I am very pleased with the work and the excellent job that Power Home Remodeling did. I had 14 windows replaced and the installers did an outstanding job. They were professional, courteous and punctual. There was no mess. Everything was clean after the job was done. Since my windows were installed I have noticed how much quieter the inside of my home is. And the best part of the whole deal is the life time warranty that the Power Home Remodeling Group offers. I would use them again and I highly recommend them.

Well I first have to say what sold me with Power was the initial sales appointment. Two gentlemen showed up and we had the best time with them and they were very informative, my daughter loved them. The price is a bit higher than normal but its there business philosophy and there ongoing community support of charitable organizations that really inspired me and the general overall feeling that the employees really like working for this company which equals out to a job done with integrity and quality. They came on time and were very organized and thorough. After job was done supervisor came and checked everything out and then the quality control guy. All were very nice. Once the quality control guy came I ended up ordering a front and back door! He was able to lower my interest and make the payments work. I love my new windows! Cant wait to finish with the doors! We have gone for the cheapest deals in the past and have only ended up with a headache later so I didn't mind paying a bit more knowing that they are there if anything goes wrong and I love the lifetime transferrable warranty. Thanks Power it was a great experience.

They were amazing - efficient, fast and detail oriented! They cleaned up as they went and did an excellent job. Workers were friendly, polite and responsive to my requests. The job looks great and the windows are such an improvement! The project manager checked in more than once to be sure all was well and reviewed the operation of my new windows with me.

Fabulous job on new, seamless gutters and downspouts. Workers were punctual, pleasant and efficient. Am very satisfied with the job and would call them again. The quality assurance manager, in particular, was very helpful in answering questions and providing direction prior to the job and upon it's completion.

I'll start this review off by saying that if their roofers are as good as their sales people, thank you will be getting a good roof. I probably would of used them if I didn't feel like I was going to get ripped off. First contact was made with them when they were going around the neighborhood offering to give free estimates for roofing, gutters, siding, etc. Since I knew that we needed a new roof, I agreed to get the free estimate. The sales guy was very professional and so I had an appointment set up for the free estimate. The guy who came to give the estimate was great. He was right on time, very thorough, and explained everything very well. The problem came when he got to the "estimate". The first number that he gave me was $19K. He said that that would be good for a year. He then said that if I agreed to the contract that day, the price would be $17K. I said that we would need to get a couple more estimates from other roofers before we would agree. He then went into the "best price" that he could give me if we allowed them to take pictures of before and after. The price that he gave me was $16K. For some reason, probably because he was a nice guy and was there for 3 hours, I agreed to the $16K price. Well. As soon as he left I had buyer's remorse. I signed up for Angies List and my fears were proven to be true. I felt like I fell for the pitch and didnt do my due diligence. Since the estimatesas made on a Friday, I was thinking about it all weekend. As soon as Power's office opened up Monday morning, I called them and told them that I wanted to cancel the contract (since you have 3 business days to cancel). Expecting a fight, I was surprised when they made it sound so easy to cancel. They would be sending out a "documentation expert" to have me sign the cancellation forms. As you can probably guess, he ended up just being another sales guy. A very nice sales guy, but a sales guy nonetheless. After an hour of signing forms and going over why we were cancelling, the documentation expert ended up giving me their "take or leave it" price of $12K. At that point, he couldof told me that they would do it for free and I still wouldn't use them. I am sure that they do good work, but if you do decide to use them, act like you are going to cancel the contract in order to get their best price. If they want to play games with their customers, we should play games along with them. The shame of it is, I probably would of used them if they gave me that $12K from the get go.
Description of Work: We received a quote, well, multiple quotes from this contractor for a new roof, gutters, attic ventilation, and some flashing replacement.

Response from Power Home Remodeling
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. However, I’d like to clarify some items in your review, as it currently paints an inaccurate picture of what to expect when choosing Power for your remodeling project. It is true that we offer a discount for customers who are willing to move forward with their projects immediately. We visit hundreds of customers everyday and by offering those homeowners a steep discount for an agreement during the initial visit, we’re able to eliminate costs from the potential project. As it is more cost-effective for us to come to an agreement on the project right away, we push those savings onto our customers for their trust in our products and team. ‘Before and After’ pictures are valuable resources that can be extremely useful when advertising the quality of our products and services. When the circumstances are right, we offer the homeowner an opportunity to participate in this program in order to deliver further savings. The final quote you received was a result of the participation in this program. Lastly, we do send representatives to meet with customers after a cancellation request so that we know the reason for the cancelled project wasn’t an error on our end or something we can easily correct. Often times, we’re able to clarify a detail that may have been miscommunicated or work through a number of issues that may be holding the homeowner back from moving forward with the project. If you’d like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to contact me directly. I am very pleased with the entire process, from the sale presentation to job completion. I had all of my questions answered and requests honored. The work crew was very efficient and professional. The crew chief was friendly, personable and helpful. He was also on the job site 90% of the time the crew was working. I felt that was very important. The only issue I have is the clean-up: there were a few areas where the debris was not properly removed - such as the canopy of our gazebo, the front stoop and the small deck over the garage. Otherwise, it was a pretty painless process.

We had a visit this evening from a representative named Sean. He arrived at 5:30 PM. By 6:30, he was the only person I would have considered buying a roof from. By 7:30 I thought we should consider some other quotes. BY 8:30!!!!! I wouldn't purchase a roof from him or this company if it blew off while we were talking. He knew our dinner was ready and he knew we had a 4 year old who was waiting for dinner. He had been informed by my husband that we had no intentions of making a decision this evening, several times but he pressed on quite aggressively. I finally became very angry and told him to pack up his stuff and go, that at 8:40, I needed to feed my son and get him to bed. Instead of leaving graciously and apologetically he became angry and rude. I will never seek services from this company!

Thanks for taking the time to leave us feedback - each customer experience helps us improve our processes and, ultimately offer higher levels of customer service. First and foremost, I want you to know that I've passed along your feedback to the appropriate individuals in management so that they can address this directly with the remodeling consultant that you met with. Regardless of particulars, our customers should never walk away with the type of feeling that you did. For that, we sincerely apologize. Regarding the length of the estimate, we take the education of our customers seriously and informing them as to all the ins and outs of their project can take time. At Power, we only do things "the right way" - which means our product quality, warranty service and installation processes are second to none. When making a decision about the renovation of your home, it's important to us (and important to our customers) to understand how we are different from other contractors and specifically what we do to separate ourselves from the competition. This information is vital in making a decision on what can be a large investment and, on the whole, our customers appreciate our thoroughness. A group of 3 technicians arrived promptly at 8am. The whole process was explained in detail, the truck was unloaded, 9 Windows were removed, 9 new insulated Windows were installed with proper caulking and colors matched moldings already in place. They cleaned up everything, vacuumed the floors, put my air conditioning back in the window and demonstrated the functionality of my new Windows. Ricky (Marco), Mark and Nick were the technicians and they were efficient, respectful, hard-working very knowledgeable. I am 100% satisfied. My lifetime WARRANTY has been activated and I will be a repeat customer.

I'm very happy with the new roof. It looks great, performs excellent so far and we have had some pretty severe rain storms. I've receive complements from my neighbors on great the new roof looks. The workers were professional and completed the work on schedule. There was a slight hiccup with communication on the start date. The office called to tell me that they would not be able to start the job that day, but it was never scheduled for that day. It was a good thing they needed to cancel what they thought was the start day because we were not going to be home that day. The dumpster did arrive that day and sat in the driveway for a few extra days, which really was not a problem for us. The price was on the high side but with quality of the materials and the transferable lifetime warranty I think it's worth it.

Overall and am pleased with the new gutters, and the fascia and soffits look great with the new covers. I was a bit surprised when a truck and crew from Cavallari Gutters showed up to do the work. I was under the impression that Power Home remodeling was going to do the work but in this case they served as the contractor and hired a sub-contractor to do the work. I'm happy with the results but I just wonder if the overall price would have been better without the middle man.

Excellent job. This is the second project we have used PHRG for, and both were pretty much flawless. The project manager called a day in advance to confirm the date and the work. The dumpster showed up when they said it would and was removed when they said it would with zero debris (and not a single nail) left anywhere. The project manager called at the end of the job to make sure the job was completed as contracted. They happened to bring a double crew so what would have been a two day job got done in one. It was clear these guys do this work all the time. The spare decking they brought to replace any rotted decking doubled as protection for windows as the old roof was being removed. Tarps were hung from the roof to the ground to allow the debris to slide down w/o hitting anything, all landscaping covered, and furniture was moved from my deck to get it out of the way of the debris (and back onto the deck when done). Despite the fact that we have a large, complex, roof structure, it appeared as though the crew simply knew what to do and when to do it as there appeared to be very little active communication required to get the work done (which left the onsite manager looking as bored as the Maytag repairman most of the day). Quality of the products and workmanship was also excellent to the extent I could tell from the ground. I went for the "full monty" job, including adding an intake vent system along the lower edge of the roof, Timberline Ultra HD Lifetime architectural shingles with 50 year non-pro-rated warranty, breathable deck armor instead of the typical tar paper, and a full ice/water shield. Also included ridge vent shingles, which my old roof (the original builder's roof) did not have which, enhances the roof's appearance. Got lots of compliments from neighbors on how great the new roof looks.

My overall experience can be described as excellent! I learned about Power HRG at the Green Expo held at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC in April 2015. I listened to the salesperson describe, in detail, the main features of the windows. I had wanted to replace several windows for years. So I accepted the salesperson invitation to a free estimate. I was warned that the estimate visit could take 3 to 4 hours. And it did take 4 hours. The time spent was valuable to me because I learned everything I needed to know about the windows. The Remolding Consultant was professional, personable, and a pleasure to do business with. As was the PII Manager. The company gave me a confirmation call three days before installation day; the project manager called me the morning of; and the project supervisor and laborers arrived on time. Keeping in touch with me as the customer is highly important to me because I've had bad experiences in the past with workers showing up extremely late or not at all. My six windows were installed in 4.5 hours. That time included the prep work, clean-up as they worked and moved from one area of the house to another, the final clean-up, and walking me through the inspection etc. I was told that the supervisor and the laborers specialize in windows. I was impressed with their work ethics and the quality of their work. Half way through the job, the Quality Assurance Manager appeared to review the work and explain the warranty process, the Energy Star performance ratings, and to answer any questions. The windows are beautiful and I'm happy to tell you that I have ordered 8 more windows.

Insulation went extremely well. The installers were very courteous and professional. Our son had to be taken to the hospital the day the project began. My husband and I tag-teamed the whole weekend. With all that going on, the installation could have added stress to our home, but it didn't. It went effortlessly. The guys came in, did their job well, and left. We didn't get in their way and they didn't get in ours. Thank you Power Home Remodeling!

The buying process started with a series of demonstrations and comparisons. First was a comparison of constructions types of the windows (e.g., welded vinyl versus bolt-together frames), then types of thermal glass, a demonstration of the thermal transmission properties of the different types of glass, and then durability (by whacking a decently sized sample window of theirs onto a nail several times without any damage to the glass - scared the dog but got the point across. Power HRG does several types of home remodeling projects (roof, siding, gutters, windows, etc.) but their workmen only do one type of project which means you get window installers who only do window installations. The communications process from the time of signing the contract until project completion was superb. We were contacted at multiple points along the way, including a meeting regarding what they were going to do, and what we needed to do to prepare the work area. We got several calls confirming the project start and end dates, etc. We were never in the dark about anything. Day of the installation, we got a call in the AM that the installer was on his way. He arrived when he was supposed to, described what he was going to do, and how long it was going to take. We got another call confirming that the project was proceeding according to plan, and then about 2/3 thru the installation, one of the company managers showed up to review the project with me and gauge how things were going. Milos, the installer, was clearly an expert. Been with the company 8 years, he took his time, was very personable, meticulous, and careful. Windows fit perfectly in every opening, and every external seam caulked to perfection. Pretty much a perfect installation, way better looking and significantly better quality than the original windows. Zero issues with our landscaping, dirt in the house, broken glass, trash, and other problems you might anticipate happening in executing a project like this.
Description of Work: Power HRG removed and installed 4 replacement windows in my living room, which consisted of one picture window, two double hung windows, and an arched top window. I received three quotes in total, all three were with 10-15% of each other. We picked Power HRG because they took the time to explain what made their product and services different and better than others

They arrived on time. The project supervisor called and informed me of the on-site supervisor's name and phone number which I appreciated. The roof was done first. They had trouble with my outside electrical outlets as they kept tripping the breaker (which was not their fault) so they had to come back the next morning to finish. The clean up from the roof project was fantastic! The crew were all very polite and respectful. One little glitch with the roof project was that they removed my satellite dish (which was expected) but they threw it in the garbage. Their instructions said to remove and dispose of the dish so I didn't find fault withe the on-site crew. Those instructions were incorrect. The project supervisor called me and assured me that the dish would be replaced at their cost. Luckily, they were able to remove the dish from the garbage and my dish provider was able to still use it as it was not damaged. The only cost was a $50 charge for the service order which Power paid. They assured me that they would stand behind their work and they did!! Day 2 of the project was soffits and fascia. They arrived on time and were also very polite and professional. They started out with a glitch also! In my original project specs. I was going to have the soffit and fascia replaced on my garage as well as the house. Two weeks before the project was to have started, I sustained water damage to my garage which was going to involve some insurance and some demo. I called Power to cancel that portion of the work that was to happen. They were wonderful and worked with me to remove that portion of the project. Unfortunately, the crew did not get the message about canceling the garage work and started to remove some of the soffit and fascia before I realized what they were doing. I called the project supervisor and AGAIN he assured me that they would replace the materials that they had already removed from the garage. Like their promise, they did without cost to me. I can't stress enough how fantastic the people I worked with at Power were to me. They met and exceeded my expectations. I read some of the reviews posted on their site as well as on Angie's list and noticed some people didn't have good experiences so I was a little concerned. I had nothing but a great experience with Power!! Even though there were a few bumps in the road, they were fast to respond to all of my concerns and took care of everything immediately. From the first experience with a Power rep. when they came to give me my free estimate to the people I worked with over the phone to the crew that was on-site, I can't say anything but GOOD about this company!! I feel good about having the lifetime warranty on my roof and gutters. I know now by having little problems happen on the project that if I have any problem down the road, Power stands behind their product and service!! Their cost is higher than many other companies but the Lifetime warranty is worth far more in peace of mind knowing all I ever have to do is to call them and they will take care of their product. I would highly recommend this company without hesitation!

High-grade windows. So beautiful I don't want window coverings. Unbelievably fast. Everything done in a day, like clockwork. They vacuumed afterward, even the stairs!
Description of Work: All windows replaced. New front door including framing.

The price was outrageous and they lied about the product warranty. Cost and warranty. What they said was simply untrue.
Description of Work: It's Power Home Remodeling. We were going to repair the roof.

From reading other reviews of Power HRG, it sounds like my overall experience was pretty standard. The short version is that the people and products seem very good, but company practices and sales tactics leave something to be desired. They do the "this deal is only good if you sign while I'm here" bit, but lo and behold if you agree and then cancel afterwards you can get a significantly better deal. They are very nice about it, explaining that they save money by completing sales in one visit, but it's still very car dealer-esque. My "B" for "Professionalism" is really a combination of an "A" for the installers and the individual people I talked to along with a "C" for the company's overall sales tactics. My "B" on price means that they matched other prices I was seeing online, but only after I canceled when initially quoted a much higher amount. I debated whether this should average to an overall "A" or "B", and I just can't stomach giving them an "A" despite the product and installation seemingly warranting one. The sales tactics simply must change. If the only "B" was on "responsiveness" or even "price" I could justify an overall "A". The good: * Very high quality products, or at least it appears so so far (not that I have too much of a frame of reference; I've never had window work done before, and am not generally handy) * Professional, efficient work crew. They left no mess behind, were pleasant to talk to, came within their time window, and finished when they said they would. Despite me having accepted a discount for agreeing to be "flexible" (meaning that my scheduled install date could be postponed right up until one day prior, based on the needs of the company), the original agreed-upon install date was adhered to. * The company appears to be in it to win it, for the long haul. They claim to have in-house mobile application development, in-house manufacturing, and they constantly refine their sales tactics. They are expanding. I believe they will be around long enough to honor their warranties. You learn a lot (or at least are told a lot) when you spend a combined total of over 8 hours talking to sales people and managers in person (see below). * The sales people and project managers were very polite and easy to talk to. I learned a lot about my house. The salesman practically gushed about how good my existing roof is, and so he did not try very hard to convince me to replace it. I appreciated that. The bad: * As others have stated, allow for 5+ hours for the initial sales presentation and estimate. It was partly my fault that it took that long, because I asked for estimates on a variety of products (roof, basement windows, main floor windows, etc). So probably an hour was spent by the salesman walking around outside and inside, and going into my attic. But there was a solid four hours of demos, explanations, recommendations/negotiations, and paperwork. I enjoyed the conversation though. * The window efficiency demo is a bit of a farce, because they ignore the difference between the various types of heat transfer. They use an IR heat lamp to simulate the sun, and their windows do much better at preventing heat transfer that way than other windows. But that only helps you on a summer day when the sun is shining directly on a particular window, and curtains or blinds can solve that problem just as easily. It has zero to do with losing heat from your house to the outside in the winter, which would be my primary concern in terms of efficiency. * The paperwork process is very inefficient because they have to hook up a portable printer and print dozens of pages out, and then manually scan or take a picture of each piece of paper after you sign it or review it, and then print copies, and wait for them to upload to their server. * As I mentioned before, the salesman are trained to do the "this deal is only good if you sign while I'm here" bit. I didn't really have a frame of reference on price, so I signed, knowing I had three days to cancel. I did some research and found significantly lower prices from reputable vendors, so I called and canceled. They gave absolutely no hassle on the phone and didn't require me to mail anything in. However, they insisted on having someone stop by to "give me cancelation paperwork" in person, so I knew the hard sell was coming. They sent a different person (supposedly a manager) who was very nice and polite, not pushy. I signed all the cancelation paperwork, and only after that was done did he look at his computer and say "ah, I see a new promotion has come up in the three days since you got your estimate". How convenient! The promotion wasn't a huge discount, but then he offered me an additional 20% off if I agreed to have a flexible install date. This of course was never offered during the original negotiation. I had never indicated what price I was willing to accept, but this brought the total below my threshold. I agreed to sign up again. He said "If you think you will cancel again, don't bother signing, it's not worth the hassle", and I believe he meant it. This process took another 60-90 minutes. During the actual installation, they sent a "QA" manager to see how things were going. I mentioned my issue with the sales tactics, and he acknowledged that they do them and that some people don't like it. He said they constantly test out new deals and incentives to see what works. This conversation lasted over an hour. There is a voice in my head that says I shouldn't deal with people who use tactics like these. But the practical part of me says that a lot of people/businesses use questionable sales tactics, and that negotiating is always the name of the game. I saved over $1300 by canceling the initial deal. If they had really wanted to play hardball or screw me over, they could have made it difficult for me to cancel, but they didn't. In the end, I just want to work done, well, for a good price. I think I achieved that.
Description of Work: Replaced five existing basement windows with 4 glass block windows and 1 standard "hopper" window. Garage door external capping replaced.
