We have a problem roof as the chimney is in the middle of the roof. We have had a lot of trouble with our roof leaking around the chimney. My father had this home built and used the cheapest builder he could find. Clearly, they did not know what they were doing as they installed insulation all the way up to the sheathing. As a result, our roof could not breath. We moved into this house in 1988 and had to have a new roof installed between now and then. We hired a local contractor and he replaced some of the damaged sheathing near our chimney. That is when he noticed the insulation problem. He suggested that we tear out all of the sheetrock from the inside of our cathedral ceiling, pull down all of the insulation, put in baffles, and then put the insulation back up. There was no way we were going to do that. He told us our roof wouldn't last long and that the only other way to fix it was to tear off the sheathing the have baffles put in. He also "fixed" the flashing around our chimney. We probably could have gotten away with that roof for several more years if the flashing he installed had been done correctly, but it wasn't and the roof continued to leak. Knowing that the roof was sagging around the chimney due to the flashing problem and wanting to get a roofing contractor that was highly rated, I decided to join Angie's list. Summit was the most highly rated in the area, so I gave them a call. I love the job they did. They fixed the breathing problem and the roof looks very beautiful. Of course, time will tell with the flashing around the chimney, but I am confident that they fixed the problem.

They seem to be honest. They are more punctual at times, but overall they are relatively punctual. Their communication is extremely responsive at times and not so responsive at other times.

Summit will not be repairing our roof

Sean responded very promptly to our call and followed up with a personal visit and quote immediately. Following our acceptance of the quote, work was delayed a few weeks mostly due to weather issues. Sean and his crew arrived early on a Monday morning and worked straight through even after the sun had set. The roof was 99% finished in one day with just a small amount of trim and vent work to be completed the next morning. Sean and all of his employees were polite, professional, and did a very good clean-up to our property. It was quick, painless and the new roof looks great.

Everything went wonderfully. Sean made me feel comfortable from our first phone conversation, through his very punctual estimate, and throughout the completion of the job. A terrific experience.

The final cost was exactly what I expected, plus the cost of the building permit. After a weather delay, and then the Thanksgiving holiday, I was scheduled between storms. The crew showed up on time and after a little preliminary prep work, began removing my old roof. After about an hour the old roof was completely removed. They worked all day and the job was complete, including cleanup by 4pm. I was pleased with the cleanup. The roof was tested the next day, because not only did it rain, it poured! Thanks for a job well done.

Excellent experience. Took a little time to get it scheduled and started, mosly due to weather. Did the job in 3 days, a little longer than planned. All as described. Good communication. Perfect cleanup. Got the Angies List discount! I did a LOT of research and they were the one to do the job. Recommended to a neighbor, who also had good experience.

This is an update to our previous report submitted on 9/1/11. After the Company saw our original report on Angie's List, they immediately called to apologize for missing the original appointment and showed up the same day to address the leak. I think this shows their willingness to do a good job and pride in their reputation and we were happy that once they were notified of the problem they worked to fix it immediately.

He came out and took a look at my roof and reported that the roof was in perfect condition and no work needed. He could have very easily said that work needed to be done and charged me. He was very professional and honest and I plan on having him back to do some work on my shutters.

I am usually reluctant to pay anyone in advance for services for obvious reasons, Summit was very nice and within two weeks came out to look at our roof. The gentleman caulked our roof in spots and explained that he thought the roof spout needed to be extended but otherwise found no further areas that he felt contributed to the multiple areas that we had leaks in.. He was done caulking within 30 minutes or so and promised to come back and finish the job the following week. We have put in a call or two since but the job remains unfinished and they did not return, It has been over a month. The company people were very nice, but the job was paid for and not completed. Hopefully it will be in which case I will update this review. I don't recommend the Angies List "deals". If you have to pay in advance there is no control over the job. We purchased another "deal: for our HVAC units and while that job is now complete, it took 4 phone calls and 2 missed appointments to get it done. It should be much easier than that.

Sean was very pleasant to work with. He kept to his estimate and kept me posted as to when the work would begin. The crew showed up on time, worked throughout the day and cleaned up very nicely. He also replaced the damaged ceiling parts underneath. No problems.

Initial contact with Sean was positive and we made an appointment to meet about a week after our first conversation. He cancelled the first appointment b/c of a family emergency - no problem there - but then cancelled the second appointment because he said our house was too "outside their usual area". I had to leave work a little early and rush home twice for a non-meeting. I specifically had requested that Sean call my cell phone, which was not done either time and could have saved me the trouble. I feel that he should have at least researched the distance for him to travel initially and let me know right away. I feel this was handled very unprofessionally.

Sean and his staff did a complete replacement of my roof. Weather was an issue and caused a couple of understandable delays. Once the weather cleared, the job was performed quickly and efficiently. His staff was very respectfull of my home and my neighbors (no loud yelling or music). The staff did a pretty good job in cleaning up the stuff torn off the roof. Roof looks good!

Was prompt about making an apppointment to give me an estimate, but never showed up, and never called to explain.

Excellent work, clean, they did leave some nails about which we found and removed but otherwise the job looks like it was done correctly....we'll see with the next rain!!!

Extremely poor business. No response. No return calls. It's like he just disappeared. I hope he's ok......

Job was performed ontime. Looks like a quality repair job. Area was was cleaned up after job.

Had some roof shingles blown off the roof during the high winds during the weekend of 2/19-20. Sent an e-mail to Sean at the company on Monday, 2/21 and he called me within 30 minutes and set up an appointment for that afternoon. Sean provided me with an estimate and indicated they would repair the damage within 2 or 3 days. The repair was done 2 days later to my total satisfaction. I feel this company is a standout in this field and would use them for any future roofing job, small or big.

Sean was very prompt in returning my call and for our estimate appointment. He and his crew were professional and and efficient, getting all the work done in 2 short days. My only complaint was that upon close inspection to the garage doors, the caulking was slightly messy. All in all, I'm very satisfied with the work done, the timing, and the price. I would recommend this contractor.

Bought house in September and found leaky roof in November. Section of roof where addition was constructed was not designed properly and allowed water to pool and leak into house. Patching by previous owner did not rectify problem. Summit came out, developed a more comprehensive plan of dealing with the problem and we have been leak free ever since.

They were true professionals, from coming out to give us an estimate to completing the work. The workmen were friendly and do a good job cleaning up.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the problem is fixed. I guess we'll see after the next rainfall. Overall, Sean's team did a great job and the repairs look great.

They did a very good job. They were well priced and prompt in what they did. The actual leader himself showed up and he was easy to deal with and get along with. He did exactly what he promised.

What a pleasure. Sean quickly replied to my email from Angies list. Quoted in 1 day, then scheduled within the week based on my acceptance. The work was done on-time, right the first time. I am still waiting for quotes from other contractors I called. What a pleasure, and so easy to work with. I can't recommend them enough! And will absolutely use them again.
