They showed up as scheduled, did a great job installing the new roof with quality shingles, didn't destroy the landscaping, and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. They charged me what they told me they would, and I don't have a thing to complain about.
Description of Work: Roof replacement - Stripped old roof, applied new, and performed thorough cleanup.

Description of Work: On 4-1-13 I called and left a message asking someone to call me to set up an estimate. I was interested in your Big Deal but would not sign on with a company until I met the representative personally. They never returned my phone call. On 4/4/13 I left an email for them, again requesting they call to set up a meeting. They never responded to my email. On 4/8/13 (I think that was the date) I left another message for them to call me to set up a meeting. They never responded to my second phone call. If this is the way they do business I am certainly glad I didn't purchase your Big Deal. Such a lack of communication is unprofessional and ignorant. I wouldn't have them darken my doorway, let alone work on my home. Shame on them for such horrible treatment of potential customers! UPDATE: I have been contacted by Dan at Summit who expressed their apology for lack of communication. They were willing to do whatever it took to make things "right" for us.

 + -1 moreIt was great. They showed up when they said they would and had two guys working on it. I was here when they worked, so I could follow what they did. They outlined a big squared where the leak was and replaced the shingles and plywood. You cannot even tell there was a leak.

 + -1 moreIf they respond I would consider using them. I do not like the limited options this review affords. I would not rate someone an F without at least having a discussion with them. I also have no date to enter for n My last contact with them as we never connected. 2/22 - After learning of my poor rating due to non-response to my attempts to get a quote on a roof replacement Summit called and apologized. We scheduled a date a couple days later for his inspection of my roof and I received a quote the following day. This quote was very competitive with a few others I had received and I agreed to their proposal. Both old layers of shingles were removed, some plywood replaced where necessary and a new roof layed in a single day. The owner and my contact just left after inspecting the work that was completed and all my questions were answered satisfactorily. I am very satisfied with the whole experience and would like to revise my rating based on that.

 + -1 moreI contacted Summit (Sean McDonald) regarding puddling moisture in the sub roof area under the eaves of my home. Sean crawled into the small space and also went up onto my roof, evaluated the situation, and said that he thought the moisture was a result of condensation, and that I should move some stored items to allow better air flow. He thought that this would alleviate the problem. He was thorough in his evaluation, and he did not charge me, as this was an "initial consultation. " He said to call him if his recommendations did not solve the problem. I was very impressed with his responsiveness and his punctuality, as well as he detailed assessment of the problem. And I was impressed that he did not try to sell me a service that I did not need. I will for sure contact Summit for any future roofing needs.
Description of Work: An evaluation of a moisture problem that I was having in a storage area under the eaves of my home.

 + -1 moreThey showed up promptly and provided a very clear detailed estimate which was significantly better than competitive estimates. They scheduled the work and showed up on schedule. There was a mixup with the dumpster which was left in the road, but they called the company and handled that promptly. There was some damage to a small tree from the weight of the tarp, so I'd recommend that people take steps to protect plants that might get in the way, before the roofers come. Overall, Dan and Sean and his crew are very good to work with.
Description of Work: The company put a nice temporary cover over missing shingles blown away in the hurricane and then replaced the roof with a new ridge vent.

 + -1 moreRoof was eventually checked and gutter cleaned, though for the first visit absolutely nothing was done though I had already paid the bill. i complained and the owner was responsive and decent. he was overwhelmed with responses and needed time to catch up. he came back and cleared the gutters. He replaced a few missing slates at my request, trying to make it right. While he said my roof was checked for problems, the very next month the roof catastrophically failed - on a small flat roof- with damage he never caught. Don't know if he ever looked at it. He was a very nice guy but I would not use him again.
Description of Work: gutters cleaned, several slate tiles replaced. Roof checked for soundness.

Description of Work: As a result of hurricane Sandy, we had a very large hole in our roof. We tried to find someone to fix it quickly but found that most contractors were overwhelmed because of the storm. I immediatly went to Angie's List and found Summit Roofing. The gentleman who answered the phone was very understanding and told me he would contact Sean who I believe owns the business. Sean stopped by that day, even though he was also in overload and said he would get me an estimate the next day and if it was acceptable he would come back and fix the roof. I felt the price was more than fair and went forward with the repair. The roofers showed up on time and did a great job.

Leak sources were identified and corrected - no leak problems reoccurred in year and a half since then. Roof anchors were installed where requested in highly professional manor.

 + -1 moreI set up an appointment, and they never showed up at the agreed time. I tried calling them several times, they never returned my calls. Eventually I gave up. Update: After posting this review, Summit roofing did contact me and completed the service from the big deal. I was willing to give them a second chance, and had them did some gutter work for me that they priced reasonably and did a good job. I would use them again, and improved my ratings due to they did try and make it up to me.
Description of Work: Bought a $200 Big Deal from them for two hours of roof service.

They accommodated us by agreeing to schedule to complete the necessary work on the same day as the electricians. we greatly appreciated this. Sean from Summit came out as scheduled on the same day as the electricians, on time and completed the job as per the proposal/estimate. He was very knowledgeable, pleasant and personable to deal with. He made it possible for the electricians to install my bathroom exhaust fan on the same day. We highly recommend Summit Roof Management & Contracting and would hire this company again.

 + 0 moreOverall, I had a great experience with Summit. They offer a 15 year warranty on their workmanship which is better than the other estimates I received.
Description of Work: Summit came out and gave me an estimate for replacing my roof and gutters. My neighbor needed a new roof too, so Summit gave us a little discount if we both got it done. My neighbor did a ton of research on the various shingles each of the roofers that gave us estimates were using. Summit uses the Owens Corning shingles and, from our research, they seemed to be superior to others. Summit came out and ripped my roof off and put a new one on in 1 day. The same goes with my neighbors roof. It was very quick. They replaced the bad wood where appropriate as well. In addition, I had my gutters replaced.

 + -1 moreI asked a few roofers from Angie's list to take a look at the same issue. All other ones gave me too excessive estimates, at around $500-$1000. One estimator even asked to replace the 2 vents and put metal sheets against the wall connecting with the roof, with a total cost of $1200. Summit Roof gave me the most reasonable diagnosis. I didn't end up using them because we had somebody put in caulk in those areas for free this time. But I would consider calling them again if any roof problem shows up next time. Overall experience was that they were very friendly with a low-cost family business atmosphere.
Description of Work: We had some wall tape on the ceiling of the breakfast room coming off. We suspected it was a possible leak on the roof and asked them to take a look. Their diagnosis was that the only possible leaks could come from around the 2 vents on the roof and a roof corner, where more sealant should be applied. They would charge $250 for the job done.

He did the job in the time he said he would do it. It was a joy to watch them do their job because everything went so smoothly. I would give them an A+ overall.
