Our experience with Power Home Remodeling was very positive. I was impressed by how well the company and their employees made the customer feel all important. It was a little overwhelming at first, but in the end it was reassuring. For example, they have a team who come for the estimate, another team who does the installation, and a third team that inspects the job within days of its completion. This is a very well thought out and organized process. The staff is also very friendly and professional, which makes dealing with different people each time a positive experience. We chose to go with this company because they have a system that enables proper ventilation of the roof, which we did not have (our house was built in the 1950s). It is more expensive but it is worth it. The 50 year guarantee is a plus, and the fact that it only took them one day to do the job (especially for a roof) was great. We also had our bay window replaced one month later with Power and we are satisfied with that job as well. The only small issue we had has to do with the impact that changing the roof had on the gutters. Right now water is falling behind the gutters and onto our siding and stone facade, likely because the ventilation system that was installed raised the roof a little bit. One of the supervisors was supposed to come take a look, but never did. We're just going to contact the company that did our gutters to see what needs to be done.

Power Home Remodeling had did some work previously. They gave me some new windows/ capping/siding. It looks great! So much so, I scheduled for them to come back and do some more work for me! This time they did siding/sofit/fascia/gutter work on my home.. They were curteous, punctual and informative. This was a 2-day project that looks good. Thinking about using them again for a smaller project. A+ Power Home Remodeling!

Installers arrived on time. Due to weather conditions the job was delayed for a couple of hours. Once they determined that it was not going to rain they got started and still finished before the end of the day. In addition to the crew a foreman was on site to oversee the job. I was able to talk to him about what was going on and what to expect. During the day an area supervisor also stopped to see how the job was progressing.
Description of Work: Removed all shingles and other material from the roof. They then installed new shingles. Also, they cut slots in the roof to provide cross ventilation in the attic. Venting material was placed into the slots and covered with shingles.

Installers were on time. Once they arrived they went right to work. The crew included a foreman to oversee the job. All windows were replaced in one day. All debris was removed at the end of the day. They even rehung the new blinds that were bought for the bedrooms. A couple weeks later after the first hard rain a leak developed in the top of the garden window. I called the office and set up a time to have it looked at. The foreman was visiting the area over the weekend and stopped on his own time to look at and repair the problem. There have been no problems since.
Description of Work: Replaced the old vinyl windows with new. All the windows but one were replaced. This included a new garden window in the kitchen. All trim was covered with aluminum.

The crew arrived on time and included a foreman/supervisor to overseer the project. Also, during the day a area supervisor also showed up to make sure things were progressing correctly. I was able to have conversations with the foreman as to what was going on and how they were progressing. He was very helpful and communicative. I was able to retain some larger pieces of material in case of a minor alteration in the future.

We were at BJ's and they offered a free quote to replace our windows. We agreed and a salesman showed up and gave us his spiel. About 5 (yes 5) hours later he gave us a figure of $21,000. Way out of line and we said no. He then offered a $4,000 discount if we signed up then. Taking advantage of the 3 day rescind law we agreed. We went to Lowes and got a quote. Lowes had a $90 per install special. We also went to two others but never heard from them, Home Depot being one. We called Power to cancel the contract and they said they would send a courier to collect the signatures and paperwork. Well, Power Home Remodeling sent a top hustler/salesman and he started his pitch to talk us out of the cancellation. After 2 hours, he agreed to beat the Lowes Price and threw in a few goodies and offered a better lifetime guarantee. We signed and got about 38% discount from the original quote. The two guys that came out were excellent workers and replaced all 13 windows and two sliders in a day and a half. They even helped me rehang the window treatments. They left the place spotless. Yes I would use them again... As long as they meet my price...

I'm sure this company spends lots of money to train their salespeople into being extremely likeable con-artists. By the time they leave, you really like them. BEWARE: If you have money to throw away, I am sure their product is high quality. They convinced me of that, with their approx. 3 hour power point presentation. They are over priced, and in my opinion use dishonest business practices to get your business. They tell you that the interest rate is "Only good for today", and that tomorrow it will go up from 7.5% to 27.99% (Wells Fargo). The initial salesperson (I thought she would never leave), spent much time with us, and even crawled up into our attic, and took a ladder and took pictures of our roof, then proceeded with her power point presentation. She quoted us $6740, but we HAD to sign on that day, and we did. Then the pre-install guy came over, and said "You're not getting your garage roof done are you.?" We said, why? He said because the quote was done on the square footage from a google earth image of your garage in error, instead of your house. I saw a copy of this Google Earth image of my property (which the 2nd salesperson swiftly took from me before he left), and it was VERY CLEAR, where the garage was, with the cars parked in front of it, and where my house was, and the cars parked in front of it on the street. An 8 year old could see this. He called in, and they gave him a REVISED price of $13,000. We said NO WAY. They proceeded to send their "Super Smooth Salesman" to our house, who told us a sob story, about how the first salesperson was going through a divorce, and she would never normally make a mistake like that. He also told us another sob story about how his friend and his 3 dogs, died in a fire, because of a leaky roof that resulted in a deadly fire. He had the nerve to ask me and my partner to sign a contract that we would agree to do a roof in case someone cancelled their job, then they would do ours that day, and squeeze us in real fast. He said they would make it right, by reducing our cost to "AT COST" at $10,669, instead of the $13,000, and they were magically able to hold the 7.5% interest rate that supposedly expired on President's day.. Well we found someone else to do it at $7990, and they were honest enough to tell us our attic was too small for the expense vs payoff for the attic reflective material that Power INSISTED we should have. Do yourself a favor and use Kanga Roof instead or A Brooks Construction, licensed in PA and NJ.
Description of Work: Roofing Quote. Tried to swindle us into buying their over priced roof.

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback about your experience. I'd like to address a few issues you raised in your review so that others reading can walk away with a clearer understanding of things and so you can view the aforementioned events from our perspective. We provide financing as a courtesy to our customers, but we do not control the interest rates that our lending partner provides. Our lending partner frequently runs promotional rates and, when that happens, we like to inform our customers so that they can benefit from the savings. These promotional periods end at the discretion of our lending partner, so the rates can change quickly. While we're glad to hear you ultimately found a contractor you feel comfortable with, we're upfront about the fact that are not the cheapest option available to homeowners. Power offers a premium product and service with a lifetime service guarantee following installation, along with a customer satisfaction rate that hovers around 98%. While you may pay a bit more, we believe we offer a great value for those who want a partner they can trust to handle their remodeling project with extreme care. The error in measurement was an honest mistake on the part of our remodeling consultant and we apologize for the inconvenience. We use a sophisticated aerial measurement system to properly measure the surface area of our customer's roofing systems and, while this typically results in extremely accurate measurements, in this instance our consultant measured the wrong surface, resulting in the discrepancy between quotes. Lastly, we offered to do the project at cost because of the inconvenience you experienced related to the measurement error. Again, while this may have come in at a higher price point than the contractor you ultimately chose, we've found in our 23 years in the industry that there is typically a strong correlation between price and the quality of products, installation and follow-up service offered. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to contact me directly. Contact was made at the home show with a request that they not call until after 6pm. Following the home show the calls began to both me and my wife 3-4x per day starting at 8am. Not at all what we had discussed, but we finally took the call and scheduled an estimate which was confirmed on another call a few days later. The day of the estimate, no one showed up. About a half hour past the scheduled appointment, I called to find out what was going on, and was told they had no record of the appointment. They suggested that I had probably made the appointment with another company. When I told them I found that comment insulting, they hung up on me. After a week or so, the phone calls began again. My wife took the call, and they told her that the original appointment had been deleted in their system... apparently instead of confirming it, they deleted it. She explained that due to their behavior, we would not be doing business with them, and asked that both numbers be removed from their call list. A week or so later, they started calling yet again. I took the call, and told them that I would not be doing business with them because of the poor experience... and they hung up on me again! Just recently, calls to my wife's phone have started yet again. It boggles my mind that a company can represent itself in such an unprofessional manner and still be in business. I have never been treated so rudely by someone who is supposedly trying to get my business. I would never do business with this company.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us feedback on your experience. That said, I want to apologize for the inconvenience and elaborate as to what occurred from our perspective. We record our phone calls for the purposes of continually improving our levels of customer service, so I went back and took a look at the call logs under your customer profile. We have records of attempting to contact you in order to schedule a free home estimate, but our files indicate that we were unable to successfully schedule a time for that estimate. Given how your feedback conflicts with what our database is reporting, I think it's fair to assume that there was a miscommunication at some point in the process. Because our system did not have you scheduled for a free estimate, we continually attempted to contact you in order to satisfy your original request. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience, but it appears as if this is an unfortunate case of details being miscommunicated. Based on your review, I have flagged your profile so that you will no longer receive phone calls from Power - however, if you'd like to discuss your experience further based on our response, please feel free to contact me directly. It went great. They were punctual and did a really clean job. Very professional. If they had any problems it didn't show. The job went smooth and quick they were in and out within 6 hours and the windows and doors look great with a very minimum of damage to the inside. Just needed a few paint touch ups.

I met this company when they knocked on my door. That prompted me to do a little research on them via Angies List and their website. It was apparent immediately that they were well established organized and an overall in touch group. The salesman was very thorough but not pushy. He answered all of our questions adequately with a great deal of knowledge. The PII manager was also able to answer the questions that came up between the install and when the sales guy left. Everyone was on time and nice and efficient which i anticipated after reading all of the reviews. They are very good with their follow up and quality control processes. I will update this after the windows have been in for a while.

The project went wonderfully well and I couldn't be happier. The work crew was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and worked quickly. They cleaned up and even cleaned all the windows they installed. I was amazed by the job they did. The bay window they put in is absolutely gorgeous. My home looks brand new. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone looking to replace windows. Their price was very competitive with several contractors I had in to give me an estimate. Thank You Power Home remodeling group!

All installations were performed on time as scheduled. Fascia and frieze board was done in one installation, windows done in a second installation. Fascia looks very nice and has definitely improved appearance of home. Window crew arrived during specified window. Crew was four to five people. Old windows were out and new windows in during about a 2-hour window. The remainder of the time on site was spent trimming and caulking windows. Total job time was about six hours. Crew was extremely polite and friendly. Installation was completed without damaging any existing interior trim around windows. Prior to leaving, crew chief explained how to operate windows. Crew did an excellent job cleaning up before departing. The windows themselves (made by another local company) are very nice, well-insulated, and there is a noticeable difference in both the level of external noise and the amount of heat/cold transfer. The only drawback is the pricing, though PHRG never claimed to be the least expensive provider of this service.

It was done very efficiently but part of the roof in the rear was shingled when it should not have been because of the slope. That caused some water pooling. They were quick to come out and correct this issue and I am working with them currently for a rebate for the difference between the shingle roof they put in, and the flat roof they should have done in the first place. As of 5/4/15 Power Co. has insisted that the cost charged to me for the shingled patio roof was the same as the replaced rolled roof. I am not in agreement with that conclusion and will try to pursue my case to an executive of the company.

I called Power Home Remodeling back expecting a better explanation as to the cancellation. I basically got the same message, we're not keeping the appointment. I'd hate to see what happens once you sign a contract and provide a deposit..............
Description of Work: I scheduled an appointment several days in advance for estimate on installation of windows and sliding patio door. Approximately 2 hours prior to appt dispatcher called to confirm time and location and told me the estimator would be there. Approximately 1 hour before appointment I noticed a voicemail on my phone. It was from another individual at Power Home Remodeling telling me the dispatcher was misinformed, they were over booked, and that my appointment was cancelled. That's it, nothing more on the message.

We have an older 3-story row home that we bought in 2010. The house was always fairly drafty and we knew we would have to replace windows. We ran into PHR at the Italian Market Festival a few years ago - it took a while to actually get them to come out as they needed both my wife and me home at the time. Pre-work timeliness is an issue with PHR - it took several reschedulings to get them to come out. When the sales guy came out, what was supposed to be a one hour visit turned out to be closer to 3. The price was higher than we expected but the quality was much better than we had expected. Once Tom and his team came out to do the work, it was timely, clean, quiet and very high quality. We can't say enough great things about these new windows! We expected a reduction in the draftiness of the house, but WOW. We actually have to run the fans on the top floor because it now gets so hot upstairs. The house is also so much more quiet now! While the sales experience can be challenging [hard sell, timeliness], they more than make up for it with the quality of the windows, and quality and timeliness of the installation. VERY highly recommended!

Power Home Remodeling Group were efficient, punctual, and professional as they installed new windows in our home. We were very pleased with the sales people, the young man who came to measure the windows after we decided to purchase, and I can't say enough about the gentlemen who installed all the windows in one day! They let us know when they were coming, polite , and cleaned up thoroughly after installing each set of windows. At the end of the job, the installers demonstrated how the windows operated and answered any questions we asked. After they were finished, a young man came to the house to inspect the work that had been done and also wanted to make sure we were satisfied. We are very happy with this company, and we would recommend it to our friends.1

Once we actually got the work part, it was done really efficiently and well and they cleaned up well, and we were happy with the result. The whole kind of negotiation process going into the Google where they have their sale station, they never offer you the best deal and you got to figure out so that point is annoying to me. But I guess it's part of the course. The negotiating price was a little sketchy. They've never been all the way honest.

I have now used them for 2 seperate projects I had windows and fascia/gutters done. They were timely and responsive throughout both jobs and explained everything thoroughly. The quality of work is very high and I have also noticed a big drop in my utility bills over the winter since doing the windows. They were not the cheapest but I feel like they were a very good value compared to all the others out there doing cheapo windows. You cannot beat their lifetime warranty either and they are big enough so that I feel comfortable that the warranty actually means something. Very Happy Overall. I would recommend to anyone looking for high quality.

I have been pleased with all my 4 contact points with this provider from the initial door to door inquiry, the first visit with the Sales Rep, the pre-install Inspector and the Installers themselves. All contacts were handled professionally and the reps arrived at the appointments punctually. On the install date, wood rot around my windown was discovered by the installers. The Quality Assurance rep showed me the trouble and indicated that the capping cannot be completed properly over the rotted wood; they will have to install different wood around some of the windows. Also, my original soffits were not installed correctly and there is no venting into my roof. The install team corrected this for me and the QA rep let me know this. They are working all day in very cold conditions; I am very impressed thus far with the quality of the work as well as the efficiency and the professionalism of all the staff I have come in contact with.

We hired Power Home Remodeling to replace most of the windows in our home. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the service and product, however, as many other reviewers have commented, their sales approach is pretty frustrating. Additionally, if you?re looking for cheap ?big box home improvement store windows,? this is not the right company for you. We would consider using Power Home Remodeling Group again. Pros: - Custom-sized windows are a great product and comes with comprehensive lifetime warranty (transferable once to your home?s next owner) - Installation is very impressive and requires no painting or trim repairs - Great communication - Friendly and professional team - Financing available Cons: - Be prepared for a 2.5-3 hour sales pitch, and even more time if you decide to hire them - Questionable sales tactics - Price of product and service is not for everyone Pre-project Details: I was approached by a nice door-to-door salesman while working on the yard one day, inquiring if we were looking to replace our home?s original windows (built in 1940). I told him that we had just purchased the home and that we were waiting another 2-3 years in order to save some money, but we would be open to getting an estimate. He called his office who set us up with an appointment. The woman on the phone asked that both my wife and myself be available during the estimate, since they want all decision makers at the estimate appointment. The day of the estimate, a nice gentleman came on time (6:30 pm), took a look at our windows from the outside and inside and pointed out some high-level details. Awesome, so far so good! This is going to be an easy experience and we?ll be able to eat our dinner soon? or so we thought. Two hours later, we were still listening to this gentleman?s sales pitch, our dinner was getting cold, and my wife kept glaring at me for what I got ourselves into. Okay, not so good anymore and I got myself in trouble with the wife. Awesome. The only good thing about the really, REALLY long sales pitch was the live demonstrations. (spoiler alert!) At one point, the gentleman slammed a sample window against a nail, only to show us that not only would the glass not shatter, but it wouldn't even crack. Then the price came and we were a bit thrown back. However, you can tell he was trained to give the initial price and then make us feel like we?re getting a bargain by throwing in all kinds of discounts. We decided to give Power Home Remodeling a shot and due to the high price, we agreed to start off by only replacing the upstairs windows. All the paperwork then took another hour! At 10:30 pm, he finally left and my wife and I just stared at each other in disbelief about what just happened. Work Execution: The company has one of the best communications and project planning I have ever seen from a contracting company. We were provided with ongoing updates about our upcoming project and reminders about our appointments. A week after the sales pitch, a project manager came to do final measurements on our windows and provided us with an overview of what to expect. Thankfully, this only took about 30-40 minutes. The work was started and completed on the day that was promised. The two installers did an unbelievable job keeping our place clean and replaced the 7 upstairs windows without putting a single scratch on our window trims. The work included installing the custom-built windows along with capping the outside. All trash was hauled away and they left our place cleaner than it was before they started. Quality Assurance Follow-up: A week later, a quality assurance representative came to check up on all the work? or so we thought. This lead to yet another 1.5 hour sales pitch in trying to convince us to replace all the downstairs windows by giving us an even better price and financing rate for the entire project (upstairs and downstairs windows). My wife was furious and let the gentleman know that we felt like we were being played. He was very professional and explained that Power Home Remodeling does not allow for their salesmen to give out the ?returning customer? rates. The price to finish up the remaining windows came in over 10% lower than the initial quote to replace all the windows, so we simply could not turn down the offer. However, we expressed our frustrations and stated that we do not want another QA meeting or sales pitch after replacing the remaining windows. Work Execution (Round 2): Like the first time, we had a project manager come the following week to do final measurements. Five weeks later, another installation team came and replaced the downstairs windows. And like the first time, the men showed up on-time, were very professional, and left our home cleaner than when they started. We could not be more satisfied with the installation process and workmanship. This time around, one of the QA managers stopped by during the installation to check up on the progress and ensure that I was happy with the work being done. He also worked with the installers to ensure everything was being done correctly. And this time, no sales pitch! Conclusion: This company is extremely professional and you can tell they have spent a lot of time implementing a standard process for the entire sales and project lifecycle. The installation and windows are of great quality, however, you pay a premium for this quality. So far, two months in, the windows appear to deliver on everything told to us during the sales process. Our utility bills have gone down and the reduction of noise from the outside is remarkable. We highly encourage that Power Remodeling Group revisit their sales tactics and practices. The sales pitch absolutely needs to be cut down and shortened to less than an hour. Additionally, the company needs to revisit their pricing strategy and consider offering best price the first time around. Their current practices can make their customers feel mislead. Had the sales process and practices been better, we would have given an "A" rating. Overall, we would use Power Home Remodeling, however, we will put our foot down and tell them that 1) We want the short-short-short-short-SHORT sales presentation 2) We will only give one shot at giving their best price We would recommend them to our family and friends, though with fair warning on what to expect.

It was an excellent experience. I didn't like the way the trim looked after they first installed it (the trim I picked out), they came back and replaced it at no additional cost. Great customer service. Kind of expensive I guess, but well worth it. Will hire again.

We looked into several different projects for windows and venting issues. Pella, Renewal by Andersen, Hynes Roofing and another contractor were much higher in price and were not as knowledgable about the products or couldn't take care of all of the projects in one price. Power Home Remodeling was AWESOME and were able to take care of all of our projects. The salesman explained that the ventilation systems that the other companies had suggested wouldn't work, which no one else seemed to care about. We financed, which allowed us to do a lot more and their prices were much lower than their competitors. We needed windows and something done to cool our house in a bad way. Power swooped in and did everything quickly and thoroughly. There were several inspections, which made us feel like this was a company that we could work with again. Another reason why we went with the company was because they offer a double life time warranty on all of their products and installation. Every other window was 10 to 15 years. While the salesman was here, he even let me throw a lacrosse ball at the window to prove how strong it was. It took me three times, but I did hit it and the ball whizzed back and almost knocked me out. We had a problem with one of the windows and they offered to replace it. I have met at least five different people for my projects and everyone was AWESOME.. Also, they offered better financing at the end of the project. We will do more projects with them in the future and continue to have a great relationship with the company.
