They came early and got right to work. A great group of guys to work on my house. The foreman made a trip to the store to buy wood for the trim on the inside. This was not included in the price. Just nice guys doing something nice. They worked hard and completed the job in one day. I was so impressed with this company that I am having them come back out and do some more work for me.The workers were very nice , even made sure my dog didn't get out of the yard. I could not thank them enough for a job well done.

From the beginning to the end of our experience with this company we were impressed. Everyone with whom we dealt was professional and courteous. The work was done swiftly and expertly. The clean up on both jobs was great.
Description of Work: Had 8 windows replaced on second floor in September, 2012 and new siding installed on October 16, 2012. Installers showed up promptly for windows. Received phone call on morning of siding installation to inform us they were running late and since rain was predicted, they would not come if it started. However, they arrived promptly the next morning and worked late into early evening to complete job.

Recieved phone call from project manager morning of instal gave time to expect workers. Workers arrived earlier got right to work. They were polite & professional , job went quickly they did clean up but I have to clean again they just missed a little scrapings not a problem. Project manager did arrive in afternoon , job had been compleated a few hours earlier and he noticed a slight problem with one of the screens. I had not noticed it yet, he stated it will be taken care of tomorrow, don't know if it will I will wait and see. The sales person did apply some verbal pressure to get job signed up for @ time of visit for a better price but I did sign that day because I had some previous estimates that were higher a few months earlier.

The salesman arrived approximately 15 minutes late. At the beginning of the appointment I stressed that this was just a starting point for me and that I was not prepared to "sign anything" at this date. The salesman had good knowledge of the product, however, the appointment just kept dragging on and on. Several times, I stated that I was "done" and needed to eat dinner etc. HE JUST WOULD NOT LEAVE!!!! This went on for over another hour after I had asked him to leave. He kept stating that he just wanted to help me and could not leave without knowing he had explained everything to the point that I simply could not decline. He suggested several times that I was not understanding what he was saying, and, inferred I would be stupid for not taking the offer. The price quoted was only good at that moment and as soon as he walked off the property, the price would increase. He also stated several times that he knew if he left, I would buy from another company. I thought this was one of the worst sales pitches I had ever experienced. I was getting angrier by the minute, and becoming confrontational......all I wanted was for him to leave my house and he WOULD NOT GO. I had stood up and been holding the door open for the last 30 -45 minutes. I was actually beginning to think I might have to dial 911 to get him out of my house. When he finally left (almost 3 hrs after the scheduled appt. time, I was so angry that I would never consider working with this company. I I subsequently went online and found MANY reviews for this company with similiar experiences. In some cases the estimate appointments went 4-6 hours. They seem to think the way to sell their services is to brainwash the public into signing to get them to leave.
Description of Work: Following a radio advertisement on a local station with a $50,000 remodeling prize, I contacted Power Remodeling for a roof estimate.

The entire phase of the job went well. The crew that came to my house was there when they said they would be there and they were friendly and courteous. All throughout the job, they worked meticulously and were very detailed oriented. If they needed my input on something they did not hesitate to ask me. They kept the inside and outside of my house relatively neat while they worked (often making sure that debris was taken away and areas vacuumed). A supervisor stopped by while they working to ask if I was happy with all that was going on and I told him I was. Everyone I came in contact with that day was pleasant and making sure that I was happy with the job being done. Once the crew was finished, they showed me how to operate my window and explained the warranty to me. Every area they had worked in was cleaned up. The bay window is beautiful! I would not hesitate to have this crew come back and do work on my house! I will continue to look at Power Home Remodeling for future home improvement projects.
Description of Work: They replaced my front windows with a bay window. Also, I had 3 sets of shutters in front replaced.

We really needed our windows replaced. The house was built in 1929 and all the windows were original. A power rep came to our door and set up an appointment with a salesman. The salesman came on time and was extremely knowledgeable. I'm sorry I can't remember his name. We set the work to be done over the course of 2 days. And that is exactly how long it took. Charlie came to the house on time and did an amazing job. I am so happy I went with power the company is professional and I felt my house was in good hands. My house looks amazing and it is so quiet now!

I had the windows done at 3 different times. The ones they did on the first floor were excellent. The ones upstairs were not as excellent. They had to take out metal frames and replace them with another frame on all the windows. I called them repeatedly, because the frames look terrible upstairs. One window in the bedroom is the same size in my kitchen. The one upstairs has random pieces of wood in it. I asked why this one couldn't look as great as the one downstairs. They told me to paint them, instead of them coming out and replacing it. The caulking around the window in the bathroom looks shredded. The windows did not look right from the beginning, after the job. I thought I was being picky, but after time it just looks bad. I've tried to call them up to see if they could do anything, and all they have told me is to paint around what's been done.

The salesman was at our house for 4 hours - so yes, they are persistent. He did convince us we needed a roof NOW! The project managers conceded that it could have waited, but it was a good idea to get it done, so we feel pretty good about the purchase overall. The employees and onsite project manager were all very professional, on time (actually early) and finished in one day. The roof is beautiful - it's only 2 hours old, so I can't say anything else about it, yet. We probably chose the most expensive roof around, but the 50-year warranty was a huge selling point - let's just hope the company is still around in 50 years, but it is still better than our 15 year roof that lasted 13 years. I have not had any problems getting through to the company, I had to reschedule the appointment once and it was quick and easy. We have a front porch light that is not working since they removed and replaced it, so I will have to call and get that straightened out- hoping the bulb just broke in the movement. If not, then I hope they respond as professionally as in other aspects.

It is not a good sign when the first interaction with a company begins with a lie. This was a door-to-door interaction, where a free, no-obligation quote was offered for roof replacement. The original door-to-door guy said: "Maybe you could get the quote done in a half an hour. That would be unusual. Most people need about an hour." To fast forward to the end of the story, the actual quote process took nearly FOUR hours. And I agree with the sales person that there is no way the process could have taken just a single hour. Of course, there is a good reason why they tell you one hour, when they know darn well it will take much more time. Who has time for that on a busy school-day evening? The meeting with the sales person involved measuring the house as well as an examination of the roof from the yard looking up and from inside the attic. He had a nice presentation on an iPad, and had a small mock-up of the company's roofing system product. I would say that the company is big, successful, and offers an impressive warranty (50 years on the product AND the labor). The product itself sure seems like a top of the line option. No complaints there. The product probably is entitled to a price premium. It's pretty spiffy. But it took him forever to actually give us a price. For a 1850 square foot roof, the quote was about $20k, valid for one year. That includes the roofing, installation, and a limited amount (300 square feet) of decking replacement, as needed. Or, if I agreed during his visit, it would be about $17k and change. I said no. Well, if I allowed them to take before and after photos, then the price would go down to (I forget exactly) maybe $15k and change. I said no. Well, if you take a survey, then you get another discount. The price went down to $13k and change! So, going from $20k down to $13k. At this point, I had absolutely no idea what should be a fair price. I told him I wanted a second opinion on the status of the roof and that I could not take his offer that night. He persisted for at least another half hour with various life stories, anecdotes, and world wisdom. (Meanwhile, my wife and kids were trying to get ready for bed -- this increased the level of tension in the house.) Finally, when I got him to the door, he seemed quite dejected. The sales rep was a nice guy. I have no problem with him, or the product. I just do not like the pressure tactics used to get the today-only price. I learned my lesson. I will never do door-to-door sales again. Just give me a price, and let me think about it. My advice if you do go with a door-to-door sale: have one spouse/significant other/grandpa/whatever stay in the wings -- making dinner, doing homework with the kids, having an important "phone call" with Aunt Sally on the west coast, whatever. That person is insulated from the sales tactics, and he/she can do research on the internet, or just be a sounding board for what is a very big decision involving a lot of money. Our sales guy kept saying "your wife should have been here listening to the presentation." That's what he wants. That's not necessarily what you want. I give an overall "C" grade because the product seems sound, but I did not like the sales tactics of the company.
Description of Work: This was for a "free, no obligation quote." No services were performed. Perhaps a few disservices were, though.... I did not think I needed a new roof yet, but I was curious how much it might cost. I had the impression from the guy knocking on the door that the quote would have an extended life -- maybe it would be good for years. That was probably my misunderstanding (I can't be sure), but the quote would be only good for one year. But see the rest of the story below.

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a contracting company. High pressure, would not take 'no' for an answer, and I could not get the sales rep. out of my house after 2 1/2 hours. Also, they provided the highest estimate by far of 8 estimates I received for my root; over 3 times the price of other estimates. The company employs high pressured sales tactics, is rude, and disrespectful of potential customers. Power Home Remodeling Group will never get any work from me, and will never set foot in my home again. Suggest you pass on Power HRG... someone has to pay for all their overhead and advertising, and they want that someone to be you. The company is not cost competitive.
Description of Work: I was appproached by a 'cold call' knock at my front door this past weekend, and agreed to allow Power Home Remodeling Group to provide an estimate for a new roof. They arrived last evening to provide estimate.

Member, Thanks for taking the time to leave us some feedback. In your review, you mentioned the discrepancy in price between the price for our roofing system and the price your local contractors quoted for your roof. Please understand that - in home remodeling, as in everday life - there can be a wide discrepancy in the quality of products and installation techniques, not to mention the strength of the warranty and its respective service division. Our roofing system utilizes only the best materials installed by technicians who are all certified by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association - if you'd like to learn more about the difference that makes for your home in the long and short term, please feel free to visit this YouTube video in which we thoroughly explain all that goes into a Power roof: youtube.com/watch?v=lGCpockguM0&list=UUrK7WrxsBnkzrRHidORUFqw&index=0&feature=plcp Furthermore, our roofing system also comes with a 50-year transferable warranty that is backed by a dedicated warranty service division that will service your product - free of charge - whenever there is an applicable issue. We offer this type of peace of mind to our customers in order to deliver on a different type of remodeling experience than what is typically expected. When you choose Power, you choose products and service that you can trust and rely on. If a mistake is made, know that we'll do whatever we can to fix it on the warranty service end in order to make you happy. All of this - obviously - is built into the price, and results in a product and service that most contractors simply can not offer. There are plenty of contractors available who will do the job for less - but none that will service you better. If you'd like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me personally. The actual roof and gutters they installed 5 STARS all the way! the crews they sent to my home 4.5 STARS as well. Professional, courteous, well mannered, men who did a great job. BUT The tarps they hung to protect our yard and house were very beat up and had lots of holes. I am still finding roof debris and nails around 4 months later. The reason they get a lower rating is the stuff that comes before the installation... Our appointment was for the early afternoon. I was outside playing with my kids and they never showed. When I called in they said I didn't answer my phone so they didn't come. No biggie, the came 2 hours later. Our salesperson was very nice and had a nice presentation full of information- but boy was it long! I have 3 kids that were totally unsupervised from 4 to 5 while I listened... then I had to pause to make dinner while the salesperson took measurements. We were back on track by 5:30 and along the negotiations went until well after 7:30. Again my kids were on their own this whole time! My kids go to bed at 8 and my hubby was saying good bye to the salesperson while I got the kids in their beds. It was a long process to say the least. We were happy with our choice of company until we got the call from the guys who come out and measure the roof to order the supplies. They said we had chosen a color of roof shingles that I did not choose. In the 4 hours we were negotiating, color came up once and all I said was I wanted a blue grey- we did not see sample colors nor decide on a color. When they came out to measure they brought me samples and I choose the one I wanted. I was warned that the color I chose was not one they kept in the warehouse, and I may have to pay more for it. I told them if it cost more I would go with my second choice, but I wasn't happy about it. After a phone call they got me the color I wanted for no extra costt. They came on the predetermined day and started the work on time. Everything was going well and we were happy with most everything. The salesperson told us it was a one day job, but the installers told us it would take 2 days. Again no biggie, but inconsistent with what we were sold on. All the wood under the old shingles needed to be replaced. We knew this from the get-go and negotiated a price based on this fact. In the contact is a part about the cost of extra wood if needed (they are prepared to replace up to 300 square feet in a standard contract) we didn't sign off on that bit b/c we knew it ALL needed to be replaced. The salesperson's price was supposed to be based on this fact. BUT someone called and said to my husband that we owed $850 more for the extra wood. When my husband told him that wasn't our agreement the agent argued with him. Ultimately, we asked to speak to our salesperson. There was a bit of back and forth and many phone calls were made/received. After all was said and done, my understanding is that the salesperson measured incorrectly & based the price on that number. I flat out refused to re-negotiate because At this point I had no roof on my house and no leverage to negotiate & in the end we payed only the balance of our original contract. That portion of the whole experience was very stressful. Also, no one ever called us back in the end to say "OK, you don't owe us any more money". I kept waiting to get a bill in the mail from them. The salesperson or his supervisor should have followed up with us. Again, let me stress, they do great work! Our roof is very nice. They put extra stuff between the wood and the shingles and the shingles are the highest quality. You might be able to get a cheaper roof, but thats just what you'll get, a cheaper roof. 4 months later- WE HAVE A LEAK! The flashing around one of the chimney pipes is not properly installed and water has been leaking down the chimney pipe into our house! I didn't discover it until we had 24 hours of extremely hard rain. It was a Sunday night (not open) and I called them on Monday morning. They told me they cannot send anyone out for 17 days! at this point I AM VERY UNHAPPY! aside from the hoops we had to jump through during installation & the nails and roof debris I still find around the yard I have a leak coming in at my chimney and they will not come to even look at it for 17 days. UN-EXCEPTABLE! It is supposed to rain all week. Guess I am SOL! Thanks for the the water damage Power Home Remodeling Group! I posted a scathing review on Yelp, and emailed the company's owner and someone calls me to say that an apt. opened up and they are sending someone immediately. An extremely nice man came and fixed a bit of flashing around the vent pipe- it literally took 5 minutes. He also fixed a bit of siding that he noticed had slipped a bit out of place. Again, I cannot say enough nice things about the employees. Everyone was great. It was the sales person that ruined this experence for us. He made the mistake in measuring. He assured me we would not have to pay extra day of, that the estimate was the price. He told us how long it would take to install. He choose the color shingle w/o consulting us. All wrong. The roof and gutters are good. aside from one tiny bit of flashing that needed adjusting. But they fixed it at no cost. I just don't like having to complain to get the service I was promised.

Their gutter work was okay, although they never filled the holes in the siding from securing straps for the old downspouts like they were supposed to do so I will do that myself. Additionally their foreman showed me that to prevent the rotting problem on my front porch in the future, they needed to drill some holes in a trim piece of my old siding. The crew doing the job had limited English language skills and instead they drilled the holes in the new wood that they installed which did nothing that would stop the problem. I ended up drilling the proper weep holes myself. Now, as for the original roofing job, it turned out their price was almost triple (yes, triple) that of other roofers. PowerHRG is a very high pressure sales organization and once they get in your home they will spend hours wearing you down until you sign up with them. Be aware of this and act appropriately. I would myself never again hire them to do any work. I shouldn't have signed in the first place (I paniced when I saw black mold in the attic and wanted fast action to fix that issue) and was fortunate to be able to get out of the contract by renegotiating after I told them about my financial issues. I would not have even had them do the work done but the salesman made it clear if we didn't renegotiate then they would start legal action to force me to pay 15% of the original contract, which would have been double what I paid for the guttering and wood work. What was really upsetting was that they would have collected the 15% for doing nothing more than scheduling a visit by the job supervisor, who in fact had cancelled the visit and rescheduled it for weeks later. Oh, and on the original date they were to do the gutters and porch work they called about the time they were supposed to show up to tell me they couldn't come because the truck that supplied the guttering material had just broken down, so I had taken a day off work for nothing.
Description of Work: Originally PowerHRG was to replace my roof, install new gutters, and repair wood that was rotting on my front porch. In the end because of a financial issue on my end I was able to switch to just having them replace my gutters and repair the area of my front porch that was rotting out.

This process was so easy as to be ridiculous. The install team was on time, professional, and amazingly complete in their work. They were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. One of the windows came through with the gridwork going the wrong way, but one phone call by the quality control inspector was all it took to order a new set of sashes which should be installed in about two weeks. They are so responsive and it's a real pleasure to work with them.
Description of Work: Our 1961-built home had the original windows and doors. Front windows were wood sashes while the other windows were mill-finished aluminum. The house had settled after so many years and the front door was sticking and hard to open. Power installed five windows and an entry door for us. We are absolutely delighted with the quality of the product and the professionalism of both the sales rep and install team. Their attention to detail is superb and their clean-up after the install was just great. Our home looked as clean when they left as when the arrived. The installation team worked very hard to square the door frame and the difference between the old and new doors is amazing. The windows are beautiful to look at and so easy to operate.

UNRESPONSIVE, UNPROFESIONAL, I CANNOT RECOMMEND POWER HOME REMODELING GROUP! Originally we were just going to have the 9 windows on the front of our home replaced and then save for a year and get the 6 remaining windows on the back of our home replaced. Installation of the front windows was easy, professional, and we were so impressed with how smooth the process was we went ahead and decided to have the rear windows installed ASAP. Biggest mistake we made! An appointment was scheduled to measure the 6 back windows. Everything went well until 6 weeks later when it came time to install the windows. The installers removed the 2 windows in my sons' bedroom to install the new ones. Turns out that whomever measured the windows the first time measured incorrectly and the windows would have to me remade. The installers put the old windows back in and screwed them shut - a safety issue for sure. They also left wood splinters from where they removed the window all over the floor! It took several calls to PHRG to get the windows to be functional again (read- able to open in case of an emergency) and 2 more weeks to have the windows remade. Take 2 on the rear windows wasn't very pleasant either. The installers were friendly and helpful but they made a hot mess of the caulking around the windows. Seriously, it looks awful! The first time PHRG installed my front windows we had a Quality Assurance Officer from Power Home come and inspect the windows to make sure they were installed correctly and give us the info we needed to activate the warranty. This is one of the things that impressed us the most. When the back windows were installed nothing like that happened. No one came out to check the job. When I called customer service via phone to ask about the warranty info for the back windows I asked why a quality assurance officer did not come out again. I was told that there were too many jobs in my area to have someone come out. Interesting - too busy to do a job right! As of today, we are still trying trying to get the job done right. After more calls than I care to admit, I am still unhappy and disappointed with the installation of my windows. I cringe to think what hoops I might have to jump through, and how many hours I will waste on the phone if I ever need to make a warranty claim. I have found customer service at PHRG to be less than helpful, and even less responsive. I cannot and will not recommend PHRG to anyone. The product may be good, but customer service and satisfaction are less than second rate. I regret my decision to purchase replacement windows through PHRG and hope other will avoid making the same, very expensive mistake I made.
Description of Work: Window replacement of 15 windows total. First job was replacing 9 windows on the front of my home. Second job was replacing 6 indows on the back of my home.

The crew of five workmen were very professional and completed the whole job in just two days. The flashing and caulking look very professional. We had originally scheduled the job for a week earlier when my wife, who works nights, was off, but we were informed about a week or so before then that the job was to be postponed a week. So my wife ended up working both nights before the workmen arrived. The workmen were able to schedule the replacement of individual windows so that she could sleep in one part of the house while they worked in other parts of the house. The house looks better with the new windows and doors, and the AC doesn't come on as much as it did when we had the old windows. The temperature is also more uniform inside the house. We have a bedroom over the garage that was always hot in the summer and cold in the winter. We thought that there just wasn't enough insulation above the garage, but the temperature in the room has been much cooler since the windows were replaced. The one disappointment was that the company called us at 8:45 on the morning when they were supposed to arrive by about 9:00 (after the first postponement) to tell us that the crew needed to finish up a job at another house, so they arrived at our house a day later. However, they had estimated that the job would extend into a third day, so they still finished on the day they originally estimated.
Description of Work: The original builder-grade windows in our house were literally rotting away. They were also difficult to open, and the locks were very cheap. So we replaced 37 windows, which is all of the windows in our house except the small windows around the front door, and the two back doors in our house, one in the basement and the other in the family room on the first floor. The replacement doors are both sliding doors; the original doors were patio doors. We ordered all of the windows and doors with Heatshield, which greatly reduces heat flow, and Duraglass, which is very resistant to breaking.

I normally don't consider door to door contractors for work, but I figured I'd give this company a try. The company rep arranged to have a salesperson come out to my house that Saturday. The salesperson did show up 25m late, but that wasn't a huge deal. This person (Daniel) was extremely pushy. He didn't go up on my roof, rather he took "rough measurement estimates". Just a background here: I have a 1400sq ft Cape Cod in Abington PA..not a huge house..I'll get to that later. He asked if he could "get into the attic to look for rotted wood". I told him I didn't feel comfortable with that (That could be done during the job anyway). I became annoyed after telling this guy that I had friends coming over (several times mind you). He stopped and asked "did I offend you??" I'm not here to be your best friend, dude (I thought). Finally..the prices..FOR A 1100SQ Ft Roof $15,500 @ 27.99APR ($550/mo) or "If I agree now $13,164 @12.99% (450.00)!!! Someone would have to have serious brain damage to agree to that. I'd end up paying either 18K or 15K in those scenarios!!..He didn't even give me a professional estimate write up..just a card with numbers written on it. .I went with my original contractor $3,900.00 paid for in cash after the job is done. Just a word of warning..when you come across a door to door contractor who "happens to be in the neighborhood", be wary or better yet have a second pair of eyes check everything out. As a side note, I told the follow up caller all this as well.

Thanks for taking the time to write. I'd like to address the issues you took with our remodeling consultant during your estimate and explain to you the circumstances involved so that you can better understand why our process is designed in the fashion it is and what differentiates our roofing system from a typical contractors roof. You wrote: "He asked if he could "get into the attic to look for rotted wood". I told him I didn't feel comfortable with that (That could be done during the job anyway). " The reason Dan asked to look into your attic for rotted wood is because that is a crucial detail in determining the approximate price for our roofing system. Some of our customers' homes are subject to rotting or fully rotted wood. This base acts as the foundation for their roof - this is an issue that, if not remedied, will cause serious problems down the line. Because of that, we replace all rotted wood within your attic prior to installing our roofing system - after all, a house built on a weak foundation will not stand, but sink. The same is true with our roofing system. We want to make sure your roof will hold up for as long as you do - and it all starts with a sound foundation. Furthermore, replacing a large amount of rotted wood may increase the cost of your project - this is obviously information that is crucial towards your decision and something you should be well aware of heading into your remodeling project. There is good reason Dan asked to look into your attic - he wanted to better service you and provide the most accurate estimate for your roofing project. In addition, you discussed the discrepancy in price between the price for our roofing system and the price your local contractor quoted for your roof. Please understand that - in home remodeling, as in life - there is a wide discrepancy in the quality of product and installation, not to mention the strength of the warranty and its respective service division. Our roofing system is second to none - if you'd like to learn more about it, please feel free to visit this YouTube video in which we thoroughly explain all that goes into a Power roof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGCpockguM0&list=UUrK7WrxsBnkzrRHidORUFqw&index=0&feature=plcp Our roofing system also comes with a 50-year warranty that is backed by a dedicated warranty service division that will service your product - free of charge - whenever there is an applicable issue. We offer this type of peace of mind to our customers in order to deliver on a very different type of remodeling experience than what is typically expected. When you choose Power, you choose products and service that you can trust and rely on. If you'd like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me personally. They salesperson was punctual however he LIED about his experience. He was new and lied about how long he had been with the customers and lied about other service calls in the area. We were given an estimate and pressured to sign a contract that night. We called back the next day to discuss and were assured they would hold the pricing from the night before, but when the salesperson returned the pricing was very different - the program was very different and the window count changed. It was very poor sales service and we would never recomend this group. To have a sales person flat out lie in this day and age - and to have a company that when told of his deception did not immediately fire him... it speaks about the whole of the organization. In the end we decided we could only work with a company that we could trust and had integrity.
Description of Work: We had asked for an estimate on 6 doors and 30 windows. They would not provide us a written estimate to keep and were VERY high-pressure in their sales techniques. They had a sign now price and a higher price if you took the night to talk it over with your wife.

Thanks for writing. I immediately looked into this further upon reading your review - obviously what you experienced is not what we intend to impart on homeowners. While we do our best to train our remodeling consultants, they do have a large degree of autonomy. For 99% of our remodeling consultants, this works out beautifully - they appreciate the freedom, enjoy having a job where they're trusted to do the right thing by the customer and make the right decision, and routinely deliver excellent service - but every once in awhile an incident like this crops up where action is necessary. Know that we took the appropriate action to address the issue at hand and have done what we can to ensure that it does not occur again. If you'd like to discuss this issue further, please don't hesitate to contact me directly. Ray Lodato Customer Advocacy Manager Power Home Remodeling Group 610.874.5000 x 2260

I am not having work done by Power Home Remodeling because just getting the appointment was an arduous process that seemed to be ridiculous in the extreme. I spoke to three different coordinators before finally the third one was able to make a simple appointment that , by the way, started with Power Home remodeling soliciting me. My appointment was within 24 hours of when I made it yet I received 2 calls to confirm the appointment. When I called to confirm, which was also annoying as I had personally received the calls to confirm but still had to call back as they use an autodialer and recording, I again had to restate all of the information that I had previously given to 3 coordinators. When I asked about this the representative told me he wanted to be thorough, which I appreciate but it was obviously a scripted answer. If three previous coordinators cannot be thorough and accurate and Power Home Remodeling's and process requires a 4th confirmation then I have to conclude that they have some major problems. There are plenty of other vendors who are thorough, accurate and much easier to deal with. My overall verdict was that Power Home Remodeling is too annoying to work with. I am no longer interested in my estimate appointment and have canceled.

Member, First, I would simply like to thank you for taking some time to post your feedback on Angie's List. As much as it might pain us to read negative reviews, it certainly forces us to look into various mirrors surrounding some of our business practices. It is from this feedback that we look to correct clearly identified problems. Secondly, I would like to extend an apology for your painful experience; clearly it is not our intention to dissuade potential customers with excessive and repetitive phone calls before they've even had a chance to see our impressive products or hear about our layers of service. The phone calls, while admittedly excessive in this case, were simply an attempt to confirm information that would allow us to afford you the best possible experience for your free estimate. From making sure we had the right remodeling consultant for your quote, with the right materials for your review, and a timely arrival time for both you and Member, we simply have a few balls in the air when we're trying to coordinate a full work day for all of our estimators. In our attempt to impress, we clearly ran afoul of your expectation. For that, we apologize. If you would like any further explanations, I invite you to reach out to me personally. Yours in Service, Ray Lodato Customer Advocacy Manager Power Home Remodeling Group 610.874.5000 x2260 RLodato@powerhrg.com

We are very happy with the results!
Description of Work: We had 23 windows replaced in our 80 year old home. The old windows were wooden and rotting. They were very drafty and difficult to open and keep open. The crew arrived promptly each day. They were very professional and courteous. After the fist day, someone came to check on the work completed and see that we were satisfied. It took only a day and a half to complete the job and the crew cleaned up beautifully! They vacuumed all dust and removed any residue from labels removed from windows. We were shown how to use various features and everyone was very careful of our home and our belongings (including our bunny). The difference in the hot, humid air entering around the windows was noticeable right away. I would definitely recommend Power to anyone looking to make some home improvements.

Met the rep originally at BJs warehouse. Sean Keeley was the salesman who came to my house and did the presentation. Which was loooong but probably about 2 hours. I liked the product, the estimate and financing was easily arranged at a reasonable rate. The date was set for the work. Cannot say enough good things about the crew that showed up at my house. They were professional,on time, worked without a break and cleaned up after themselves along with taking precautions to minimize any mess in the first place. A project manager(think thats what he was called) came afterwards and checked the work. At that point,I agreed to get a window replaced in my bedroom that is high on the wall(from previous owners breaking thru the attic to create a cathedral ceiling. That window took quite a while and I was disappointed that the bottom sill did not match the rest of the window frame. I complained and was told that they do not paint to match. That was the only letdown and since that window is kept shaded anyway, its not a big concern but I know its a mismatch. I can't say for sure if Power windows do decrease one's heating bill since last winter was exceptionally warm but I think I saw a slight decrease in my bill

After telling him we were not going to agree to the one day only price he lowered it again and pressured us into signing with the information that we could cancel. When leaving he said "I hope you know we take canceling very seriously" and that it would make him look bad. Needless to say we did more research and canceled.
Description of Work: The salesperson spent 5 hours at our home with an extremely long sales pitch. He continued to bring the seriously high price for siding down almost $9000 from the original price. Left us with a bad feeling.

My experience with Power was outstanding from start to finish. The sales rep was clear and concise in his explanation of the product and the process, the man who came to measure did so with minimum of fuss and carefully explained, what would happen and what I needed to do in order to be ready for the workmen to remove the old windows. Everyone I talked to at Power was knowledgeable and efficient and the workmen were skilled, proficient and very professional. The installers were also amazing in their efficiency and work ethic. They came in and got right to work, worked as a team, cleaned up after themselves and took great care with my personal property. And, a quality control person camethat very afternoon to make sure I was satisfied with the service I received. This is truly one of the best companies I have ever worked with, if not the best. They are careful to explain policies and procedures, they don't ask for a bunch of money up front, a real person answers the phone if you call with a question or concern and they honor their commitments. I think it is an exceptional company and recommend them with enthusiasm. I am more than pleased with the service I received at every step of this process and I think it is to be commended for putting the customer first.
Description of Work: Removal and replacement of 6 windows and a patio door. Windows and frames were removed and replaced with more energy efficient frames and glass. The patio door required some extra work because the frame had to be built up to accommodate a more standard sized door and frame

A sales representative knocked on our door after they completed a job on a neighbor's house. We knew that we would soon need to replace the roof, so we got a price quote for replacing the shingles, some plywood, and the gutters around the house. The contractor called us and scheduled a time for the project. When they started taking the shingles off the roof, it became apparent that all of our plywood would need to be replaced. The project lead was able to get the extra plywood and complete the entire job in one day. They even got the entire mess cleaned out of our yard before they left. They even worked with us to find the best financing possible for the extra cost. Everyone we worked with was extremely friendly and very customer service oriented.
Description of Work: Completed replaced roof and gutters including all plywood decking.
