I spoke with John and scheduled an appointment. I took a half day off work and waited for him and he never showed up. I called him twice to see if he was going to arrive and I didn't even receive the courtesy of a return phone call or an apology for wasting an afternoon waiting for him. Extremely unprofessional.

John did a terrific job, stuck to our schedule, finished promptly, cleaned up thoroughly, and charged a very reasonable price.

I can't say enough good things about John. On time, professional, experienced, and provided me an extremely fair price. I had two other contractors in before him (prior to joining Angie's List) and he was by far the best. I almost don't feel like sharing him with anyone!

The job went very well. He did what he said he would do and it lasted so I'm happy with it. They worked hard, they came on time and it there's something I looked at and I didn't like he'll say "Okay, let me adjust that." He's very accessible, easy to talk to and interested in making sure you'll like the job.

He arrived promptly to give us an estimate. We scheduled a date to do the work. We had to reschedule due to snow. We rescheduled for another date. We spoke the night before and confirmed that he was coming the next day. He never showed up and didn't even call. The weather was ok so that was not an issue.

He's awesome. He was very professional, very timely and very affordable.

HE QUOTED ME A PRICE OF $415.00 AND STATED HE COULD NOT BEGIN THE WORK UNTIL 11/15/13, AND THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO RETURN ON 11/16, AND 11/17 TO COMPLETE THE WORK. I AGREED TO HIS PRICE AND WE BOTH SCHEDULED THE TIME. MR. WALTERS FAILED TO SHOW ON THE 15TH, 16TH, OR 17TH. HE DIDN'T CALL OR EMAIL EITHER. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

John replaced drywall in our house where we had torn down a wall. He got the job done quickly and did a fantastic job. There were many corners and seams so wasn't an easy job, but we just painted this weekend and you cannot see a single drywall seam. We will definitely call John again.

Excellent worker. He is on time and does exactly what you ask him to do. Price is excellent. Quality work.

Contacted John about various items that needed to be fixed. Called me back immediately and seemed interested in the work we have. We set up an appointment for 12PM the following day. He never showed, never called. He made me waste a whole day waiting for him. Seems this is becoming a trend for this guy based on other recent reviews.

He did a lot of different things and he had them completed in an excellet fashion.

I didn't have any bad experiences. It's been well done, he was an excellent handyman, he was very professional, he did an excellent job at the work that he did, he was very helpful. I will definitely recommend him to other people. He was very professional about the way he worked and very punctual, very helpful. I had read on the website that he didn't respond to someone at some point, but I didn't experience that. He was always very quick about scheduling time and always worked around my schedule.

John was on-time, knew exactly what he was doing and how long it would take. Work was completed on schedule, on budget, and the quality was fantastic. There was a secondary issue resulting from poor construction by another contractor, trying to cover up some irregular piping in this old house. John ripped it apart and repaired it at no additional charge. As this is an old house with lots of settling "issues", I will be having him back again!

He quoted a price, arrived when he said he would and completed the job very well.

John asked how we wanted the tile laid out, arrived when he said he would. Finished the job beautifully.

John came to my house on 07-28-2013 and gave me a written estimate for the work I wanted him to accomplish. Approximately a month later I called to turn him on and we agreed to a start date. John was late the first day but called me to advise me of his situation. We agreed on a later start time on the first day and John showed up at the agreed-upon time. John repaired a water soaked piece of drywall (~36" X 32") in my living room. He installed several 2 X 4 nailers to attach the drywall using drywall screws. He additionally taped, spackled and sanded the drywall. He came back two more days to finish the spackling and sanding. The ceiling repair was done in very clean, neat and professional manner. John additionally repaired a settling crack in my laundry room ceiling. John also partially re-grouted (in a professional manner) two shower stalls which had some missing grout due to age of the original tile job. It took him approximately 3 hours to do the regrouting. Overall John was at my house 3 successive days and worked for approximately 9-10 hours to accomplish the repairs. I am very satisfied with his performance.

He never showed up or called for the scheduled work day. He originally was scheduled to come on August 12, 2013 at 9:00AM but called me at 9:30AM to say he was having car trouble. While disappointed that he waited so long to cancel, I certainly understand that things happen. He called me later that day to reschedule for Wednesday morning at 8:00AM. He wasted so much of MY time. I had to clear out the dining room so that he could work easily. I rearranged my and my children's schedules to be available. I stayed home from work on Monday and Wednesday waiting for him. This is so unprofessional and unfortunately adds to the common notion that contractors are unreliable. I should have went with my gut and not hired him when he told me my homeowners insurance would pay for this repair (which is fine) but that he would increase his estimate if I went through the insurance company. That made me very uncomfortable because I felt his price should be his price regardless of my using insurance.
