They gave us an estimate in a timely fashion and it was a reasonable estimate. the crew was professional and it was done within a week of us offering them the job. Their work is guaranteed and we would use them again.

I was very impressed with Summit Roofing from the estimate to the clean-up. Daniel went out of his way to find us larger roof samples so we could pick a color we really wanted. The crew arrived right on time and worked until dark. Our job was quite large since all the decking had to be removed and some of the rafters had to be sistered. All new plywood was installed, smart vents were added, the skylight was replaced and Owens Corning Tru Def Duration shingles were installed. The installation was done in two days. The third day clean-up was completed, the dumpster was removed and Sean completed the finishiing details. We appreciated that we didn't have to pay anything until the job was completed to our satisfaction.

There were no problems. We chose them to do the job because we thought the young man who came out to give us the estimate was professional and their price was reasonable. We were the most confident in them.

He came on time and checked our roof. Informed us that there were a few areas that were bad and we needed a new roof - no surprise to us it was 22 yrs. old. He said that he would patch it free of charge but wouldn't guarantee it for the winter. We understood and had him do it. He was very nice and didn't try and push us into anything we weren't ready for. Honest and professional.

I eventually had to appeal to angies list to get a refund of the coupon because I never heard from the contractor

Everything went well and within the cost estimate. Good customer focus and very responsive.

They fixed two leaks in my roof, including replacing the flashing around all the vent pipes.

Sean was awesome! He came out the same day I called him and 2 days later the work was done perfectly. I was nervous when it poured a couple of weeks after he left but there was no need to worry. My roof is fixed, looks great, and NO MORE LEAK!!! Sean is the consummate professional and a pleasure to work with.

Dan arrived on time and did a visual inspection of the roof from the ground while describe the issues. He then went up on the roof (two story colonial) and did a more thorough inspection based on our discussion. He recommended that there were some minor wear issues with the roof none of them warranted repair at this time. He suggested I have the roof inspected in two years to just monitor for problems. He noted there was some minor wind damage and suggested I keep an eye on it if we have high winds.

We had roof damage from hurricane Sandy in October 2012. I used Angie's list to find company to repair the damage. Summit was the first to reply of three inquiries. One replied but took to long to visit and one never replied. Summit came and gave quick estimate after surveying the roof . As i had to wait for insurance monies they were willing to give the roof and excellent patch in two areas that were able to with stand the winter months. After the insurance was settled they promptly fixed the entire roof and relate damage.

When they came to assess the damage, they gave me a clear understanding of the damege (took pictures while they were on the roof), so I was confident they had actually located damage. They offered me a fair price for the work, and were flexible with scheduling the repair. The day the did the repair they arrived on time, and were finished quickly. I would highly recommend them.

They were prompt about responding to my request and when awarded the job (low bidder), they were on time. Very good cleanup including magnetic scan for nails. I called them to do some minor repair on siding (not their fault) later on and they were very prompt and through. I found the owner to be very honest and straight forward. Absolutely no complains and I would use them again.

After a bad storm in June I noticed a wet spot on the ceiling in an upstairs room in our house. I called one local roofer who strung me out for a week before telling me he couldn't come. I then called 4 other roofers, 2 of them never called me back at all. One called back right before Summit did and came and looked at the roof. When Summit called I told them I already had another roofer on the way. Summit said if that didn't work out to call them back. The other roofer came and did an initial inspection, but didn't have a ladder to get on the roof and couldn't find the leak. He said he would return in 2 days. He never came back. I was getting very frustrated with the roofing business! So I called Summit back - I am glad I did! Sean from Summit was everything you want from a vendor - courteous, up-front, knowledgeable, prompt, and most importantly, kept his word about coming out when he said he would. Sean got up in the attic and almost immediately located the cause of the leak (holes caused by masonry crews when the home was built) and came back the next day to to seal the holes. He also walked around the roof and looked for any additional holes or cracks to seal. I would gladly recommend Summit Roofing & Siding Contractors.

Our roof got damaged due to recent storms and needed to be replaced. Dan McDonald came out to do an inspection and was very professional and courteous. In addition to the estimates, Dan was kind enough to put together a formal letter for our insurance company containing his inspection summary. Dan was also willing to meet with the insurance agents, if we needed him to to help us justify our claim. The job was scheduled within a week. Sean, Dan, and the rest of the Summit crew showed up on time and completed all the work within 1 day. They did an awesome job! We've had a great overall experience with Summit Roofing from the initial estimate, to scheduling, and work completion. They showed up when they said they would, started the job on time, completed everything that they said they would do, and did a great job at cleanup. Would absolutely use them again or recommend them to our friends and family.

Dan (owner) and Sean arrived for the initial estimate on time--actually called to check on whether or not I would mind them arriving early! They spent approximately 1 hour looking at the roof, going into the attic, explaining the work that would need to be done, and discussing the warranty, product, etc. This estimate session was very informative. They were friendly and helpful and took time to look at several leak issues that we noticed at 1 skylight and a bathroom fan opening to the roof (this has been very problematic for us). We selected Owens Corning shingles and the color options were really very nice. We needed to reschedule once as a result of a supply issue; however, Dan immediately contacted me. I had selected a designer type of shingle (special order) and the men noticed that the supplier had not provided enough shingles in the correct color to complete the job. Frankly, we were happy that they inspected the order before starting the roof! The crew was polite. Daniel, the crew leader, was extremely conscientious. It rained toward the end of the job and he inspected every area and addressed one in particular--during the rain--to make certain that there were no leaks. Very hard workers. Stayed until the job was done despite temperature/humidity. Sean made a trip to the house the following day to wrap something up and reviewed the work with my husband. He reiterated that Summit wanted us to be very satisfied with the job. Dan has responded to every e-mail question within relatively short order and answers phone calls, etc. throughout the day. I could not be happier with the customer service of this company. Roof looks terrific and the warranty is substantial. They provided proof of insurance. Bathroom no longer leaks! Got through yesterday's storm without any water so feel good about the entire job! I recommend this company as top-notch. Pricing is fair/reasonable. We had 3 other estimates and 2 were lower BUT no warranty with one and no option of shingle company. In addition, lowest amount of personal liability (1), and no walk-through (2) so there was significant "guessing" involved related to the problems of the roof; one estimate was provided based on "satellite" data--no personal contact and no actual roof inspection. Lots of unknowns that would likely have increased the price to or above Summit price. Thank you! The roof looks terrific!

fine, they needed to come back with matching shingles to replace the ones that had blown off. I liked them and the work was done on time but I am still waiting for the report/photos that were promised to be emailed to me.

Free inspection. Came when promised. Took pictures and showed me where there were some issues. We had a leak and that is what prompted the call. Gave an estimate for the work and then scheduled an appointment. Came on time and did work. Will be checking back after the next several rains to make sure leak was fixed.

I spoke with Daniel about my need for a new roof. We scheduled a day and time for him to come out and provide a quote. He came out and measured the roof, explained Owens Corning roofing products that they use, and provided me a color sample booklet. I mentioned the Angie's List deal they had, and he adjusted the quote to match that pricing. I decided to go ahead with Summit, and we scheduled a date a month or two later. Upon roofing day, the roofers arrived on time and I was met by a gentleman I hadn't met previously. He was in charge of the worksite, and was the best bi-lingual individual, as most of them spoke only Spanish. Everyone was very nice and respectful throughout the experience. They covered my gardens and tried to prevent damage, although we did end up with some areas that got squished. One month later, they are mostly recovered, so no harm done really. While repairing some rotting roof decking they noticed a cracked beam, and suggested we fix that as well. In total, I ended up with 17 4'x8' sheets of plywood that needed replacing, and a beam that needed to be sistered. They removed both layers of shingles into a large rolling dumpster, received the delivery of new material via a flatbed truck with a crane, and applied the new roof, as well as repaired all of the previously mentioned items, in one day. Sean, the owner of Summit, and Daniel stopped in occasionally throughout the day to bring more plywood and check on the work. After they cleaned up and left for the day, I noticed some bits of roofing material that were missed, but not much, and only a few nails that the magnet didn't find. Sean stopped by the next morning to do a final check, which he approved of. Later that day, I noticed a few of our walkway lights were missing and not working. After some discussion with Sean and investigation, it was determined the workers removed some of them under the thought they were solar, and didn't notice the power cables going to them. I eventually found the missing ones in some brush and Sean came out a few days in a row to repair them. All is well now with that. A few days afterward, I was working in my attic and noticed a wet spot near our chimney. I spoke with Sean and he came out to check the flashing. Apparently the caulk at the flashing had shrunk or something of that nature, which he repaired. Overall, I would say it was a good experience. A few hiccups along the way, and some issues that could have been prevented, but they were taken care of.

I needed a new roof on both my house and barn, but dreaded the process of selecting a roofing contractor due to problems I had heard others had had. Specifically, my concerns were: Paying too much/getting ripped off Paying too little and having the contractor skimp on quality and workmanship Starting and completing the job as agreed upon Correcting a leak around the chimney that other contractors were unable to fix Inadequate clean-up, particularly nails in the driveway and at the barn where our horses could be injured. Summit Roofing exceeded my expectations. All my concerns were addressed. Summit?s quote was competitive, but not the very lowest. I chose Summit because Dan and Sean MacDonald favorably impressed me with their experience and approach to my concerns. I later learned why their quote was competitive. During the job, I observed that these guys have an excellent rapport with their installation crew which resulted in a high level of productivity on the job. Following a steady rainstorm during June 6-8 (Tropical Storm Andrea) and more rain the following week, I noted no water seepage whatsoever around the chimney. I was delighted and relieved to have this problem finally resolved, a problem that had eluded other roofing and chimney contractors. Finally, Summit impressed me with the care with which they cleaned up the nails, especially around the barn.

They were doing the service during the earthquake and the hurricane. They did everything they could do but there really wasn't much they could do under the circumstances. They obviously had to come down and wait till everybody what was going on whether there were further tremors which delayed the construction by a couple of days which then hit the major hurricane. They were lovely about it but it just not good. The work they've done we're happy with now but at the time not pretty. On the outcome of their work we were very happy with it.

Provider was responsive, communicated promptly, and estimated job based on our requirements. We wanted to replace roof on main house with shingles matching existing ones on garage addition. Other roofers provided much higher estimates and seemed to pull high numbers out of the air with no written proposal. One roofer said he would refuse job if we didn't go with new higher-tech shingles (which didn't match garage). Summit presented a detailed breakdown on work to be performed. Dan (sales) was very professional and made us comfortable about proceeding with Summit. Their estimate was very reasonable. They required no payment at all up front, and billed us only after work was completed. The billed amount matched the estimate. The job took a long, 12 hr day and then some. Roof looks great.

Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish. Daniel and Sean responded quickly to my initial call for an estimate, came when they said they would, and walked me through their thought process on why the roof needed to be replaced. They were very friendly and happy to answer the questions I had, and they sent me a proposal over email very quickly. From then on, we primarily communicated via email, which was fine with me (it's difficult for me to talk on the phone during the day, so I appreciated the email option). My job was a bit unique in that I wanted to them to rehang my aging, sagging gutters during the roof repair, which required talking about gutter and hardware choices -- again, Daniel and Sean were helpful in going over my options on this. Summit was very responsive in terms of letting me know when the work would be done. It did take a bit of time to get on the schedule, but that seemed primarily due to the permit waiting time and the weather. They were aiming to finish the job in one day, but when they couldn't quite pull it off, they gave me the heads-up that they'd need to come back. The one small critique I have is that they were not able to come back to finish the job exactly when they said (not 100% sure why -- it may have just been scheduling difficulties). It actually ended up being a few days later. During that time, we did get some rain. I was concerned about the roof holding up, as it wasn't 100% done, but Daniel responded to my email promptly and assured me that they'd come out during the rainy day to make sure everything was holding together. They did, and a few days after that, the weather cleared and the job was wrapped up, with everything looking great. I most appreciated Summit when I got my final invoice. Not only was the overall cost extremely fair, but they even deducted a line item because they were able to reuse my existing gutter hardware. A lesser contractor could have easily charged me anyway, but Summit took the honest route, and I appreciate that. It's not every day that your final invoice is actually LESS than what you were expecting! Getting two roofs replaced on your house is a big job and a big expense. I've had bad experiences with poor roofers in the past, and was nervous about getting this one right -- but I'm happy to say that Summit delivered. I picked them because of their fantastic Angie's List rating, and once again, the reviews don't lie. For an amazing value, responsive service, and quality work, Summit is the obvious choice.
