He may be good, but since he never called back, we'll never know.

John was prompt with his estimate and his price was competitive. He started the work when promised and completed it in a timely manner. He paid attention to detail and the space looked better than I expected when he finished.

Work was done promptly, completely and well. Owner did work and was pollute and professional.

Excellent work done. We called on a Sunday . he returned call in less than 1 hour. I described projects and he set a time to estimate. He arrived on time and walked thru each project and was involved. He made suggestions for ways for us to save money on the project. HE arrived on time to complete the work. Completed it on time and with high quality. replaced bifold doors on laundry room repaired bifold doors in bedroom replaced dead bolt lock repaired sink link patched tile floor that were chipped

I liked him. He was on time. He gave an estimate and it sounded like he was knew what he was talking about. He was supposed to show up at noon on Sunday and he never showed up. I called to confirm that and he said that he thought that I had called to cancel.

I contacted John and asked him to come to my home and give me an estimate for the cost to install vinyl tile in our basement laundry and powder rooms. John arrived on time and measured the area that required tiling. I told him that I was having other work performed first before the tiles could be laid. He understood and told me to give him a call whenever we were ready. After two weeks I called John back and told him my wife and I had selected the tile and we were ready to have it installed. I set up a time and date for John to come out and do the work. John was very accomodating and said he was busy during the week but would come out on Sunday to work on the installation, if that was all right with my wife and I. John arrived early Sunday morning as we agreed and he spent the whole day working on the installation. He had to first remove the old tiles that were glued to the concrete floor before installing the new tiles. There were a number of intricate cuts and pattern matching that John had to contend with before gluing the new tiles in place. The entire process was very time consuming, but at the end of the day he did a very professional looking job that my wife and I were extremely pleased with. Even our neighbors and friends couldn't get over how nice the job looked. Other contractors that I hired came out and told me they thought John did a great job. I thought the price that he quoted was extremely low, for the job that he did, so my wife and I decided to pay him more than what he quoted. I would definitely recommend John to anyone interested in hiring a handyman. As a matter of fact, I have a few more jobs that I will be calling on John to work on.

He was very detailed and considerate. A very good worker!!

Mr. Walters came in and checked my floor, he leveled it with concrete. Then he put doen a vapor barrier and installed a vinyl floor that locked together in plank sizes. He installed it in 2 rooms and a hallway without any type of transitions (transitions were there before), then he put back the quarter round. We are happy with the whole process.

It looks amazing; I get compliments from everyone who enters the house. I had used John on a smaller handyman job in the past. He is always on time, always call me back and takes pride in his work. He always cleans up after his work. I can not say enough about him. He is very uncommon in the world of handymen. If you hire him you will not be sorry.

Called him, came out the next day, diagnosed the problem, hepurchased the needed part, and then installed it and it worked just fine.

I contacted Mr. Walters shortly after joining Angie's List, to request estimates for plumbing and electrical services. We agreed to meet on 11/15/2012. Mr. Walters failed to show for the appointment. I left a message for him after he didn't show. He called back stating that he was very busy with a job, and that he would call me later that evening the reschedule another appointment. The call never came!!

Everything he did was done well, John was always there whenever he said he would and worked very diligently.

I am not around for the work, but he responded very quickly for the work he did for me.

Never heard back after the walk through for the estimate. Didn't even receive a quote for the work.

They kept the work area organized and clean throughout the project. Before installing the laminate he prepared the subfloor by pulling carpet stables / pieces of left over padding and securing the sub floor where needed with screws. Once they had the laminate flooring in place they used sliders under the feet of the appliances to move them so they wouldn't damage the new flooring. They placed plastic sheets under the saw used to cut the laminate to control the dust. I had a bunch of my tools in the apartment as well and they neatly placed them out of the way. John stayed in phone contact as needed to let me know project status and to coordinate the purchase of any material required for the job. John actually picked up some of the material for me to save my time running around to grab stuff. He disassembled the double hung vinyl window so I was able to take just the glass to a local repair shop to have new glass installed which is cheaper than taking the entire sash. After he touched up the drywall with joint compound / sanding he vacuumed up the dust. John is very good at listening and remembering the list of tasks to be accomplished. The good thing is that he has sufficient knowledge / experience to be able to take a brief task description and complete it with an eye for detail without you having to follow up and perform quality assurance on his work. Also, he provides useful tips / hints to make the job go even more smoothly. I had a bathtub with a couple of rust spots around the drain and he recommended touching up the paint versus replacing it due to the amount of effort required to remove the tub. My only suggestion to John would be to provide receipts for any items purchased to the property owner for tax purposes.

He was very helpful - he was very nice. He assisted me on the spot and fixed my ceiling right away. It appeared that a part of my ceiling was about to cave in and he was able to help me. My only complaint was that he seemed to rush a bit - there was a spot that wasn't given very thorough attention to.

The services were performed in both my house and my daughter's house a mile away. Initially two ceiling fans were to be installed and the rooms painted. The painting of the crown molding in two rooms was added to the list as was a problem with a toilet and the outside installation of two lights. John and his colleage are super workers. They get the job done beautifully and clean up when they're done - can't beat it! I would highly recommend John to anyone. He is fairly priced and you most definitely get your money's worth. I contacted John because he was rated highly and had good reviews on Angie's List. He promptly returned my call and came over to give me an estimate within a day or two. His was the lowest estimate of the 3 I received. Since he didn't have deck replacement reviews on Angie's List, I was a little apprehensive about using him. But based on the reviews, I felt fairly confident that he would do a good job and strive to correct problems if any came up. John and his coworker (John) worked for 2 solid days in the blistering heat and returned to finish the stairs in the rain. He charged me exactly what he quoted. I tried to pay him more because the job was more cumbersome than he anticipated due to the way the original deck was built. But he wouldn't accept more than the amount he quoted. The deck looks great and I was extremely impressed and pleased with his work and his professionalism.

I had a pocket door that wouldn't close when the humidity was high, and I thought it would have to have it planed down. John made a minor adjustment to some molding, and now it works perfectly. Instead of "padding" the bill, he usually shows me how I can do it simpler and cheaper. He is a real gentleman, and I highly recommend him!

John was great. He returned my initial phone call within an hour. He even came out on a Sunday to see the job and provide an estimate. He arrived on time was well spoken and personable. He came out that Thursday, opened the wall, inspected the insulation, replaced the section of dry wall. He cleaned the area and brought his own shop vac. John had to return 2 times to sand and apply more spackle to finish the job. Each time he would call to see if I was home and then come over right away. I plan to call John again for any handyman projects that I have. Quality work at more than fair price. Plus he is nice guy. Hard to find that quality anymore.

I had an upstairs bedroom I hadn't touched since I bought my house. It had ugly old paneling and ruined baseboards. I needed fresh walls, new baseboards and crown molding. I also wanted new closet doors that would fold out, we had the old 1950's style sliders. My wife is due in late August, and I wanted to turn the room into a nursery. John Walters offered the best bid of the three Angie's List contractors I called. He arrived for the estimate exactly when he said he would and was very professional and forthright about what he thought the job required. He pointed out that the window frame had been removed to make way for the paneling, and without it I would have no windowsill. He indicated he could replace the woodwork and make the frame just like the one in the adjacent room. Once he saw what the walls looked like behind one of the panels, John recommended putting up new drywall over the old. There was thick glue residue from the paneling and several layers of very old wallpaper below that. John made it clear to me that new drywall would yield a better looking room than trying to repair the old drywall would. I appreciated all this advice; when I hire someone I want not only their best efforts but their expertise. John and his colleague arrived on time every day of the job. They worked about 8 to 4:30 each day. I was so impressed by the quality of the work, I was asking John for quotes on work in my foyer before he had even completed the bedroom. It was all very professional and no-nonsense. They even swept up out front (where they'd cut the molding) before they left! I'll be calling John again.

He said he charges either by the hour and or by the size of the job. He seemed like a great hire. We set up a time and date for him to come out, but he never showed or called.

John did a very nice job. The quality of the work was very good. If a problem arose he tried to make me happy. He was ALWAYS punctual which is much appreciated and easy to reach on his cell phone. I plan on using him again for more projects in the future.

He did a very good job, and I haven't had any problems with the sink so far. He is very nice and went out of his way to help me.
