Description of Work: They were professional and indeed reliable but we later worked with another plumber who discredited their suggestion that we could not repair some faucets in a shower which would have been a much more expensive job and was not necessary. This plumber did the repair and it has been fine ever since. Pays to get a second opinion...and this is when you wonder if they are pushing for the bigger job just for the money. I am speaking generally when I say this...

+ -1 moreI called Reliable after getting an estimate elsewhere. Tim Kelly came and gave me an estimate which was substantially less than the previous one-for the same work. We agreed upon a start date and they arrived as planned. The work was started at 8am and they left around 4pm.The work was completed as agreed and they were both friendly and informative.They came back and finished the removal of some soil and cement the following day. Weeks later Tim helped me with an insurance claim regarding the cost of the excavation. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Dug up part of driveway in order to replace water lines from house to city water and drainage lines at curb.Pipes were replaced and hole back-filled They came back twice weeks later to put more soil in the hole washed away by rain.I didn't re-cement right away due to cold temperature.

+ -1 moreThe faucets in the bathtub we very old and eventually needed to be replaced. The hot water faucet was leaking and it needed a washer replace. Reliable Pluming came out to check out the situation and he stated that It made more sense to get the new faucets replaced, becasue of the old age of the faucets and stems. The plumber showed us the valve in the basement to shut off the hot water in the bathroom, so we would not wast anymore hot water. The day before they came out the cold water faucet began to leak. The plumber was on time and very professional. He did a great job. I had a question concerning the heating system. Instead of just leaving, he stayed around and checked out the heater. I would recommend Reliable Pluming to family and friends. Eventully we are going to have them come out to clean the heater and install sink faucets as well.
Description of Work: They installed 3 valve 11 inch center-set , central brass 3 valve with all new piping and necessary fittings. All new faucets and stems.

He listened to what I thought, allowing me to show him what I already tried to do....quickly diagnosed the problem and had the drain clog cleared in 20 minutes. I would recommend Reliable Plumbing for similar services.

+ 0 moreGreat experience, I'm so happy with my new bathroom. A dream that I really never thought would ever happen. In 38 years I have had many plumbers and they have been mean, some didn't talk and one even told me my bathroom was illegal, I thought that was the way everyone worked, then I was told about this wonderful group. I have no complaints it took the time I thought it would and it is a beautiful finish. I will reccomend Reliable to anyone and everyone! We will be calling them back to do more work in our house. i am proud to call them our plumbers.
Description of Work: I had them here on 2 occasions the first was leaking faucets and needed a new water heater. The price for this was perfect and water bill came down within alittle over a month, I now have a very normal water bill. I was also having a leaking problem that I couldn't fix yet so the suggestion to get around this worked and is still working, so am very happy. Reliable was highly recomended by two familes that I know and I was so pleased. A few weeks later I called to have them come in and give me an estimate on my 1st floor bathroom Now I was well aware of the problems with my bathroom and had been looking and pricing for years so when they gave me the estimate I was thrilled it was a very reasonable price especially with all the work that needed to be put into this project. First step was to gut the whole bathroom, 2 young men did this very messy and very hard job in a few hours they covered all my carpet and were so pleasent to deal with and they never took a break. The came back once more to remove the bathtub and once again it was a messy and hard job and they did it well and cleaned up the mess. The original tub was under the window which would mean taking a shower in front of the window and for years we had a shower curtian over the window and of course over the bathtub. Ken who did this wonderful and very hard job suggested to move the radiator by the window and the bathtub where the sink was, what a great idea and does it ever look nice and does make the bathroom more efficent and we now have use of a window that we never had the breeze alone coming in is such a wonderful change that old window was never used. I could go on and on but the point is this was a very wonderful experience and Ken is so talented and could see this new bathroom in his head before we even got started.

A previous plumber told us that he was not able to find the fitting that we needed to replace the drain pipe that was leaking on our clawfoot tub. He said that he would have to move our tub, which would mean tearing out and replacing the tile flooring around the tub. Ron with Reliable told us that he would find the part, and was able to get it after devoting hours to hunting it down. While they were doing the work on the tub, we asked them for their price to replace our toilet, which was backing up regularly due to calcification. They replaced our old toilet with a very nice low-flow toilet for $300. Their work was excellent and the overall experience with them was very positive. We highly recommend them!

+ 0 moreNot well. I did not choose this company . A neighbor suggested a plumber who called this company when i was deperate to have someone clear the drain. At first they seemed committed and reassuring that they would fix the problem . Apparently they didn't assess the problem correctly and missed the significant blockage in the pipe from the yard to the street and didnt' resolve it adequately since the jetting of the pipe was done incorrectly . I now need to find a truly reliable company to fix the line to the street which will cost me another 4000. They could have saved me this cost had they coordinated the jetting of the pipe to the street with the other work underground. As the problem became more complex they didn't seem to have the coordination or the resources to fix the problem. Their drain cleaning was lazy and not done throughly and I had to on two occasions call roto rooter to actually do the work at a premium cost. Reliable's drain cleaner ( Ron ) walked through my house with wet boots without hesitation. Although Tim was polite and friendly on the phone he was completely ineffective at resolving my problem.
Description of Work: Multiple visits to assess and clear a blocked sewer drain were ineffective . Recommended excavating sewer pipe and replacing from yard to house with a jetting of the pipe from yard to street (4200.00) . did not jet pipe on day of excavation ( guy didn't show up to do it ) . guy came out weeks later after the excavation was closed up and performed a " jetting" somehow down an 8 foot hole with a u bend. No one saw it done . 2 months later the sewer backs up again .Came out once snaked the drain and said it was clear but didn't go out into the street. sewer backs up again . called twice no one returned my call until the next day! had to call roto rooter who charged me 335.00 to clear the pipe to the street and to video the entire thing. wasted money work/family time and was consistently misinformed that the line was clear. not reliable at all

+ -1 moreInitial quote was the lowest out of 3 other companies and offered discount for paying by check instead of credit card. Showed up by 9am and was done by 3pm - broke up the sidewalk and street with jackhammer but dug the rest by shovel. Very labor intensive but very happy it did not involve digging up entire yard/sidewalk. Everyone involved was professional and on time.
Description of Work: Water was leaking around curb stop. City of Philadelphia issued a notice that our water would be shut off within 10 days if not fixed (thanks, Philly - so much for a tax refund this year). Reliable replaced about 45 feet of water line between water main and water meter inside house. Involved digging in middle of street and small hole in sidewalk then forcing the pipe underground without digging up the entire yard/sidewalk.

+ -1 moreTim came out to give me a quote and was extremely personable and thorough. They also gave me the lowest estimate by far. Ken was the plumber who did the work. He came to my house every morning for about 6 mornings. Ken was polite, easy to be around and cleaned up after himself nicely. Ken also consulted me about some minor changes he thought would be a good idea. He was right, and he even offered me some welcome advice on parts of the project that had nothing to do with the plumbing.
Description of Work: I moved the location of both my kitchen and bathroom. Reliable made all of the plumbing changes for both of these projects.

The crew showed up on time the next week, did the work efficiently, workers were polite. They bid $1600 less for the job then another company. The work quality as far as I can tell is very good. I would recommend them for other jobs.

Description of Work: HAD SOMEONE ELSE BEFORE COME OVER, THEY ACTUALLY TOLD ME THEY HAD TO TEAR DOWN MY DRIVEWAY, DIG IT UP AND FIND THE PROBLEM AREA, THEY ALREADY CHARGED ME 90 DOLLARS, AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME ANOTHER 1200 TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. SO I GOT THIS NUMBER FROM SOMEONE WHO USED THEM BEFORE, I SET AN APPOINTMENT, THEY WERE THERE ON TIME, AND THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR 40 DOLLARS!!!

AFTER SPENDING NEARLY $2000 ON A NEW PIPE, THEY WOULD NOT COME BACK TO UNFREEZE THE PIPES, JUST 24 HOURS AFTER THEY INSTALLED THEM, WITHOUT CHARGING ME AGAIN. FOR GOOD REPEAT BUSINESS, THIS SMALL PRICE TO PAY WOULD HAVE MADE ME USE THEM AGAIN, NOW I WILL NOT. THEY ALSO GOT ME EXCITED BY TELLING ME THAT THEY "MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIX THIS PIPE FOR $600" WELL THAT TURNED INTO $2000 AND IF THEY COULD NOT DO IT FOR THE LOWER PRICE, THEY NEVER SHOULD HAVE SAID IT. THE WORK WAS OK I GUESS, BUT AGAIN I THINK THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS ARE HORRIBLE. THEY ALSO WANTED TO CHARGE ME $125 TO PATCH UP THE DIRT PILE THAT WAS LEFT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. I DECLINED.

Description of Work: OUR SEWER PIPE WAS BROKEN. THE COMPANY BACKHOED THE YARD TO EXPOSE THE PIPE. THEY CUT OUT THE DAMAGED PIPE, REPLACED IT, AND ADDED A CLEANOUT FOR FUTURE PROBLEMS. THEN THE YARD WAS BACKFILLED.
