They are timely. They are reasonably priced. They clean up well. I would use them in the future.

My experience was good and bad. First of all, they were prompt. They showed up and gave me an estimate right up front. That part was all good. The workmanship wasn't that great. It wasn't bad but it wasn't what I was expecting or hoping for.

I am very difficult to reach (work daylight at hospital and cannot phone me). They did work - very patient! Very professional! Many emails and calls! They made a lot of effort to work around my crazy schedule! Never lost patience. I plan to use them for plastering and roofing!

One worker was at my house for one hour. The work appears to be satisfactory, but at a rate of $330/hour, I don't think I can afford to have them do any more work on my house.

Charlie was very prompt for the appointment and provided an estimate on the spot. He was very informative and professional. I agreed to have them do the work. Chuck came out at the agreed-upon time. He was even a little early, which was great. He immediately put down floor protection and went to work. I thought this was a very professional move. Upon removing of the window, it was discovered that there was a very minor siding issue, which they corrected at no charge! He reframed and installed the window. It looks great, and my wife is very excited also. Great experience! I will definitely use them again, and strongly recommend them!!!

Very professional warm and comfortable staff on phone and prompt arrival for estimate . Very prompt E mail estimate . I felt they priced themselves out of the job and preferred other types of work . Their estimate was more than 100% over accepted bid which entailed less work.

They were excellent and I would use them again. My insurnce company recommended them. Charlie McGinnis is one of the owners and I can't say enough abut my interaction with him. Charlie came when he said he would to do the estimate. Everything was done perfectly and they were very courteous. Their estimate was about $1,000 less than another company I knew. I was glad my insurance company sent me to them. They are not taking any new customers but now I am a customer and I would use them again. They are honest, fair and clean. They have integrity. They followed through with everything. I am a single woman and they were wonderful. I can’t say enough about them.

We had used Hindes and McGinnis for a project in our home in 2009 and 2010 and were very satisfied with their work. When we called about this year's project. They again reponded immediately and came to our home the next day for an estimate. Upon are deciding to go ahead with our project we were given a start date of July 11th a month in advance and were told the job would take one week. As promised the job started on July 11th and ended July15th. All of the workmen were hardworking, skilled and pleasant. All our questions and concerns were immediately addressed by Charlie McGinnis or Jamie Hindes. We would definitely use thier services again. They insist on excellence from themselves and their employees. They make us feel that our home is a top prioity with them.

Charlie McGinnis responded promptly to a phone call and gave an estimatte. Jamie Hindes came on the final day and helped with the completion of the project. He had the final bill sent by computer at that time. Unexpected rot discovered when part of the floor was removed added a little to the cost We were quite pleased with their work and professionalism. Diane, the receptionist, was pleasant and helpful. We certainly would hire H& M Construction again.

We were referred to them from our orginal contractor and noticed that they were on Angies list as well. Very happy with them.

The job was completed quickly and I would recommend them for other types of renovation

Charlie was informative and very professional.

Came quickly on first call and inspected and searched for leak, unable to discover leak. Called back when it was raining and noticed still leaking - They came back right away and were able to discover the leak and fix. Came back later to fix interior damage. Excellent job - they were able to match the plaster pattern on the ceiling exactly.

We solicited multiple contractors and H&M portrayed the most competence and professionalism. They were prompt, moved quickly, cleaned up at the end of each day and did an excellent job on the entire project. When we added the ceramic tile to the scope they put us on the schedule for a week out so they could meet their previously scheduled obligations, which I respected. Have them coming back to due some siding and gutter repair and use them again.

H&M (Jamie) gave us a prompt and accurate estimate. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. They arrived exactly on time for what was supposed to be a 2-day job, but finished everything in one day. (They were able to bring more guys to do the work due to an unexpected cancellation that day.) My wife and I had previously emptied the room of furniture. Since that was included as part of the estimate, Jamie was nice enough to do some extra staining for us, including re-staining some wood ceiling beams that were not part of the original scope of work. We really appreciated that kind of gesture. All the workers were very friendly and neat, and the job they did looks very nice. We would definitely hire H&M again.

They did a wonderful job. I had found Hindes & Mcginnis on Angie's List in 2009 when we needed some drywall repaired. They did a wonderful job, so therefore this March when we needed two ceilings repaired after the snow this Winter, we called them again. They came out immediately, gave us an estimate and firm date of June 1st for repairs. On June 1st they came and repaired and painted the ceilings resulting in flawless work. After they left, we noticed a very small nick in the bathtub where they had been working. Within 35 minutes of our call, the owner was at our door and repaired the small nick beautifully. Their responsiveness was very appreciated and I think that it speaks volumes for their customer service.

They were excellent and I would use them again in a minute.

H&M did a great job installing my basement and for the most part I am very satisfied. From the start, when you call H & M Charlie came out to my house to look at the scope of work and send me a bid. Within 1 day I had a bid in my email from Charlie. After comparing his bid to others, we decided we were going to use H&M and let them know on a Friday. By Tuesday of the next week they had started work and that is when I met Jamie (The other half of H&M). Jamie manages the on-site day-to-day operations but either Jamie or Charlie are available to help you if you need anything. Throughout the weeks, there were a number of crews that came into and out of the house. My ONLY complaint would be that because we had so many different crews, there was a critical path that relied on certain things getting done which we had to wait on sometimes. In addition, Bill the electrician was great but he was only one man and it was clear this was a lot of work for him, I also had to remind him that we had to run my speaker wire in the walls as well. The carpenters and drywall crew work quickly and clean up their mess every night, you would be amazed at what they can build in a day. Another note on the entire process, I had requested that I use my own floor installer and Charlie had no issues whatsoever with that. He was able to work around/with them and even fixed up some of the marks made from the carpet installation. All in all, the project took a while, but that was probably my personal issue of wanting things quickly. I am extremely happy and would use Charlie anytime. They are quick to the job, they always are on the ball when you ask for something and they will take care of any need you have.

They were too expensive for us, so we wound up not using.

Door works, but the dead bolt hole didn't align with the lock hole on the door, which made extra work when I installed the lock. Promised to send a receipt for the door, to be claimed for a tax credit, but didn't follow through.

This is the 2nd time that we've used H&M Contracting. They originally did the drywall finishing in our finished gameroom several years ago and we had a wonderful experience. Our experience this time around was also wonderful. Charlie McGinnis responded immediately to my initial call for an estimate to repair water damage in our home as a result of a huge winter storm that created ice dams on our roof. He came to our home within a few days to have a look at the damage. He was thorough in evaluating the extent of the damage and listened to our concerns about areas of the house where we heard water dripping behind the walls but didn't actually see damage. We received the estimate within a few days of his initial visit to our home and it was quite reasonable. Work began a few weeks later (due to the large number of homes in our area that experienced winter storm damage, they were scheduling farther out than normal). H&M's crews were prompt each day, were entirely courteous, and were extremely careful to prevent drywall dust from spreading throughout our home. They cleaned up every day and the project was completed in the exact time frame we were given. Charlie called daily to check on the progress of the work and his partner Jamie was present on the last day to inspect the work. The walls look great...like the damage never even happened! We have textured plaster on several walls from the 1950's and they were able to match it perfectly. We also feel 100% confident that all the dampness and mold issues behind the walls are gone. In the process of removing some damaged ceiling in our bedroom, we realized that our roof needs to be repaired as the plywood in that area was completely soaked. H&M went out of their way to get us an immediate roofing estimate from one of their colleagues. We highly recommend H&M if you have any need for a general contractor.

They were great. I didn’t use them to do work, and so I don’t know how good their work is, but their service was impeccable. The response time was super. I have nothing but good things to say about them. They were very professional and courteous, and they did what they said they were going to do. As far as giving quotes and coming out to the house when they said they were going to come out to the house are concerned, they were topnotch. It ended up costing nothing but they could have done better with the pricing. I would recommend them.

They did a good job. However, their price wasn’t very cheap. We will use them again in the future.

We had a tight schedule to fit my move-in to a new home. The contractors were timely, able to work around movers and other outside construction, always sought my input when changes were necessary, and cleaned up beautifully. The overall quality of all types of work, including masonry, construction, and finish work, was excellent.

Everything went basically according to schedule. While tearing down the ceiling, they cut an electrical line. They handled having an electrician come to repair it. Only complaint we have is that this left a junction box in the ceiling that wasn't there before. Otherwise, they showed up when they were supposed to, cleaned up after themselves, and finished on time.
