Process was very professional from start to finish. When the installers were done, I couldn't even tell they were there and the new windows looked great.
Description of Work: installed 4 new windows and a slider to the back porch. Very pleased with the whole process from the initial visit from the salesperson to the install of the new windows and doors. I plan to use Power windows to replace the rest of the windows in my house.

It was a bad experience. They did a very poor job of installation though they are or seem to be master installers. They bent the gutters and they installed the solar fans on the roof and they didn't check if it was working. My husband had to go up and fix it and they came back. When they left the place it was pouring rain and they finished doing the installation. They hustled off because it was one of those days where it was raining and they didn't come back until we complained. They hadn't finished and they were supposed to spray paint the vent pipes and stuff like that on the roof. They started to paint them while it was raining and my husband asked them to stop because it wouldn't stick as it was raining and wet. They left him the paint and the project manager and some others came back and looked at it and talked about his unhappiness. We asked them not to come back because we were very unhappy with the way they do work. We are trying to fix the things we are unhappy about. They are high priced and I would certainly not recommend them to anybody as they didn't do a good job. The price is really high. The quality of materials that they used was good but the quality of workmanship was bad. They got here on time and they left here speedily and they didn't get back to us until we complained. My husband was there while they were doing the job and he was very specific of what he wanted and those very things didn't happen. The project manager was there and he asked him more than once and he reassured us but it didn't happen. It was not a good experience.
Description of Work: I used the service of Power Home Remodeling Group to put a new roof a couple of weeks ago.

Member, Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback. First and foremost, allow me to apologize for the negative experience you had with our company. No single person is perfect - and being a company comprised of individuals, from time to time we make mistakes. Member. - know that you have a transferable, lifetime warranty for both labor and materials and that we will be happy to work with you in order to resolve your complaints. At the end of the day, we want our customers to enjoy their remodeling experience, and to feel as if they got superior products for a reasonable price. Power windows called us three times on the day of the estimate to confirm the appointment, which then took three hours. The presentation was very informative, and the price was better than other estimates we'd had, so we were willing to sign right there, which was good because the price was "only good for that evening", and would be three thousand more the next day. The window measurement was fine (a few days later) and the installation was good. The installers were very neat and clean, and everything went well. Just as they're leaving the "Job Supervisor" drives up, and tells us that our gutters are not in great shape (which was true), and wouldn't leave until he had heard his 40 minute spiel about the new gutters we could get. The gutters also had a special deal that was only available if we signed that evening. Finally, the installers and the supervisor are gone, and we've enjoyed the new windows for the last year. Our electric bill is down 20%, and the reduction in outside noise is just amazing. Couldn't be happier with the windows. However, we're still receiving calls from Power windows. Over a year later, and despite my telling them that we've replaced the windows, and THEY DID IT, they still call occasionally asking if we'd like an estimate on our window replacement. The price and the quality are good, but I would never recommend Power windows due to their ridiculous high-pressure sales tactics.
Description of Work: Replaced six giant windows in the house and a sliding glass door. Four windows were on the second floor.

Member, Thanks for taking the time to leave us some feedback. I'm thrilled to hear that you've enjoyed the quality of our products and services. In regards to your remarks about still receiving phone calls from Power - yes, member, we occasionally call our past customers for a numbers of reasons. As you can imagine, previous customers who have experienced the level of quality and professionalism we offer are fantastic advocates of our business - typically, they're also repeat customers, as they're well aware of the quality they're purchasing and the integrity of our practices. We were simply checking in with you, Mr. Walker, to see if you had any other remodeling needs and to remind you of our ever growing catalog of products and services. After all - once you find a contractor who does quality work and exhibits professionalism, you're more likely to do business with them in the future. If you'd like, I can remove your information from our system so that you will not receive anymore calls - the last thing we'd want is for a customer to feel overwhelmed. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly in order to discuss the matter further. Yours in Service, Ray Lodato Customer Care Manager Power Home Remodeling Group 610-874-5000 x 2260

We learned a lot during the estimate and the energy efficiency of the windows was clearly demonstrated in an easy to understand manner. We saw a dramatic decrease in energy usage after installation of the windows. We were so pleased with our windows that we didn't consider any other contractor when considering covering the trim on our house. We were not disappointed the second time around either! Note that we did have two (of the 19) windows that were replaced at no charge one year after installation. One of those windows had always been an awkward fit (even prior to the installation of these windows), however the company was adamant that it be replaced and absolutely perfect. The quality of service was the same for the scheduling of those window replacements as it was for the original installation -- very timely, polite, and considerate of our needs.
Description of Work: 19 windows replaced in January of 2009 ($13,000) and all wood trim on house capped in August of 2011 ($8,400). Very professional organization. We will use them again if we need any additional work done! Work men were well mannered, cleaned up after themselves and did not harm any of the extensive shrubbery or flowers around the house. All work was professionally performed with any comments on our part immediately addressed.

It started with a knock on the door. We scheduled an appointment for a free estimate. This estimate took us 4 1/2 hours after discussing the dynamics of the windows and how much better the service and price were compared to companes like Anderson, Pella, etc. A project manager appointment was set up for a review of the measurements. The project manager discussed what needed to be cleared away from the front of the windows and how the window would be taken out. Then an installation appointment was arranged. In the initial discussion, we were told three men would be coming, but on the installation day only one showed up. I called our project manager who spoke to the installer and then apologized for the misinformation we had received. Our installer did a great job and arrived 15 minutes early. He placed coverings down on the floor and they collected the extra debris. He checked the wood surrounding the old windows before installing the new ones. Luckily all our wood was in good condition. Our installer worked through the day without a lunch brake but got the job completed amazingly enough by 5 pm.

The sales feature I liked best was "no money up-front". The work was done in a timely manner and clean-up was exceptional. The company offered products which had excellent energy savings features and did not try to sell unneeded products. They were very helpful and careful in my house and considered my health and comfort needs. They helped me keep cost down and worked within my budget.
Description of Work: Evaluated the functionality of my house's windows. Offered to replace windows with broken seals. Did not insist on replacing other windows. Negotiated price, service options and installation date. Scheduled service and kept appointment. Replaced windows and did a full cleanup and disposal of old windows. Moved and replaced furniture, blinds and draperies. Manager came to inspect the finished job.

And waited, and waited. He never showed up, never called. So, at 7 PM we put a note on the door telling him not to bother us. I also gave feedback to their website telling them what happened - with no response from them. After reading similar comments about this company, I believe the door-to-door is probably a scam without credibility (never saw a truck in the neighborhood performing work as he said) and the fact that the salesman neither showed nor called was a blessing in disguise. Find someone else, get a few estimates.
Description of Work: Same song as other reviewers - they were doing work in the neighborhood. Mrs. "Smith" or "Jones" down the block was having them replace her windows and the (young college age) guy's supervisor thought it would be nice to give all the homeowners in the neighborhood a chance to get a no obligation, free estimate. Don't know all the neighbors in a 3 block radius but as it turned out, Mrs. "Smith" was probably a sales pitch. I have been interested in getting a price for our 22 windows that are now 14 years old. The door-to-door guy wouldn't easily take no for an answer and told me that the estimate was good forever - if I didn't want to get the windows now - but 5 years from now - the estimate and price would still be honored. This guy was always commenting on how "super" it was that we owned our home for 14 years and it was "awesome" that my wife would be at the estimate which could take as short as 15 minutes to complete by a salesperson who was no-pressure/no hype. It was way over-the-top, even if he had been a used car salesman. After talking with him, I had to talk with a phone center person, repeating all the same information again. Very annoying but, if it is designed to avoid confusion, I got through it. So.....although it sounded too good to be true, it was a free estimate with a LIFETIME price guarantee. And, it would take only 15 minutes of assured no-pressure sales to complete! Wow! Why not? Made an appointment for 6:30 PM the next night. Received a call from their automated telephone service confirming the appointment and we waited for the salesperson.

Member, Thanks for taking the time out to leave us feedback. Clearly I was concerned after reading your review, so I investigated your file within our system in order to gain a better understanding of what happened so that I could assist you. Our files show that on that evening of your appointment, you did indeed receive a call from our automated telephone service - however, the message you received requested that you call us back in order to confirm the appointment. We do this because, in our experience, life often throws curveballs at customers that they may not expect - so as a courtesy to our customers, we call to confirm on the night of the appointment in order to ensure that all parties will be available at the scheduled time. We've also found that, more often than not, when we don't confirm appointments on the night of, customers often forget or have something pop-up that may interfere with the scheduled appointment. We've found that this confirmation method works best for ensuring a pleasant remodeling experience. Because we did not receive a phone call back to confirm, we postponed your appointment until a later date. For that miscommunication, we apologize. In regards to your claim about work being done in your neighborhood being a "scam" or part of a sales pitch, I can assure you that couldn't be farther from the truth. In fact, when you interacted with our representative at your doorstep, there was a project underway on Butterfly Lane, which is literally a block or two away from your residence. Please feel free to read the reviews of those who have contracted our company to do work - those who have seen the process through to fruition are almost uniformly ecstatic with the quality of the work and the professionalism of our company. Those few cases in which mistakes were made are taken very seriously and are remedied as fast as possible - we do, after all, offer a lifetime labor warranty and a lifetime manufacturer's warranty in order to back this up. I'm sorry your experience with our company was a negative one - however, if there's anything I can do for you in the future - or if you'd like to give our company another chance to win you over with the quality of our work - please do not hesitate to contact me directly. The sales pitch would be my only complaint. It went on for hours; by far the worst part of the experience as it is way overdone and you are left on the spot. I had other estimates prior so I knew what range I was looking at beforehand. The pricing we received was competitive though slightly on the high side. I was very pleased with the install crew; they arrived on time, started working immediately, were very quick and the quality is excellent. They did damage one small area of fascia which I did not see right away; I will be contacting them about this and will update my review depending on the level of service received getting this repaired.

On the morning of the proposed meeting I received a call asking how many windows I wanted to replace. I told them the casement window in the bathroom needed to be replaced and that I was not interested in replacing the other windows. I was then told that the "Free estimate" was only for jobs with 4 or more windows. An irritating waste of time. Obviously, having 4 windows to replace was an obligation on my part to get the "Free Estimate."
Description of Work: On Tuesday evening a representative of Power Home Remodeling Group came to my home. They offered me a "Free NO OBLIGATION Estimate." The company was "doing a number of jobs in this development because the original windows were not holding up well." I told them that I only needed a double casement window replaced. This was ok because they were in the area anyway. I set up a meeting the next day. I was called that evening. I confirmed the time and date of the meeting.

Overall the sales pitch started to feel like a high pressure used car salesman. Loved the products. Not a fan of the pressure. However, we loved the product enough that we felt like we would miss out on a great opportunity to SAVE if we didn't! I would recommend these guys to anyone who likes top quality work and products, but doesn't have a local contractor who can offer what you need. ...just be sure you have already checked out the other guys and are ready to "buy today".
Description of Work: We contacted them to come out and quote on a job. Their first guy, despite multiple confirmations never made it to our house (not sure why he never made it, kept leaving the toll free number to call back to, and not a direct cell number, but I doubt it was because he was lost or ran out of time, because he never hinted at that in the voicemails...) fortunately, they called us the next morning and had a sales guy out that same night. He had great products, and really sold us on the quality of the materials they use. We loved the products, but then came the bad part. He offered a price (which we thought was a bit high), but then another price that was only good while he was still there. Apparently, the Efficiency Pricing is offered as an incentive for us to buy without them making multiple sales calls (which I get, because it would just add to their cost of business). However, it was so much lower, that we almost felt like we had to say yes or would lose out on a potentially huge savings.

The intial contact turned out well and was very informative, but as other have said the process was lengthy. However, to be fair the process needed to take time because there was a lot to discuss and go over. We ended up deciding to have our front window replaced as a way of feeling out the company and their work. The front window was original from 1960 and consisted of single pane glass and aluminum. It is aproximately 6 feet high and 10 feet wide. The replacement window is a collaboration of a huge center picture window, 2 casement windows, and 2 awning windows. The cost of the windows was a little high, but the quality of the work turned out great. We signed to have the work done on the intial visit because they offer a discount if they do not have to come back for a second estimate. My suggestion would be to first have other companies provide estimates and then schedule the estimate for this company so you already have an idea of what other companies are offerring. Be prepared to have to make a decision on the spot if you want to get the best deal from this company. The only problem we had was the installer were late for the appointment because of a broken down truck. We understand that things happen, but the problem was that nobody called to let us know. It took about 3 or 4 calls to determine when they would arrive. Once the installers were here they moved quickly and took care to protect the floors and any surrounding furniture. They were professional and courteous, and all spoke perfect english. The end result turned out just as we had hoped and we plan to use them again in the future.

I thought the man was very nice but he didn’t listen to us when we told him that we needed to keep it short. It took two hours despite many protests that we needed to wrap it up. I think it is a hard sell; he offered us a quote but we would have to sign off on it that moment. We don’t accept that kind of treatment so we did not accept his quote. Plus, his price was $10,000 higher than the quote that won; it was basically double.

Rep on the phone wouldn't accept my answer. Very frustrating!
Description of Work: A representative came to our door Friday evening, he was very nice so I agreed to set up an estimate appt. He called in to his office to have them schedule a time for a free estimate for the next day. I indicated to the rep on the phone that Saturdays are usually busy for us so we wanted to make sure that the estimate wouldn't run past 1.5hrs, he kept saying that things might happen so if it was ok to have the estimate run a little longer. I said no, as I had some place to be but we could schedule for another time if it helped.. He was pushy on the phone, called back after 8:30pm to confirm, I missed his call, so I called back in the morning and again, he was very pushy about having me set out 2hours for the estimate, which I thought it was way to much. It was frustrating to speak with him and have that back in forth argument so I cancel the estimate all together. If it was this complicated to set up an appointment for a reasonable amount of time, I didn't want to take a chance and have them come to do the work.

On this particular Friday afternoon a salesperson from Power came to our door. He said they were doing work in our neighborhood. I usually ignore cold-call salespeople, but I knew the neighbors whose roof was being replaced, and I trust their opinion. Since we need a new roof in the next few months, I asked them to do a free estimate. The salesperson then called his supervisor, who said they had an opening that night. I would have been just fine waiting until the following week, but I agreed. In the intervening 4 hours Power called both my home phone and my cell phone to confirm the appointment. The estimator/salesperson arrived early to the evening appointment. He did seem thorough and went up into the attic to check for any wood damage there. We sat through the presentation with props and a binder full of info. Power does seem to use high-quality products and installs only 50-year roofs, which is what we wanted. The whole process took about 2 hours, and there was definitely pressure to sign a contact right then. The price would be $8000 higher if we did not sign that evening. Even that lower price seemed very high, and we hadn't had other estimates yet, so we declined.

It went great. They arrived at 9 AM and left at 7:30 PM. Neat, clean, nice and professional. The saleman was very nice and the project manager was very nice. The windows were a bit expensive but at the completion of the job and with the lifetime warranty, I am very satisfied and happy that I went with Power Windows.
Description of Work: Replaced all the windows in the house (15) in one day. There was one misunderstanding that was handled graciously and professionally to my complete satisfaction. The word was done quickly, neatly and professionally The windows were more expensive than others but are warranteed for my lifetime in this house and for the lifetime of the subsequent owner of this house ( a definite selling point). Thirteen are vinyl sliders (that open to both sides) with double pane low-E glass and screens; one is octagonal (stationary) and one is a picture windom (stationary). The outside aluminum trim was done beautifully. The inside trim was not disturbed. They were some of the neatest, cleanest and nicest workman that I've ever had in this house. I highly recommend them.

They were exceptional in service. The crew of people who installed the windows took off the sticker which was on the window sill and stuck it on the wall, and that left a mark on the wall. That removed some of the paint. So the two people who were the installers called their people and took the hatch with them. They bought some paint and hatched the wall. They put on three coats of paint which was a perfect match. They did the other parts of the wall which were bad and for which they were not responsible for. They still did the other parts of the wall as well, so that the wall looked good. I would use their services again in the future.

I absolutely love them! They were true perfectionist. I didn’t have to pay 1 penny until I was completely satisfied with the job. No down payment, nothing. I was amazed! It was such a hot period of time and they crew worked long every day. They made sure I was completely happy with aspects of the project. It was absolutely perfect before I paid 1 cent. They framed it beautifully and matched the color of the other siding to a T. Most people can’t believe it’s the same house! The project manager, John was very easy to get ahold of as well. He would return calls right away and even provided his home number!

Power Windows and Siding came to our home to give us an estimate on windows at 6pm on a Friday evening. The representative was nice but would not stop explaining, comparing, demonstrating, etc. for another four hours. We finally signed a contract after being assured we could cancel it within three days. The next morning we came to our senses and checked reports at the BBB. We decided to cancel the contract, called the company, then drove the cancellation papers to the company offices to be sure they received them in time. But that was not enough. A supervisor had to come to our house, give another speech, tell us how the original representative must have done a bad job, etc. We finally got the contract cancelled, but this was an ordeal I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. This was hard sell at its worst.

Their efficiency really struck me. At the same time, they were very professional and careful in their work. Everything was finished in one day.

The actual job went perfectly fine, but we had an issue with the salesperson. He stayed at our home far too long, which was a little annoying.
Description of Work: They installed two windows for us.

So far, so good. The work was expensive, but my roof is a combination of flat and peak.

Power windows put in windows in a neighbors house and pressured us to get service too. The salesman came over to our house and we could not get him to leave. It was a very uncomfortable experience and they tried to pressure us to sign a contract before they left. Not a pleasant experience...I'm glad we did not sign with them.
Description of Work: No services...only salesman who would not take no for an answer.
