Power Home Remodeling

Great, it's our third time using Power. I know it can be done cheaper and before we used them, starting 3 years ago, I tried very hard to hire local folks for the work but no local contractors returned my calls or they called a month later. Powers stands behind it's work. Everyone from sales to setup to work and followup is terrific.

The work was excellent. There's a lot of preliminary contact with Power and then follow-up. Our two man crew was terrific. Since we'd had a very satisfactory job 2 years ago, we were used to the frequent points of contact with Power. We could have gotten it less expensively but I was confident that we'd get what we wanted and at the end of the day (literally) I wasn't thinking, "I wish I'd remembered to tell the guys x y or z"

I have two lifetime warranties on the 8 windows I purchased from Power Home Remodeling in 2011. Although they are a little high price wise, the outstanding service makes them well worth it. My warranty will cover me as well as the next person who occupies my house for many years to come. When I noticed that two of the window seals had broken due to the very hot sun beating down on them, I called the service number and was given a specific time the company could schedule the repair. The person who answered was very polite. Since the company needed the exact measurements of the windows to be replaced, he instructed me to read off the measurements on the labels in the upper portion of those two frames. He explained that the factory would be making new ones and that if I would be home on August 8 between 9 and 10 AM, the problem would be fixed. On the scheduled day and time, the field service manager George Barthel was at my door. Everyone loves good workmanship as well as good manners and George delivered all that with a smile. Within 20 minutes, the job was done. This is not the first time I called the company. After Precision Builders installed new siding on my house, one of the windows on the lower level began to leak water profusely. I called Power Home Remodeling, and they sent out a service man within 2 days to fix the problem. Although they found that it was actually caused by the way the siding company installed the new siding, they corrected the problem. I cannot say enough about this company. I give them a 5 star rating and will refer them to others.

The entire job was done 100% to our satisfaction. This is the second time within 2 years that we use Power Home Remodeling for home improvement. The first time, Power installed our bay windows which we receive great, positive comments on the work done. This time, Power has installed 4 main entry doors at our house and they did an outstanding job. The whole Power staff are true professional to the core. The sales person was very attentive to our needs and she did a super job to accommodate what we wanted. On site, the entire crew was courteous and efficient. We highly recommend Power Home Remodeling Group in your next home improvement project.

Everything went great, and they are a great company. They service was excellent, and I am very pleased with the windows. This was the first time I used them, and would recommend them 100%. I received a new energy efficient windows. They have a lifetime guarantee on the product. It is a warranty that last for the whole lifetime of the house, not my lifetime. They are not the cheapest, but the quality is top notch. They are very good at explaining the benefits of the product. It was very easy to get a hold of them the phone.

Everyone I dealt with was very polite and professional. The work was quick and clean and the crew excellent. From the salesman to the install and inspection crew, everyone was very thorough and informative. The crew arrived early and completed the installation in record time. I was very satisfied with every aspect of the job.

A salesperson was walking through my neighborhood, knocked on the door, and asked if I was interested in getting a roof replacement estimate as Power had apparently done some work in the neighborhood recently. We scheduled an appointment for the next night (I think around 7pm). 2 nice and very personable guys came out, talked a bit outside with me about the house/roof age, etc, and gave the roof a thorough going over (pictures from the outside and from the attic, etc). That took about 45 minutes to an hour. After that they sat down in my kitchen and gave me a full presentation about roofing, the condition of my roof, etc which took another hour. It was going on and on for at least another 45 minutes after that, but they finally gave me a price of $15,000 for my roof which was only good until they left. If I decided to go with Power after that, the roof replacement would cost $20,000. I told them I made the appt for the estimate only because someone stopped by, and I knew I needed a new roof soon, but that I had gotten no other estimates recently, and I wasn't able to make a decision that night. Actually I had gotten a few estimates about 2 years ago which were in the $6000-$8000 range; so either prices went up a lot in 2 years, they were giving me a lot more with this job, or they were just overcharging me A LOT!. Since the Power guys visited, I have had 3 other estimates: 2 for about $7,000 and 1 for $10,000. Not sure if Power was banking on me as the customer not doing research or getting other estimates. They ended up leaving around 9:45pm which was ridiculous. After all this, I have to say having them come out was quite a waste of my time. Also giving me a "low" estimate which was still double what most other companies have given me, and an even higher estimate of $5,000 above that was really an insult. That is 2 or 3 hours of my life I will never get back. In summary I was impressed with the presentation, the sales guys that came out, the info they provided, but I was really put off and angry afterwards about the amount of time they spent in my house only to give me a ridiculously high price. I certainly would never consider Power for work on my house.

Smooth process and done quickly. Very impressed with the amount of quality control checks made. Actually looking forward to winter.

After getting 3 roofing estimates, we were just about ready to pull the plug and "go for it." Then my wife ran into a Power salesman in BJs who convinced her to set up a sales appointment. The sales appointment lasted about 4-5 hours. At end, we decided to go with Power for our new roof. First, what we do NOT like about Power. They force you to make a decision at the time of the sales call. They try to get you to purchase "add-ons" that you likely do not need, e.g. fascia boarding. The product is expensive. Now what I DO like about Power. All of the people that I have dealt with are extremely nice, professional, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. I am convinced the product is excellent. They provide a life-time warranty that transfers to the next owner. During the sales presentation, I got an education in roofing that I found very helpful. The salesman looked at the other estimates and was able to explain to me why Power's price was higher. In the end, the salesmen eliminated a lot of the extras that we really didn't need, and we ended up spending about $5000 more than we would have with one of the other roofers. I think this extra cost is worth it for the quality of the materials used and for the lifetime warranty. The job was done in 2 days which, I think, is amazing. The clean up was impeccable. You would never know anyone was here. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Job went fine. Installers were right on time and completed the job in about 3 1/2 hours. Had to put up new facia and 125' of gutter and downspouts. About 15 minutes after the job was completed we had a downpour. Gutters worked great except for two little seams which they will come back and fix.

Everyone was thoroughly professional. Appointments were kept on time and all phone calls were promptly answered or returned. Clean-up was excellent leaving our property as if no one was there. I would readily recommend this company to family and friends as well as use them again ourselves if the need arises. Although not inexpensive , I would not think twice about using them again should the need arise.

I've had several homes prior to this one and the one before it I completely gutted and remodeled it. I KNOW how much things should cost. I also know when I'm being sold BS. I downsized and I was looking to insulate an attic in a small rancher that measures 1200 sq ft. There was some insulation up there but some areas didn't have any at all. I was getting quotes from various companies and came across Power Home Remodeling on Anjie's list. They had gotten very good reviews. I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews because I experienced pretty much everything on that list. If you go on Yelp, you'll get more of what my actual experience was. Funny how the reviews differ from one sight to another. Wonder why that is. When I called, the gentleman on the phone kept insisting that my husband must be present. My husband has Alzheimer's and doesn't know what day of the week it is, let alone able to make a decision as to anything else at all. Which I explained to him. He then wanted to email me their website and kept informing me about what an excellent company they were. I just want an estimate. I scheduled an appt for 10 am and was called the night before. He again insisted my husband be present for the sales pitch. Again I told them he has Alzheimer's and he wasn't going to be making any decisions whatsoever. Then he had the nerve to ask me if I "have power of attorney." Excuse me. I OWN the house. I've been having work done on this house steadily since we moved in in November. Never has anyone questioned me like this. I was very close to hanging up on him. I thought "would you be doing this if I were a man?" Apparently, judging from other reviews, yes. Yes they would. But I figured, no, just wait for the estimate. They were initially very adamant that I get other estimates and compare them because they are so "competitive" in their pricing. So I figured I'd just hear them out. Then after confirming with him that I would be home the next morning he told me someone would call again at 8am to confirm again. What? Why? I just confirmed. Why are you waking me up? I go to bed very, very late and am sometimes kept awake by my husband. Sure enough, at 8am they called to confirm again. And asked that both parties be present. Whatever. I didn't even argue. The salesman showed up. He was a nice enough guy. I have experienced more annoying salesmen. But I hate it when they try to sell you the company and not the service you want. All I want is the bottom line. Cut to the chase, give me a written estimate and leave. That's it. I watched videos and looked at newspaper articles about how wonderful the company is. Then I got the price. Now mind you, the first estimate I got was from a local business that has been in business since 1971 with an A plus rating with BBB. He is licensed, insured and has workmen's comp. He quoted me $1999.00 to install pro vents (which there were none) and to bring the insulation up to R-49. He said he'd also throw in an insulated cover for the attic opening. He'd also do some foam sealing. This salesman pretty much put aside any real estimate for just the blown in insulation and kept trying to sell me on putting a foil sheeting material up all over the attic making it a metal box, saying they would insulate every opening with foam and put insulation in the electric outlets. Since this visit I've done extensive research on this and the general consensus seems to be "spend your money on other, more effective energy saving methods". However I explained I had spent much more on this house that I had initially figured on and I just wanted some insulation so all the heat didn't go out the roof. The estimate for $1999 made me ****** as it was. I questioned him regarding putting vents in the attic. He stated I didn't need them. I told him the first guy told me there weren't any vents in the attic. He said he meant that I didn't have a "ridge vent". Actually I do have a ridge vent. And all of the other insulation contractors also stated I need baffles put in because there weren't any. They also said I needed fired-rated hi-hat covers. Something he never even looked at. So their price for just blown in insulation was $6600 and for the sheeting etc was....wait for it...$19,800. I just looked at him like, seriously dude. Uh, no. Not gonna happen in this lifetime. Then he asked me how much I thought it should be. No, not playing that game. Just give me an estimate. Then he brought the price down to $15,171. How did that work for me? It didn't. Then he brought it down to $11,921. Nope. Then $10,800 with the understanding that he was seriously "under estimating" the job and when the other guy got there they would probably raise the price. What "other guy"? Oh, and the price was only good if I signed today. Nope. Nope. Nope. Then he said he shouldn't but he'd hold that quote till Monday. Ok. But it's still gonna be "No". Then he wanted to know if I wanted anything else done. Windows? Roof? How about a new front door? That can save a lot of money. I've spent the last 8 months redoing this house, literally, from basement to attic and I am not starting another project. I want to be done. So, no. I'm not going to use them. And I have always received a written estimate whenever someone has come to give me one. Always. Either they sit at my table and write me up an official estimate or they email me one within a day or so. And it always has exactly what they are going to do listed. ALWAYS. Nope. He just wrote some figures on the back on a piece of paper and that was it. No listing of the services that were to be performed. Nothing. Just prices. All the pretty glossy brochures he showed me he took with him. No folder, no real estimate. I would stay far away from this company. Oh, and I bought a kit from Amazon for $12.00 to seal all the outlets myself. The salesman also requested I "shred the estimate" because they aren't supposed to leave them on first pricing. I have never, ever in my entire life heard of anything like this before. So after numerous insulation contractors coming to give estimates, I've settled on one for $1590 who is licensed, insured, bonded and has workmen's comp. And excellent reviews on Angie's list, Google and Yelp. And I'm curious as to whether this review actually makes it to getting posted this time as my other one did not.

The workers showed up on time, were clean, and meticulous. They were very courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend them as they went above and beyond. If something was needed that was not available, they would get it for me. We are very happy with the process and results.

Power home remodeling group in Iselin did a great job with the remodeling of the exterior of our house. They checked in often before, during and after the process. Everyone who was involved in the process was courteous, respectful and attentive. Great job!

After delay of the job starting, everything went really well!

The whole experience went great! From the presentation and quality of the windows to the installation and cleanup. I did extensive research to find quality vinyl windows and this company fit the bill,

Quality material and workmanship. The installation process went quickly and easily. Excellent customer support throughout the planning and completion process.

Perhaps not the least expensive roofing company but an excellent value nonetheless. The salesman was knowledgeable and took the time with my wife and I to explain our options and exactly what would be involved in the roof replacement process. In our case, almost all of the old roof foundation plywood was in very bad shape and we chose to have it all replaced as part of the project. Following the salesman’s visit, we also investigated the materials that were going to be used for our job and confirmed that they were all high quality. The installation team was excellent. There was a team supervisor on site overseeing the installers and available to answer any of our questions or concerns. They all arrived on schedule. The job itself involved removing an amazing amount of old, rotted plywood down to the rafters, replacing a few of the rafters which were warped, and putting down new plywood across the entire roof. It was a challenging project as our house has a number of “add on” rooms and three skylights. As a result, it has a very complex roof. The installers addressed each challenge efficiently and with an eye to detail that has resulted in a new roof that is both functional and beautiful. Cleanup was also excellent. I have not found a single piece of scrap wood, piece of old shingle or a nail remaining around the house. Overall, we could not have asked for a more professional job. In fact, based on this experience, we have now contracted with Power Home Remodeling to replace our aging and largely inefficient gutter system.

Installation went great! The installer, Robert, was on time. Installer was very courteous. Told me what he was going to do before he started. Covered all flooring with covers to protect hardwood flooring and carpeting. Asked for the location of the bathroom to use as necessary. Very neat and clean, both inside and outside of the house. Cleaned up all debris, dirt, and dust. There were no marks, dents, or scratches on the walls or wood framing around the windows. Cleaned the windows. Did a great nice job caulking -- smooth and seamless -- perfect on all of the windows. Demonstrated how to use the windows correctly (open, shut, features). Provided guidance and advise on what not to do in order to preserve the lifetime warranty, i.e., do not drill any holes into the window/window frame if/when installing a security system or window treatments. The windows are great quality. Easy to operate and the features make them easy to clean. They look beautiful. I can already hear a difference in the noise quality -- I hear significantly less street traffic. The removal/installation of the nine (9) windows took one day, one installer.

When we got in contact with them we were in the middle of adding another addition to our house. Power Home Remodeling waited four months after we originally scheduled them to do work in order to accommodate this other company and their work to be finished. We thought we were going to loose Powers contract or receive a penalty but this was not the case. They kept in touch with us throughout the wait and were very understanding of our situation. When they did come out to do the work they were very professional. They called before they came to perform work, they respected our property, cleaned up all the debris after themselves. They used our yard to do some work but instead of dumping the materials on the yard, they laid a tarp down and respected our landscaping. The onsite project foreman came out every day and showed us the work they had done each day. They really treated our house like it was their own. There were a couple of times when they ran into a problem on site and instead of throwing up their hands, they consulted with us and gave us options of how to fix the problem. They found some porch posts that had rotted out in the front of the house which we would have never seen had they not notified us. Instead of leaving it they offered to replace those as well, when we opted in to replacing those posts they laid out the exact costs and exactly how it would be done. They had one incident were they dropped something and broke a branch on a bush. Instead of covering it up they came and found us and let us know. Even though it was not a big deal it was very professional of them to come let us know about it instead of covering it up. We would work with them at anytime for any other projects in the future.

The windows were great, but the soffit that they put on our house was coming off and it took a long time to get somebody out to come and fix it. A couple of people came out and said it was okay, and we finally had to get a supervisor out and he fixed it. It is a big company. They did nice work, and the gentlemen who came out were all very nice. They should listen to their customer better. I would tell people to watch their work closely. They do a good job, but if there is a problem, they have to be persistent in calling them to get somebody out. I think their prices are okay. When they said they were coming, they were very punctual. I love my windows.

A nice young man came to my door and asked if I would be interested in a free estimate. I said sure - after a 3 hour long intro to the windows I was interested. The salesman started going over the price. I kept saying since I just put in solar that I could not afford that. When he said the 17,779. I was sold so I signed the contract. When the engineer came to measure the doors and windows he started telling me first that I couldn't get the doors with the blinds that I so desperately needed because my doors were not standard size and they would have to remove all my custom woodwork if I chose those- at my cost to replace by the way!!! I was thoroughly disappointed, I really wanted those doors. Here's the kicker to now get the doors that I needed was going to cost me an additional 4, 500.00 or more, not less cause the doors would not have the blinds!!!! I have to pay more and they are the ones that messed up and they are not the doors they sold to me. I know people make mistakes, but this is why I am angry -they squashed the deal rather than take the loss for their mistake, they didn't even try to maintain the deal, they wanted the salesman to come back out to speak with me again, I told them if they couldn't do it for the same price that I signed contract for then I did not want them. I would advise against EVER using them. That was the worst dealing I have ever had with a company! I don't write these, but as soon as the engineer left I got on the computer - I am livid that they had such disregard for their customers!! They may have an A rating but if there was something less than an F would give it to them!

Everything went well - the workers were very professional and efficient. The windows are really nice and the bay window is very large and gives the whole living room an open, airy feel.

Literally, the best experience ever.
