Excellent from the initial phone call. The owner Henry is very easy to work with and very knowledgable. I explained that I wanted the railings switched out and Henry took the time to lay out the pattern with me considering details that I honestly never thought about. I'm a very detailed person too, but he does remodeling so often that he immediately saw the potential flaws and suggested what ended up looking fantastic. The second hire was to create an entertainment center out of this awkward closet type space in my family room. It looks great. Henry's prices are the best I found, but the best part is the work is good quality! The guys put drop cloths down every day. They cleaned up every day and never left any mess overnight. They were polite and professional. On time! I was very impressed with the service both times. Even my husband commented on how nice the work looked. Then he also mentioned how I did not look stressed at all during the process. He's right! I actually enjoyed Henry's crews completing my projects! I don't think I can say that about any other contractor that we have ever hired.

Positive aspects: Staff was personable and hard-working; they made suggestions to help with remodeling ideas. Henry was flexible with scheduling to accommodate another contractor involved with the project. He also was patient in delaying the completion of project while we waited for a faucet to arrive that was 2 months late; he honored certificate even tho delay pushed completion past date listed. He was very accessible by phone and answered immediately or in short amount of time. There were a few details of work done that my husband wanted done differently for his satisfaction; they made accommodation to his wishes. His pricing on additional work was very reasonable. Aspects that could improve: Some clean-up issues--Although some cloths were laid on floors to protect from dirt in some areas, others were not protected adequately and resulted in construction materials getting on floors, baseboard, cabinets, etc. which I needed to clean later. A couple times when return date was indefinite, they forgot to call and let me know what day they were coming and just showed up. It worked out OK, but advance notice would have been nice so I was prepared on my end. We requested additional estimate of extra projects we wanted done: Installation of ceiling fan/light and replacement of fan/light/heater in master bedroom bathroom. We accepted his estimate ($400. for both). The ceiling fan was done well, even tho there were some challenges. The fan/light/heater they had difficulty with. The initial staff could not complete; another staff member looked at it later and he was not able to get it working either. 9/25 Henry came back with someone who had added expertise in electricity. He worked on it and left. When we tried it out, the lights & fan worked but there was no heat. I called immediately and was told arrangement would be made to come back and check out. After a couple weeks I heard nothing so I emailed on 10/10/13 and requested date for job to be completed. No one has contacted me yet (1/4/14).
Description of Work: For our certificate of 40 hours worth of labor for $1499., they did remodeling of powder room including strip wallpaper, prime walls, install tile floor, replace toilet, vanity top, faucet, towel rack, tp holder, baseboard, heat duct, and light/fan combo. In upstairs bathrooms, put in toilet, light & light/fan, & bathtub hardware.|

the only stumbling block was in the very beginning when henry had to push back the start date of the project by one week - but that was due to the bad weather we'd been having and all projects got pushed back. henry is just wonderful to deal with as a general contractor. he's personable, funny, reasonable, intelligent and most importantly listens to you and will work with you when dealing with issues that arise instead of just ignoring or arguing with you. case in point - when the deck stair railings on two sets of steps were not done the way we wanted, we expressed our concerns to henry and the next time we were at the house saw that he had had both steps totally redone to our complete satisfaction. and i don't think there was any adjustment in price. both my husband and i think henry is fantastic and recommend him and sure-fix highly. the work they do is top-notch.
Description of Work: henry rouhana, the owner of sure-fix, and his crew(s) did so much that i hardly know where to begin. we needed to have a ton of painting done encompassing the entire downstairs except for the living room, of a 3500+ sq. ft. home, i.e. kitchen, open concept family/dining room, hallways, and master bedroom. then the stairwell heading upstairs, the upper hallway and two bedrooms. the master bedroom had the ceiling resheetrocked and painted, we had 6 ceiling fans throughout the house removed and then replaced, any/all holes expertly patched, light fixtures installed - 6 recessed lights in kitchen as well as two other light fixtures, outdoor electrical lines established for pool pump, front porch electrical fixtures replaced, a two tiered back deck and railings powerwashed and painted, wooden deck steps ripped out and replaced, wooden steps leading from driveway to backyard demo'd and rebuilt, deck fencing along perimeter of driveway refurbished, strengthened and painted, some interior carpentry work that required some finessing, a microwave vented to the outside of the house, a dryer in the basement vented to the outside, and i'm probably forgetting a couple of things here but it's been a few months.

It went extremely well. I am very happy and having another project scheduled for January. Henry Rouhana and his team are the best people I have worked with in a long time since I started renovating houses. The kudos run the gamut of a very reasonable estimate which allows you to bargain hunt or use whatever material you have which were leftover materials from other contractors I had worked with; to the professionalism Henry ran his company in that he made sure that he stopped at the job site at least twice a day to make sure things were being done accordingly and his open communication line, where you could call or email him anytime you needed to and he never talked down to you as a client who does not know anything about construction, especially as a woman, which showed how respectful he is of others and how approachable he is. We worked together very amicably as if we had worked with him before or known each other for a long time. Although we started the job just planning to renovate a dated bathroom, we ended up almost doing a whole house renovation. This attests to the workmanship and quality work the team, Tony, Steve, Tariq, Hernando, Michel and Oscar, delivered; the punctuality of the staff reassured us every morning that work on the house was continuing and at the end of the day they would not rush off home until they were satisfied it was at the right spot to stop for the day; the cleanliness the crew left the house in at the end of each day allowed us to continue living in the house as if there were no renovations being done; of paramount importance was the courtesy with which the team treated my family and I, they soon became part of the family as they spent the whole day with us and sometimes were left to look after the house when I went for errands or to my doctor's appointments, that is trust. Another thing that made the whole project less stressful, was that the team never played their music to so loud as to interfere with the daily workings of the family. Henry used no VOC as we had asked and that's what we got, no horrific fumes requiring us to relocate during the painting, I was always pleasantly surprised when told that a team member had finished painting a room. Thanks Henry and your Team!!!!
Description of Work: Gutted my dated bathroom and brought into the modern day; removed dark paneling out of the family room and two bedrooms and put in new drywall and painted the rooms; also painted two bedrooms that did not have paneling; removed small old baseboards throughout the house and replaced them with new 5 inch plus ones and painted them; painted the second floor and first floor hallways, the kitchen, the dining room; living room and finally the foyer also got a facelift by replacing the old rickety banister wood spindles with wrought iron ones; painted the stair risers white which were painted dark brown before, but the piece de resistance was replacing the drab dark stone floor with a light stone floor with a medallion. Wow!

As others have reviewed Henry and his crew do an excellent job. He is very responsive and the work was completed quickly and on time. With any job you are going to run into challenges. For example the original scope of work was to tear off and re-deck but after demo the crew discovered the original deck did not have concrete footers so the work changed. We had a two level deck which changed into a single level to cut down costs. Henry did a great job of guiding us through the challenges and we are extremely pleased with his results. After my Wife's sister in law saw our remodeled deck she had Henry and Sure-Fix build them a deck that they are extremely pleased with their work too. Price Henry is not the cheapest but you get what you pay for so it is worth it. When the scope of work changed from a re-deck to a remodel it does require a permit. So if you are friends with code enforcement do not put deck work progress pictures on Facebook or you will get a visit from the code enforcement officer. This visit had nothing to do with Henry. His work was approved on the spot by the Code Officer. I highly recommend Henry and the Surefix crew.

Henry, (the Owner) is a unique individual, attentive to your needs, listens then recommends. My wife was worried about the timing of the work, a week before Thanksgiving. Henry assured us that the work would be done in 3 days, he was wrong, took them two!!! 5 guys, plus the counter top team. Home looks like new. We will definitely use them again for other projects that we are planning.

Henry was prompt, thorough, honest, accommodating, worked with our budget. From start, his workers are polite, and go out of their way to accommodate you. They make sure you are happy. The walls, trim, closets, ceilings, were all painted. Wallpaper borders were taken down, upper kitchen cabinets were removed, ceiling repaired, interior and exterior light fixtures installed. Henry noted things that needed repair and instructed his crew to get it done. From start to finish, we were happy. I have used Sure-Fix in the past and will call them again. He pressure washed the exterior, replaced some damaged soffit, and hauled away all the debris, and there was a lot of debris. He will work with you.

The entire experience was fantastic. As soon as I contacted Henry he returned my calls, made an appointment to come over and review the job. He was very thorough, he had excellent design suggestion and provided a very detailed plan. He provided all the details that I needed to for the local building permit. He set a schedule and started exactly when he said he would. His team was excellent. They are clearly focused on delivering an high quality job. Henry was very professional with his estimate and payment processes. The sub-contractors and companies that he works with were also excellent making selection of paint colors, flooring products, doors and hardware so simple. I'm totally delighted with the end product. It's exactly as I had hoped. I identified a few additional items that I wanted to get done while Henry and his crew were here and he quoted a very fair price and completed those requests. I would recommend him to anyone and will certainly go back to Sure-fit with any future requirements that I might have. I was dreading starting the project and I'm so happy that my son-in-law encouraged me to move forward because it was such an easy process with no frustration. My professional background is Project Manager and I appreciate that skill in the people that I deal with. Henry is a role model.

He is a very nice man, very knowledgeable. The only thing that was little different was the fact that the price quoted did not include the actual purchase of the tiles, which is fine. We have even picked out the pattern that we wanted and again we went with some other company because and prestige because someone had recommended it. I would definitely call them again.

The job went well and as planned. They tore down the destroyed paneling that was cut away during the purchase of the home to install a French Drain and installed same type of paneling in the Man Cave. A picture of got accidentally damaged and Henry went out and bought the same pic of Mets Stadium at Lowes. It was my fault that the pic got in the way so no fought was to the grew. It was not agreed for the ugly 70ish bar to be removed but when I saw the water damage at the bottom I asked Henry to remove the bar completely and they complied. There were old huge speakers in the ceiling and they removed them and installed new white panels in their place. Wehe the carpet was installed it was discovered by the person installing the carpet that there was water damage at the bottom step. Henry had a small crew come out and repair the damage without extra cost. It was a 5 minute job. They also installed 2 new doors in the Man Cave and two new doors in the washroom along with shelves in the one closet. I plan on hiring this contractor again to remodel our kitchen in the future and Henry already discussed with me some ideas on what to do to make more room. Henry is honest and willing to work with you and save you money where he can.
Description of Work: Henry's crew was down right professional and paid care attention to detail. When I bought the home the entire walls were literally cut out to install a French Drain around the perimeter of the basement. The crew tore all the paneling down and installed the same type of paneling. They also took out that ugly 70ish style, orange and red bar that was rotting at the bottom. They installed 4 doors and shelves in the washroom. I was over well pleased with their work and plan on hiring them again in the future to do our kitchen. Henry was honest and forthright with his opinions and effort to save us money. I highly recommend this contractor to do your work.

Henry came out to do an estimate and was very prompt on scheduling to look at what I wanted done. One he arrived he was very professional and knowledgeable and even provided suggestions. His crew came out and were professional, clean, and they do an excellent job. Henry makes sure everything is done to his standards as well and will check the work once it's completed. Henry makes sure everything looks perfect and it does! I will be using this company for more future projects and recommended him to family and friends.
Description of Work: I had dry rot removed around the front door and around two windows above the door. The rotted area was replaced with PVC boarding. I also had a storm door installed, but the crew first had to build a frame for it since I have two side lights.

They were polite and cleaned up the mess including the driveway. We are thinking about remodeling our bathroom and we will definitely use them again. Henry and his crew were great! They arrived right on time every morning ready to work. Within fifteen minutes of starting the project, all of the old carpet was removed and painting prep was started. I was informed throughout the entire process. If an area needed touched up, the crew was right on it. I was amazed at the amount of work that was completed in the amount of time allotted. I would definitely recommend Sure Fix Remodeling and would definitely use them again in the future!

Arrived Saturday morning to install bannister - job completed that day. Steve, the carpenter, was very professional and friendly. The quality of the installation more than met our expectations. Remodeling is never really easy, but Henry and his team made the experience as painless as possible. And the results are well worth the money and effort. Henry made some excellent suggestions, like when I asked him to fix my pocket doors do they wouldn't keep coming off the rollers. He suggested we use my existing, beautiful lead glass doors and changing them from pocket doors to French doors. I am very happy with the tile work and the painting that was done as well. In our mudroom, they had to virtually replace the wall before painting it since my very large puppy had clawed right through the wall!
Description of Work: The main projects we had were to put tile in our kitchen and bath and paint the kitchen, bath and two bedrooms. After that I added on all the little projects that never seem to get done - paint my front door, add a concrete step to my front porch as the lawn had sunk so much I could barely step onto the porch, take lead glass pocket doors between front room and den and make them French Doors (as pocket doors they kept coming off the rollers), add a glass pane door to the other entry way enclosing the front room so it could be an office, hand closet doors in one bedroom. I'm probably forgetting a few other little things.

Their prices were very reasonable. What I liked was their continual communication and updating of their progress and they are trustworthy. I didn't like their attention to detail, the whole house was gutted and redone, and they did a great job with the kitchen and bathroom, but then they did not cut in well in the painting part, overall their quality was excellent, but the attention to detail was a little disappointing.

When I read a review, I do not want to know how the product looks upon delivery. I want to know how it has stood up to daily use, for a period of time - do you still like it after some time has passed, would you buy it again now that you own it? It has been two months since my kitchen remodel, and I am still loving the finished product. My kitchen is now an enjoyable place to work, serves as the hub of a very busy home, and is the source of many compliments - and even some envy! Henry brought to fruition a vision I had from when I first walked into my house twelve years ago - the kitchen wall had to go. It was obstructive, and left one isolated from the entire house. Now the house is so open and appears to be much larger. The scope of the job was intimidating ( to my husband), the wait was interminable (it was three weeks from final decision to beginning demolition ... in hindsight, hardly a long time), and the process was messy ( it was impossible to contain this kind of work to any one area, the dust was everywhere). The crew was friendly, prompt, and courteous. Henry is personable and responsive to concerns. His estimate was one of three that I had obtained. It was the most reasonable, the only one in which the contractor actually took the time and effort to sketch the changes we were discussing, and the only one that mentioned insurance and was supported with a written contract. My budget was that of a poor man, but the completed job is nothing short of turning my home into my palace.

Henry sent a four man crew lead by Tony. I was amazed how they all worked together as a team and the entire project went smoothly. It only took them 2 whole days to complete the project. Henry was great to talk to and work with, and his positive attitude and reassurance to me was encouraging. Henry takes great pride in his employees and their work. Henry is not one of those contractors that will lie to you just to get more money out of you. He is outright honest and will tell you the best and least expensive way to do the project. I enquired to Henry about another job about someday extending our kitchen. Once he looked at it and saw that the oil tank and A/C unit would cost well over $6,000 alone he was honest and said it would be better to perhaps rearrange or kitchen instead and it would not cost as much. Henry is not into the construction business just to get one's money but he is there to make the right and best suggestion for the person wishing to hire him. I greatly appreciated his honesty on anything we talked about. I strongly endorse Henry and Sure Fix to do anyones job.
Description of Work: Henry's crew took to task what was a complete destruction of my man cave. The entire bottom half of the 2 x 3, paneling was literally cut away in order to install a French Drain. A metal base was installed and 2 x 3 extensions were connected to the remaining 2 x 3 and installation was replaced and all new paneling sheets installed. Also shelves were put in the closet of the wash room and doors attached on four walkways. Also the the prize thing any man cave would need is an urinal, which was installed in the washroom.

We first had him come out around the middle of March. When he came out, we told him everything that we wanted to do. Four days later, he presented us with an estimate. We conversed back and forth about the materials and the project in general. Every time we talked it took him about a week to get back to me. I kept asking him for a drawing several times and when he would finally send it, it wouldn't be right. He finally got back to me and said that he was waiting on Lowe's to get back to him on the pricing for all the materials, since we had switched the materials and wanted something different. When he finally got back to me, 6 days later, he told me that it was going to be an extra $750, then what he originally quoted. I told him that this seemed like an absorbent amount of money. I then called Lowe's to get the pricing myself, for the specific materials, and found out that not only was it a price increase, but that the materials I wanted were less expensive ($1,000). When I confronted him about this, he said that he was no longer available to do the job.
Description of Work: They were suppose to replace the deck and add on an additional portion.
