Where to start … Our deck/covered porch dream was finally realized after 10 years, with the help of the Keystone Team! From the evolution of our initial concept-vs-budget reality in the able hands of Ron Yoder ... to the many design refinements and multiple 3D renderings & video created by Brad Sensenich, our vision finally started to become a reality. We also cannot say enough about Keystone's on-site crews ... The Masons… Amos, Matthew, Elmer and Mailey, were just great to work with, are excellent craftsmen, and made a special trip to get the stone and stucco just right. The Electricians… Andrew and Bart, worked quickly and also made tweaks until the complex system worked perfectly. Dimmers everywhere! :) Keystone’s construction team… Turner and Daniel, along with Project Manager, Ray Stoltzfus, were simply amaaazing! Not only were they prompt, courteous, with impeccable attention to detail and pride in their craft… they completed our rather large project in under 5 weeks—in time for a planned Thanksgiving gathering with our family! Ray in particular brought every small change/issue to our attention, made on-site design suggestions to enhance aesthetics and functionality, showed options for materials, brainstormed surround finishes, and made sure the stained wood areas matched just right. Love my corbels! :) I have to mention the level of finish when the construction was completed. We’re talking sanding, buffing, blowing, scrubbing and power washing folks! Just above and beyond in every way... In closing, the whole crew (office staff included) surpassed our expectations on the creation of our dream deck… while also being absolute gentlemen and just awesome, kind people. They have our appreciation for all of their hard work while we enjoy this space with our family for years to come… and the admiration of our family, friends and neighbors, who will most certainly be calling them for their next project!

Top-notch company, great experience start to finish. I wanted to put in a large L-shaped deck that would run "edge to edge" on all sides with a pool, fence, and house. Ron helped me design a deck that was exactly what I had in my head and supplied 3D renderings (including video) to show exactly what the finished product would look like. Matt and the construction team did an amazing job, showing up on time every morning, cleaning up every night, and showing real attention to detail throughout, The final product is beautiful and exactly what I had in mind.

I love my new deck! Before starting the work, I got bids from four contractors. Keystone was not the least expensive, but I really liked the team and their concept for my project, so I hired them, and am glad that I did. They were great about walking me through each step of the project - they even obtained the permit from my township. The crew was efficient, professional, and polite - they cleaned up after themselves each evening, and kept me apprised of their progress while they were on site. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking to install a deck.

This was by far the best contractor experience ever from the very beginning to completion. It all started with Ron who was able to interpret our vision and take that back to the designers. When Ron came back to us with the 3D renderings and video we were amazed. The design captured and exceeded our vision in style, features, and functionality. Then the patience Ron showed working with us to make some design changes, not because we didn't like the design, but to make it work within our budget, was second to none. Kevin, who took care of the planning and scheduling was awesome as well. He was always responsive and helpful for any questions we had leading up to the project start as well as during the project execution. He always sent us an email early in the morning if the crew was not going to be working that day due to weather. The level of communication was great! Last but not least, Matt Esh and his crew Matt King and Josh executed beyond all expectations. The crew always showed up about 15 minutes early to bring their equipment in to get setup and start exactly on time promptly at 7am each morning. Matt has the patience of a saint. I know I am obsessive with perfection, borderline neurotic, but Matt always took the time to listen to my concerns or questions. I always expect a few problems with a project this large, but when a couple problems did pop up, I thought it was awesome how the team handled it. Matt immediately brought it to my attention instead of covering it up. The best part, he always had multiple options for solutions. We’d talk about the solutions and he would make any solution work to make the customer happy. The craftsmanship is impeccable. The perfectly straight lines, balanced curves, and miter joints cut to perfection are very satisfying to see for my type ‘A’ personality. You can tell these guys take A LOT of pride in their work. I would highly recommend Keystone Custom Decks to anyone looking to enhance their outdoor living experience. If you can, request Matt Esh and his crew, simply awesome!

Project went very well. Superb workmanship done by the crew. I would recommend going over the contract with the crew chief before construction starts due to the fact that we made changes to the original plan and it was not transferred to the contract the crew was following. The only other issue I had with Keystone was communication. I was told the week before that they may be starting on the deck the following week depending on the weather, but never received any notice as to when they would be starting. They just showed up one day, which was fine because I just happened to be off. The other communication issue we had was when the electrician would return to finish installing the outlets. We were told he would be there on a Tuesday. We waited at home all day with a no show for the electrician. This was very problematic because the township inspector was suppose to come on Wednesday for the final inspection. I left a message with Kevin Tuesday at 3:30 pm, Wednesday morning at 8:00 am then called again around 10 am. I finally received a call from Brad (apparently Kevin was in a meeting) at 10:08 informing us that the electrician would be there on Thursday morning and the final inspection would be on Friday at 1 pm.

These guys were phenomenal. From my initial meeting with Mahon, to the quick and clean install, to the continued follow-ups, Keystone Custom Decks out of Keuka Park (Rochester/Finger Lakes) comes highly recommended by me. They were able to adjust for changes, patient with my timing, and flexible on details as we worked to make it perfect -- even adding some electric last minute. This was a relatively large deck (600+sqft) that added priceless value and comfort to my home. I get compliments every time and you will too.

Keystone was excellent throughout the entire process. I started the process with them about a year before the actual construction began and they were responsive throughout the entire time frame, including occasional follow-ups to discuss timing, etc. Their 3D renderings were accurate and provided a great visual of what the final product would look like. During construction, Mike and his crew were very responsive and kept me up-to-date throughout the entire process. While there were a few minor hiccups during the project, we were able to quickly work through them and reach a great outcome. Overall I would definitely recommend and would consider them for future projects for my home. Great job by Mike and his crew!

Keystone was excellent in all respects. The design and renderings were great and very accurate. The work was top notch, the people were a pleasure to have in our home and the price was very competitive. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The Keystone Custom Deck team did a wonderful job. It started with a great consultation and advice by the sales manager, a very good and authentic 3D rendering of the design and an optimal communication between us and the different experts involved in the project with very good transparency upfront. The big project took the team 4 weeks to finalize and they kept the timelines spot on. The crew (3 core people) showed a very high level of craftsmanship, were always on time, focused on the details of the work, did an excellent job with love for perfection, were friendly and always in a good mood (even in freezing temperatures). They cleaned the job site every evening, listened to our suggestions or questions and finished the project in a very professional way. Both, deck and porch are truly beautiful. We would hire them again in a heartbeat.

FANTASTIC!!! We were so pleased with Keystone Custom Decks. They have been the best contractor we've ever worked with. Always on time, so polite and the craftsmanship is beautiful! Ron was our salesman and we liked him immediately. He helped us figure out the best plan for our small backyard. Mike and his crew were on site. They demoed our old deck including removing a roof. Our plan for the new deck did not have a roof, so they needed to do A LOT of patch work, including finding siding to match our 25 year old siding. They worked so hard to make it look beautiful and it does. They asked questions to make sure what they were doing was exactly what we wanted. We were so pleased. We would recommend them to anyone. We wish we could use them for all of our projects-kitchen, bathroom? please :)

Keystone Custom Decks built our deck in Summer 2015. We considered a couple other companies and decided to go with Keystone based on the very professional 3D presentation by Ryan Glick of what our deck would look like and the customer service we received even before we were clients. The crew that built our deck was extremely hard working and polite; always at our home first thing in the morning and worked on our deck all day. For two reasons, I'm giving four stars instead of five: 1) our project took longer than initially quoted by Keystone. Our deck is large (735 sq ft), has a curve to it, and is very high off the ground. So, I think they may have underestimated these factors when quoting the project timeline. And 2) we had to follow up with Keystone about a month after our deck was finished due to a swale in the Trex decking. One of the men from the group who built our deck came out to assess the issue and was unable to fix it properly. After some follow up with Ryan Glick, he sent out another person to assess the issue and he agreed there was a noticeable swale. Keystone came back within the week and fixed it properly. Overall, we are very pleased with our deck and we receive complaints on it all the time. Keystone made our idea a reality. From a cost and workmanship perspective, we feel we received a high quality product at a fair price. We would recommend Keystone to anyone in the market for a deck!

Ryan, from KCD made me feel very comfortable and was the most helpful out of all of them. He put me at ease right away, and brought physical samples of the decking and spent about an hour discussing all the options and details to help me make the best decision. He also helped me pick out the best color match to the other decks in our development, as we live in an HOA where that's required and we would be the first in the neighborhood to install this newer Timbertech material. Not only did I have the best feeling about this company over the others I had contacted, their bid came in the lowest out of the four I received! The entire company was very courteous, friendly, and quick to respond to my questions, including Marv, who was my contact for scheduling the job. Watching the crew during the re-build, I was able to see they did quality work and they instilled even more confidence in me that they were doing things correctly and the final results would not only look beautiful but be done properly from a construction standpoint. We couldn't be happier with our new deck and would highly recommend Keystone Custom Decks to anyone doing a similar project.

Everyone that I dealt with in the company was excellent. Ron, sales person, spent a great deal of time with us ensuring we had a quote for exactly what we wanted. Bradley, in the office, was always there to answer any questions we had. The project manager and his team were extremely professional doing an outstanding job!

Keystone did excellent work form the design stage through the completion of construction. They were always prompt, courteous and responsive to any requests or concerns. The sales and design process was great. The 3D images with multiple views they provide as part of the planning/design service is invaluable. The construction team did high quality work and was responsive and flexible regarding additional requests/issues we raised at the time of building.

Keystone did an absolutely fantastic job with this project. From the design work that Marv did to the actual construction that was led by Elvin, we could not be happier with the results. The design included a covered deck/porch (~400 sq ft) with gable roof finished with knotty pine for the ceiling with integral ceiling lights and fan plus deck lighting. The hardscape patio area adjacent to the deck was laid with techobloc of ~600 sq ft with adjoining walk way out to the driveway. The main focal point of the deck is a stone faced chimney/gas fireplace with slate hearth and mantel. Nate (the mason) who did the work did an outstanding job mixing and matching the stone layout/color pattern that gives the fireplace a truly 'wow' factor. The Keystone office handled all the township permits as well as the required inspections as the work progressed. The project lasted just over 2 weeks in duration and the crew that worked on site were professional, on time, cleaned up each day and did quality work. I received multiple bids for the project and Keystone was in the middle of the price quotes. I chose them based on seeing similar work that they had done for other customers, their responsiveness and willingness to work with me on the design, their excellent references from prior customers and that this is a family owned business. I would most definitely recommend Keystone Custom Decks to anyone who is looking to create an outdoor space for their home.

They did a great. The salesman, Ryan, was great and professional. The most professional of anyone else that came. The quote was thorough and timely and explained everything we talked about and provided a number of add on options for our convince. The crew they sent were some of the hardest workers I've ever seen. They struggled through 90 degree heat and oppressive humidity, and a little rain, to get the job done on time. I can't be happier with the completed project. Without a doubt we now have the best looking and best made deck in the neighborhood. They weren't the cheapest quote we got but their professionalism and reputation made the decision to go with them easy. Highly recommended.

The entire experience was a pleasure from start to finish. We interviewed three companies and Keystone Custom Decks stood out above the rest. From the initial sales call, through the design process, contract, and project completion, all phases were handled professionally and expertly. Marv was patient with us as we changed our minds many times on different aspects of the project. We finally settled on Trex Transcend decking and Key-Link's Arabian, powder coated aluminum railing. We also had them install Key-Link pool fencing too. It looks terrific. Our deck work crew consisted of Gideon the foreman and carpenters Danny and Javier. They did an excellent job and worked hard every day (sometimes in sweltering weather) from 7 am to 4 pm. They really know their stuff and they're nice people too. They completed the job in six days and stayed late on the last day in order to finish and clean up. Can't say enough about Keystone Custom Decks. We're very happy with their work and the quality of their customer service and employees.

Provided design with cost estimate and overall timeline of project upfront. All was done on time and overall very good experience

This company has been frustrating to work with. There have been delays and numerous communication issues. There are significant issues with the work itself that need to be fixed but I am having a very difficult time getting anyone from this company to get out and look at what needs to be addressed. If the management for this company would be willing to come out and look at the issues, I would be very appreciative.

In the response to my inquiry email, I was told that while they do provide services in my area, they would need to charge me $200 for the estimate. While I understand that they would need to drive to my location, I feel that $200 for an estimate is excessive. They did explain that the $200 would be taken off of the cost of the job if I selected them for the job, however, I do not feel that this would lead to a competitive estimate as I would already have $200 invested in the estimate and they could walk away with $200 for simply providing an estimate.

We received three estimates for our deck/porch project. After reviewing the estimates, we decided to choose Keystone Custom Decks. We were very impressed by Keystone?s price and estimate presentation which included 3D views of the project. We worked with Marv on fine-tuning the project. He came to our home several times and was always very patient with answering all of our questions and concerns. After looking at 3-4 projects in the area that they had previously completed, we decided to add extra work to the scope of our project and we are so glad that we did. Each person that we spoke with when looking at their projects were all very happy with how their projects came out and praised everyone at Keystone. The work crew on our project was very polite, extremely professional and had an incredible work ethic. They arrived at around 7:00am and worked until between 4:00pm and 4:30pm each day with very limited breaks. The job site was cleaned up at the end of each work day and at the end of the project. We were able to add a few extra step lights and another outlet without any problems. If we had any questions or concerns during the construction, they were answered immediately. The final project came out looking just like the 3D view that they had supplied at the beginning of the project. The craftsmanship is excellent and everyone who looks at it is very impressed wants to know who we used. The deck/porch was finished at the beginning of December so we haven?t been able to really use it yet, but we look forward to the spring when we will be able to. We would highly recommend Keystone Custom Decks to anyone. Thank you to everyone for all of your hard work!

First class all the way. The deck is gorgeous and very professionally done. These gentlemen are true craftsmen. The job site was kept spotless. We knew what was going on every step of the way. They came when promised and we're here each day until the job was done.
