Our Mission at Patete is to help our clients solve the problem of creating the right design, with the right materials, with the best designers, with the BEST installation staff, and the BEST service. We do it better than anyone else in the industry with real professionalism.
I had been collecting estimates for a bathroom remodel from several companies and received very thorough explanations of what to expect, materials to be used, building techniques, time involved, cost, etc., and expected a similar experience with Luxury Bath. While the salesman who came to the house did take measurements and asked general questions about what I wanted and the amount I wanted to spend, he told me next to nothing of his product. I felt as if it was assumed that I already knew everything from their advertising. I was shown no material samples, not even photographs of completed work. I was pushed to make an appointment then and there (using my phone to call their office, which I thought was odd when his cell phone was sitting next to him) to travel to their showroom some thirty miles away, to meet with an interior decorator and the salesman. That is when I would get my estimate. After he left, I decided that I really felt no compelling reason to drive to their showroom, and decided to consider the other estimates I received instead. I cancelled the appointment the next day and almost immediately received a call from the salesman asking me why. I said that I decided to go with someone else's estimate, to which he replied that I didn't give him a chance to make one. True enough, but every other person who came to my house did.
Description of Work: I asked for an estimate for a bathroom remodel.

They couldn't have been better! They were very conscientious and left the room clean at the end of each day. They were happy to answer any questions I had. I wanted to make some last minute changes, and took them under consideration. They really made a world of difference with my kitchen. They redesigned such a small space and made it look twice as big. I couldn't be happier with this kitchen!! I have a child in a wheelchair, and they were able to level the floors and open up my doorway. They took it in stride and made it all come together.
Description of Work: They tore out my old kitchen, down to the studs and put in a whole new kitchen.

The designer arrived at our home at appointment time. He took measurements and went back to the store to design a new kitchen. We went to the show room to pick out materials when the plan was completed. If you want to be in a noisy, distracting and impersonal environment, then this is the place for you. The owner and his son walked past us several times and never acknowledged us or thanked us for considering their company. How rude! We felt as if it was an assembly line. Our input was dismissed if it did not coincide with the designer. We found another designer/remodelers who really listened to our needs.

They kept every appointment, and promise they made. The initial sales call was scheduled around our availability, and Barry showed up right on time. He took time to explain the entire process and make valuable recommendations. His "hands on" experience installing the product enabled him to explain in detail what we could expect to see happen. He gave us a price which seemed a little more than we expected, but we gave him the job, because you get what you pay for. Sooner than expected we got the call back to schedule the work to start. They again worked around our availability. On the appointed day, the craftsman showed up on time and prepared to do the job. I was impressed at how hard he worked, and the obvious skill he had at his trade. He was friendly, and very receptive to every question and request we made. A two day job was finished in a day and a half, and the results are wonderful. This was top quality workmanship, and we really did get what we paid for. Of special notice was the respect this man showed for our home. He kept the area neat and clean, and used drop cloths everywhere he had to walk. On the last day he vacuumed the area out completely, including our front porch where he had been doing some of the prep work. The end result is great. We are very pleased.

Did not have them do the work. The salesman who came was incredibly unprofessional and very dismissive. It was obvious that he was not interested in quoting the work (shower replacement only) that I wanted done. Too small of a job for him.

First day was remove old, second day was install new, and third day was curing. Able to use on the 4th day. I was not able to be at the house while the work was done and I had no concerns with their workers. There was one minor problem, however absolutely no hassle in getting Luxury Bath to fix it quickly. Very good Company, employees, and an excellent product. Shower base, seat, and fixtures were excellent quality. I'm very pleased and would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Tub to shower conversion. Removed old tub and put in it's space a shower with a seat. Included a fixed shower head and a hand held shower head.
The story starts when you enter the Patete showrom. The salesperson was amazing. It took about 3 hours to pick out everything for the kitchen. From there I went to Bridgeville Appliance to get all the replacement appliances. Bridgeville works with Patete and made everything so easy. I have never had workman that were so courteous and skilled. The first 3-4 days were used to literally gut the kitchen. When they removed the 3 layers of flooring, they showed me that there was a big hole in the subfloor. It was immediately repaired. I had never had a dishwasher because of the way my kitchen was constructed. They were able to close up a window and build a wall. I now have a full size dishwasher and a large pantry in a kitchen which originally only had 4 cabinets. Everything is custom built and looks amazing. There were little extra things that they did that made me want to tell everyone how great the guys were that work for Patete. There is a foreman for the project that schedules everything and lets you know which days the different workman would be there. They were all prompt, did there job, and cleaned up after themselves.
Description of Work: My kitchen was gutted. All new lighting, custom cabinets, appliances, flooring, ceramic tile backsplash, granite countertops and painting. First, they had to remove 3 layers of old kitchen tile flooring with the top layer being ceramic. They had to close up a window and build a wall. All the electrical wires were replaced and all new recessed lighting put in. The men who did the work were amazing. They transformed my kitchen.

Extremely well. Everyone we came in contact with was extremely professional and the work was excellent. We are very pleased with both bathrooms and the quality of the products and work.
Description of Work: We had 2 showers replaced/installed. We were very pleased with the service from start to finish. The representative who came to give us an estimate had good suggestions based on what we told him we wanted. The quality of the material and workmanship is excellent. We had a minor issue and Luxury Bath sent a person to address the issue immediately. Extremely satisfied.

We were previous, happy customers of Patete. They did our last bathroom and it turned out well, so they were the first (and only) remodeler we contacted. We knew the drill about picking all the finishings and walking through the design with the designer, so the process went rather quickly. The two main differences this time around was we were on a tighter budget and the subject bathroom was smaller. We made the designer aware of our budget concerns while picking out the items. When went back to the showroom for the "reveal", we were blown away by the cost. It was $5k+ more than our last redesign (which was 3.5 years earlier)! When we finally were able to speak, we asked why it was so expensive? They took the posture that we picked out all top-of-the-line items and it was our fault. This frustrated us to no end since we told them our budget constraints and our bottom line. If we picked the most expensive faucet, toilet, tile, etc. throw up a red flag and let us know. I told them that this bathroom was almost 20 sq ft less than the last one they did for us and had fewer custom features, so even with a few high end fixtures, how can it get that high? There was virtually no demolition and no painting and no new plumbing either. Their response was that oil prices were higher and therefore the material cost more. Even to this point, we still wanted to work with them. What killed the deal was that they could not identify how we can reduce the price -- ie. if we swapped faucet x out with faucet y, we would save ### dollars. We were told we had to go through the entire process all over again, picking all new elements, and hope the end result falls within our budget. With a toddler and a newborn, this was impossible. We passed on Patete and went with a contractor who gave us a break down of each item and activity down to the penny, allowing us to stay within budget.

Since this was my first remodeling project ever, Patete made me feel comfortable with the process. I liked how everything was handled together - they were a one stop shop for all electrical, plumbing, flooring, etc. You go to their showroom and pick out every detail with their designer, then another appointment is scheduled to go over the pricing and they give a computer generated picture of the end result. Their quote was on the high end, but I liked the process and I hired them for the job. Overall it went well. The end product was very nice. Although it was extended by a week because one of the 2 workers on my project quit, leaving just one to do everything. My only complaint would be that while installing the exhaust fan, the worker told me due to current code it must be exhausted using a new stack through the roof ( currently it was exhausting to the attic). I didn't question it since it was code. Well, i discovered during the inspection process of selling my house that the worker in fact did not create a new stack. He just reconnected it to the existing vent which was exhausting into the attic. Did he forget? Or think I wouldn't notice? If the latter, what other hidden shortcuts did he take?

They did an outstanding job of trying to satisfy me and give me what I really wanted. I didn’t want to tear out because it was a perfectly good bathtub, and it was just yellow. The way they work is that they line everything with acrylic sheets. They lined everything, so the entire end of the bathroom is now lined in white acrylic, including the tub. The reason for that is I didn’t want to tear out the tile in the rest of the bathroom. They had everything prepared in advance, and they made the measurements and came out. I had used them earlier for a shower replacement, and I requested the same installer who did the shower, and he again did an exceptional job.
Description of Work: Patete Kitchen & Bath Design Center installed a molded acrylic bathtub inside the old bathtub. They first framed it in, put up water resistant backing board, and blew it in. Then they caulked it up. They also lined the window.

The gentleman providing the estimate arrived on time, quickly looked over my bathroom and then give me a ball park estimate of $7500 to & $8400 depending on which liner product I would choose to use. While I knew my project was a little more complicated thatn some bathroom remodels, I thought the figures quoted seemed much too high and I choose not to have the company do the work.

We thought that they did a good job on showing us products and putting together our thoughts and desires and are happy with what we chose and the final installation but were less than impressed with the works who came to do the install. We thought that choosing a "well known" company and paying a bit more than what their competitors charge would have insured us of a quality product with quality installation. Unfortunately this was not the case. We will not use them again for any other renovation.
Description of Work: We had our bathroom gutted to stud, floor and walls, and then we had a new floor and walls installed. We had a complete shower surround installed along with a toilet, vanity, fan and medicine cabinet. We liked the quality of the products but we had several problems with the installation of the shower surround and the fan. We had to have them replace the back wall 4 times, not securely fastened to the wall, before it was properly secured. They kept on claiming there was a flaw in the product and not the installation. Finally on the fourth install they were able to secure the wall properly. The ceiling fan had not been vented properly which they had to fix. They also did not insulate one of the walls which then caused "sweating" to take place while the shower was on. They did correct all of these issue after several different appointments. We thought that they did a good job on showing us products and putting together our thoughts and desires.

Evey time I hear their ad on the radio I want to scream " That guarantee is bogus." In less than a year after the tub was installed it started to leak and feel like you were in a boat. Because the home had changed hands in that short time, Luxury Bath would not honor their lifetime pledge without an additional $1000. This guarantee is obviously not on the product or workmanship. Actually, I don't know what it is on?

The entire project was accomplished in two days by a single installer (with a brief visit by two plumbers to install the drain and connect the new faucet). The work was done very efficiently and professionally. The installer consulted me on all decisions involving configuration and placement of accessories. Drop cloths were used to protect the home as much as possible from dust and dirt. All debris was hauled away, and the site cleaned up quite thoroughly. I am very favorably impressed with the work and the company.
Description of Work: I had an original shower stall removed and replaced with a larger modern shower. The job involved tearing out a curtain wall and ceiling, as well as studs and framing; then reinforcing framing, installing "greenboard" walls, subfloor and ceiling, then covering the greenboard with acrylic panels and installing new shower pan, doors and hardware.

At firts they didn?t provide as many options as other companies I contacted. I didn?t feel that I would have been as much in charge of the project. However, they did respond quickly. I?m still in the estimate process. The owner ended up coming out and discussed the project in great detail, showed me all sorts of options, and made very good suggestions. I think this is a very conscientious company for coming out and making the corrections, and I have decided to use them for this upcoming project.

Overall, it was as painless as a procedure of this type can be. I was not there for the dismantling and removal of the incredibly heavy claw foot tub that was there, but I know it had to be very difficult, both in terms of sheer weight and logistics. Despite this, when I returned home there was no sign of what had taken place. I must honestly say that the man who did the lion's share of the work was absolutely one of the best workmen I have ever encountered. This was costly, but my shower is totally beautiful and it has changed the look of the bathroom entirely.
Description of Work: Fabulous company and an excellent workman. I had done my ordering back in June for a shower to be built into my bathroom. I did have to wait until September, because everything is custom made to precisely fit the specific space. It was well worth it. My home is over a hundred years old and nothing is easy! I had a very old claw foot tub removed and a completely new shower installed, filling up the entire space where the tub had been. I had met with the representative months before and selected the shower and hardware. He called me when everything was in, and installation began three days later. The workman was very skilled, hardworking, and respectful of my home. Additionally, his attitude was professional without being arrogant, unlike some other workman I have encountered from Angie's List. In two days I had a knockout shower and I couldn't be happier. Definitely much more expensive than those companies that put up a molded fiberglass unit, but this is completely different, and it definitely shows.

Overall, the interaction with the president, Steve, and the designer, Maureen, was very professional and attentive. Their "outside guy," Jim, was great, and he certainly knows his "stuff." We had several meetings to lay out design, select items, and look forward to the renovation, only to be really, REALLY disappointed at the quote at the last meeting. The cost of this small bathroom is 1/3 of our mortgage!!! One can only imagine what they would quote us on our future kitchen job! We simply cannot afford to spend that much money. It certainly seemed that the work would be done as a quality project on a timely basis. After our initial meeting, we had even padded our budget to allow for cost overruns, but their estimate was thousands more than expected - even with us doing some of the work ourselves.
Description of Work: We were at Patete to get an estimate on a bathroom remodel. Our bathroom is approximately 11' x 5' . Quote of approximately $21,000 did not include electrical, plumbing, or paint. It would have been beneficial to receive ballpark estimates at the first meeting in order to avoid a waste of time.

Outstanding. We would consider Patete for future remodeling. The only concern with was the amount of up front money due upon the signing the contract. A deposit was required of 30%, paid at signing, plus an Advance of 20% for the purchase of material and 40% due upon tear out. The up front money for a large project is a lot when the waiting period to start the project was a few months away. Becasue of the long history and reputation of the company I went along with it against my better judgement. They ( Patete ) and their contractors that were on our job was just outstanding.
Description of Work: Gutted two bathrooms and replaced the power room with everything new except the floor. The walls had to be sanded as well. We hired Patete because of the highest reputation from others. We did not get a second quote, so I can't say if the price was high. What I can say is that we are very pleased with the end result. From the very first phone call to the conclusion of the project their staff and the various trade contractors treated us with respect and made us feel as we were part of their team. We had one in home visit and three visits to the showroom. The 3 visit's may seem a lot, but we have never did any remodeling to this extent before so we took our time. The sales person and the design person ( Georgia ) really helped with suggestions and made the entire process of remodeling as painless as possible. The job coordinator ( Frank) made a visit to the home after the contract was signed to measure again. Frank did a outstanding job to ensure the various trades arrived when scheduled, i.e. Electrical, Plumber and Painter. We ran into some unforeseen electrical issues. The contractor ( Nick's Electrical ) went out of their way to arrange their schedule to fix the issues. This was a cost over run I did not expect, but something that had to be done. Frank made one visit to the home during the job process. The job foreman and his helper took their job very seriously, paid close attention to every detail of the project no matter how big or small. All of our questions and concerns were handled with the utmost courtesy. They arrive on time each day. Explained what was being done each day. They were thorough and cleaned up any messes during and after each days work. The painter ( Brain) was outstanding. A professional who has a tireless attention to detail. No messes either. His clean up was thorough. We have had a few minor issues after the project and each concern has been taken care of without delay.
Started with Susan, the designer, she had some great ideas, incorporated mine and used every nook and cranny available. Then came Wayne, the poject manager, he runs a tight ship, the crews where there on time, one after the other. Loved Dave and Steve, the cabinet installers, they were so precise down to the millimeter, Followed by the plumber, the granite installers, the electrician and painter.. Wayne coordinated the deliverance of the appliances, there was nothing left for me to do but get up early in the morning...(I am retired) I had dreaded the project, but Patete made it easy. I loved the immediate response, no menue, people!!!They responded to the most minute question. Everybody left the place cleaner than they found it. Thank you all! Dorothee FRoltz

Everything with Patete Kitchen & Bath Design Center went well during the job. However I have to get them back out here again because the problem still exists. The problem with the sliding doors is that they don?t stay open. One has to keep pushing them several times until they latch. Overall, their work was good; it?s just that the doors are doing it again. They haven?t got anything to do with it. They were very professional.

A week or so into the remodel one of their employees stole nine pieces of my jewelry and was arrested. They found three items in a pawn shop with his name on the receipt. Patete did not want to accept responsibility for the theft and reimburse us for the jewelry. The owner accused me of lying about the other pieces missing insinuating I was trying to get money from him for items that I still had. When the employee was arrested he admitted to stealing the other items and said he had sold them on the street for drugs. Patete did not reimburse us and expected us to get restitution from their employee for the items stolen. The employee was supposed to make restitution but never did because he moved to Florida and there wasn't anything they could do here. The owner was condesending and rude to me repeatedly on the phone and screamed at me several times. Also, when they ordered the tile for the bathroom some of the tile came in broken and they never checked. The remodel was delayed waiting on resplacement tile to be ordered. We had wainscotting put up on the lower half of the walls and when the stainer started staining the wood the wood had water damage and I had to fight with the owner to have all the wood resanded and prepped properly for staining. Our contract clearly stated that all of the wall were to be replastered, but when they showed up to work on the walls the guy started to just fix the cracks in the wall. I questioned him and was told that was all he was supposed to do; I called the owner and he argued with me and I pointed out that it was in the contract to replaster the walls. They did eventually replaster the wall and did a terrible job of it. All of this after he refused to pay for my jewelry that was stolen.

Response from Patete Kitchens & Bath Design Center
I am shocked that someone could fabricate a story such as what has been written above. I am the owner of Patete Kitchen and Bath Design Center and over the last 7 years I have only spoken to the Member only once. Never have I expressed anything but remorse for her loss. Never did I have a conversation about what went on in the job or that something wasn't done properly other than my personal conversations with my employees at Patete. The customer accepted restitution of $4605.60 for her loses and all of a sudden 7 years later she comes out of the woodwork. Even though she was unable to show the value of what was missing as a courtesy to the customer we gave her this compensation. All of the work had been completed as per contract and service was given over and above the normal levels of customer service. I do not understand how someone can slander a company when she only spoke to me once and I showed her nothing but compassion for her loss even though we weren't sure how this happened. I never spoke to her again. the many implications that I spoke to her and treated her is a complete fabrication and somehow 7 years after accepting our generous offer of almost $5000.00 she has decided to ignore all the facts and fabricate a story which is paramount to slander. Hopefully these accusations and fabrications will not hurt our reputation which we have spent 50 years dedicating ourselves to customer service. There has not been an Angie's list member who actually did business with us that is not satisfied. The only reports which are negative are people who don't understand how we operate and don't purchase here. People who purchase here are always satisfied and if something is not right we make it right. Customer service is our middle name. Thank you for listening. Steven Erenrich, President.
They finished the project about 3 years ago. They were just fantastic to work with. I spent $35000 on that work. They were very easy to work with. They used sub-contractors, but they were very good and willing to work with us. I suggested some designs and they took it and did what they could, but I would say that their designs were better than anything I came up with. I think that the work they did was definitely gorgeous and was definitely worth every penny and it was a good experience. Their prices were a little bit higher than other quotes I got.
Description of Work: I used Patete Kitchen & Bath Design Center on the 14th April 2008 and they did our kitchen and that included counters, drywall, electric, carpentry, flooring, lighting, painting, plumbing and ceramic tiling.
