time giving us the estimate when he did this work for us. 

This whole company is outstanding.

I had been looking for a contractor to remodel two bathrooms in our forty year old home since August. Unfortunately, either no one called back or the estimates were ridiculous. I found Henry on Angies list and asked my husband to give him a call. That very afternoon when I came home for lunch he was there!  Henry brought a photo album of his work with the completed work products and they were beautiful.The estimate was fair and reasonable so I knew he was my man!  I like the idea that I had control over buying the products to be used in my bathrooms. This way I was able to control the cost and quality. Needless to say the bathroom are amazing. Henry's and his staff were very professional and very neat. The workmanship is top quality and Henry made sure we were completely satisfied. I will definitely keep Henry's number for any future projects.
