Their sales presentation was very detailed, and no corners were cut. Based on that presentation, we chose them to to the job. That day, there were three people, and the crew leader was a stickler for detail. They encountered problems with the front door frame which kept them late, but they stayed to the finish. We liked the service so much that I ordered a new garage door from them.
Description of Work: We had all nine windows and two entry doors replaced.

Jason and his partner arrived at the exact time of the scheduled appointment. Both of the installers from the company got right to work and removed the old windows and replaced them with the more energy efficient windows. They were professional, explained to me the work they were performing, etc. They finished the work in a decent time frame. The final product looked and worked great. No problems. They cleaned up all the materials they removed and left me home exactly the way they found it. I am a happy camper.
Description of Work: I had three 25 year old casement windows replaced on the first floor of my townhome. I did get an estimate for the work in advance. The per window replacement cost was somewhat higher than Lowes but these windows were much more efficient in terms of keeping cold out in the winter and heat out in the summer.

Power Home Remodeling is the pushiest company I've ever had through my house. I thought Thompson Creek was bad but Power Home is worse. They quote you a ridiculously high price but will give you 30% off if you sign immediately. If you won't sign now, the sales pitch goes on and I had to flat out tell the sales guy "you need to leave now. End of discussion." to get him out after three and a half hours. All I wanted was a roof estimate on a very simple roof! The price if I didn't sign today: $32,000. That's more than my brand new car cost! About a week later, I got a call from a "manager" that there had been a "pricing error" in my neighborhood. He begged to come and give me an updated price - he wouldn't give it over the phone. Against my better judgement, I let him come out but warned him in advance that I was calling the police if he wasn't out in 30 minutes. His sign immediately price was just under $18,000 so a substantial decrease from before. However, he was still $5,000 higher than the next highest bid for the job as I now had five other estimates under my belt. I ended up selecting the second lowest bidder, Exterior Home Center, who has an A rating on Angies List and who I had used before with great results. Total price $9325. Essentially half of Power Home. They did great quality work. And the sales pitch wasn't painful! The lowest bid was $6000 but it was clear that the contractor didn't know what he was doing. While I can't speak to the quality of their work, Power Home Remodeling's prices are sky high and getting an estimate from them will take an entire evening. Be warned.
Description of Work: Estimate for replace asphalt shingle roof and all plywood decking on a 40x30 house and 12x30 carport with a very shallow roof pitch. Add a ridge vent along the center roof line. Roof has a single ridge down the middle of the long axis of the house.

Every single contact that I had with each representative from this company was extremely professional and polite, and friendly. They answered all of my questions very patiently and in detail. They explained all aspects of the job to complete satisfaction, and then delivered on all their promises. They were punctual, neat, and worked within the promised timeframe to complete each job. I could not be happier with the quality of their work!

They did a great job! The dumpster arrived on Thursday and they did all of the work on Friday. They cleaned everything up and I didn't pay them until the job was over. They had an inspector come out while the guys were working to make sure that it was done correctly. They were in contact with me to make sure that I was pleased with my experience.

Did not have them do the work.
Description of Work: This is the second time I had gotten an estimate from this company. Although we were very impressed with the product we decided not to go ahead at that time. I recently had them come back and the first price given was more than double the price given two years before. In both instances they want you to make a decision right then although this time the pressure wasn't as bad. When I said the price was too high the salesman said rather than do the whole job (siding) we can do the house now and the garage at a later time. Even though I liked the product I wouldn't agree at that price. Several days later I received a call from someone in the company who wanted to have the sales person return with a new offer. They were available that day but I wasn't. We set a date later in the week but unfortunately at that time due to personal reasons I was not able to meet with them. They were to call back at the end of January. I never received a call but did receive an e mail saying they were sorry that they were unable to do business with me. The biggest problem I have is that they give you a price and when you say it is too high, they start offering discounts for various things, such as using your home as a "before and after" promotion, and other gimmicks. Why can't they just say this is the best offer and make it the best offer so you don't have to play games.

Thanks for taking the time to write. I want to take a moment to explain our first visit discount, so that you better understand our pricing and why it is structured in the fashion it is. The reason we're able to offer such a steep discount on the first visit is simply a matter of efficiencies. We visit hundreds of customers everyday. By offering our customers a steep discount for an agreement that evening, we effectively eliminate costs from the potential project. It is simply more cost-effective for us to come to an agreement on cost if our customers are ready to move forward. And if we can come to an agreement, we push those cost savings right on to the customer for their trust in our products and team. At the same time, we realize asking customers to make a commitment on a large project in one evening is not something everyone can do. Therefore, we believe we offer other cost-effective options that allow you to consider Power while you schedule additional estimates are sit on the quote until you are ready down the line. We are extremely confident in our products, warranties and level of service and while we are transparent that we are not the cheapest game in town, we feel our customers will ultimately choose quality over the lowest bid. They came in and gave us a good refresher on the windows before anything; they just took a lot of time to show us what they had and what they do. The windows are guaranteed for two lifetimes, it pretty much means that it is guaranteed for life as long as we live here and it's guaranteed for the next home owner. So that's pretty good; broken windows, any damage to the windows, anything at all is covered free of charge. They were very professional and they had their own guys come back and survey the work that the contractors did to check if they put in the windows right.

I like their work, the cleanup was very very good and the only thing I wasn't happy with them was, because I have not heard from them, how much they are going to charge for cleaning up the clogged gutters, due to the trees all around, just a minor observation.

He inspected the roof from the outside from the ground from all angles. He also went up into the attic to inspect it from the inside. He then took measurements. This took about 30 to 45 minutes. He then spent another 1 1/2 hours with me talking about the company and the products the company uses, warrenties, etc. I felt like this was too much time and the whole experience with a little to "sales pitchy" for me. The last 15 minutes were spent quickly telling me about their windows - I had somewhere to go and had to rush him through as I only allotted a 2 hour window. We never even touched on the siding. At the end of the time he was here I found out that Power Home Remodeling group would not be able to do some of the reconstruction that needed to be done with our our back and front porch and that was the deciding factor to go with more of a general contractor. I was impressed with the quality of their products and plan to use the information they gave me to make sure I'm getting a quality product from the contractor who will eventually do the work.

We love the windows; they're very nice. However, after we got the windows they tried to sell us a door that was priced at about $15K, then it went down to $11K! I paid $16K for all those windows; I wasn't going to pay that much for a door. However the sales person was very persistent & we went ahead & ordered it, but I had second thoughts & cancelled within 3 days. They didn't give me a hard time about it. I was just amazed at the price of it! The price for the windows was reasonable considering though. The installers were wonderful. They put the windows in, cleaned up afterward & didn't leaving anything behind. The only reason I wouldn't use them again is because the sales pitch is over the top & I wouldn't want to go through it again.
Description of Work: We purchased windows from them - 16 or 17, including 2 large picture windows - & they did the installation.

The sales person gave a very thorough explanation of the work to be done. Scheduling was prompt and they showed up on time. Unfortunately rain prevented their working a full day. They did come back early the next day and continued. They kept coming every day until the job was done. The finished siding looks very neat and all odd edges are professionally trimmed. They did shut off my external AC unit and unfortunately forgot to turn it back on and I panicked thinking my unit was on the fritz. Fortunately my HVAC provider gave me phone instructions to fix it.
Description of Work: They did exactly what they said they would do. They stayed until the job was done, even if it was late in the afternoon.

Once the contract was signed, a PHRG Project Manager, Paul, was scheduled to come out and double-check all of Kyle's measurements and to scope out the work in more detail. Paul made a good suggestion, which also saved me some money. I had a large, 30-year old A/C unit built into the lower half of one of my dining room window spaces. The A/C unit was framed in, with a small half-sized window above it. Paul suggested removing the old A/C unit, and replacing the half-sized window with a full-sized one. He reasoned that the full-sized window would give better insulation, as there was a lot of air leakage around & through the A/C unit during cold weather; and that I could always install a window unit in the new full-sized window for the hotter months. While the old A/C still worked, it 'was' on its last legs. Plus, I would be charged no more for the full-sized window, and would actually get a reduction in my bill since PHRG would no longer have to re-frame the old A/C unit. The PHRG installers were then scheduled to replace my windows. Tony and Dominic were right on time, and completed all of the work in one day, They were neat, clean, and did a fine installation, with no damage to my permastone around the windows. They even had a "Safe Work Practices Check Sheet and Cleaning Verification" list which they went over with me. About midway through the installation, I got a call from the PHRG Quality Assurance man, Steve, asking if he could meet with me later that afternoon. Steve arrived, and while the installers were still there finishing up their cleaning, walked through each window installation with me checking that both he and I were satisfied with the work done. In summary, I found all of the PHRG employees I dealt with to be prompt, courteous, informative and professional. The cost of their window is at the high end, but in terms of quality, I don't believe that they can be beat.
Description of Work: I needed a 'fix' for all (9) of my 22-year old triple-paned windows. Although the warranty with the windows was for 25-years, in the contract's small print it said that the insulating gas between the three window panes of each window was only warranted to last for 10-years Sure enough, as soon as the 10-year mark was hit, the windows started losing their gas one after another, with the result that they all are now fogged-up from condensation along with some mold. I managed to track down the new company which now services my old windows and got a price to replace all of my windows' panes. I was going to go this route because I have permastone around all of my window frames, which I assumed would be damaged if each entire window was replaced (which is what happened before, when these (9) windows were installed). But then I got a knock at the door from a Power Home Remodeling Group(PHRG) employee saying that they were doing work in the neighborhood, and would I like a free estimate. I said, "yes" and PHRG salesman, Kyle, showed up shortly thereafter. I explained my problem with the permastone to Kyle, but after checking out my existing window installation he believed his company could replace my windows without damaging the permastone. But he called an expert back at his office first, to confirm this. He then put on a long, but very interesting demonstration of his company's SL2700 window. I was sold by the quality of the window's construction as well as it's insulation ability, which Kyle demonstrated with a heat gun was about 4-times better than my existing triple-paned windows. In addition, these windows had a lifetime warranty, including the insulating gas. Plus, I could transfer the warranty to a new owner, should I sell my home (which I was considering doing in a few years). I was sold.

I got a ring at my door the other night at 7pm! It was some young guy flashing a worthless Power Windows badge at me saying, I'm from Power windows. Okay, so why are you bothering me and my family (2 sleeping kids) at this time of night? Have you even looked at my house? Do you see I have beautiful new Andersen Windows and Doors, and brand new Hardie Plank Fiber Cement Siding and a new GAF Timberline roof? Quality building products, not a cheap $100. vinyl window youi're gonna try to sell for $1000. as i've heard from a source. I can buy a real Andersen, Pella or Marvin window and have it installed for hundreds less, thousands on an entire house! I'm not even sure if this "blanket the area" style of soliciting is even legal. Get lost.
Description of Work: I don't buy or trust anyone who goes door to door trying to sell you something.

Member, While I apologize for one of our representatives bothering you at a time you find inappropriate, understand that Power holds itself to the highest standard in the quality of our products and services. You noted that you have a roof installed using top notch GAF Timberline products - the roofing products we sell are produced by GAF as well. You can learn all about our complete roofing system (a roof is so much more than shingles) by visiting the roofing section on our website, but I can assure you it's second to none and backed by a 50-year transferable warranty. As far as our windows, we sell a specific line of windows manufactured exclusively for Power - you won't be able to find the exact windows we sell anywhere else. Why not? It's because the quality we demand in our products is not easily met. If you're interested in learning more about the intelligent design used in our windows' state-of-the-art manufacturing process, check out this short video - it'll show you all you need to know: powerhrg.com/windows/superior-technology If you'd like to contact me and discuss this further, please do not hesitate to. Complete Roof Tear down on house - 4 layers of ashpalt shingles and cedar shakes, replaced with architectural lifetime (50year) shingles and ridge vent. My understanding is Power Home Remolding Group will warranty the job for 50 years. Once Power Home Remolding Group registers the job with the shingle company (GAF), the manufacturer will also warranty the job for the 50 years. My two-car garage roof (1 layer) of shingles were taken off along with cutting out the edges of rotted plywood and replacing it with cdx. A ridge vent and two sets of leaders and gutters was also installed on the garage. The job was completed in 4 days in the coldest week of January. These guys worked 12 hour days in the freezing cold. (Tough Breed) When the job was complete you couldn't tell any work was done in or around the house. They cleaned up really good. Not even a trace that anything was done. Even the dumpster was taken away immediately after completion. PS: The cost of the job was a little extra than the other estimates I received and well worth the extra money. t

On Saturday morning, a gentlemen named Caleb rang our doorbell and told us they were doing work in our neighborhood and wanted to know if we would be interested in an estimate on having our windows replaced. My wife and I have only owned our home for 8 months, but we have several windows not working right and we have a bad draft coming off of all the windows. We agreed on having the estimate. At 1:30 Ryan showed up at our door and did the presentation which lasted well over an hour before he took measurements for the estimate. The presentation spend allot of time showing you why their product and services are so much better than everyone else's.After taking measurements, Ryan places all the information in his computer and gives us an estimate. One price is based on us signing the contract today, (about $3,000.00 less) and includes a monthly finance rate about $253.00. The other price is a price guaranteed for one year, but the monthly finance rate is more than three times the sign today rate. Ryan waits outside while we discuss. We agree to sign today. We do all the paperwork and four hours later, Ryan leaves the house. When he left he took our copy of the paperwork which included the paperwork to send in within three business days if we want to cancel. I did several hours of research after Ryan left. The estimate that I received from PHRG is much more expensive than many other companies. Once a realized that the estimate was about double the industry standard, I looked for my copy of the contract so I could cancel. As noted above, Ryan left with the contract. I called on Sunday and left a message. I called on Monday and was transferred to Teresa's voice mail and left a message. I also left a message on their website. I sent by overnight mail a letter requesting that they cancel the contract. It will arrive well before the third business day of 30 January. These folks do a great job of pressure sales. They say there is no obligation, and they don't push. However, their techniques are clearly designed to get you to sign. Beware of them and know that you can negotiate a much lower price with them or you can find a cheaper price elsewhere.

They were great! They cleaned up their mess. We had a leak afterwards that was not their fault and was only from around the chimney. They came right back and completed the repair. Whenever we needed them to come back to make any adjustments, they came back quickly and got the repairs done. The roof is more expensive, but they have the guarantee on it. Their guarantees look very good and are guaranteed by the company who makes that roof. They did a professional job.
Description of Work: They installed a specialized roof that is guaranteed for fifty years. They also had a company come in with E-shield to install a shielding on the inside of the attic. It helps with the control of the temperature in the attic.

Overall, we feel we got what we wanted done.
Description of Work: We had insulation put in the unfinished portion of our attic, and also through the dry wall in the finished area. Two things I want to mention. The dry wall was cut was resealed when finished. The contractors stated that they would be back to sand and repaint that area. We have not heard from them. We were told that this company did not use contractors and all work would be done by their employees. The representative who came to the house took 4 hours to finally be able to provide us with an estimate. It felt like a car salesman trying to wear you down by dragging out the process. We did have insulation installed and we think it was a good job. We did not hesitate to have this company do the work because the demo we saw during the four hours looked really good, plus, we knew it was getting colder by the day.

I have stated above how the job went overall.
Description of Work: Power Remodeling replaced 4 casement windows on the 2nd floor of my home with sliding glass windows. The new windows replaced 25 year old Anderson Windows. I selected Power Remodeling because their product appears to be superior in terms of being double paned, argon glass between panes, and having the lower E factor. I wanted a product that would keep the upstairs warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. The technicians arrived on time, were professional, cleaned up and hauled off the debris. I plan to use Power Remodeling to replace the three sets of casements windows that I have on the first floor of the home. I know I could have paid less for replacement windows, since I already had other quotes, but Power Remodeling's windows appear to be using advanced technology and construction of their window products. Again, to sum the project up from start to finish: (1) the salesperson arrive on time and gave an excellent presentation of the benefits of the window product, (2) the next step involved a project manager coming to my home to verify the correct size of the windows, (3) when the windows were ready (I believe they are built specifically for each window) I received a call to set up an installation date, (4) about 5 weeks after speaking with the salesman the company installers arrived to perform the work (which they did in a professional and efficient manner, and (5) a quality control person called the day of the installation to set up a time to come out to inspect the work. Everything went well, As I stated above, I would recommend this company.

Everyone who has helped us has been very professional and punctual. You can definitely tell that alot of what they do is marketing but they are not pushy. They cleaned everything after the jobs where done and they were concious of the noise with my 1 year old son. I felt at ease with them in the household. They worked quickly and we only had to wait 2 weeks to get the job done, and that was after I had to reschedule due to a family emergency. They only thing I wish they would do is wear those disposable booties to cover there shoes. Since my son crawls everywhere I had to clean the entire house after they left. They brought drop cloths but they didnt cover the stairs or the entrance. However, this is a small price to pay for quality affordable work.

Spend the extra few dollars to have this FIFTY YEAR, TRANSFERABLE warranty roof installed at your home. The company is everything they billed themselves to be - and more. We were so happy with them, that we decided to contract them to replace our exterior doors! It's great to see that a remodeling company GETS IT - why install garbage, when the reality is that they will have to come back again and again to fix their garbage? Install the best materials the FIRST TIME - charge just a few dollars more, and come up with an iron-clad warranty that takes all the worrying away from the customer. Hands down, the most successful project we have had done on our home. TO top it all off, the end result is a magnificent new roof - a safe and sealed roof - a quality roof. Why would anyone want to go in any other direction. HOME RUN for Power Home Remodeling Group! What a great bunch of people, end to end!
Description of Work: Replacement of House Roof with 50 year warranty roof - included ice and water shield, fabric style roofing paper, GAF architectural shingles, 8" drip edge in matching color, replacement of chimney and step flashing, installation of ridge vents.

The guys that did the work were on time, extremely efficient, neat and completed the project as desired...and more.
Description of Work: I have used Power Home Remodeling in the past and, being so pleased with their work, I chose to use them again to complete the installation of new windows in my home even though I could have gotten a slightly better price elsewhere.

This review is being written following the brand new roof that Power has just put on my house. I am familiar with the company, since they also installed replacement windows and sided my house about two years ago. They have done an excellant job both times. They have cleaned up around the house. The roof looks great and has an excellent warranty. I don't think I could be more pleased. I expect the roof to be of the quality of the windows and siding. I would have now problems referring them to friends and neighbors.

Sales and delivery personal were professional. PHR group consultant called me to rechedule the installation following Sandy, they were able to accomodate me with weeks of the original scheduled date. During installation they had to use a mould and I asked them to use a smaller one because they had an 1/2 inch mould. The installation technician said that they don't make them anymore and Home Depot does not carry them. All said and done, I checked Home Depot nearby and they do have a 1/4 inch one. This is not the first time, they did the same for my previous installation.
Description of Work: Make sure you have at least 2 hours for the sales process. Make sure you absolutely need this top quality window or else, I bet you can find something at least 30% cheaper for slightly lesser quality with other vendors.
