They were very pleasant in their estimate and very cordial. However, their prices were significantly higher then the company we decided to go with.

I cancelled the appointment. The phone numbers the representative called from were 484-482-4805 & 610-874-5000. Please note: The work was never done. (Date work is completed) is N/A
Description of Work: I receive (2) phone calls The first call the representative insisted on wanting to know if I was married, or if I lived at my home alone, and was trying to play a flip flop with his words. Which I never answered (none of their business). Not sure what that had to do with getting the work done. I went ahead and made the appointment. The next day another representive call again to make an appointment again wanted to know if I lived alone. I then cancelled the appointment. Rep. was very annoyed and hung up. They stated that the BBB regulations required them to ask if you are married or lived alone. (If I cannot communicate the estimate to my spouse then no one can!

However, since my wife would not be present they would set a date for an estimate. I repeatedly told them she had no interest in getting the work done but they still wouldn't schedule it without her present. I finally decided to go with another company to do the work.

They provided a free estimate. The quote that they provided however was greatly over priced in comparison to competitors with similar products. They use a tactic of if you don't buy now, if you buy later it will cost you more - it was a very pressured tactic to get you to purchase then and make a decision right away. I decided to go with a different company with a lower price and a better product. They still continue to contact me even after I have let them know I went with another company to get the work done.
Description of Work: They came out to provide a quote for siding for my home in the fall of last year.

Step-1 - I signed a request-for-estimate sheet at a home-improvement expo. Later the company scheduler called to make an appointment for a visit by a salesman. Warning: the sales visit will take 2-3 hours of your time. Be sure to schedule for a day when you have free time. Sales-pitch is heavy on technical specs and demos. Salesman offered special "sign-today" discount. I liked the specs and the quality of the window. The "sign today" price was a little high, but still reasonable. After the sales-pitch, I studied my notes for an hour, and then I signed the contract. Step-2 - The company sent a "measurement man" to measure the windows. Step-3 - Installation. The skilled 2-man crew arrived on time, and they had all the right tools, ladders, etc. They removed 10 old aluminum windows and installed replacements in one day. Another day was needed for insulation, caulking and capping. The crew replaced a decayed wood sill and a couple jack-studs, at no extra cost. Excellant capping work. Interior mouldings were not moved or damaged. The crew disposed of old windows and tear-out debris. Great work overall. Advice to homeowners: remove all furniture, trashcans, etc (indoor and outdoor) from the vicinity of windows, prior to the arrival of work-crew. It makes it easier for the crew to focus their energy on the installation work.
Description of Work: Replaced 9 double-hung windows and 1 single-pane window in old Philadelphia row-house. 6 windows are on 2nd floor.

I made it clear that this estimate should be short. He brought samples, books, etc. and talked A LOT. This would have been fine had I been interested but I was not. He was the last estimate, I knew what I wanted, and he either had it or he didn't. I told him all of this but he didn't listen. He also asked about my credit rating (as did the person who called to confirm the appt) which I indicated was not important to getting an estimate. He went on to talk about financing. I told him that we are not interested in that but he continued. A final negative, when scheduling the appt they insited that both homeowners be present. I noticed that they mostly received As from Angei's List Members and only one person gave them a F. Well here's another one and for the same reason. They are pushy and disrespectful. There is no need to be bullied or scared (saying that I need the more expensive window "in case a pebble hits my window" though I'm 10 yeards back from the street) into using this company. There are many other respectable and respectful companies who will replace your windows.
Description of Work: The salesman came to give me an estimate on replacing windows in my kitchen and living room. He was rude by not listening to my request that this not take a long time. It took me 45 minutes to get him to leave and I'm confident that he would have stayed longer had I let him. The price was about the same as other companies if I took his "today only" discount.

They're a bit pricey. They also pressure you with their salesmanship. It was decent work; I just don't like the price and pressure. The work isn't outstanding, though, and definitely not worth the price. They installed the sidings separately, but that wasn't what we contracted them for. We wanted a combined siding. I caught them on it, and they agreed to just charge me for what we had originally planned.

Power Windows and Siding was invited to our home to give us an estimate for 18 windows. After a very high pressure sales presentation, the salesman offered us a price that was good for today ONLY and after today the price would be $5,000 higher and even higher still after 30 days. The presentation ended rather abruptly when I stated emphatically that NO decision would be made on the spot as we do not sign any contract without other bids. The salesman seemed offended that we wasted HIS time. We would never consider doing business with his firm.
Description of Work: Did not hire Power Windows and Siding as their estimate was $10,000 higher than the firm we did contract with. We did contract with another company and will submit an evaluation upon completion.

My crew was great. I'm very pleased with the work. When getting prices for replacement windows, it's important that the price includes all the trim work. The workmanship was excellent. I had 15 windows replaced and all trim done in a day with 3 installers. The windows are guaranteed for life, including the glass.
Description of Work: I had all 15 windows in my house replaced. First a company rep. came to our house to describe the windows and to write the order. The rep told me that the installers worked for them. I found out later that the work is subbed out. However I think they only have 2 companies that do their work. Second, a company rep came out to measure the window openings. This is a very important step. If it isn't measured properly the installers may have to adjust the opening.

A neighbor was having a new roof installed when a young man knocked at my door. I thought he was from the company doing the work. He asked if I was interested in any outside home improvement work being done as he handed me a booklet. My first mistake was to say yes, we are thinking of replacing our old gutters. When I realized he was not the roofer doing my neighbors work it was too late, the pressure started right there. I ended up with an appointment which my husband and I sat through for an hour. The price started out very high and changed 3 times before the salesman left our house. If we had agreed to sign an agreement on the spot the price was cut in half which is really what the job was worth.

They guy who did the work was good, good workmanship. I still think the windows were overpriced. The guy gave me a sales pitch saying there was a special and if I decided later on it would be more expensive. They are independent contractors. The company makes the windows. We didn't get the whole house done because part of what we want to do is re-modeling is changing the back end of our house. The door is steel, wooden core. The day they were scheduled to come over was right after a storm. They came over. After consulting with the project manager they had to delay because of wind. I have an alley/sideyard between me that causes higher winds. They immediately rescheduled to come out the following Saturday. They came, did the work, ran out of daylight after the doors and windows were in. The crew leader came back the next day to finish the job. We had a problem that was not the fault of the installation. The manufacturer shipped the wrong hardware with the entry door. I called them, project manager came the next day and corrected the issues with the door. He informed us if we had any more problems to call him directly. They back the work and their products. Mark Johnson was the project manager. I'm not sure how to grade the price as I didn't comparison shop.

After many postponements for measurements and installation -- five months from the time the contract was signed until the windows were installed -- the installers arrived on time and worked quickly, cleaned up after themselves, answered all our questions and helped replace the window air conditioners. We had written into our contract that we would receive two extra sets of aluminum screens. Two days before the installation, however, a company representative called to firm up the installation details, which led into his questioning my need for the extra screens as detailed in the contract. After discussing the issue, I agreed to one extra set of screens, which were not delivered until several weeks after the installation.

Nice people but the windows are way overpriced for the quality. The window doesn't do all that they say in the sales pitch. It doesn't stay up - from the top of the window. It's drafty too. I will probably have to have it replaced in the near future.

The workers were very good. I was disappointed in the people at the office. There was some trouble with scheduling and getting permits. They did not let me know when they were coming. They came three times because there was no permit and they had not filed for one. Then they didn't have enough supplies. The office did not respond to my concerns. The workers were great and they took a little off the bill because of the trouble.

We were very pleased with the quality of the work. We have talked about using them again for other projects. There was a language barrier with the workers, but it wasn't a big problem because they seemed to know exactly what they were doing, and did it well. The only problem we experienced was with the locking mechanism on on window. I called and they were very accommodating to my schedule, and luckily that meant having a guy out that Monday. The fix only lasted a short time, and I plan to call them back again. I expect it to be repaired or replaced, depending on the situation.

When I contacted this company it was for their ad about doors. However, when the salesman came he said they did not do doors anymore. I then began negotiating about siding. If you don't know to ask for discounts for them advertising in front of your house, the amounts they quote can get outrageous. I did a lot of haggling to come up with a decent price; but I wish I had shopped around more. The sub-contractors they use to put up the siding did an excellent job. I would hire these guys separate from power windows any day.

They promised us that some people will come over measure our windows and give us an estimate, 1 hour of our time, tops. Instead one man came over and did a sales pitch, showing us ads from other companies shined a light through different examples glass from the competition, etc. After an hour and a half, he finally started measuring the windows, he didn't accurately measure any window. Then there was another sales pitch, followed by 3 different estimates, one price for agreeing to the job on the spot, $13,000 one price for agreeing to the job within a month, $17,000 and another price for agreeing to the job within a year $22,000. Then they insisted on telling me I can finance it and tried to convince me that I can afford another bill at $200 plus a month plus high interest. For a cheap looking product and the tricky way they got a sales guy in our house I don't like the company. If they make false promises about getting an estimate, how can you trust anything else they promise.

They completely scammed me, I would never use them again. The salesman sold me saying that engineers would be coming over to do the measurements and then they will be professionally installed. The work was done poorly. They dropped a window, scratching it and the vinyl, and installed it anyway. That was in May. They finally finished the work today (9/1) by replacing the sash. They also scratched my newly painted walls in the process and are refusing to compensate me of fix that. I have been given plenty of runaround, including being told at first that they would not replace the scratched glass because the scratch was not in the "center circle" of the window. Last I checked the window is rectangular not circular. An absolute disgrace - I will never use them or recommend them to anyone.
