We were very pleased with the work MK Remodeling completed for us. They quickly responded to my phone call and scheduled a time to come and look at our garage. They were able to walk us through all the steps that would be needed to convert the garage into livable space including reviewing our heating and lighting options, the electrical work to be done, drywall and insulation, a new ceiling, new flooring, new windows, new atrium door and relocating piping so the faucet could be moved outside. Their pricing was competitive and we felt we could trust them to do the work right. During the work, they were very responsive to our questions and kept us updated as to the progress and schedule of the job as they were waiting for permits, material, etc. Overall, they were a pleasure to work with and we'd definitely work with them again.

MK Remodeling built an addition on our split level house. They added a Master bedroom, bathroom, laundry room and walk in closet, along with a front porch. Mike and his sons were great to work with, which we expected as this was the second time we used them. The first time was for a garage conversion into a family room, another big project, so obviously we trusted and really liked their work. If you are starting a huge project like an addition, you really need to be able to trust your contractor. It is a long and stressful process renovating your house while living in it. However, MK remodeling handled everything and communicated with me daily. They provided great input – Mike’s son Danny has a great eye for color and placement – but they allowed me to make my own decisions throughout the process. At times a project like this is very overwhelming, but with someone who is not only skilled, but very organized and communicative, it becomes a much more manageable undertaking. The end result is awesome, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. We have received many compliments on the quality of work they did. I highly recommend using MK Remodeling and know we will be using them in the future for other projects.

Mike and his sons did a fantastic job on out bathroom and closet remodel. They communicated well, were responsive and very professional. We enlarged our bathroom by moving the wall between the original bathroom and the large closet behind it. Mike's ideas about how to go about this were superior to other contractors and they most effectively maximized our space. During the project, he would ask us how we wanted things done, but would also tell us what he thought, which we appreciated as we highly valued his opinion. The finished product is beautiful and we have received numerous compliments on the job MK did, especially on the tilling of the shower. We would definitely use their services again and recommend them for remodeling work.

Mike and Sons were dependable from the start. If they say they will be there, they are. If there was a hold up due to inspection wait, we were informed ahead of time. New shower stall bathroom is beautiful, quality work done just as described. New closet is roomy and well built.

Mike was with us every step of the way. He met us at the cabinet store to assist us. He led us through the granite warehouse and the appliance center to ensure everything fit. Can't say enough good things about this company.

It was a great experience. Made a few suggestions along the way to make this kitchen the best in the neighborhood.

They were good. The price was high, the quality was good. They were high so I would find a cheaper one.

I am so beyond impressed with this contractor. Every day I would come home and I could see the work completed, the area was neat and tidy, communication was on point, they were on-time and flexible when I needed to move dates around and their quotes were very reasonable given others I received. I will absolutely use them again!

Mike and his two sons are the best contractors that I have ever worked with. I would definitely use them for future projects.

From the start, no other contractor worked like Mike to get the project to where we needed it to be financially. We really did not know what we were getting ourselves into and of all of the contractors that we interviewed (and we interviewed a lot!), Mike was the only one to offer to meet with our architect to get the project to where our budgets and dreams could align. Mike brought subcontractors to look at aspects of the project before he even wrote us an estimate, so there would not be any surprises later in the project. That meant a lot to us. Mike, Mike Jr. and Dan were a pleasure to work with. They were always available for questions, very quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had, were super punctual and they are talented craftsmen. Their ability to tie our old home into our new addition was very seamless, the two parts fit into each other very nicely. Mike's subcontractors were also great. They were clean, caring and very professional. Everyone worked very cleanly and with great respect for us and our house. We lived at the house throughout the entire project and they worked hard to keep it livable throughout. We could not have been happier with them. Although it may have taken slightly longer than what we had hoped due to unforeseeable delays, it was the best money we ever spent!

We are completely satisfied with the work that Mike and his team performed on our bathroom. We had four contractors come in to give us estimates on the work, and Mike's was very competitive. Three of the four estimates were strong, but before even discussing our favorites, my husband and I both agreed we felt best about Mike. Mike's experience was obvious during our initial meeting and it made us both feel very much at ease. Combined with his reviews on Angie's List, we felt very confident hiring Mike for the work. Mike's sons, Mike and Dan, did the majority of the work on our bathroom. They were on time and professional. Throughout the entire process, we were completely informed of the next steps and their timing. The project finished on-time and within budget. The work is fantastic. It looks great, and we have the peace of mind that it was done correctly by a team that knows what they're doing. We've included before and after pictures. We're so happy with our new bathroom!

Mike and his son came out on Friday to give me a quote; we set up the details over the weekend and they arrived early on Monday morning to start working. They were conscientious about my work schedule and did not mind arranging their work times around that; the floor was finished in one day without a problem and my one area of concern was addressed immediately. The drywall was also done quickly and looks great. The were very clean and made sure we were happy with every step of the process.

Working with MK Remodeling was a great experience. Mike and his sons were very professional and communicated openly throughout the project. I'd receive an email almost every night detailing that day's work and what was being done next. Mike worked really well with me in helping me make decisions by providing me with options on what he thought was the best approach. Mike and his sons had a creative solution to working around our interior gas meter. It looks awesome, and I couldn't imagine the room looking any better. Their quotes were very thorough and itemized, so we weren't surprised with any costs, which after working with other contractors who don't provide as much detail was very much appreciated. Mike also handled all the permits and drawings with the township, which was a time saver for us and included things you don't think of that can be annoying when starting any project. They were all great guys and I enjoyed working with them, plus they were really nice to our kids. We are thrilled with the room. I recommend MK Remodeling highly for any job.

I interviewed 2 specialty deck companies and MK Remodeling for this project. The prices came in about the same, but we decided to go with Mike after having had him help us with some outdoor stairs at our former house and the fact he wasn't a salesman but the contractor. One thing I really appreciated was how Mike called and emailed me to keep me in the loop, ask questions, etc. I thought the communication was unusually good. We had some difficulty with our homeowner's assoc. getting back to us in a timely fashion, but Mike dogged that and the permits. The work was completed quickly and professionally . The deck looks great.

When I moved into my house I knew I had a job on my hands. They place hand't been updated since the 1970s. I contacted a number of contractors in my area and after receiving a number of estimates went with MK. The reasoning for my decision to hire MK was a combination of the inclusiveness of their quote, his willingness to work with us on a difficult project, and a shared connection within the business (which was unknown to me at the time). Upon hiring around early June we got down to the details of the dormer. My house is a Cape Cod which included the laundry in the kitchen. Since we needed to do an entire update of the electrics anyways we went with a dormer of approx. 40 feet from the end of the house to the middle. They were able to provide drawing and the permitting process was a breeze due to building on existing foundation. Once the framing was completed and roofing placed on the back of the house we decided to have the whole roof done. MK was able to get me a # for that extremely quickly and the job was completed within a week of ask. Being an older house there were a number of hurdles encountered...mainly the joists being somewhat sloped. This made the tiling in the upstairs bathroom somewhat difficult since there was approx. 1/2" difference between the ceiling on one side of the tub vs the other. MK was able to come up with an elegant solution that adds a bit more to the tiling and allows for a nice symmetric look and excellent protection. In addition, due to removing part of a room to allow for the dormer we negotiated in drywall and rough finishing for the upstairs room while in mid-job. For the downstairs the plan was to demo the bathroom and kitchen. The downstairs bathroom was to be full tiled to 4'. Once again the intricacies of the house reared their head to show and unevenness in the ceiling. However, it much less significant downstairs and easy dealt with. As a note, both bathrooms look incredible. The quality is to notch and the finishing is exactly what I was hoping for. For the kitchen what we had originally budgeted for and what we ended up with were somewhat divergent...but that is not to be unexpected with a job of this size. Granted what we had originally drawn up for the kitchen worked, yet with some reworking from MK we came up with a better more efficient lay out that maximized the space better. Appointments with their kitchen designer were easy and accommodating. Once cabinets were decided upon we once again decided to go a different route and decided on granite counter top instead of the composite we originally budgeted for. Once again appointments were easy and the granite people were excellent and extremely helpful. Finally, I had insisted upon window cut into the wall between the kitchen and living room. Despite being a load bearing wall this was easy accomplished and the window/bar counter top is perfectly level and trimmed despite the slight lean with the joists. Now one thing I feel I must mention is that my electrics were a mess. Complete disaster. I was aware of this and tried to ensure MK was as well. However, until you really get into the walls you can never really tell how bad. MK will not tell me how bad, but suffice to say everything is up to code and is as it should be. I do not know the true cost of the job. All I paid was what was quoted to me and not a dime more for that specific part of the contract. Now I would be remiss to not mention payments, timings, meetings, correspondences etc. Payments were laid out very easy in a scheduled manner to coincide with major completion of work. A small retainer to begin with and then several large checks to cover the bulk of the work...approx. 10 to 15% depending on what was completed. Very easy to make sense of and all laid out to you on the contract. I have never had an issue with contacting MK...they are prompt with email replies and available for calls and replied to texts on the weekends to questions. Meetings were easy to set up and they were always prompt and on time. Very courteous and professional, but a good sense of humor and jovialness in their mood. They take pride in what they do and looking at what I have now vs. what I started with and what some of my friends/family have received in terms of this type of work MK are top notch. Note MK are a family business and that's why I went with them. They are smaller so might not have some of the fancy abilities of other contractors or large companies ,yet they were extremely accommodating with all the changes, updates, and add ons that I requested. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in the area looking for small or large jobs to be completed.

Overall, the work is solid and should last for years. The contractors had to accommodate a curvature in the cement floor of the porch, which they did masterfully. We hadn't even noticed the curve. Mike and his son were easy to work with and responsive. His estimate was accurate - no surprises - and they started the work when they said and completed it when they said. They also easily accommodated my request for an additional horizontal beam feature, extra caulking, and cleaned up after the work was done (that hasn't always been our experience with contractors). There is one beam that appears to be damaged; there are pieces missing from the edges that would not be repairable with caulk or other filler. When the wood is painted, we will not be able to hide this. In addition, the beams on either side of the door are not straight. They bend at the top. Apparently this is common with treated wood (better for outdoor environments) because it is still wet when installed. It is a minor aesthetic issue, but noticeable to me. Finally, there are nails and screws that protrude from the wood in certain spots that will prevent us from having a smooth surface once we paint. This is why I rated the quality B instead of A.

My insurance company recommended this contractor higly to do renovation work. We had some trouble connecting by phone - and admittedly I was hard to get a couple of times - but once we finally did connect he basically told me he was too busy to come look at the project.

Mike Sr. answered by phone call immediately and arrived shortly thereafter to give us an estimate regarding re-doing part of our family room which had water damage from a previous storm. He gave us a very reasonable estimate and worked great in our time frame - very accommodating! His son, Mike Jr., who was here everyday work was being done, was professional, courteous and on time. They communicated with us well and I could not be more pleased. Everyone from Mike and Mike to their subcontractors were fabulous. I highly recommend MK Remodeling!

Mike and his sons (Mike Jr. and Danny) along with all of their sub contractors were very friendly, courteous, and reliable. I originally selected Mike for our project after interviewing several highly rated contractors. All of the quotes came in at about the same price, but I felt that Mike and I would have the best connection. I knew I would be doing considerable portions of the work myself (demolition/electrical/plumbing) so it was important for me to find someone who I could work with. Mike was willing to work with me on the project and was very much a partner. As for the quality of the work, I knew I had hired the right group when I saw the number of levels and squares around the jobsite after they started. They used quality materials, and installed them according to the directions. Their framing was all installed square and plumb, and the various building inspectors even commented on the quality of their work. Mike also greatly helped me in areas of the project that were beyond his original scope of work. When the HVAC contractors required framing changes, he was onsite within a day to make sure the HVAC contractors wouldn't be waiting. He also helped me gather the paperwork my credit union required for the construction loan. There is nothing negative I could say about Mike and his crew. Mike was always responsive to my questions/concerns, even when I would text or call him in the evening. Working with Mike and his crew was like working with a group of reliable, competent, and trustworthy friends. Mike's crew is so trustworthy, that when my mother in law found a $20 bill blowing around the yard while his roofing/siding sub contractors were working, she figured it was one of theirs so she placed it under a hat they left on the ground. When they left, the crew member picked up his hat and left the $20 bill. I would absolutely recommend MK Remodeling, without any reservations, to all of my friends or family.

Renovations took a little longer then expected due to inclimate weather conditions, the same snow and ice storms that crippled thousands of PECO customers also downed my power lines. Mike came over to my house on a freezing, snowey Saturday night and the two of us were able to temporarily restore the power so that I could get the heat and lights back on. Thanks Mike! Other than weather delays the reno. went very smoothly. Mike kept everything on budget, even with me requesting changes to things after the renovation started. He made sure all everything was done to code and handled all paper work. The Quality of his work is second to none, and every day he would clean up after himself.I call that professionalism and now I also call him a friend.

Mike came to my home with his son, Mike. They were punctual, even with snow issues, and very courteous. They both took the time to listen to what I wanted and made some very good suggestions. We discussed a few options and they took some measurements. Because this was in the evening they explained they would return during the day to get exterior measurements, which was no problem. I received a timely estimate that was very detailed and explained everything down to specific details. Mike came within the budget that I had allotted for this project. In the end, after many discussions with my spouse, we decided to hold off on this project. Perhaps moving to a ranch home would be a better option, considering knee issue we have. Had this not been a consideration I would have given the job to Mike. Mike and his son were easy to talk to and explain what I needed.

From the beginning we thoroughly enjoyed working with Mike, his sons and his contractors (plumbing, electrical etc.). They had access to our home the entire time and were very nice and trustworthy going in and out of the house. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure everything was locked up at the end of the day. Besides the price being reasonable, if there were any hiccups in the project, Mike worked with us to A. let us know our options and B. let us know the best price we could get. We were on a tight deadline and Mike was very sensitive to it and made sure the work was completed on time. We threw him a curveball and asked about changing out our kitchen floor with something more modern and he completed that in time as well. Whenever we needed to meet with Mike and his team regarding pricing, issues, points of discussion, he also worked around our schedule for the time. We really enjoyed working with Mike and his team and would definitely recommend and use him in the future! And PS the room looks great and we get so many compliments!

Mike was prompt in coming out to give me an estimate. I had 3 estimates and they were all within $1,000 of each other but I chose Mike as he seemed a bit more experienced. The project went well and was finished within the time period that was promised. This included gutting the entire room & replacing all fixtures, walls, ceiling, flooring & installing exhaust fan. I then replaced 3 of the doors on the 2nd floor as they were old & worn. Mike and crew were prompt and kept me updated throughout the job by email and phone. I wasn't home much of the time & i felt like I could trust them to be in my home during the construction. I felt the price was both fair & honest and I got what I paid for. Thanks to MK remodeling as I love my new bathroom, especially the new tub.
