We came upon this contractor at a time that we needed to replace 6 year old windows that were deteriorating due to broken seals and cracked glass. The experience with this vendor restored our faith in a window replacement company that demonstrated professionalism from the initial sales presentation through the final installation. We were clearly able to see the great quality upgrade in the windows and in the skill that the work crew led by Dave showed . The house was covered with drop cloths throughout and we got the sense that our house was treated as though it were their own which was very reassuring. I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this window contractor to anyone.

Service and professionalism was great from the sales guy (Tommy?) who came out to the installer (Steven?). The sales guy gave a great pitch! He demonstrated the features of the windows - from the strength of the glass, to how much it blocks the heat and everything else in between. The installer arrived on time, installed, cleaned up and answered any questions I had, esp in regards to the existing security sensors on the windows. He left the wire hanging out so the sensors could easily be changed by the home security guys. Later that day, the project manager came out to inspect the work and also of course make a pitch for additional work! Which was ok, he was polite and not pushy. Overall great experience. Love the windows.

we sat down with on of their sales reps, and he showed us the quality of windows they offered. we were very impressed with the windows, so we scheduled our windows to be installed right away. I was very happy with the work that was done it was fast and professional. we were also told we would see a difference in our energy bill my we did by almost half. I would recommend them to anyone, we also just purchased a rental property, and we need new windows there as well. we plan on calling them to replace those windows as well.

They did an excellent job, On time, neat, clean up nice. The product is good - the match to our previous white siding was good. We appreciated their calls to keep us informed of how the job would go. The foreman Tim visited the job on the day of the job and they completed it in one day.

I ended up having two windows in the basement and one in the kitchen replaced. The two in the basement were fine. The one in the kitchen did not fit, the wooden inset part did not fit. They went out and purchased baseboard which still did not fit the window. I called them again to have them make the window fit. I finally had my handyman fix the window since they were unable to. I did not like the salesman and would not recommend them.
Description of Work: They were in the neighborhood and stopped by to see if I wanted any windows replaced. The next day they came by at 2 pm and would not leave until 9:30.

We used them because our son previously used them and was very happy. When I originally called them, they made an appointment and said they would be out. My husband came home early from work so that we would both be here. After 45 minutes, we called to check why they were not there. They said that we had cancelled the appointment. It turns out that the person who scheduled our appointment had cancelled it. Once the owner heard about it, I had someone at my home at my convenience and they arrived right on time. They were very, very apologetic and called a number of times to make sure that we were satisfied after the work was completed. They showed up when they said they would, kept the work area extremely clean, and the quality seems to be really good. The only problem we had with it is that there has to be some kind of trim dividing windows. We thought that we had made it extremely clear that we wanted the glass area of the picture window to remain the same size of the original. To us, the picture window is much smaller because the trim is almost six inches wide and we have lost about four inches of window. The quality of it is very lovely and we are happy with it. Their lifetime warranty is extended to the next owner if you sell your home. For companies we called, they did not want to come out because they said they did not do work on only one window. My husband and I both thought it was one window. I would suggest that anyone needing windows first knows exactly how many they will need replaced.
Description of Work: They did a replacement of a picture window and the two windows on the side of it. The windows on the side do tip and tilt out.

I contracted with Power to replace my roof -- I had two layers of shingles on my house and three on my garage. While the sales process was much longer than I would have liked, it wasy *very* informative and gave me a lot of information on how Power was different than their competitors and what to look out for if I chose a different contractor. Power arrived on installation day as planned, but had to delay 1 day due to bad weather. Regardless, they still replace the entire roof in a single day as promised, and did a great job repairing some bad rafters as expected. Power did a fair bit fo replacement on the roof boards themselves, and it was all done professionally and without complaint. After they were done I found a fair bit of tar paper, nails, and other debris, but no more than I expected given the work involved. Overall, I would highly recommend Power and plan to use them again in the future for siding or other work. They were definitely a higher cost than other contractors, but I was swayed by the quality of their work, the quality of the materials, and the fact that they promised to have enough crew to complete the job in a single day -- a very welcome bonus!! I will say that the sales presentation was long and drawn-out (it could have been much shorter), and the post-installation review was also largely a sales presentation, but given the quality of the work I didn't mind too much.
Description of Work: Replaced 2 layers of house roofing and supporting boards, and replaced 3 layers of garage roofing with supporting boards. Also added a new ridge vent to the attic roof, dramatically improving comfort and temperature.

I have to say that of all the contractors that I have used, this has been the worst experience I have ever had. In the beginning of January 2013, Power Home & Remodeling knocked on my door stating that they were in the neighborhood and wondered if I need new windows, roof, etc. I have a low slope roof with Yankee gutters. I knew I needed a new roof and was planning to get estimates in early spring. I asked them for an estimate. Salesrep came and gave me an estimate. Kept on promoting 50 year warranty and all the home remodeling organizations that they belonged to. Original quote was for $8200. I agreed knowing I had 3 days to cancel. Looked them up on BBB and saw they had complaints but all were addressed. First problem occurred on Wed 1/9 when Project Manager came to assess roof. He asked in front porch roof was included. I said yes. He said he wasn't sure and would check up with office. To verify this, I placed called to Project Coordinator the next day, on Thursday, 1/10. He did not return call. Called again on Friday and finally got a hold of him. He would not answer my question about porch roof and referred me to another project manager who never returned my call. Monday 1/4 comes and still no answer on front porch. Work was started and the foreman knew nothing if front porch was included. I demanded an answer. Finally, another project manager came to my house on Tuesday and stated no, it wasn't included even though I had an estimate with the square footage of the roof included. We argued but they refused and wanted to charge me $2000 for the porch roof which I refused and since I was not happy they brought it down to $1200. Like they were doing me a great favor. At this point, roof is off and I just wanted it all finished so I agreed to the $1200. Roof was finished but when I went for the walk through, lo and behold, all of the project managers had left. The foreman of the crew, who was Hispanic and who's English was limited, walked me through the inspection. I mentioned several areas on the roof where it was flushed with the edge and my concern about water running over. He said no problem, that water would drain correctly. First rainstorm, I noticed water running off roof in several areas and no water was coming out of the Yankee gutters pipes. Called Customer Service. They sent one the guys out to look and admitted there were issues with the drainage not going into existing holes for the Yankee gutters. A date was set for crew to come out to fix the problem. The day of service, I get a call from customer service. Their VP of installations looked at photos of roof and decided nothing was wrong with roof. I was livid. I explained again that before you installed the roof, water went into the holes of the downspouts and after you installed roof, no water went into downspouts and instead runs off roof. The arguing just escalated with Power Home & Remodeling refusing to to accept responsibility that they installed a defective roof that does not drain properly. They kept on stating that I paid them for a new roof, not to fix drainage problems I had before the new roof was installed. I kept on repeating that water drained into the existing gutter system prior to them installing the roof and now IT DOES NOT!. I stated that they fix the issue or I would start the arbitration process, lodge a formal complaint against them at the BBB and trash them on social media. After 2 weeks of back and forth, they came back with a proposal to remove old yankee gutters and install new gutters in the front of the house but refused to install them in the back unless I paid for the installation. I refused and stated I paid for a roof that drained properly. Again, their response was no, I had paid for a new roof. I did not pay them to fix prior drainage issues. This just got more ridiculous. Being a homeowner, I expect a new roof to drain properly into the existing gutters and NOT have water run off the roof! They would install the gutters for me in the back for $400. I had had enough and wanted for them to just go away. They installed gutters in the back and front. I told them I wanted this relationship to end and I never hear back from them again. This company is a joke. They not only install DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS but refuse to stand by their work. They are interested in getting your money. Period. They will tell you about the great warranty, all of the organizations they belong to but it's meaningless. THEY INSTALL DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS! They assure you that they do a superior job but are only interested in getting in, doing the work and getting out. Their project managers leave before the job was finished and made me deal with a guy who had no authority and limited English. I'm hoping by writing this review so that other people will stay away from this company and save themselves not only aggravation but money as well. When I talk to other contractors about my experience, they tell me that Power Home & Remodeling have a horrible reputation and are known for pulling these type of shenanigans. I wish I new prior to hiring them. To respond Power Home and Remodeling response - The only gutter you installed free of charge was in the front of the house. Your customer representative, stated to me that the drainage problem occurred prior to the installation and hence Power Home and Remodeling should not have to pay for all of the new gutters. I agreed to this pay since I was completely sick and tired of arguing with Power Home and Remodeling and just wanted the whole mess to end. So actually, the total cost should be $9800. You did not go far beyond your contractual obligation in an effort to satisfy me. You consistently argued why the drainage problem was not your problem after I consistently told you that NO WATER was draining into the downspouts after you installed the new roof and WATER WAS draining into these down spouts prior to the new roof. You can't seem to accept that the new roof made the drainage issue worse. You refused to make any repairs to the new roof that no longer drained into the downspouts. I see no benefit in contacting you regarding this since for over two months (Feb-Mar) I have argued continually about this with your representatives with the result not even coming close to my satisfaction. I don't understand why this concept is so difficult for your company to grasp that a customer who pays a contractor to put a new roof on wants one that is installed correctly so it doesn't leak and drains into the existing drainage system and if there are drainage issues for you to resolve them the first time around. Having a VP make decisions by looking at photos of my roof and override your own employee who looked at the roof and acknowledged their was a problem is not the way to win customers. I wanted to receive a new roof that drained into the existing drainage system. I had a new roof that drained off the sides. Power Home and Remodeling failed in this.
Description of Work: Power Home & Remodeling installed a defective roof. They refused to acknowledge that I had a drainage problem after installation and refused to make any repairs to stop water from running off the roof and drain into the existing gutters.

Prior to the above review even being written, Power went far beyond our contractual obligation in an effort to satisfy (member name removed) . Despite this drainage issue being no fault of our own, Power roofed over the existing gutter and down spouts that (member name removed) claims were the problem and a completely different water management system was rebuilt, free of charge. From what we know as of our last contact with (member name removed), the water management system is working as designed - but despite our repeated efforts at contacting (member name removed) to discuss, he has not gotten back in touch with us. I'd like to note that Power always does what it can to work with our customers towards a mutually satisfactory conclusion on any and all issues that may crop up during the remodeling process - this project being no exception. (member name removed), if you'd like to contact us to discuss the particulars of your project as it stands now, we'd be more than happy to talk. Met a representative at the local BJ's. Made an appointment to get a roofing estimate. (Already received two estimates which were within a $1,000, so we knew the approximate cost) Daniel arrived promptly. After a 3 1/2 hour presentation, he finally gave his estimate. It was almost 3 times the two we already had received. Wow, how upsetting. Then came the hard sell. If we signed write now, he would take $3,000 off the price. We did not even react to the offer. Then he came up with another option, which would save $2,000. So within 3 minutes the price went from $25,000 to $20,000, still more than 2 times the estimates I have received. We told him he should leave now & if we decided to use his company we would call him. Please be very cautious about using this company.
Description of Work: Nothing refused to purchase the roof that we would sit outside and admire.

Response from Power Home Remodeling
Thanks for taking the time to write. In response I'd first like to address the price discrepancy between quotes. The warranty Power offers for the Timberline Ultra HD shingle is the 'System Plus' warranty - a warranty we're able to offer because we only utilize GAF products throughout the installation of a complete roofing system. This warranty lasts for 50 years, is transferable to the next homeowner, and covers all costs involved in a potential replacement - removal, labor, and materials. In addition to a significantly longer warranty, our guarantee extends to the entirety of the roof - do you have an issue with the underlayment? The flashing? The ridge vents? We'll replace it for free. The warranty you received as a part of your roof will not cover the entirety of the roof - only shingles. In order for the warranties of the shingles to be valid, you need to use other GAF components within the roofing system - we utilize GAF Weather Watch and Water Shield, GAF Deck Armor, GAF Pro Start Starter Strip, GAF Cobra Ridge Vents and GAF TimberTex cap shingles, which meaning every aspect of your roof is covered with a premium roofing product. If your roof does not consist of these products, there's a good chance your warranty is already voided. In addition to all of this, Power has been awarded Master Elite certification by GAF - their highest installation training certification - and we've recently received "The Gold Circle" Award from the NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association) and the Consumer Protection Excellent Award from GAF for never cutting corners or compromising the quality of our product in order to offer a lower price. We understand our product isn't for everyone - premium products typically are not - but If you want to purchase a roof that you will never have to worry about or invest another dime into - our roofing system is the route you want to choose, hands down. Power does not compromise or cut corners in relation to its quality - when you choose Power, you choose peace of mind. In relation to the pricing structure, the reason we're able to offer such a steep discount on the first visit is simply a matter of efficiencies. We visit hundreds of customers everyday. By offering our customers a steep discount for an agreement that evening, we effectively eliminate costs from the potential project. It is simply more cost-effective for us to come to an agreement on cost if our customers are ready to move forward. And if we can come to an agreement, we push those cost savings right on to the customer for their trust in our products and team. At the same time, we realize asking customers to make a commitment on a large project in one evening is not something everyone can do. Therefore, we believe we offer other cost-effective options that allow you to consider Power while you schedule additional estimates are sit on the quote until you are ready down the line. We are extremely confident in our products, warranties and level of service and while we are transparent that we are not the cheapest game in town, we feel our customers will ultimately choose quality over the lowest bid. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to contact me directly. Yours in Service, Ray Lodato Customer Advocacy Manager Power Home Remodeling Group 610.874.5000 x 2260

Great! My husband and I requested an estimate for windows & a garage door. The first salesman was very good (although his presentation was a little bit too long). The initial quote was higher than we were prepared for and we decided to wait. I received a call shortly after that they would like to come out and offer us some new pricing. The second salesman was very good as well - and he did a good job of talking us through our priorities and came to a price we were comfortable with (garage door and 3 windows). Everything from that point on was very good. The project managers were on time, and installation was promptly scheduled. Both the window & door guys were on time, polite, and did an excellent job with installation & cleanup. I even received a call at exactly 10am to make sure both guys were there and that everything was going okay. We are thrilled with the windows and door - we have already noticed a difference in our rooms. They are definitely strong salesmen, and the pitches tend to happen at every opportunity. But it worked for us - and we are incredibly happy with the product.

This company had someone going door to door in my neighborhood. They offered a free estimate on my roof with no obligation on my part. I agreed. The salesmen came out exactly on time and gave a very thorough presentation on the roof job. He was very thorough, measuring the roof, walking around the property taking pictures and even going into the attic to inspect the decking. Unfortunately it was downhill from there. What followed was a VERY high pressure sales pitch. Complete with the "sign here right now, tonight, or the price goes way up." That is a well known and frankly dishonest sales tactic. They started in with a proposal for over 22,000 dollars which is really double what it should cost. Then when I told them I was not interested in signing anything tonight they kept "finding" ways to lower the price. Special deals that the sales person would just remember or have to step outside to call the main office to verify. The price kept coming down till he got to around 17,000 ( still high ). FOUR HOURS LATER, it started to get contentious. I told them several times I was still in the process of getting estimates and they would not take no for an answer. I finally had to kick them out of my house by picking up the clip board and offering to help the gentlemen out of my house. All in all very stressful and upsetting. Of course as you would expect they called about a week or two later to ask us if we were still interested and they might be able to lower the price. No thanks. Oddly enough someone came around door to door again and asked us if we wanted a free estimate. They didn't even know that they had already been there. Do yourself a favor... skip these guys. Underhanded and dishonest sales tactics, absurd pricing, what's to like?

At the same time, we realize asking customers to make a commitment on a large project in one evening is not something everyone can do. Therefore, we believe we offer other cost-effective options that allow you to consider Power while you schedule additional estimates are sit on the quote until you are ready down the line. We are extremely confident in our products, warranties and level of service and while we are transparent that we are not the cheapest game in town, we feel our customers will ultimately choose quality over the lowest bid. The Power Home Remodeling Group experience was expert and professional. We found out about them through our local BJ's Warehouse salesperson who wasn't pushy, but, was anxious to set up an "in-home" appointment with one of their salespeople. Since we were looking into getting a new roof within a year or so; we thought why not have them give us an estimate. When the salesperson arrived we found that PHRG did not install the Velux roof windows that we want replaced along with the roof. As he was ready to leave, we thought to ask for a window estimate instead. The salesman was prepared to offer us an evening of window replacement theory and technique that lasted about 3 1/2 hours. Granted, he really new his product. We just weren't expecting to stay all evening conversing about windows! This company really wants you to be an educated buyer and the salesman answered all our questions. We asked him about our patio windows that were in need of replacement and he promptly went to his car and brought out a sample window which looked great. I said to myself..."ok, the sample looks great but does the actual windows look this good?" We decided after the very extensive "show and tell" that we wanted these windows though-out our house...yes, they are that good. The salesman (I now forget his name) gave us a very good deal by comparison of other window installers that we talked to a few years ago. Of course, we had to sign on the "dotted line" that evening in order to obtain the deal. Since we knew ahead what type of window we liked and the approximate cost we wanted to spend, we found the estimate not too pricey. We like that the windows are made in the USA and locally within our region. The PHRG office called us a few days later and set up a time for a project manager to come out and measure our windows. Here is where our experience gets "dicey". Once he found out that our porch windows would take much more time to install because the siding was put on after the original windows were installed, the project manager had to place a call to his boss. He called his manager to update our order to the tune of an additonal $1200! I was not pleased with this "bait and switch" routine and told him that we will not pay an additonal $1200 and that we will forgo the patio windows install. After 10 minutes of haggling with the man calling his boss to see if it will be ok to accept half the $1200 fee, we came to an agreement of paying an additional $600 since the salesman made a mistake. We set up an appointment for installation and the installers came promptly right on time. A crew of 6 installers and 1 supervisor arrived and went to work right away. The supervisor made sure that the crew worked efficiently and very carefully. The original install time was to be about 1 1/2 days but the crew was able to complete the job within 9 hours. I still regret not holding out paying the additional $600 because the crew didn't seem to have too much trouble replacing the porch windows. But, I realize now that one gets what they pay for. These are beautiful windows and the installers were a great team working together. Maybe we could have found a cheaper price with another company, but, I am very happy and do not regret this installation. Unfortunately, one of the porch windows wasn't measured correctly and we had to reorder one that was installed about one week later without a hitch. We didn't pay the company until all the work was complete and we are very happy customers. The windows are beautiful and really add a nice touch to our Cape Cod style home, especially with the front window grids that bring a look of "country" and "style" to the front of our house.
Description of Work: Replaced our 13 porch windows Replaced 12 house windows Clean and neat. Beautiful windows. Initially, the site supervisor estimated that our window replacement job will take about one and a half days. With their expert team of window installers of 6 men and 1 supervisor, the job was finished in approximately 9 hours. However, the one porch window was not measured correctly and could not be installed. The site supervisor remeasured and ordered the correct window size to be installed two weeks later. PHRG did not ask for partial payment on the first install day. We were relieved because we didn't want to pay until the job was complete and we did not want to have a confrontation about this. The site supervisor was professional and very knowledgeable as well as his team. Two weeks later, the 2nd team of installers (just two fellows), came and intalled the one porch window within one hour. These two fellows were just as professional and clean as the first crew. We paid them by personal check and received a receipt. Between the 2 week span that we still had the old porch window installed awaiting the new one, we could compare the differences. Although our old window was very secure and mid-range in price for 1993 standards, we noticed that the workmanship and look of the Power Window was much better.

We were at a Home Show, and interested in having an estimate for replacing our roofing. We made an appointment for an estimate with Power Home Remodeling Group. Prior to the contractor coming out to our house for that appointment, we received several calls from them to confirm our appointment. This was very annoying. They called, and left a message for us to call them back to confirm. So I called back. They later repeated this scenario at least twice. When I complained, i was told they needed to make sure someone was home for the contractor. Now, if I have a doctor's appointment, I only need to confirm that appointment once, but somehow this contractor thinks their time is more precious. So, the guy shows up and gives us this major sales pitch. He told me he is going to "educate" me. OK, so instead of tar paper, which is no good because it tears easily and is not good quality; they use another, better product. They gave me a price of $20,500 to remove the shingles, install a ridge vent, and replace shingles. The price was way out of line. It was twice what we paid another contractor to do this job, and by the way the contractor we hired did a terrific job, and they were nice to deal with, and they didn't ask me to call them several times to confirm and re-confirm my appointment. The price Power gave us was about 3 times the lowest estimate we received, and nearly twice the second-highest estimate we received. There is no way to justify this.

Response from Power Home Remodeling
Thanks for taking the time to write. Remodeling your home can be an intensely personal and intimate experience - remodeling projects can cost a significant sum of money, you're trusting people to come into your home and treat it as their own and homeowners aren't typically intimately familiar with all the details of our products and what benefits they can provide for your home. This is why we view our consultations as educational opportunities - we want each of our homeowners to be acutely aware of exactly what to expect from our products and services so that we me better serve them and correctly answer any questions they may have. This process is not always as fast as some would expect, but over 20 years of working in this industry has taught us that our customers, by and large, greatly appreciate this time investment, as it results in a better experience on the backend. I'd also like to explain our first visit discount, so that you may better understand our pricing and why it is structured in the fashion it is. The reason we're able to offer such a steep discount on the first visit is simply a matter of efficiencies. We visit hundreds of customers everyday and by offering our customers a steep discount for an agreement that evening, we effectively eliminate costs from the potential project. It is far more cost-effective for us to come to an agreement on cost if our customers are ready to move forward - and if we can come to an agreement, we push those cost savings right on to the customer for their trust in our products and team. At the same time, we realize asking customers to make a commitment on a large project in one evening is not something everyone can do. Therefore, we believe we offer other cost-effective options that allow you to consider Power while you schedule additional estimates are sit on the quote until you are ready down the line. Power Home Remodeling did a fantastic job! From the first contact at the Warminster Home & Garden Show, to the salesman, to the pre-installation inspector, the installation crew and the quality assurance persons -- all were professional, courteous and competent. Customer service contacted us to confirm appointments and schedule and confirm installation. The salesman explained in detail the company, the product and the warranty. He offered options that made the project do-able. The pre-installation inspector examined each window and confirmed the exact measurements taken by the salesperson, and looked for any issues or difficulties the installation team might encounter. The installation crew called the morning of the installation with their approximate time of arrival. They were prompt and very careful of our hardwood floors and carpet, laying drop cloths at each area they were working. The installation went very smoothly and was done with painstaking attention to detail. All exterior trim was custom cut with precision, and the windows caulked and insulated. The job took a little longer than we expected. Apparently the installation team was shorthanded, but they stayed until the job was done and the last window was done as expertly as the first. And they cleaned up after themselves beautifully! After they left, you could not tell that the whole house had been a job site! If I was going to nit pick, my only issue is that the caulk used on the interior was non paintable silicon and since I plan to paint the stained trim white (the window interior is white) I suspect this will cause problems. Once he found out I was going to paint the trim, the installation crew chief did let me know the caulk would require additional attention. I wish they had asked or had a different caulk option on the truck. Overall, I would highly recommend Power Home Remodeling to anyone looking to replace windows or doors. The windows operate smoothly, feel very solid and look great inside and out. The installation crew was meticulous. All contact with the company has been very professional and courteous. They obviously want satisfied customers and do what is necessary to see we are satisfied.

Men showed up on time and went right to work. Installers removed old windows and installed new windows quickly, caulked everything and cleaned everything up. Windows are installed and they even showed us how to clean them easier. Not a spot of dirt in or around my house, which made the wife very happy. Installers were very professional and went about there business without a loud radio or yelling to one another.
