Atlantic Ridge

We met with Chris several weeks ago about designing a landscape plan for our new home. When Chris came out he took measurements and photos. He returned 7 days later with an amazing plan. He incorporated everything we asked for and then some! Chris was always on time and very informative. We look forward to working with Atlantic Ridge in the spring.

After a delayed start we had a walk around and good discussion of possibilities and finally a detailed and professional plan was given to me. I didn't like the plan ... a matter of my taste ... and I did not contract to have the landscaping done.

Job went pretty smoothly and the finished product is very beautiful. We are happy with the results.

We talked on both the phone and via email. I never used it. Their communication was fine though.

This contractor came within days of contacting him and he looked at the projected we wanted. A few days later he returned with a lay out of the project he thought we might like and all the necessary paperwork, including his insurance and bonding, to make us feel at ease. We went on vacation and we decided to have the work done after we returned. We returned on a Friday and Monday morning his men were at the house and ready to go. They were pleasant and diligent workers. I would absolutely recommend Atlantic Ridge to anyone wanting pleasant people to deal with and excellent work performance. We wanted only one change from what the owner recommended and it was accepted pleasantly and done quickly.

Chris, the owner, responded to our inquiry and developed a plan and drawing within days of our request. After slight revisions, we hired them for the work. They scheduled the job and arrived in the timeframe we agreed. The work crew was professional and personable and responded quickly to some minor changes requested during the project. They completed the project to our complete satisfaction in 1 1/2 days and were diligent in ensuring everything was cleaned up. Overall the experience exceeded our expectations, Chris was personable, flexible and responsive to all of our needs as was his crew. In the week since its completion we have gotten nothing but rave reviews from our friends and neighbors. We would definitely use Atlantic Ridge again and would be comfortable referring them to our friends and neighbors.

Due to excessive snow this past winter, all the bushes in the front yard had to be replaced. As we recently moved to PA from CA, we were not familiar with east coast plants. Consequently, we hired Atlantic Ridge - and we loved Gregory's design. The job was done in a timely manner - as weather permitted. The crew was great and they were more than eager to please us. They even went the extra mile by cleaning up a mess we made in another area - at no extra cost. Also took care of drainage problems. The end result was a design that made our house look like a brand new home. It's beautiful. BUT, a piece of advice to the first timer. Don't "assume" anything. Don't assume because your ground is the worst in the county they will dig all that up and replace it with wonderful soil. I picked out a tree that I love and later learned that the winter took a toll on this tree. Had we known, we would have chosen a hardier species. All this was no fault of Atlantic, but ours! Do your homework!!

I enjoyed working with the Sales Person Ryan. He was very down to earth and low pressure. They came up with several designs for me to choose from. They were a little higher than some other quotes I got from little "mom and pop" type installers, but I felt confident with them since they have some name recognition in the Easton area. They only asked for a small deposit, where other smaller guys wanted half down which made me nervous. We have had the patio for 4+ years and it still looks great. We do have some moss growth between the pavers so we have power washed. We actually contacted another company "Paver Savers" about the issue, they said the sand technology has improved a lot in the past 4 years and they could use a new sand to prevent that. They would have to power wash all the current sand out and put new sand in. It was pretty pricey so we have not done it. We also have a few pavers along the edge that are sinking due to erosion of the dirt. (not something I consider their fault at all.) I did call them and offered to pay to have them come fix it but they have not gotten back to me. I actually called twice. I think perhaps because it is summer and this is their busy season, they don't have time for small jobs like this.

Last fall we met with Atlantic Ridge (Greg) and another vendor to redo our overgrown and lackluster landscaping in the front and back of our townhouse. We told both vendors what we we envisioned. At the time we thought we would keep most of the existing front yard landscaping and half of the backyard but add a patio. However, we also asked both vendors to give us a design that they thought would look best. The other vendor presented a plan that reflected what we thought we wanted and had we not had Greg's design as comparison we probably would have gone with them. Greg's design showed us not only what was possible but included elements we had never thought of. For the work proposed, cost was comparable so we went with the "wow" factor. The end result was stunning and we've had nothing but positive comments from our neighbors. We've also had numerous requests for a party on the patio which exceeded all of our expectations! Even though the work was done in October and many of the plants were dormant or went quickly into dormancy, the yard was beautiful all winter. The design accomplished the goal of 4-season interest. The work took only 2-1/2 days and during the entire time the crew was professional leaving their work areas organized and neat at the end of each day. They went out of their way to be sure that even areas not landscaped were trimmed and mulched. Unfortunately, the harsh winter took its toll on some of our plants but Atlantic Ridge has since come back and replaced everything that died and all plantings are doing well. We would definitely recommend and use them again.

We told Chris what we wanted - color, texture - not just green shrubs - wanted the WOW factor! He presented his design a few days later - it was everything we wanted . The job was done in a timely manner & was finished in 3 days as promised. The crew was very professional, friendly, & answered all of our questions & concerns. It looks absolutely wonderful, especially the raised stone wall for the Grow Boxes.Chris & his crew did everything they said they would & did provide the WOW Factor !!! They all deserve an A+++

Greg looked over our property and we discussed what we wanted to do at this time, which included ripping out old overgrown evergreen shrubs in the front of the house and behind the garage, and trimming (if possible) other large shrubs on the sides. Also, replacing the shrubs and mulch with the possibility of a new paver sidewalk depending on the expense. Discussed plants and shrubs we liked. Greg said it would take approx a week for his design and we would hear from them at that time. We were planning on doing this immediately that fall, as I told him; i.e. we were serious customers. We never heard from them again. Why? Who knows, I guess they did not need or want the business, but another contractor did do the job very well. Maybe it was too small for them? Unprofessional to say the least and they should have responded to us either way.

With their schedule and our we were not able to coordinate a time to get the work done.

This was well worth the price! Greg was very knowledgable and spent a lot of time with us during the consultation to ensure he had a full understanding of our needs. When he met with us upon completion of the plans, he far exceeded our expectations! He captured our style perfectly! Customer satisfaction is definitely their priority!

The outcome was great. We love the look and are really happy about it. We would use them again in a minute

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went well. They completed the job in a timely fashion. It was fine. It cost several hundred dollars. They did beyond what we asked them to do. When they got into the job, we saw some things that actually needed doing, we haven't talked about other things. The whole thing worked out well. So far, the quality looks fine, but we'll see in the spring for the landscaping, but you always expect some dieback. Their responsiveness and punctuality were fine.

After we purchased the deal, the office called us to make an appointment. Chris came over, listened to our request and questions, he did measurements and a couple of weeks later he sent us the design of the landscaping and suggestions as he promised. Very professional, and we will use them again to carry out the detail of the design in the coming Spring.

We were presented with several detailed landscape architectural plans and a complete breakdown of all materials, including shurb photos and descriptions-something which other landscapers were unwilling to do or did so in a very fundamental way. When we needed to modify, Gregory,the landscape architect, did so to our satisfaction. There has been a follow up to complete any minor details to our satisfaction. I purchased an Angie's Big Deal for Atlantic Ridge to provide a consultation and design for landscaping my back yard. Chris was professional, prompt and knowledgeable. His ability to grasp my vision of the finished project and think outside of the box was beyond my expectations and he also included design ideas for the area immediately in front of my house. I will definitely utilize Atlantic Ridge for all landscape work when I move forward with this project. Chris rocks!

Their quote was too expensive, didn't hire them

It worked out very good. I just got the drawings this past Tuesday. My husband and I both really, really liked him. Chris is the gentleman. He is the owner, I guess. He came out, sat with us and discussed things. He went back and made the drawings. He came back and went through everything again. He gave us really good alternative ideas on cheaper materials and how to save the money. More importantly, we were looking for someone who would help us make a plan and then maybe we could do a part of it ourselves. He was very receptive on that. He broke it down and told us which one was easier and which one we could do. He said that he could come in and do the heavy work. The price was reasonable. If there were no issues with finances, I wouldn't hesitate to give the whole job to the guy. He was very nice.

First, Chris is a great communicator - phone, text, email. I was never guessing on the status of my project. When we were laying out the plans, he advised me against my original plan of a small retaining wall using versa-lok blocks because he was concerned the wall may sink as the buried tree stump continued to deteriorate. His idea with the boulders was less expensive and still visually appealing. The biggest expense of the project was the fence, ~120'. I chose to go through A.R. for the fence work because there was a bunch of site clearing and improvements that was needed to prior to the fence install. I didn't want to play GC to coordinate the activities, Chris was able to handle it. Added scope was priced fairly. At project close-out, there were a few details that needed addressing and were handled promptly with no complaint. A word of warning if you do fencing. Perform your due diligence prior to starting a fence project - permits, survey and talk to your neighbors. This piece was excluded from A.R. scope and I skipped it because we were replacing a fence like-for-like. Needless to say, this caused a fuss with the neighbor because a post landed within his property. He was in the right, even though the post had always been there since the original fence was installed. Easton requires a permit and survey for any fence project, even if it is a direct replacement.

They were fine and it was a good plan. The plans came out well. I would use them again.

The initial visit from Chris was thorough, Chris took his time and kept the suggestions flowing. He told me he would get me prices and he did, then his crew performed the transformation.
