Richard Noll Painting and Handyman Services

.Richard Noll was professional and thorough. You can't tell that there was ever a problem with the wall now. He kept the work area clean and when he was done, you couldn't tell anyone had been working there. The only blemish was that he was a little late due to traffic.

Called Richard based upon his ratings on Angie's List. He called me back shortly after I left my message. I had discovered that morning that my garbage disposal was leaking. He told me his job for the day was canceled at the last minute, and that if I ran out to buy a garbage disposal he could install it later that day. I also bought a new faucet for the same sink. He installed both in an hour and a half, and since I was a new customer, he took $10 off the charge. So for $77 (which included paying for some parts he had to provide me with) he installed a new garbage disposal and new faucet! I actually felt guilty paying that little for this plumbing work. He did a great job cleaning up and left my kitchen spotless. While he was there, I got him to give me quote to install a new shower door and faucets. I haven't had him back yet to do the work, but plan to.

Mr. Noll took on the task of installing a front door, which he stated he had much experience with. This involved measuring the opening, picking up a standard wood door from Home Depot, cutting it to size, installing it, and then finishing it. When he was done the door was nicely urethaned and looked great. The tenants in this tenant-occupied priperty stated that the door looked great. However, when I inspected it first the door was cut wrong such that there was a greater than 0.75 inch gap at the bottom and around a 0.25 inch gap at the top. - daylight streamed through the gaps at the top and bottom of this completely non-weathertight door. second, of the two locks installed, neither worked with the key from the outside - Mr. Noll had not bothered to check that the keys worked. third, the deadbolt lock required a key to open from the inside - a safety hazard if a quick exit was required. I contacted Mr. Noll who statred he would correct these issues. When I inspected it again, he had corrected the problems with the locks, however the large gaps at the top and bottom remained, and my house was cited as being in violation by the Borough of Norristown due to the non-weatherproof condition of the door. I contacted Mr. Noll again and suggested that rather than buy me a new door to replace r the one he had measured wrong, and thus cut wrong, instead he could cut a wedge and affix it to the bottom. Mr. Noll said that he had done the best he could and he could not do anything further. Sadly, I am afraid he was correct on both points. I then rented a circular saw and cut a 2x4 to size to create a wedge, and framed out the door to seal the gap.

I originally picked this contractor for 2 reasons. He was local and had nothing but good reviews. The contractor that I got was not the same one everyone else got. Not only was the work not done to my satisfaction, we had to finish cleaning up after him once he left. Most of the work discrepancies were not noticed until my wife and I spent a good portion of our weekend cleaning up. While we were do this we noticed the areas where the work was less than satisfactory. The more we looked the more unhappy we were. I have (or will) finish the job. And to insult to injury when he was finished he said he had to charge me an "extra" 1.5 hours because it took longer than he estimated. He never even offered up a reasonable explanation as to why it had taken him longer. In my opinion he committed a cardinal sin of all contractors when he quoted one number and charged another. The scope of the work never changed. It simply took him longer to do the work than originally estimated.I sent him a detailed e mail of everything we found that was not to our satisfaction and he never even had the courtesy of responding. He did say as he left if there was anything wrong to let him know. In retrospect I should have refused to pay the "extra" hours and asked him to come back and fix the things that we were not happy about but at that point we wanted the whole experience behind us. We will never use this contractor again

Never showed up for scheduled appt for estimate and did not call

They were pleasant, focused, under-promised and over-delivered. We would highly recommend their services.

Mr Noll came out, provided an estimate of costs, purchased required materials after deposit, and completed work in a timely fashion

They did a good job, were reasonably priced and came when they said they would.

Richard and his wife were wonderful!!! They showed up on time, were very pleasant and got all of the work done in a timely and professional manner! Best of all, they were half the price of two other estimates that I had. And when I noticed a couple of small things that I wanted take care of, they returned that day and took care of them and were very accomodating. I couldn't be happier!

Richard was punctual, responsive, and very efficient. No charge for estimate! Repaired 3 doors which were not closing properly in 2+ hours. From first call to work completion was less than a week. Would recommend and definitely use Richard again!

No service provided because I did not get a return call

I called two weeks ago and he said he could stop by for an estimate because he was in my neighborhood (Phoenixville) that day. The next day he said he accidentally drove by my house and would come out the next day for the estimate. After that, I called him 3-4 times with no answer. He finally called me back a week later and said he could do the job, but it may take 2 weeks from the day to get the job done. He said he would send me an estimate via email, which he never did. He never got in touch with me over the estimate and once again never showed or called me back. This guy drags his feet and its a waste of time to call him.

Richard did a terrific job! We will call Richard first for any future projects. He was prompt, completed the job on time, and was meticulous when cleaning up. We would highly recommend Richard.

I called twice but never received a call back. He could be excellent, but I will never know.

I had a variety of handyman jobs to do around the house, and Richard was the right man for the job. He provided a very reasonable estimate, showed up for the job on the appointed day right on time, and got right to work. He said the job would take about 3 days to complete, and he was right on schedule, and came in slightly under the estimate! The work is excellent, and I don't have a single complaint about working with Richard or the job he did. In addition, Richard is very, pleasant, very neat, and he took extra care to make sure he left the house and his work areas spotless when he was finished. I have recommended Richard to other folks I know that need painting or handyman work done, and I will definitely be using him in the future for any other work around the house.

i was very disappointed. Richard was highly rated on angies list. I hired him to install three baby gates, hang drapes in one room and fix some kitchen cabinets. He was here for several hours and although he claimed he would be able to finish the entire job, he only got to the baby gates. The gate installation was horrible. He left holes in my walls, damaged my baseboards, and left dirty fingerprints everywhere. Now I need to hire another handyman to fix the gate installation and a painter to fix the walls. He was reasonably priced but considering everything that needs to be fixed now, it will wind up costing me a fortune. He may be fine for some projects, but I wouldn't recommend him.

He did a very good job and also did some extra things. We had a sofa outside to be given away. He covered it on his own without us even knowing about it when it was going to rain. He is scheduled to come out soon.

Richard did a great job--he was punctual, clean, respectful, and had all the materials needed to do the work with him (e.g. a saw, etc). He was committed to making sure the doors worked perfectly, and overall did a great job! I will be getting in touch with him again soon to do the rest of the closet doors for the condo!

He does the work on time but he charges fairly. He is very sincere in telling you "I can do this" or "I can't".

It went quite well. I had all these repair items always on my mind with no time to deal with them and no real expertise. I am so happy to have found Richard Noll as a handyman. He is good and he is reasonable. I can install a faucet, but it takes me 3 hours to do what he can do in 10 minutes. I have used franchise companies in the past like Mr Handyman and Kitchen Makeovers? and after being fleeced by those two I swore never again. Go on Angie's list and find a handyman.

He was in and out in 10 minutes and we could go to our New Year's Eve party as planned. Thanks Richard.

Job went terrific. Richard did everything he said he would do and more. Price was right too. Would definitly add this person to my roladex and refer him.

It went well. Richard's very honest, fair, reliable. Sometime's he's a bit busy and has to cancel at the last minute or doesn't call back right away, but I think that's the case for just about all contractors. I trust him and think he's a good guy.

Richard did an excellent job on all 3 items. Other contractors I contacted would only do 1 or 2 of them. He also painted the trim around the front door, covering where the numbers had been.
